KENNETH R. McMURRAY

October 3, 1956 - February 9, 2001

McMurray - Kenneth R. of Quincy suddenly on Friday February 9, 2001 aged 44 years. Loving son of Ralph of Del Ray Beach, Florida and Olga Farrell (Thomas) of Orlando, Florida. Dear brother of Gail Steiner and her husband Mark of Ocala, Florida and Robert McMurray and his wife Michele of Manchester, New Hampshire. Fond uncle of Chris, Alyssa, Katherine, Kathryn, Paige and Shawn.

Visiting hours will be from 6pm on Monday February 12, followed by the Funeral Service at 8pm in the chapel at the Ruggiero-Mazzarella Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street (Orient Heights) East Boston. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.

Kenneth worked for the past few months at the 57 Steak House in Boston and had previously worked in several other restaurants in the Boston area. He died at home in Bigelow Street, Quincy.

The Memorial Home is handicapped accessible and a children's lounge is available. Courtesy valet parking at the front entrance and ample off street parking is also available. For transportation to the memorial home please call 617-569-0990.

Dorothy A. McNeil

June 8, 1915 - August 27, 2003

McNeil - Dorothy A. (Ward) of Sioux Falls SD, formerly of East Boston and West Roxbury, passed away on Wednesday August 27th, 2003 at the Avera Prince of Peace after a brief battle with cancer.

Beloved wife of the late Alfred McNeil, formerly of the Boston Police Department.

Devoted mother of Fr. Frank McNeil of Sioux Fall, SD.

Loving survived by her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law; Rita and Walter McNeil of Reading MA, and Constance "Connie" McNeil of Winthrop MA.

Also survived by many fond nieces and nephews, her special friends Peggy and Dick Faulkner of Reading MA, and many dear friends in South Dakota and Massachusetts.

Memorial Service in our chapel at the Ruggiero-Mazzarella Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street (Orient Heights) East Boston on Friday September 5th at 10:00am. Visiting hours are on Thursday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, and from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.

Dorothy was born June 8, 1915 in Worcester, MA to Ralph & Anne (Ellis) Ward. She married Alfred McNeil at Star of the Sea Church in East Boston, MA on Nov. 24, 1940 where they lived until moving to West Roxbury, MA in 1958. Alfred was a member of the Boston Police Department and during that time Dorothy was an active member of the Boston Police Wives Association. He preceded her in death in 1984.

In 1988 Dorothy left Boston and moved into the Laurel Oaks Apartments at Prince of Peace Retirement Community in Sioux Falls, SD to be near her son who was then Chaplain there. While a resident there she served as one of the first Eucharistic Ministers of Communion and Lectors. She loved to sew and many of the Altar cloths and appointments at the Chapel at Prince of Peace were made by her. She also loved to bake and to grow plants. She had an extensive collection of "teddy bears" which she had asked to be given to the children's ward at McKennan Hospital. She will always be remembered as being very faithful in remembering people's special days by sending them birthday, get well and anniversary cards.

Services will conclude with Dorothy being laid to rest in St. Joseph's Cemetery in West Roxbury.

James J. McNeil

September 27, 1917 - February 27, 2001

McNeil - James J. of Winthrop, formerly of Orient Heights East Boston, peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday February 27, 2001. Beloved husband of Constance (Sparaco) McNeil. Devoted father of Marissa Madden and her husband Peter of Reading, James J. McNeil Jr. of East Boston, Nancy Famolare and her husband Charles III of Winthrop. Dear brother of Walter McNeil of North Reading, Rita Winter of Saugus, and the late George McNeil, Alfred McNeil, Mary Suprey, and Charles, Eleanor, & Francis McNeil. Lovingly survived by five special grandchildren Lauren, Ashley, Peter, Kayla and Gianna.

Funeral from the Ruggiero-Mazzarella Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street (Orient Heights) East Boston on Friday March 2 at 9:00am. Funeral Mass in St.Joseph-St.Lazarus Church, 59 Ashley Street, East Boston at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are on Thursday from 4pm-9pm.

James was born in Boston in 1917 to the late Francis and Nellie (Coon) McNeil. He was a veteran of WWII when he served his country in the US Navy. James worked in the banking industry for more than 20 years with the Charlestown Saving Bank and was formerly a Director of the Title 1 Program at the St.Lazarus School, and a late Eucharistic Minister at St.Joseph-St.Lazarus Church, East Boston. He passed away peacefully aged 83 years after a long illness.

Services will conclude with James being laid to rest at the Winthrop Cemetery.

Louis Messina

December 10, 1922 - July 1, 2001

Messina - Louis of East Boston on Sunday July 1, 2001. Beloved husband of the late Adeline (Principe) Messina. Devoted father of Phyllis and her husband Thomas Bruno of East Boston and Anthony and his wife Mary (Dente) of Danvers. Also lovingly survived by six grandchildren; Lori, Kristin, Michael, Anthony, Taylor and Kelsey.

Visiting hours at the Ruggiero-Mazzarella Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street (Orient Heights) East Boston on Tuesday July 3 from 9:00am to 10:30am followed by a Funeral Mass in St.Joseph-St.Lazarus Church, 59 Ashley Street, East Boston at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.

Louis was born in Boston in 1922 and worked for many years as a sheet metal worker for the New England Stamping & Die Company in Boston. He died at the Governor Winthrop Nursing Home in Winthrop after a brief illness.

Services will conclude with burial at the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Danvers.

Joseph F. Minacapilli

July 22, 1974 - June 4, 2003

Minacapilli - Joseph F. of Orient Heights East Boston, formerly of Beachmont Revere, passed away on Wednesday June 4th, 2003 aged 28 years.

Loving son of Giuseppe and Giuseppina (Giunta) Minacapilli.

Dear brother of Marina Batres of Everett, Grace Kruse of Melrose, and Salvatore Minacapilli of Middleton.

Cherished grandson of Grazia (Saporito) Giunta of Beachmont Revere and the late Salvatore Giunta.

Also lovingly survived by many fond aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral from the Ruggiero-Mazzarella Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street (Orient Heights) East Boston on Saturday June 7th at 9:00am. Funeral Mass in St.Joseph-St.Lazarus Church, 59 Ashley Street, East Boston at 10:00am. Visiting hours are on Friday from 4:00pm to 9:00pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.

Joseph was born in Venezuela in 1974. He attended Beachmont elementary schools and Revere High School. Joseph worked in the family drycleaning business in Orient Heights. He passed away after a long illness at home surrounded by his loving family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joseph's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.

Services will conclude with Joseph being laid to rest in the Sheffield Mausoleum on the grounds of Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
