Gary J. Baker, 30
Centerville - Gary J. Baker, 30, of Centerville, died unexpectedly June 17, 2001, in South Dennis.
He was born in Hyannis and attended Dennis-Yarmouth schools.
He was a motorcycle enthusiast who raced motorcycles from Laconia, N.H., to Daytona Beach, Fla. For the past several years, he lived in Florida while pursuing the sport of motorcycle racing.
He. worked as a subcontractor in construction, auto mechanics and auto body repair.
He leaves his father, Arthur P. Baker of Kennebunk, Maine; his mother, Mary J. (Medeiros) Baker of Centerville; two daughters, MacKenzie Jean Baker of Ocala, Fla., and Danielle Ruth Peterson of Penacook, N.H.; two sisters, Kim Baker of South Dennis, and Angella Baker of Ocala, Fla.; two brothers, Kyle Baker and Ryan Baker, both of Kennebunk, Maine; his paternal grandmother, Barbara E. Baker of South Yarmouth; his maternal grandmother, Evelyn Gray of Hyannis; and many aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles and several cousins.
A funeral service was held in the Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home in Hyannis. Burial was private.

Waldon S. Caldwell, 96
Centerville - Waldon S. Caldwell, 96, of Centerville died June 21, 2001, in the Cape Regency Nursing Home in Centerville.
He was the husband of the late Marguerite T. (Gebelein) Caldwell.
Mr. Caldwell lived many years in Framingham and Sherborn. He was a 50-year employee of the Framingham Trust Company, from which he retired as president in 1968.
He and his wife moved to Centerville when he retired.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Osterville. He also was a member of the Osterville Men's Club and past treasurer of the Cape Cod Horticultural Society. He was active in the Masons.
Mr. Caldwell was a past high priest of the Concord Royal Arch Chapter, past master of the Middlesex Lodge of Framingham and a member of the Cotuit Mariners Lodge.
He is survived by two daughters, Barbara Hamilton of Ashland and Derry DeCenzo of West Hyannisport; a nephew and godson, Bruce Hemmeon of Framingham; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held in the United Methodist Church in Osterville. Burial was private.

Clyde G. Crowe, 80
Hyannis - Clyde G. Crowe, 80, of Hyannis, died June 22, 2001, at Cape Cod Hospital after an illness,
He was the husband of Dorothy "Jean" (Foster) Crowe of Hyannis.
He was born in Oskaloosa, Kan., and raised and educated in Kansas.
Mr. Crowe was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European and African theaters. He was awarded several campaign ribbons and the Victory Medal.
He lived briefly in Portland, Maine, before moving to Hyannis. He worked for several years as a mechanic at the Billy Madden Garage, and for 35 years for the government at Otis Air Force Base. He retired in the mid-1980s, after which he worked for a time at Franey Labs as a courier.
Mr. Crowe was a frequent blood donor to the Red Cross. He had a rare type that was always needed.
He was an avid bowler and won several trophies and awards. He enjoyed boating, fishing and the restoring of antique cars.
In his younger days, he played in the Cape Cod Softball League as a pitcher for the Centerville Rams, where he was known as "Red Crowe."
In addition to his wife, he leaves two daughters, Susan J. Crowe of Hyannis and Dorothy Jean Poole of Sandwich; two sisters, Pearl Yeager and Mildred Delplace, both of Pittsburgh, Kan.; two grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held in the John-Lawrence Funeral Home in Marstons Mills. Burial was in Massachusetts National Cemetery
in Bourne.

Theresa C. Davignon, 80
Mashpee - Theresa Catherine (Manghan) Davignon, 80, died June 17, 2001, in Eagle Pond Nursing Home in South Dennis.
She was the wife of Edgar J. Davignon, who died in 1974.
She was born in Fairhaven, and was a graduate of Fairhaven High School.
Mrs. Davignon was a longtime resident of Yarmouthport, and lived in Mashpee for the past 20 years.
She was a supervisor for the Barnstable Registry of Deeds for many years. After her retirement, she volunteered at the Mashpee Senior Center for 14 years. She received an award for service from the Mashpee Senior Citizens Center Meals program.
She was a member of Christ the King Church in Mashpee, and a former member of the Yarmouthport Friday Club. She was an avid reader and quilt-maker.
Mrs. Davignon is survived by three daughters, Duane Houle of West Yarmouth, Laine Davignon of South Yarmouth and Melba McCarthy of Ohio; a son, Edgar Davignon of South Yarmouth; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held in the Hallett Funeral Homein South Yarmouth, with burial following at Ancient Cemetery
in Yarmouthport.

James C. 'Fletch' Fletcher Jr., 77
Centerville - James C. "Fletch" Fletcher Jr., 77, of Centerville, died June 16, 2001, at Windsor Nursing Home in South Yarmouth.
Mr. Fletcher was born and raised in Locust Point, Baltimore. He spent summer vacations on Cape Cod with his sister and her family, until moving to Centerville permanently in 1994.
Mr. Fletcher served in the Army during World War II in the 44th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron, Troop B, earning numerous medals. After the war, he worked for Bethlehem Shipbuilding Co. as a welder, then for the City of Baltimore as a welder and later a shop steward until his retirement in 1985.
He was an avid fan of the University of Maryland basketball team, and the Orioles and the Ravens. He was a member of VFW #2578 and the American Legion, Post #0188.
Surviving are a sister, Lillian "Bitty" Jones of Centerville; a nephew, James C. Jones of Palm City, Fla.; two great-nieces and a great-nephew; and two great-great nieces.
Burial will be in Baltimore at a later date.

Mary Elizabeth Goddard
Kennebunk, Maine - Mary Elizabeth "Betty" (Dix) Goddard, of Kennebunk, formerly of Marstons Mills, died June 18, 2001, at her home.
She was the wife of Harold Goddard, who died in 1999.
Mrs. Goddard was born in Ashland and attended Abbott Academy in Andover. She was a graduate of Bradford Junior College in Bradford.
She was an assistant librarian at Merrimac Valley Textile Museum in North Andover for more than 20 years.
She was active with the Andover Garden Club.
She leaves two sons, Clifford T. Goddard of Bradford and John M. Goddard of Kennebunkport, Maine; a sister, Marion Hamilton of Westboro; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services were held in Spring Grove Cemetery
in Andover.

Alice Frances Cuddeback Hamblin, 75
Seattle Alice Frances Cuddeback Hamblin, 75, a former resident of Marstons Mills, passed away April 11, 2001, at the University of Washington Medical Center.
She was the wife of Francis Hamblin, who described her as "my very closest friend for nearly three quarters of a century."
A graduate of the University of Maryland, she pursued graduate work at Pennsylvania State University in sociology. She was a member of many organizations.
Mrs. Hamblin is remembered for her intelligence and independence of thought, her great kindness and charm of character, her infectious sense of humor, and her irrepressibly blithe spirit.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Cheney Jane Huston of Gaithersburg, Md. and Amy Shaff Hamblin of Seattle; a son, Stephen Richard Hamblin of Seattle; two brothers, Howard Cuddeback of Englewood, Fla. and John Cuddeback of Canandaigua, NY.
A memorial service will be held in July 27 in Seattle.
