Frank S. Saniuk, 61

Centerville - Frank S. Saniuk, 61, a resident of Centerville, died unexpectedly Feb. 4, 2002, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
He was the husband of Lynn F. (Benedict) Saniuk.
Born, raised and educated in Danbury, Conn., Mr. Saniuk served in the Navy during the Korean War. After the war, he returned to Danbury.
A licensed construction supervisor, he worked in construction for most of his life. He was most recently working for DJG Construction at Southport in Mashpee.
An avid boater, he also enjoyed crossword puzzles and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Saren Rene Kynock of Mashpee; four sons, Scott Aaron Saniuk of Yarmouth, Russell Gunther and Randall Gunther, both of Friendswood, Texas , and Richard Gunther of Chicago; a sister, Lois E. Natale of Troy, Mont.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at the South Congregational Church in Centerville.

Frances Salz, 76

Marstons Mills - Frances (Merklein) Salz, 76, a resident of Marstons Mills, died Feb. 6, 2002, at her home.
She was the wife of Jay S. Salz.
Born in New York City, Mrs. Salz graduated from Mephan High School on Long Island.
She became a Gray Lady with the American Red Cross at Mitchell Field.
Mrs. Salz worked as an executive assistant at the Veatch Program of the Unitarian Church in Plandome, N.Y.
She then became an executive assistant at the National Re Corp. in Stamford, Conn., rising to assistant vice president of corporate communications until retiring and moving to Marstons Mills.
While living in New York, she was past president of the Parents Council at Locust Valley High School and a member of the Unitarian Church of Plandome.
She had a great interest in women's rights organizations. She loved dogs, and raised puppies in New York for the Guide Dog Foundation.
She also enjoyed painting, books, cooking, entertaining, sewing, and designing and making clothes for her children.
Surviving besides her husband are a son, Richard E. Salz of Georgetown; two daughters, Wendy Salz Johnston of Santa Monica, Calif., and Jill Salz Wolf of New York City; a brother, Frank N. Merklein of West Palm Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home in Hyannis.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cape Cod, 923 Route 6A, Yarmouthport, MA 02675; or to the Alzheimer's Association, Cape Cod and the Islands Chapter, P.O. Box 953, Barnstable, MA 02630-0953.

Georgia Bullard, 76

Hyannis - Georgia (Jianos) Bullard, 76, of Hyannis, died Feb. 9, 2002, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
She was the wife of Robert F. Bullard.
Mrs. Bullard was born in Boston and educated in Boston schools. She had resided on Cape Cod for the past 30 years. She was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church and a member of the women's guild.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Arthur T. Bullard of Quincy and Stephan Bullard of New York City; two brothers, Homer Jianos of New York City and Joseph Jianos of Foxboro; and two sisters, Anita Walker of New Mexico and Mary Garfield of California.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis. Burial was in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Francis Xavier Church St. Vincent DePaul Society, Cross St., Hyannis, MA 02601.

Victorine R. Gibson, 89

Osterville - Victorine R. Gibson, 89, a resident of Osterville, died Feb. 7, 2002,. at her home.
She was the wife of professor George Gibson, who died in 1992. They were married in 1939.
Born in Somerville, N.J., the youngest of three girls, Mrs. Gibson graduated from the Columbia School of Nursing in 1934 and, after her marriage, remained an active member of the American Red Cross.
Mrs. Gibson and her husband moved to Osterville in 1975 and were active in the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History and the Osterville Public Library.
Surviving are a son, David of Osterville; a daughter, Janet of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; and four nieces and nephews.

Roland M. Hall, 94

Hyannis - Roland M. Hall, 94, a World War II veteran, died Feb. 8, 2002, at Epoch Senior Care Center in Brewster after a long illness.
He was the former husband of the late Althea (Cowan) Hall.
Mr. Hall was born in Troy, N.Y., but spent most of his life on the Cape, including years in Dennis, Brewster and Hyannis.
Mr. Hall, who started his own ice delivery company and sanitation pick-up business in his early years in Brewster, held a variety of jobs through the years. In addition to running his businesses, he spent time as a school bus driver, a bartender, a manager of the old Graymore Hotel in Hyannis, an aviation and auto mechanic and a home maintenance man. A 1938 graduate of Yarmouth High School, he kept in touch with many of his old friends, and organized many reunions.
He was also an alumnus and active supporter of Boston University.
During World War II, Mr. Hall served in the Navy.
In Brewster and Barnstable, he was active in town government. In the early 1950s, he was among the earliest to introduce the concept of zoning bylaws in Brewster.
He spent the last 40 years in Hyannis. A staunch Republican who enjoyed reading and a good debate, he served as delegate for the town of Barnstable. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, where he served as grand master, enjoyed sports and was known as a lover of pipe smoking.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra L.H. Tubman of Brewster and Lannie Smith Stewart of South Yarmouth; one son, William O. Hall of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; longtime friend Laura O'Neil of Hyannis; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 23 at the John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Road (Route 28) in Marstons Mills.
Donations may be made to Epoch Senior Health Care Scholarship Fund, 873 Harwich Road, Brewster, MA, 02631.

Edward F. 'Ted' Mason, 78

Marstons Mills - Edward F. "Ted" Mason, 78, formerly of Brockton and Wareham, died Feb. 8, 2002, at his home following a brief illness with lung cancer.
He was the husband of Lorraine E. (Kiley) Mason.
Mr. Mason was born in Brockton and was a graduate of Brockton High School, where he was a star athlete. He was a decorated World War II veteran, serving in the Marine Corps.
Mr. Mason served as a Brockton postal worker for 30 years, retiring in 1975. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Little Harbor Country Club in Wareham.
Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Paul K. Mason of Sandwich, Peter E. Mason of Falmouth and Thomas P. Mason of Marstons Mills; and three granddaughters.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in Christ the King Church in Mashpee. Burial was in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.

Danny E. O'Mara, 45

Osterville - Danny E. O'Mara, 45, a resident of Osterville and Manchester, Maine, died Feb. 11, 2002, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
Born and raised in Worcester, Mr. O'Mara was a cook at the Barnstable Tavern.
He was an avid Red Sox fan.
Surviving are his mother, Jean Reid of Hyannis; five sisters, Mary J. Egan of Dennis, Pat A. O'Mara of Osterville, Kasey R. Kelly of Weymouth, Peggyann Muir of Manchester, Maine, and Patricia D. Hussey of Saugus; three brothers, John B. Scarry of San Francisco, Kevin F. O'Mara of Bridgewater and Thomas Reid of Rhode Island; and several nieces and nephews.
He also leaves behind his beloved dog, "Elvis."
A gathering of family and friends was held at the Barnstable Tavern in Barnstable Village.

Ralph H. Packard, 78

Venice, Fla. - Ralph H. Packard, 78, a resident of Venice and formerly of Barnstable Village, died Feb. 8, 2002.
He was the husband of Wilma Packard.
Born in Haverhill, Mr. Packard graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. A veteran, he sailed as an officer on various ships during World War II.
He lived in Lexington from 1950 until retiring to Barnstable in 1986. He then moved to Venice in 2000. He retired as vice president and export manager of an international freight forwarder in Boston.
Mr. Packard was a Mason, a former member of Cummaquid Golf Club and a vice president and trustee of Sturgis Library of Cape Cod. He was also a member of the Venice United Church of Christ.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Stephen Packard of Burlington, Mass., and Gary Packard of Venice; and three grandchildren.
