Of Taunton, June 10, Grace D. (Levy), age 99, beloved mother of Grace Cummings of Bridgewater, Jacqueline Goldman of Connecticut, Gordon Seekell of Taunton and the late William E. Seekell Jr. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was one of 10 children of a Bridgewater family. Of Easton, June 9, Robert M. "Bob" Sharpe, son of the late John P. and Evelyn G. (Knight) Sharpe; brother of John E. "Jack" Sharpe; also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Rachel (Sanett), of Randolph, formerly of London, England, entered into rest June 10, 2004, beloved wife of the late Sydney Solly Simbolist; devoted mother of Michael and Martha Simbolist of South Easton; loving sister of Manny and Willy Sanett of London, England, and the late Fay Abrahams; cherished grandmother of Lori and William Hallahan and Jill and Greg Tinsley; adored great-grandmother of Sydnie and Cooper Tinsley.
Graveside services at Hebrew Volin Cemetery, off Baker Street, West Roxbury, Sunday, June 13, at 1 p.m. Following interment, memorial observance will be at the home of Michael and Martha Simbolist through Sunday evening. SMITH
Dolores Vareika Mason Smith, age 70, died on Sunday, June 6, in New Orleans, La. She was born in South Boston to Annie M. White Vareika and Michael Vareika. Dolores was a graduate of South Boston High School, after which she entered and served in the U.S. Air Force. Following her honorable discharge from the Air Force, she went to Tulane University where she received both her B.A. and her law degree. She served as Assistant District Attorney of Orleans Parish and ran unsuccessfully for the office of District Attorney in the last election. Dolores was the widow of William Mason Smith III of New Orleans, La., where she lived for many years. She was also the widow of Dr. George Nicholson of Warrenton, Ore., where she is survived by his children. She is also survived by brothers, Lawrence Vareika of Stoughton and William Vareika of Raynham; her sisters, Virginia Zagami of Roslindale and Lorraine Barbone of Walpole; also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Dolores traveled extensively, played golf, tennis and enjoyed painting and her many dogs. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Mass on Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at 10 a.m. at Lake Lawn Metaire Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (inside Metairie Cemetery), New Orleans, LA 70124. Internment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
