Kevin Ward Loughman, 54
Manassas, Va. - Kevin Ward Loughman, 54, a resident of Manassas and formerly of Osterville, died Nov. 30, 2001, at INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church.
Born in Boston, Mr. Loughman grew up in Osterville and graduated from Sacred Heart in Kingston. He lived on Cape Cod before moving to Virginia.
He was a veteran, serving in Vietnam with the 173rd Airborne.
Mr. Loughman was an avid golfer.
Surviving are two daughters, Julia F. Jewett of Clifton Park, N.Y., and Jacqueline C. Loughman of Saugus, Mass.; two sons, Derek W. Loughman of West Yarmouth and Daniel F. Loughman of Saugus, Mass.; two sisters, Kathleen Grenier of Hubbardston, Mass., and Denise Feighery of Riverside, Conn.; a brother, Brian Loughman of Hoboken, N.J.; his fiancee, Sheryl Irwin of Manassas; a stepson, William R. Irwin of Fairfax; and two stepgrandchildren.
A memorial service was held at Price Funeral Home in Manassas, with a graveside service following in Mosswood Cemetery
in Cotuit.
Robert C. Maher, 81
Worcester - Robert C. Maher, 81, a resident Worcester and Centerville, died Dec. 2, 2001, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center.
Born in Worcester, Mr. Maher graduated from Classical High School and Boston College.
He was a disabled Navy veteran, serving in World War II as a lieutenant in the South Pacific.
Since 1954, Mr. Maher had been a Realtor and partner in Maher Associates.
He was a noted advocate for the elderly in the Worcester area.
He volunteered for the Committee on Aging. In 1963, he helped found the Age Center of Worcester Area, and in 1970, he was appointed to the newly formed Council on Aging, later the Commission on Elder Affairs.
He was chairman of the commission for 18 years.
In 1981, Mr. Maher was appointed a congressional delegate to the White House Conference on Aging by Rep. Joseph D. Early to represent his district, approximately all of Central Massachusetts.
He also helped organize benefits for health-related charities and many other civic and social agencies, including the Worcester Children's Friend Society, the Worcester Art Museum, the Age Center of Worcester, the Entre Actors Guild, the Mechanics Hall renovation and the Heritage Society.
He was a member of the St. Vincent Guild and served as general chairman for Boston Pops concerts to support the hospital. He was also president of the St. Vincent Hospital Research Foundation.
The Greater Worcester Board of Realtors named him Realtor of the Year in 1976. In 1977, he was the good neighbor award recipient of the Congregation Beth Israel Brotherhood. He was honored by the Worcester City Council in 1978. He received the Community Service Medallion from Worcester State College in 1982.
Surviving are two brothers, Thomas F. Maher of Worcester and Edward C. Maher of Shrewsbury; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass was celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church in Worcester, with burial following in St. John's Cemetery.

Patrick O'Connor, 90
Hyannis - Patrick O'Connor, 90, a resident of Hyannis, died Nov. 5, 2001, at Cape Cod Hospital Extended Care Pavilion in Hyannis.
Born in Ireland, Mr. O'Connor graduated from Boston College High School, Holy Cross College and the University of Cambridge, England.
He was an Army veteran, serving in World War II.
Mr. O'Connor retired from Boston Technical High School as head of the English department.
Surviving are a sister, Margaret O'Connor of Hyannis.
A memorial Mass was celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis.
Miriam Price, 78
Cummaquid - Miriam "Dur" (Duryea) Price, 78, a resident of Cummaquid, died Dec. 4, 2001, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis after a brief stay associated with a chronic illness.
She was the wife of Warren L. Price for 58 years.
Mrs. Price graduated from Northampton School for Girls and received a bachelor's degree from Smith College in Northampton.
She married her high school sweetheart, a naval officer, while he was on leave during World War II.
After spending much of her life in Winchester, she lived on Cape Cod for 30 years.
After raising her children, Mrs. Price returned to her passion for education, earning a master's degree. She became a professor of history and American government at the University of Massachusetts.
Mrs. Price enjoyed hearing from students she had taught years before, many of whom credited her with inspiring them to a life in public service.
She was active in charity work, especially for her local church and Smith College.
Surviving besides her husband are a daughter, Deborah Cressman of Duxbury; two sons, William Price of South Burlington, Vt., and Timothy Price of Annapolis, Md.; a brother, William D. Duryea II; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Barnstable.

Huldah Warren Scott, 81
Cummaquid - Huldah Warren Scott, 81, a resident of Cummaquid, died Dec. 4, 2001, at her home after a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late William Henry Scott.
Born in Raleigh, N.C., Mrs. Scott graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1943.
She worked for the U.S. Committee for UNICEF for many years.
Most recently, she volunteered for the Cancer Thrift Shop in Barnstable and the Cape Cod Cancer Consignment Exchange in Yarmouthport.
Surviving are a son, Andy Scott of Atlanta; a daughter, Ann Hill of Barnstable; and four grandchildren.

Dr. Mildred Shea, 77
Hyannis - Dr. Mildred (Black) Shea, 77, a resident of Hyannis, died Dec. 3, 2001..
She was the wife of Dr. John Shea, who died in 1968.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., and Long Island, Dr. Black was a graduate of the former Our Lady of Wisdom Academy in Queens, as well as the College of New Rochelle and the New York Medical College in Westchester.
She worked as an anesthesiologist the Henry Heywood Memorial Hospital from 1968 to 1974, and also retired from the staff of Cape Cod Hospital in 1987.
Surviving are a son, John F. Shea of Boston; three daughters, Dr. Moira Shea of West Falmouth, Emily Leone of Canton and Alice Mecca of Colchester, Conn.; a sister, Doris Schaefer of West Islip, Long Island, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Hope Church in West Barnstable.

Norah E. Stukey, 95
Hyannis - Norah Evelyn Stukey, 95, a resident of Hyannis, died Dec. 4, 2001, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
She was the wife of the late Dearl Lester Stukey.
Mrs. Stukey lived in Cambridge for many years and moved to South Yarmouth in 1969.
She worked for Elbry Ford in Cambridge for 20 years.
Mrs. Stukey was a member of the Evangelical Baptist Church in South Yarmouth.
Surviving are a daughter, Doris Olsen of Sarasota, Fla., and Cape Cod; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Betty Waywell.
Burial was held in Puritan Lawn Cemetery
in Peabody.
