Philip Arnold Grant

January 19, 2003

Grant - Philip Arnold of Orient Heights East Boston on Sunday January 19th, 2003.

Devoted husband of Mattie L. (Goldsmith) Grant.

Beloved father of Tanya Goldsmith, Stephan Goldsmith, and June Grant.

Cherished grandfather of 4 grandchildren. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Philip's wishes, funeral services are private.

Philip worked for many years as a stock clerk for Packard Computers in Cambridge. He died after a brief illness at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston..

Daniel Guarente

June 1, 1915 - January 19, 2006

Guarente - Daniel of Revere, formerly of East Boston, passed away suddenly on Thursday January 19th, 2006 in his 90th year.

Beloved husband of the late Mildred (Maffie) Guarente.

Devoted father of Michael E. Guarente and his wife Diane of Revere, Florence Gately of Peabody, Edward Guarente of Billerica, and the late Daniel Guarente.

Dear brother of Enrico "Rico" Guarente of Florida, and the late John Guarente, Margaret, Collette, and Ann Cappuccio.

Cherished grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Ruggiero-Mazzarella Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street (Orient Heights) East Boston on Monday January 23rd, 2006 at 9:00am. Funeral Mass in the Sacred Heart Church, 45 Brooks Street, East Boston at 10:00am. The mass will be officiated by Father Wayne Belschner, Pastor.

Visiting hours are on Sunday January 22nd from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.

Daniel was born in Italy in 1915. He came to the United States as a very young boy, and was a resident of East Boston for most of his life until moving to Revere a year ago. Daniel served his country in the US Army as was a veteran of WWII. He achieved the rank of Sergeant before his discharge, and worked for more than 20 years as a stitcher at Northeastern University. Daniel passed away suddenly at home. He was 89 years of age.

The Memorial Home is handicapped accessible and a children’s lounge is available. Courtesy valet parking at the front entrance and ample off street parking is also available. For transportation to the memorial home please call 617-569-0990.

Services will conclude with a Daniel being laid to rest in St. Michael's Cemetery in Boston.

Salvatore "Sam" Guerra

August 3, 1928 - December 1, 2001

Guerra - Salvatore "Sam" of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston, on Saturday December 1, 2001.

Beloved husband of Rosemarie (DeAngelis) Guerra. Devoted father of Paul Guerra and his wife Maria of Lyman, New Hampshire. Also lovingly survived by two grandchildren, Violette and Emerald.

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday December 4 in St. John the Evangelist Church, 320 Winthrop Street, Winthrop at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are cordially invited. At the request of the family, visiting hours are respectfully omitted.

Salvatore, or Sam as most people new him, was born in Boston in 1928. He served his country in the US Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Sam worked for many years as a carpenter for the Boston Mirror Corporation. He passed away at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center after a brief illness. He was 73 years old.

Services will conclude with Salvatore being laid to rest at the Winthrop Cemetery in Winthrop.

Anna Harrington

December 31, 1912 - September 24, 2002

Harrington - Anna (Morrison) of Medford, formerly of Jamaica Plain, on Tuesday September 24th, 2002 in her 90th year.

Beloved wife of the late Daniel Francis Harrington.

Devoted mother of Christine Forti and her husband John of Medford, John Harrington and his wife Joan (Pignato) of Saugus, Gerald Harrington and his wife June (Stewart) of Medford, Daniel Harrington and his late wife Janet (Rotondi) of Woburn. Loving grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Funeral Service in our chapel at the Ruggiero-Mazzarella Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street (Orient Heights) East Boston on Thursday September 26th at 8:00pm officiated by Rev. Tom Coots. Visiting hours are prior to the service from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.

Anna was born in Nova Scotia in 1912. She was a retired employee of Boston City Hospital where she worked for more than 36 years as a nurses aide. Anna passed away at the Courtyard Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was 89 years of age.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Anna's memory to the Mark Forti Leukemia Fund Inc., "Helping Kids with Cancer", 141 Concord Road, Wayland MA 01778-1426.
