John L. Rourke, 72, died at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Saturday, March 26 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Carol A. (Campo) Rourke. Born and educated in Pawtucket, RI, he resided in Stoughton for 20 years after living most of his life in Pawtucket. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Rourke was a member of the Local 25 in Boston for 33 years before retiring at age 55. He was a lifetime member of the VFW.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Rourke is survived by his children, Judy Blouin, Joanne Partington, Jennifer Blanchet and Joy McCaughey all of Pawtucket, RI, John "Jack" Rourke of CT, Jeff Rourke of Rehoboth and James Rourke of Cumberland, RI, as well as his stepdaughters, Stayci Harris of Taunton and Kim Harris of Monson. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Rao of Johnston, RI, Eleanor McGinley of Cranston, RI, Ann Smith of IL, Joan Rourke of Providence, RI and Patricia Fogarty of AZ, as well as 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Culhane and his brothers, Thomas Rourke and Paul Rourke.
Funeral Mass will be held from the Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton on Thursday at 9 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. Arrangements by Farley Funeral Home, Stoughton. Interment will take place at the VA National Cemetery

RALPH J. LaBIANCA

Ralph J. LaBianca, 46, died Wednesday, March 23 at the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital in Boston. Born in Somerville, he was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1977 and a resident of Brockton for many years.
Mr. LaBianca is survived by his mother, Rose M. (Brignolo) LaBianca of Brockton and his brother Stephen F. LaBianca and his wife Rochelle of Easton. He is also survived by his niece Stephanie LaBianca. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis J. LaBianca.
Funeral prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Monday 2-5 PM. Burial will be held at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
PATRICIA E. (ELWELL) MacDONALD

Patricia E. (Elwell) MacDonald, 64, died at home in Abington on Monday, March 21 after a period of failing health. Born in Boston, she was a graduate of Dorchester High School. She was a resident of Abington for 40 years. Mrs. MacDonald was a Loan Service Officer for Education Loan Services, Inc. in Braintree for several years before retiring several years ago. In her free time she loved spending time with her family.
Mrs. MacDonald is survived by her sons, Michael A. MacDonald, Jr. of E. Bridgewater and Kevin J. MacDonald of Rockland, her grandchildren, Erin G. MacDonald and Kevin J. MacDonald, Jr., Anthony M. Reardon, Kelsey A. Murphy and Seth T. Murphy. She is also the aunt of Lorna E. Murphy and Timothy J. Murphy both of Middleboro, Deborah A. Simonds of Avon, James Elwell of Reading, Thomas Elwell of Watertown and William Elwell of Tewksbury. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ann M. Gross, Margaret T. Murphy and James Elwell.

Albina G. (Balchunas) Burke, 86, died at Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood on Tuesday, March 22 after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Thomas A. Burke. Born in Brockton, she was educated in Brockton schools and graduated from Brockton Business School. She was a resident of Canton since 1968 after living in Brockton for many years. She also summered in Monument Beach for many years. Mrs. Burke worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Coordinator in the Welfare Dept. for Southeastern Massachusetts. She was Past President for St. Gerard Majella Church Ladies Sodality. In her free time she loved swimming at Monument Beach and spending time with and cooking for her family.
Mrs. Burke is survived by her daughter, Barbara B. Eisenstein of Canton, her granddaughter, Nora A. Eisenstein and her brother, Anthony P. Balchunas of Canton. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Balchunas and her sister, M. Phyllis Berry.

CLAIRE M. (BOUIN) GARNEY

Claire M. (Bouin) Garney, 52, died Saturday, March 19 at the New England Medical Center in Boston after a period of failing health. She was the wife of David L. Garney. Born and raised in Medfield, she was a graduate of Medfield Schools. She was also a graduate of Rhode Island College for both her Bachelors and Master's Degrees. She was a Spanish Teacher in Stoughton High School for 30 years. She retired last year. A lover of dogs, she was a member of the Alaskan Malamute Club and the Heritage Keeshond Club. She was also a member of the Massachusetts Teacher's Association.
In addition to her husband, David, Mrs. Garney is survived by her parents, Maurice "Mush" Bouin and Margaret (Sproule) Bouin of Medfield and her brothers, James Bouin of CA and Paul Bouin of Medfield. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

DOROTHY C. (POLILLIO) CARTER

Dorothy C. "Dot" (Polillio) Carter, 73, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died Saturday, March 19 at her home after a battle with cancer. She was the wife of 50 years of Thomas J. Carter. Born in Stoughton, she was a graduate of St. Mary's School in Stoughton and St. Patrick's High School in Brockton, class of 1949. She also attended Fisher Jr. College. Mrs. Carter worked as a Teller at the Stoughton Cooperative Bank in Stoughton for over 10 years. She retired due to her illness. Prior to that she worked at Associated Shoe in Brockton for 10 years as a secretary and also at Mur-Macs in Stoughton for over 20 years. She was a member of TOPS in Brockton for 17 years. Mrs. Carter was active at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Stoughton for many years as the Treasurer for the Ladies Sodality and as a CCD Teacher. She was an avid Red Sox Fan.
In addition to her husband Thomas J. Carter, she is survived by her 3 sons: Steven J. Carter and his wife Donna of Hudson, NH, Paul J. Carter of Stoughton and Robert E. Carter of Bethesda, MD. She is also survived by her parents George C. and Mary P. (Carrara) Polillio of Stoughton. She was the sister of Barbara A. Maher of MD and Joan M. Payne of Easton. She was the grandmother of Kerry, Paul, Courtney, Alexandra, Bay, Richard, Alison and Christopher Carter.

STEPHEN S. PIOTROWICZ

Stephen S. Piotrowicz, 89, died at the Northeast Specialty Hospital in Braintree on Wednesday, March 16 after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Sally G. (Hankus) Piotrowicz. Born and educated in South Boston, Mr. Piotrowicz lived in Dorchester for many years before moving to Stoughton in 1972. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Piotrowicz worked in the shipping and receiving department at Fabreeka Products in Canton for many years before retiring in 1980. He was a member of the VFW Post 1645 in Stoughton, where he was past chaplain, aide de camp and member of the honor guard.
Mr. Piotrowicz is survived by his son, Edward Peters of NH, his grandchildren, Michael, Mary and Ann Peters and his sister, Irene Mazerall of Dorchester.

MARIA R. (MENDES) GOMES

Maria R. (Mendes) Gomes, 79, died at home in Stoughton on Tuesday, March 15 after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Rubin Jose DeSousa. Born and educated in Portugal, she was a resident of Stoughton for 18 years. Mrs. Gomes was an assembler at Corcoran Shoe and then Spoontiques in Stoughton for several years before retiring 9 years ago. She enjoyed going to Club Luis de Camoes in Stoughton.
Mrs. Gomes is survived by her sons, Manuel M. DeSousa of Stoughton and Joaquim M. DeSousa of Brockton, as well as her grandsons, Claudio and Manny DeSousa. She is also survived by her sister, Maria M. Mendes of Portugal and her godson, Francisco Rodrigues. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Maria G. Mendes.

BERNARD F. WILKINSON

Bernard F. Wilkinson, 84, died at the New Bedford Health Care in New Bedford on Monday, March 14. He was the husband of the late Nellie H. (Callahan) Wilkinson. A lifelong resident of Stoughton, he was educated in Stoughton Schools. Mr. Wilkinson was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He was chief electrician for the Charlestown Navy Yard for several years until 1954. He then worked as a self-employed electrician for many years before retiring 22 years ago. He was a member of the American Legion Post 89 in Stoughton.
Mr. Wilkinson is survived by his daughters, Joycelyn A. Marshall of New Bedford, Joan C. Wall and Dorothy M. Campbell both of Easton and Patricia Kelley of Foxboro. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Francis E. Lundstedt, 71, died unexpectedly at home in Stoughton on Friday, March 11. He was the son of the late Frank E. and Jennie (Fitzgerald) Lundstedt. A lifelong resident of Stoughton, Mr. Lundstedt was a graduate of Stoughton High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked in the mail room at the John Hancock Insurance Co. in Boston for several years before retiring 10 years ago.
Mr. Lundstedt is survived by his brother, Charles F. Lundstedt of Middleboro, as well as 5 nieces and nephews and 10 great-nieces and nephews.

Vontella L. (Johnson) Faria, 68, died at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Monday, March 14. She was the wife of Mario Faria. Born and educated in Knoxville, TN, Mrs. Faria was a resident of Stoughton for 30 years. She was a housewife at home with her family.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Faria is survived by her children, Mario Faria, Jr. of Brockton, Nancy Kershaw of FL and Janet Faria of Stoughton, as well as her grandchildren, Courtney Kershaw and Paul Kershaw. She is also survived by her sister, Bettye Sullivan of TN and her brother, Robert Johnson of MO.
