Lena G. Peterson

Lena G. Peterson age 99 years died peacefully Saturday July 31st in her home at 33 Elm Street, East Bridgewater. Born and raised in the town, she was the daughter of Pietro and Paolina Malaguti. She was a graduate of the East Bridgewater High School Class of 1928 and both studied and taught at Brockton Business College. In partnership with her deceased husband, Earl A. Peterson, she conducted a successful antiques and appraisal business for more than sixty years.
Lena was very active in many organizations and in town affairs. She provided counsel and leadership over many years to the East Bridgewater Garden Club, the East Bridgewater Women’s Club, the Glass Club of Boston, and served as President of the Past Presidents of Massachusetts Women’s Club. She was a charter member of the East Bridgewater Historical Society at its founding in 1973 and served as a major advisor and contributor to the East Bridgewater Sesquicentennial Celebration in that same year. Lena was appointed to the East Bridgewater Historical Commission at its inception and was honored as the longest serving member of that town body. Mentally and physically vigorous even in her advanced age, her grandsons referred to her as “the energizer bunny.”
An avid traveler and advocate of education, she shared with her family her love of adventure and her passion for the fine arts and fine glass. In her honor, the family has established an annual scholarship for a graduate of East Bridgewater High School. She is survived by her son, Professor Dale Peterson, and her much-loved daughter-in-law, Dr. Lorna Peterson, both of Amherst; by her beloved grandsons, Zachary and Seth, their wives, three great-grandchildren, Jesse, Calvin, and Stella Peterson, and her dear sister, Anita Lundin.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday August 10th from 7~9 pm in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton, MA. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday August 11th at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Central Cemetery, East Bridgewater.

David J. Hazard

David J. Hazard, age 29, passed away September 1, 2010 at his home in San Francisco after a 1-year battle with Leukemia. David was the son of Walter and Cynthia (Callaghan) Hazard of Middleboro. He is survived by his devoted sister, Rachel, and his loving companion Natalie Combs of San Francisco.
He grew up in Middleboro, graduating from Middleboro High School in 1999 and Boston University in 2003 with a degree in Environmental Analysis and Policy. Upon graduating he moved to San Francisco and was employed by the ECM Group, an environmental consulting firm, for 5 years. In 2009 David and Natalie traveled extensively through New Zealand, Peru and Bolivia. Besides traveling, David enjoyed music, especially playing the drums, and volunteering on weekends at the Alemany Community Farm. He was a passionate environmentalist.
David is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Callaghan, Michael and Mary (Doherty) Callaghan, William and Marianne Riordan and Patricia Reineck, and by his cousins, Atty. Paul Callaghan, Dr. Katherine Callaghan, Matthew Callaghan, Dan Doherty, David Oates and Eileen Hine. He is also survived by his close Middleboro friends, Mike and Adam Pelletier, Jen Baptiste and Dan Campbell, and his close San Francisco friend and caregiver, Colin Lapuyade.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 10 from 4-8 at the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St. (Rt. 18) Lakeville, MA.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, September 11 at 10 am. Burial will follow immediately at the Nemasket Cemetery
in Middleboro.

Jean C. (Phillips) Hallock

Jean C. (Phillips) Hallock age 79 years of Goshen, NH died unexpectedly Friday, August 20, 2010 at New London Hospital in New London, NH. She was the beloved wife of Robert “Bob” E. Hallock of 58 years.
Born Friday, May 22, 1931 in Brockton, MA she was the daughter of the late George and Dorothy (Perkins) Phillips. Jean was a 1949 graduate of Middleboro High School and attended Westbrook Junior College in ME. She was raised in Middleboro and moved to Raynham in 1968 and retired to Goshen, NH in 1993.
Jean was and avid reader and enjoyed wintering in Pinellas Park, FL. She loved traveling, swimming, living in the mountains and most of all spending time with her family. She was also a member of North Middleboro Congregational Church.
In addition to her husband Bob she is survived by a son R. Scott Hallock and his wife Lynda of Milford, NH; a daughter Pamela Pierce of Pinellas Park, FL; a son in law John F. Faidell of Lakeville; six grandchildren Timothy J. Faidell and his wife Amanda, Crystal Pierce, Peter Hallock and his wife Morgan, Brian Faidell, Jennifer Wheeler and her husband Justin and Rachel Hallock and her fiancé Joseph Valenza; 4 great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Susan L. Faidell.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 10:00 AM in North Middleboro Congregational Church, 38 Plymouth St. N. Middleboro. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from 4-8 PM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St. Lakeville, MA.

Gregory George Misodoulakis age 18 of Lakeville, MA died unexpectedly in Lakeville on Friday, September 3, 2010.
Born Thursday, December 12, 1991 in Nashua, NH he was the loving son of Gregory and Celeste (Morin) Misodoulakis.
Greg had lived in Assonet and for the past 6 years in Lakeville. He was a 2010 Graduate of Apponequet Regional High School where he graduated with Honors and was a freshman at the University of Mass in Amherst. While in high school he was an Officer on the Student Council, a Captain of the winter and spring track team, on the National Honor Society, member of D.E.C.A where his team placed 6th nationally in the 2010 conference in Louisville, KY. Being not a shy person he was an enthusiastic participant of MADD night and enjoyed volunteering at various community organizations. He enjoyed skiing, music, reading, golfing and was an avid history buff and his goal was to become a high school history teacher.
In addition to his parents Gregory and Celeste he is survived by his brother Alexander Misodoulakis of Lakeville; his paternal grandparents George and Dolores Misodoulakis of Milford, NH; his maternal grandfather Rosaire Morin and his wife Priscilla of Lewiston, ME; his maternal grandmother Rita Morin of Kennebunk, ME; his maternal great-grandmother Germaine Tardif of Lewiston, ME and many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 11:00 AM in Life House Church, 17 Jericho Road, Middleboro, MA everyone is welcome to meet at Church.

Diana G. ( LeBlanc ) Bradford age 89 years of Middleboro, MA died Friday, July 16, 2010 at her home after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late James Bradford.
Born, Friday, April 8, 1921 in New Bedford, MA she was the daughter of the late Hilaire and Parmelia (Couture) LeBlanc .
Diana graduated from Gardner High School and after marring her husband James she lived the rest of her life in Middleboro. She worked in the retail industry for various department stores and enjoyed sewing, knitting and many other crafts. She was also a member of Sacred Heart Church in Middleboro.
She is survived by two daughters Gaynel Bradford of Middleboro and Theresa Bradford Wager and her husband Billy of Middleboro; two sons Gary Bradford and his wife Dianne of Middleboro and Bruce Bradford of Plympton; four grandchildren Shayne, Brett and Daryl Bradford all of Middleboro and Jeffrey Gomes of NH; a close family friend Ben Heed of New Bedford and the family dog Bear, who loved to lay with Diana. She was also the mother of the late Joseph Bradford.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 9:00 AM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St. Lakeville, MA 02347 followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church in Middleboro. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery
in Middleboro. Visitation will take place on Monday July 19, 2010 form 3 – 7 PM.

Lawrence S. Oberacker age 63 of Middleborough Massachusetts, died July 25, 2010 of an unexpected illness. He was the loving husband to Sandra Oberacker, father to Scott, Marc and Jay and grandfather to Max, Ella, Calvin and Riley Oberacker.
Larry, the son of Shirley B. Oberacker and the late Arthur W. Oberacker, was born in Boston, MA on May 18, 1947. He graduated from Norwood High School in 1965; from Ricker College, in Houlton, ME in 1970; and earned his master’s degree from Suffolk University in 1980.
Larry was proud to serve as a Special Needs teacher for grades 4 through 6 in the Middleborough Public School system for 36 years – his entire career. He retired in 2007, but continued to serve as a long and short-term sub in the 6th grade at Tiger Nichols Middle School in Middleborough for the last three years of his life. “Mr. O.,” as his students always knew him, will be remembered for his unflagging dedication to the educational, emotional and developmental needs of every student he worked with, as well as for his generous good nature and lively sense of humor.
Larry was also a perennial student. He loved to travel with Sandy and especially enjoyed making visits to sites of historical and cultural importance, which were always copiously researched beforehand. He was a dedicated researcher and chronicler of family history, producing many detailed accounts of ancestors and past events that will be enjoyed by family members for years to come. In his retirement, Larry joined the Friends of the Middleborough Public Library as the Board Secretary, where he was instrumental in supporting and developing many of their educational programs such as author talks and presentations.
Larry was also a committed member of the Church of Our Savior in Middleborough, where he served on the Vestry for many years.
Above all else, Larry was dedicated to his family. He was deeply attached to his family summer home on Sconticut Neck in Fairhaven, MA. Larry spent summers there as a child, and continued to vacation there with his family throughout his life, serving as the “family patriarch” and organizer of family reunions.
Larry will be deeply missed by his family; his mother, Shirley Oberacker; his brothers, Bill and Wayne; his daughters-in-law, Kristen and Liz; his four grandchildren, his nieces and nephews, as well as many great friends and relatives.
Visitation has been omitted. A graveside memorial service will be held in the Nemasket Cemetery
in Middleborough, MA at 11am on Friday, July 30, 2010.

Carol A. (Brill) Gilmore

Carol A. (Brill) Gilmore of Raynham and Bonita Springs, FL (formerly of Jamaica Plain and Readville), passed away on August 8, 2010. She was the beloved wife of Robert Gilmore, Sr.. , loving mother of Robert and Karen Gilmore, Jr., Aprile and Stephen O’Reilly, Steven and Kathleen Gilmore, Carol and James Dalia, Mary and Michael Breen, Laura and Ron Hurd, and she was predeceased by her loving son Michael A. Gilmore. Carol was also loving Nana to her twenty-five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was the loving sister of Norma and Joseph Spinale, sister-in-law Marcia and Gil Gonzales and brother-in-law Ronald Gilmore. She had many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Carol loved life and the love of her family. She had 76 wonderful years, 58 of them the happiest married to her husband and best friend Bob. Her favorite pastimes were traveling with her husband and family, playing cards, and relaxing on the beach with family and friends in Bonita Springs, Fl. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her devotion to her family was admired and her love for her husband was “Unforgettable”. Carol had a beautiful house filled with pictures and many memories. Now she is home with God’s son Jesus and her son Michael, always missed and forever loved.
Her funeral will be held from Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford Street (Rte 18), Lakeville, MA on Friday, August 13th at 9:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish, 370 Middleboro Avenue, E. Taunton.
Visiting hours will take place on Thursday from 4:00-8:00 PM.
Conrad J. Anderson, Jr.

Conrad J. Anderson, Jr. age 86 years of Englewood, FL formerly of West Bridgewater and Brewster, MA died July 6, 2010 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, NC after a brief illness. He was the husband of Nora Jean (Michael) Anderson and the late H. Louise (Sanborn) Anderson of 55 years.
Born Wednesday, October 17, 1923 in Brockton, MA he was the son of the late Conrad J. Anderson, Sr. and Marion (Roney) Anderson.
Conrad was a graduate of Brockton High School and had been a long time resident of West Bridgewater and Brewster, MA and most recently has lived in Englewood, FL. He was a WW II veteran serving in the US Army’s 296 Division of the Army Corps of Engineers. After the war he worked for Hathaway Bakery and then for Met Life as a Sales Manager where he worked for over 25 years before retiring. After his retirement he was associated with James Trainor Real Estate in Brewster. He was an accomplished jazz pianist and enjoyed music, gardening and was a member of St. George Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Brockton.
In addition to his wife he is survived by 3 children Christine Kone and her husband Christopher of Easton, David J. Anderson and his fiancé June Badmington of Bridgewater and John S. Anderson of E. Freetown; 7 grandchildren Rachel (Anderson) Hughes and her husband John, Geoffrey Kone, Samantha Kone, Anthony Anderson, Mark Anderson, Meredith Anderson and Matthew Anderson and a great-grandson Anthony Conrad Anderson. He was also the father of the late Conrad Frank Anderson.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday July 10, 2010 at 9:30 AM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton, MA. Visitation will take place on Friday, July 9, 2010 from 4-8 PM with a Masonic service by St. Georges Lodge at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to a charity of your choice.
