Edwin M. Deal, 82

Cotuit - Edwin M. Deal, 82, a resident of Cotuit and formerly of West Bloomfield, Mich., died Nov. 26, 2001, at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston.
He was the husband of Virginia (Merrill) Deal of Cotuit.
Born in Port Huron, Mich., Dr. Deal graduated from the University of Michigan with a master's in business administration and a doctorate in law.
He was a Coast Guard veteran, serving in Okinawa during World War II.
Mr. Deal was a tax attorney for Ford Motor Co. for more than 25 years.
He moved to Cotuit in 1979 and was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Barnstable.
Surviving besides his wife are two cousins.
Burial was in St. Mary's Episcopal Church Memorial Garden, followed by a memorial service at the church in Barnstable.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Barnstable, MA 02630; or to a charity of one's choice.

William Hedge Delano, 92

Jonesboro, Ga. - William Hedge Delano, 92, of Jonesboro, died Nov. 21, 2001, at his home.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Una Best Delano.
Mr. Delano was born in Plymouth and attended Plymouth schools. He attended the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky, and Tufts University in Medford.
After college, Mr. Delano was employed as assistant manager at the Personal Finance Co. in Plymouth. He opened and managed their Hyannis office.
During World War II, Mr. Delano served for more than four years in the Southwest Pacific in the 5th Air Force Division as a CWO/master marine with the 14th Emergency Rescue Boat Squadron. He participated in nine campaigns and in the liberation of the Philippines.
Mr. Delano was an employed in the textile industry from 1960 to 1993, when he retired as chief executive officer of Paris Manufacturing Co.
He lived in Centerville, Osterville and Hyannis during his time on Cape Cod, moving to Georgia 40 years ago.
He was a member of the Fraternal Masonic Lodge, AF & AM in Centerville, and a member of Jones Memorial Methodist Church in Forest Park, Ga.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, Robert W. Delano of Lake Lanier; two daughters, Una Penny Waters of Cumming and Pamela Gilbert of Jonesboro; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at Tara Garden Chapel in Jonesboro. Burial of his cremains will be in Beechwood Cemetery in Centerville at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Fraternal Lodge AF & AM Building Fund, 1989 Falmouth Road, Centerville, MA 02632.

Lillian A. Golden, 98

Dennisport - Lillian A. (Lewis) Golden, 98, a resident of Dennisport, died Nov. 27, 2001, at her home.
She was the wife of the late Dr. Joseph F. Golden.
Born in New Brunswick, Canada, Mrs. Golden moved to Dorchester with her family in 1906.
Mrs. Golden was one of the first 13 licensed women pilots in New England. She was a member of the 99ers, a women's flying organization of which Amelia Earhart was the first president.
Mrs. Golden was a securities clerk at the Federal Reserve Bank in Boston for many years.
She was a formerly a resident of Canton and a longtime resident of Stoughton. She moved to Dennisport in the late 1940s.
A singer, Mrs. Golden performed at Cape Cod restaurants including the Paddock, Mitchell's and the Captain's Chair.
Surviving are a sister, Marion L. Morgan of Dennisport; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation was held in Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home in South Dennis.

Robert Harris, 72

West Yarmouth - Robert Harris, 72, a resident of West Yarmouth, died Nov. 21, 2001, at the Pavilion Cape Cod Hospital Extended Care Community after a long struggle with heart and lung disease.
He was the husband of Marilyn (Perkins) Harris for 25 years.
Mr. Harris was a 25-year resident of Cape Cod. Prior to moving to the Cape, he was a custom home and remodeling contractor in the Worcester area. Mr. Harris worked for the Lewis Bay Marina and at Town Paint in Hyannis for many years as the tool and hardware department manager.
Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Robert Harris Jr. of Oxford, Herbert Harris of Las Vegas, Nev., and Timothy Harris of Holden; two daughters, Florence DuBay of Fairfield, Maine, and Melissa Schmidth of Henderson, Nev.; two sisters, Helen Mitchell of South Thomaston, Maine, and Barbara Powell of Thelma, Ala.; five grandchildren; four stepchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 16 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Route 28, Hyannis.

Elizabeth A. 'Betty' Kelley, 80

West Yarmouth - Elizabeth A. "Betty" (Barry) Kelley, 80, a resident of West Yarmouth, died Nov. 27, 2001, at her home.
She was the wife of Charles J. Kelley Jr. of West Yarmouth for 53 years.
Born and raised in Marstons Mills, Mrs. Kelley attended Barnstable High School.
She married, became a homemaker and moved to West Yarmouth, where she lived ever since.
Family was most important in her life. She enjoyed clambakes, crossword puzzles and animals.
Surviving besides her husband are a son, Richard M. Kelley of Brewster; two daughters, Catherine L. Hassett of Brewster and Eileen F. Gregory of Sandwich; two brothers, James Barry of South Dennis and Edward Barry of Marstons Mills; a sister, Helen Hazelton of Centerville; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1115 W. Chestnut St., Brockton, MA 02401.

Myrtle Harriman Larkin, 86

Winchester - Myrtle Harriman Larkin, 86, a former resident of Centerville and Antrim, N.H., died Nov. 24, 2001, at Winchester Hospital.
She was the wife of Sydney Larkin, who died in 1989.
Born in New Bedford, Mrs. Larkin lived in Centerville and Fairfield, Conn., before moving to Arlington in 1989.
She was a member of the Pleasant Street Congregational Church in Arlington.
Surviving are two sons, Peter Larkin of Waltham and John Larkin of New York City; two daughters, Sara Larkin of Annapolis, Md., and Lynne Larkin of Arlington; a sister, Thelma Cardoza of Watertown; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at the Pleasant Street Congregational Church in Arlington. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery, Antrim, N.H.
Memorial donations may be made to the Pleasant Street Congregational Church, 75 Pleasant St., Arlington, MA 02476.

John S. Lebel, 84

Osterville - John S. Lebel, 84, of Osterville, died Dec. 1, 2001, at Hospice House in Barnstable.
Mr. Lebel was born in Braintree, moved to the Cape in 1927, and attended Barnstable High School and Mount St. Mary's College in Maryland.
He worked as a carpenter at Camp Edwards and worked at the Fore River Shipyard in Quincy prior to his service in World War II, when he served in the Navy with the Seabees in the Pacific Theater.
A builder and real estate agent, Mr. Lebel was president of Lebel Construction and Lebel Realty Inc. He built churches, banks and homes, had a home inspection service and was building inspector for Barnstable. He served as chairman of the Barnstable Planning Board, vice president of Independence Park, and treasurer of "Project Coach."
Mr. Lebel was a volunteer at Cape Cod Hospital for 12 years and a volunteer with Mental Health Services.
Surviving are two sons, John S. Lebel Jr. of Mashpee and Gregory O. Lebel of Osterville; two daughters, Patricia Lang of Laurence Harbor, N.J., and Taf Schaefer of Arnold, Md.; a brother, Paul T. Lebel of Osterville; a sister, Marie Aylmer of Hyannis; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his former wife, Corine (Hill) Lebel of Osterville.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville, with burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery there.
