Esther J. Heck, 80

Osterville - Esther J. (Engellau) Heck, 80, an Osterville resident for the past 28 years, died Aug. 30, 2000, at the Cape Cod Hospital Extended Care Community - Pavilion in Hyannis.

She was the wife of Adam C. Heck.

Born and raised in New York City, Mrs. Heck was a resident of Osterville for 28 years. She was a member of the Oyster Harbors Club and the Ladies Bowling League in Hyannis.

She also enjoyed gardening and reading.

Surviving besides her husband are a son, Gary Heck of Zionsville, Ind.; a daughter, Judy Heck of Arlington; and two grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Cape Cod Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 370, Hyannis, MA 02601-9978.

Nils A. Idman, 72

Harwich - Nils A. Idman, 72, a retired businessman, died Aug. 25, 2000, at his home after a long illness.

He was the husband of Florence (Glazebrook) Idman for nearly 50 years.

Born in Norwood and raised in Walpole, he graduated from Walpole High School and Franklin Technical School in Boston.

Mr. Idman served twice in the Army, first in Japan in 1947 and again during the Korean War when he was stationed in France.

Returning to the States, he owned Nils' Arco in Walpole for 13 years and later owned and operated the Moby Dick Motel in Harwich for six years.

Mr. Idman was also involved with business brokerage and real estate for several years as well as the management of the Yachtsman Condominiums in Hyannis and Seaport Condominiums in Key Colony Beach, Fla.

Most recently, he was employed by Warren Buick in Hyannis.

Mr. Idman was a longtime member of Masonic Lodge A.F.&A.M. in Walpole and a member of the Rotary.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Frank Tavano of Harwich; and five grandchildren.

He was also the father of the late David A.W. Idman.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Sept. 9 at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 204 Monument Road, Orleans, with burial to follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne,

Mildred Joslyn, 93

West Yarmouth - Mildred (Boylan) Joslyn, 93, formerly of Hyannis, died Aug. 30, 2000, at Mayflower Place in West Yarmouth.

She was the wife of Robert C. Joslyn who died in 1967.

Mrs. Joslyn was born and raised in Providence, R.I., and graduated from Rhode Island College in 1928. She lived in Boston for 25 years before moving to the Cape in 1953.

Mrs. Joslyn worked for Beneficial Finance Corp. for 30 years, retiring in 1972. After her retirement, she was a volunteer for Cape Cod Hospital Aid for 15 years.

Surviving are a son, Robert Joslyn of North Miami Beach, Fla., and a grandson, Michael Joslyn of Miami.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Cape Cod, 923 Main St., Yarmouthport, MA 02675; or to Our Lady of Victory Church, Centerville, MA 02632.

Candace 'Candy' Kelley, 41

Norway, Maine - Candace "Candy" Kelley, 41, a former resident of Hyannisport, died unexpectedly Aug. 28, 2000, at her home in Norway.

She was the daughter of Francis H. and Margaret M. (Bernard) Kelley of Buzzards Bay.

Born in Boston, she was a graduate of Barnstable High School.

She loved animals and worked as a groomer at the Holly Hill Farm and Stable in Marstons Mills and at Lady Gray Stable in Norway.

Surviving besides her parents are three sisters, Pamela Burkley and Kim O'Rourke, both of Hyannis, and Karen M. Kelley of Centerville; a brother, John F. Kelley of Scituate; and nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the MSPCA, 1577 Falmouth Road, Centerville, MA 02632.

Lilo Nacinovich, 88

Cotuit - Lilo (Wolff) Nacinovich, 88, a Cotuit resident since 1988, died Aug. 28, 2000, at the Cape Regency Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Centerville.

She was the wife of the late Peter Nacinovich.

Born in Hamburg, Germany, Mrs. Nacinovich left in 1936 for France and England. In 1938, she moved to Havana, Cuba.

She lived and worked in Cuba until 1940 when she moved to New York City, where she owned her own business.

Mrs. Nacinovich moved to Cotuit in 1988. She spoke five languages.

Surviving are a daughter, Joyce Padgett of Cotuit; a granddaughter; and a niece.

Julio D. Paglieroni, 69

Marlboro - Julio D. Paglieroni, 69, a business owner, died Aug. 30, 2000, of lymphocytic leukemia at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

He was the husband of Joan (Sobrero) Paglieroni for 45 years.

Born in Boston, Mr. Paglieroni was a resident of Sudbury for 40 years before moving to Marlboro in 1997. He had also lived in Cummaquid.

An Army veteran, Mr. Paglieroni served in the Korean War as a sergeant and was a Purple Heart recipient. Before going overseas, he was an honor guard to former President Harry S. Truman and at the Tomb of The Unknown Soldier.

At the time of his death, Mr. Paglieroni was the owner of JAMN Inc. Auto Sales in Northboro. He was the former owner of Gateway Lincoln-Mercury Co. in Framingham before his retirement.

He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Sudbury and a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th degree.

Mr. Paglieroni was a sponsor of Sudbury Youth Hockey for several years, a member of the men's softball team, a member of Kiwanis International in Sudbury, active in the men's bowling league in Sudbury and an avid golfer.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, David M. Paglieroni of Northboro and Stephen P. Paglieroni of Shrewsbury; a daughter, Judith A. Dion of Framingham; a brother, Valentino Paglieroni of Watertown; his twin sister, Santa Hoyt of Amesbury; and four grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia Society of America, Massachusetts Chapter, 495 Old Connecticut Path, Framingham, MA 01701.

Clement C. 'Copey' Rogers, 83

Hyannis - Clement C. "Copey" Rogers, 83, of Hyannis, died Aug. 22, 2000, at the Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.

He was the husband of the late Virginia M. (Duchesney) Clement.

Born in Brewster, Mr. Rogers was educated in the Brewster and Barnstable school systems.

He drove a truck for E.C. Hall for 23 years. Mr. Rogers was employed by the town of Barnstable Department of Public Works for 20 years and worked as a call firefighter for the Hyannis Fire Department. He was also an auxiliary policeman for 25 years in Barnstable.

Mr. Rogers was a member of the Elks Club, the West Barnstable Deer Club, and he was a member of the Federated Church in Hyannis. He played baseball on the Cape for many years.

Surviving are two sons, Leonard C. Rogers of Naples, Fla., and Robert C. Rogers of Centerville; a brother, Ralph Rogers of Walpole; three sisters, Dorothy Hanker of Nyack, N.Y., Blanche Merriem of Sandwich and Irma Wilkenson of Hyannis; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Edith M. Slade, 78

Foxboro - Edith M. Slade, 78, who summered in Hyannis for many years, died Aug. 27, 2000, at her home.

She was the wife of William W. Slade, who died Aug. 17.

Born in Malden, Mrs. Slade lived for 23 years in Sarasota, Fla., before moving to Foxboro three months ago.

She and her husband summered in Hyannis for many years.

Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn S. Kressley of Seekonk and Janice S. Spaulding of Newton; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Mary Comerford Spellman, 68

Centerville - Mary Comerford Spellman, 68, of Centerville, died Aug. 29, 2000, at her home.

She was the wife of the late Edward J. Spellman.

Mrs. Spellman was born in Framingham, attended Sacred Heart and earned her degree from Manhattanville College.

She married and raised her family in Weston, Stamford, Conn., and Centerville.

She enjoyed travel, equestrian pursuits, needlework, music and tennis.

Surviving are her five children, Sarah Blake Cates of Landenberg, Pa., Pamela Blake Cates of Grafton, Britt Blake of Spokane, Wash., Whitney Blake of Southern Pines, N.C., and Hillary Blake Mandell of New Canaan, Conn.; two brothers, Frank Comerford and John Comerford; and five grandchildren.

Lorna Sullivan, 61

Hyannis - Lorna Sullivan, 61, a resident of Hyannis, died Aug. 27, 2000, at Cape Cod Hospital.

She was the wife of Daniel Sullivan.

Mrs. Sullivan was born in Queens, N.Y. She lived for many years in Stratford, Conn., where she taught at St. Joseph High School in Trumbull for 20 years.

Three years ago, Mrs. Sullivan moved to Hyannis. She especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Maureen Gonzales of Philadelphia, Kevin Sullivan of Los Angeles, and twins Daniel Sullivan of Fairfield, Conn., and Lorna Hempel of Philadelphia; a brother, Brian Kennedy of New Jersey; a sister, Janet Arnold of Long Island, N.Y.; two granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
