Anthony P. Kraskouskas, 92
Gardner - Anthony P. Kraskouskas, 92, a business founder and Dennisport summer resident, died Friday, March 3, 2000 in his home after an illness.
He was the husband of Annie F. (Laucaseviciuis) Kraskouskas, who died in 1998.
Mr. Kraskouskas was born in Thomas, West Virginia, and raised in Shinston, where he graduated from Shinston High School.
He was a resident of Gardner for 74 years, where he was the founder of Anthony's Liquor Mart and Anthony's Plaza. He also founded and owner the S.K. Block Co., now Dow Concrete Inc.
Mr. Kraskouskas also founded the Holy Spirit Church, where he was a communicant and former lector.
He was a member of the Greater Gardner Chamber of Commerce, Knights of Columbus, Council 396 of Gardner, Bishop Beaver 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Knights of Lithuania of Athol and Lithuanian Outing Association.
Mr. Kraskouskas was also a member of the South Gardner Historical Association and an organizer of the South Gardner Community Association.
For many years, he was a member of the Board of Directors of Heywood Hospital and a member of the Colonial Co-Operative Bank. He was also a chairman of the Parks and Recreation Commission of Gardner and a member of the Gardner Industrial Park Commission.
Mr. Kraskouskas was a member of the Greater Gardner Exchange Club, Gardner Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, Gardner Rotary Club and Gardner Eagles.
He was a summer resident of Dennisport for many years.
He is survived by three sons, Anthony P. Kraskouskas Jr. of Gardner, James P. Kraskouskas of Centerville and Peter A Kraskouskas of Westminster; a daughter, Louise K. Giacoppe of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two brothers, John J. Kraskouskas and Peter P. Kraskouskas, both of Gardner; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were followed by a Mass of Christian burial in the Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell Street, South Gardner. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery.

Wanda Myrtle Kraus, 86
Centerville - Wanda Myrtle (Casebolt) Kraus, 86, died Saturday, March 4, 2000 following a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late Walter Raymond Kraus.
Born on a farm near Cedar Vale, Kan., she moved to Cedar Vale in 1920 and graduated from Cedar Vale High School in 1931.
Following her high school graduation, she attended one year at Hutchinson Junior College and then one year at Pittsburg Kansas State Teachers College, completing the work needed for her Life Teaching Certification. She then taught elementary school for two years in Arlington, Kan. For several years after marriage, Mrs. Kraus devoted herself to being a homemaker and helping in the family owned general store. She later resumed college part-time, attaining her bachelor's degree at Sterling College, Kan., in 1961. While completing and after attaining her degree Mrs. Kraus taught elementary school in Abbyville and Partridge, Kan., retiring only after her husband sold and retired from the general store in Arlington.
Mrs. Kraus was an active member of the Arlington United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She was an avid seamstress, knitter and later, maker of macramé, winning a Kansas State Fair Championship for one of her wall hangings.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Arnold Kraus of Cotuit and John Harl Kraus of Westminster, Md.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at the Osterville United Methodist Church, 57 Pond St., Osterville.
Burial was at Arlington, Kansas Cemetery. Another service will be held at a later date for friends and family in Arlington, Kan.

Wilma M. Morse, 97
Temple, Tex. - Wilma Moore Morse, 97, formerly of Osterville, died Wednesday, March 1, 2000 in Temple.
She was the wife of the late Albert A. Morse. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary prior to his death in 1992.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Morse lived in Brooklyn for 29 years; Newton, Mass., for 31 years; Osterville for 24 years and in Temple for 14 years. She attended Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School and was a legal secretary prior to her marriage.
She also worked for Babson's Institute, All-Newton Music School and for the Newton (Mass.) School Department for a number of years.
Surviving are a son, the Rev. Kenneth J. Morse of Temple; a daughter, Barbara M. McNay of Killeen; a sister, Adele M. Machurek of Sykesville, Md.; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service were held at the Sheffield Funeral Home in Temple.
Dorothy B. Munger, 79
Osterville - Dorothy Burghard Munger, 79, a resident of Osterville, died Wednesday, March 1, 2000 of cancer at her home.
She was the wife of Harold N. Munger and Oliver Allen Vietor, who died in 1992.
Born in Newark, N.J., Mrs. Munger lived most of her early life in Rumson, N.J., and New York City. She drove buses and trucks at night during World War II, ferrying wounded soldiers from ships to hospitals.
In 1978, she and her husband, Oliver, moved to Dorset, Vt., where she owned and operated Gilbert's Hardware Store.
Mrs. Munger was a talented gardener and artist. From 1955 to 1978, she held various leadership positions in the Garden Club of America, including vice president. For her skill, generosity and keen love of beauty, she was awarded the Katharine Thomas Cary National Medal by the GCA in 1971 and twice won the prestigious Fenwick Medal.
She was also a flower arranging teacher and a leader and officer of the Rumson Garden Club. She remained active in the Bennington Garden Club and the gardening community elsewhere for many years.
A fine athlete and skilled golfer, she was a member of the Ekwanok Club in Manchester, Vt., where she served on the board of governors. She was also an accomplished painter, member and officer of the Southern Vermont Arts Center and recognized for her mastery.
Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Anita Susanne Vietor Lawrence of Freeport, Maine, and Dorothy Vietor Parsons of Leeds; two stepsons, Mark T. Munger and Jeffrey H. Munger, both of Cambridge; a brother, Frederick J. Burghard Jr. of Naples, Fla.; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and three nieces and a nephew.
A memorial service will be held at St. Peter's Church in Osterville at a later date.

Priscilla M. Riley, 98
Tisbury - Priscilla M. Riley, 98, a Martha's Vineyard resident since 1951, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000 at the Windemere Nursing Facility.
She was the wife of the late Samuel Riley.
Born in Warren, R.I., Mrs. Riley and her husband moved to the island in 1951.
She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Vineyard Haven, the Martha's Vineyard Seacoast Defense Chapter of the American Revolution and the Oriental Chapter No. 73, Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are two nieces, Sarah Beth Hoffman of Cotuit and Jennifer Lee Lodge of Wiscasset, Maine, and Oak Bluffs; two nephews, Hector Asselin of Tisbury and the Rev. William Romer of Rochester, N.H.; a grandniece; two grandnephews; five great-grandnieces; and three great-grandnephews.
A funeral service was held at the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road, Oak Bluffs.
Robert H. Watters Jr., 56
Hyannis - Robert H. Watters Jr., 56, died Friday, March 3, 2000 at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis after a long illness.
He was the husband of Beverly J. (Cottle) Watters.
Born in Marianna, Fla., he was raised in the Barnstable-Cummaquid area. He graduated from Barnstable High School and served in the Air Force in Vietnam.
After returning from Vietnam, he settled in Hyannis and worked for Cape Cod Hospital for over 30 years.
He was an avid golfer and fisherman. He also coached youth hockey and Little League and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Hyannis.
Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Girard "Jerry"" R. Watters of West Hartford, Conn., and Garet J. Watters of Maryland; two daughters, Kristyn L. Watters of Boston and Keven M. Babcock of Nashville, Tenn.; his mother, Shirley Watters Davenport of Hyannis; a brother, John F. Watters of Barnstable; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held at the Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 W. Main St., Hyannis. Burial followed at the Massachusetts National Cemetery
in Bourne.

Leonard D. 'Buddy' Bacon, 77
Hyannis - Leonard D. "Buddy" Bacon, 77, a second-generation Cape Codder and lifelong Hyannis resident, died March 7, 2000 at Cape Cod Hospital.
He was the husband of Louise A. (Buonopane) Bacon since 1946.
After graduating from Barnstable High School, he joined the Navy and served in the South Pacific during World War II.
Mr. Bacon was a troubleshooter in the cable department for New England Telephone and a member of the Telephone Pioneers. He retired in 1986 after 40 years of service.
After his retirement, he joined his son to work at the family auto repair business in Hyannis.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Dianne Finkbeiner of Fenton, Mich.; a son, Jeffrey Bacon of Marstons Mills; a brother, Emerson Bacon of Connecticut; two sisters, Avis Ochs of Centerville and Barbara Ryder of West Yarmouth; and three grandchildren.
Services were private.

Louise Greer, 93
Dennis - Louise (Montague) Greer, 93, a retired business owner, died Feb. 27, 2000 at the Cranberry Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Harwich after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Richard W. Greer.
Born and raised in Salt Lake City, she graduated from high school in Raleigh, N.C., and from the Philadelphia School of Design for Women.
For some years, she lived in Barnstable before settling in Dennis. She was the owner and operator of Greer Associates in Barnstable, an interior decorating business, retiring in 1971.
She is survived by a sister, Evelyn Schnellbach of Bethlehem, Pa.; and a nephew.
A graveside service was held in Lothrop Hill Cemetery, Barnstable.
