Valerio J. Bernasconi, Jr., age 57 years passed away June 9, 2008 at the Caritas Good Samaritan Hospital following a long illness. He was the husband of 34 years of Dorothy (Burton) Bernasconi of Brockton.
Born in Boston he was the son of the late Valerio J. Sr., and Pauline (Campbell) Bernasconi. He was raised and educated in Avon and had been a resident of the city of Brockton for the past 35 years. Mr. Bernasconi enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, boxing and especially cooking. He also served in the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard.
In addition to his wife Dorothy he is survived by a daughter, Danielle Bernasconi, a grandson, Jonathan Bernasconi, two brothers, Matthew Bernasconi and his wife Cindy, Wayne Bernasconi and his wife Barbara, sister in laws, Annie Burton and Vanessa Mcrudy, several brother in laws, Aunt Audrey McMillian and Uncle Donald McMillian. As well as other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Monday June 16 at 10:30 am in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton, MA. Memorial visitation will be prior to the service from 10 – 10:30 am.
Kenneth B. “Tum-Tum” Erickson

Kenneth B. “Tum-Tum” Erickson age 88 years of Lakeville, MA died Monday, June 16, 2008 at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Alice A. (Plissey) Erickson of 68 years.
Born Friday, September 5, 1919 in Middleboro, he was the son of the late Herbert and Caroline (Bryant) Erickson. Mr. Erickson had been a life long resident of Lakeville and was a 1937 graduate of Middleboro High School. He was co-owner of Lakeville Sand and Gravel, Lakeville Country Homes and Reservoir Heights Country Club in Lakeville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, saw milling and most of all spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also associated with Lakeville United Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife Alice he is survived by three children Ronald Erickson and his wife Sharon of Lakeville, Janice Hartford and her husband Harry of Richmond, MA and Steven Erickson and his wife Cathy of Freetown, MA; a son in law Red Horton of Lakeville; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother Donald Erickson of Plymouth and many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Sandy Horton and the brother of the late Harland Erickson.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2008 at 11:30 AM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St. (Rt. 18) Lakeville, MA. Visitation will take place on Friday from 10:00 – 11:30 AM prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to the Lakeville United Church of Christ, Lakeville, MA.
Lance J. “Blue” Lariviere
Lance J. “Blue” Lariviere age 24 years passed away suddenly June 16 in Florida. Born and raised in Malden he also lived in Wareham and Brockton before moving to Florida two months ago. He was the son of John J. Lariviere of Cape Canaveral, FL and Fabiana P. (Chase) Newhall of Charlestown, MA. In addition to his parents he is survived by a brother, John P. Lariviere, two sisters, Brittany K. Hanley and Michelle Lariviere, Aunts and Uncles, Katherine Ayala, Margaret Flaherty, George Chase, Francine Ikeda, Dennis Chase, Angela DeOliveira and Ernest Aupperlee. As well as three nieces and nephews and many cousins. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday June 24 at 8:00 am in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton, MA, followed by a funeral mass at 9:00 am in St. Patrick’s Parish 335 Main St. Brockton. Albert L. “AL” Desrosiers

Albert L. “AL” Desrosiers age 77 years passed away suddenly on Saturday at the Caritas Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Concetta “Cetty” (Emo) Desrosiers of Brockton. They would have celebrated their 56th Wedding Anniversary on June 28th.
Born in New York, NY he was the son of the late Albert and Ida (Griese) Desrosiers. He was raised and educated in Taunton, MA and had been a long time resident of Brockton. He served in the U.S. Air Force achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. Mr. Desrosiers was employed as an Industrial therapist at the Brockton Veterans Administration Hospital from which he retired. He was an avid hunter and belonged to the Taunton Gun & Rifle Club. He also was a member of several local model airplane clubs.
In addition to his wife Cetty he is survived by a daughter, Debra A. Picanzo of West Bridgewater and a son, Stephen Desrosiers of North Carolina, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a brother, John A. Desrosiers of Taunton.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday June 25th at 11:00 am in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton, MA. Interment will follow the service in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8 pm.
Shirley June (Browne) Evans

Shirley June (Browne) Evans age 76 years of Middleboro, MA formerly of Whitman, MA died Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. She was the wife of the late John M. Evans of Abington.
Shirley was a member of the American Legion in Readsboro, VT and the V.F.W. in Bennington, VT. She loved arts and crafts and traveled around the country with her husband for 10 years in their RV.
She was the loving mother of Mark Evans and his wife Jo-Anne of Lakeville, MA and Marcia C. Evans of Vermont; loving grandmother of Shanna Souza and her husband John and Nicole Evans; 2 great-grandchildren; a sister, Geraldine Bemis and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Clyde Browne, Marion Phinney, Evelyn Donaldson, Rena Coates, Gladys Browne, Donald Browne, Earl Browne and Russell Browne.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 5:00 PM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St. (Rt. 18) Lakeville, MA.

Frances L. (Frederick) Donnelly

Frances L. (Frederick) Donnelly aged 84 years of Lakeville died July 21, 2008 at Island Terrace Nursing Home in Lakeville after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Thomas A. Donnelly.
Born July 23, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Louis F. and Ary B. Frederick. Frances formerly lived in Marshfield and Bridgewater and currently was a resident of Lakeville. She enjoyed traveling, reading and most of all loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by four children T. Joseph Donnelly of Watertown and his companion Annette T. Polinchak of Everett, Margaret L. Porter and her husband James C. of Lakeville, Diane M. Wiles and her husband G. Stewart of Finksburg, MD and Teresa M. Stephens and her husband Squire W. of Merrimack, NH; 13 grandchildren Nathan Donnelly, Eric Donnelly, Kellie Limoli, Kim Donnelly, Jeffrey J. Porter, Michael T. Porter, Nicholas Ingallina, Francine LaCasse, Karla Ingallina Christine Wiles, Shannon Stephens, Matthew Stephens and Colby Stephens; four great-grandchildren and a nephew Fred Frederick. She was also the sister of the late Louis Frederick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM in Sts. Martha & Mary Church, Lakeville, MA. Interment will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery
in Braintree.
Visitation will take place on Friday from 3-8 PM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St. Lakeville, MA.
Augustus T. “Gus” Rose, Jr.

Augustus T. “Gus” Rose, Jr. age 87 years of Taunton, MA died Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Longmeadow of Taunton Nursing Home after a long illness.
Born Saturday, October 16, 1920 in New Bedford, MA he was the son of the late Augustus T. and Anna Rose, Sr.
Gus lived most of his life in Taunton and worked for 25 years as an attendant at Taunton State Hospital and had worked for over 15 years for Shaw’s Supermarket. He served in the US Army during WW II in the Philippians, in the Tank Core under George Patton and was a member of the VFW in Taunton. He loved bicycling and farming. Gus lived a vibrant and exuberant life and enjoyed family, friends and the many people he met at Shaw’s.
He is survived by six children Kenneth Rose and his wife Maureen of Taunton, Carol M. Rose of TX, David Rose and his wife Colleen of Lakeville, Cynthia Osorio and her husband Monolo of Washington , DC, Robert Rose and his wife Cristina of FL and Richard Rose and his wife Elizabeth of Berkley and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 280 Bedford St. Lakeville, MA. Interment will follow in Cedar Knoll Cemetery
in East Taunton.

Howard Lyle Farnum

Howard Lyle Farnum aged 88 years of West Bridgewater, MA died Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in NH after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Doris M (Cunningham) Farnum.
Born Sunday, January 25, 1920 he was the son of the late Lyle J. and Sarah (Fidler) Farnum. Howard was a 1937 graduate of Howard High School and lived most of his life in West Bridgewater. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II as a Machinist Mate 2nd Class on board the light cruiser USS Mobile and fought in 41 major engagements in the Pacific Theater (1942-1945).
Mr. Farnum was formerly employed by the former Avon Sole Co. in Avon as a foreman of the Maintenance Department for 21 years and most recently retired from Pine Hill Cemetery
in 1982. He served as a volunteer fireman in West Bridgewater, a member of the Knights of Pythias and served on the K of P (Howard Lodge) drill team. He enjoyed camping, fishing, bicycling and playing cribbage, receiving a perfect hand and spending time with his family.
He is survived by a son H. Arthur Farnum and his wife Sandra of VT; a daughter Sally E. Krugger and her husband Richard of West Bridgewater; six grandchildren Geoffrey Farnum, Colleen Fisher, Heather Lovett, Brandi Richmond, Tiffany Patounas and Matthew Krugger and 5 great-grandchildren. He was also the brother of the late Charles L. Farnum.
A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, Chapel for all Faiths, 647 Main St., Brockton, MA. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery
in West Bridgewater, MA.

James Michael “Jimmy” Bowlby age 24 years of Lakeville, MA died, Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a long illness. He was the loving husband of Jennifer E. (Hirsch) Bowlby and devoted father of Jaymi Bowlby.
Born July 20, 1983 in Boston he was the beloved son of Donna (Palano) Bowlby of Lakeville and the late James Peter Bowlby.
Jimmy lived most of his life in Milton and had lived in Lakeville for the past 9 years. He was educated in Milton and Lakeville schools and served in the U.S. Army in Iraq.
In addition to his mother, wife and daughter he is survived by 2 brothers Michael Bowlby of Middleboro and Kevin Bowlby of Lakeville; 2 sisters Kristina Bowlby of Lakeville and Jacqueline “Jackie” Bowlby of Lakeville; his maternal grandmother Clara Palano of Boston; his paternal grandmother Catherine Bowlby of Milton; a aunt Denise Abdou of Foxboro; a uncle Robert Bowlby of Milton and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 10:00 AM in Sts. Martha and Mary Church in Lakeville. Interment will follow in Sampson Cemetery.
