Janice C. Glover, 80
Hyannis Janice C. Glover, 80, an avid writer and retired librarian, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at her home.
Born in Brockton, she was raised in several towns around the Cape Cod area. She was a 1938 graduate of Barnstable High School and attended the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. She also earned her certification as a registered librarian.
She traveled and lived in many states, where she worked as a librarian.
While in Jacksonville, Fla., she was a harpist with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and also worked as a librarian.
She moved back to the Hyannis area in the 1960s and retired from the Hyannis Library in 1981.
An avid writer, she had several stories and articles published in the Yankee and Library Journal Magazines. She also had a short story published in True Experiences magazine.
She published several books, both fiction and non-fiction, and some in the children's genre of writing which she greatly enjoyed. She was currently working on the final chapter of a new book titled "Symphony," which will be an autobiography and story of her love of music.
A longtime member of the Unitarian Church of Barnstable, she was a member of its Library Committee. She was also a longtime member of the Women's Alliance of Churches Club and a member of the 12 o'clock Scholars of Cape Cod Literary Club.
She is survived by five close and dear friends, William L. and Lois J. (Beals) Crocker of Marstons Mills and Jane Whitney and John and Suzanne Fellows, all of Hyannis.
A graveside service was held in Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Adele Johnson, 79
Centerville Adele (Allard) Johnson, 79, who leaves family on the Cape, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Roger Johnson.
Born in Norton, Mrs. Johnson lived in Attleboro all of her life until becoming a resident of the Cape Regency Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Centerville in January 1999.
She was an assembly worker for Texas Instruments in Attleboro for 10 years until her retirement in 1983.
She loved the beach and playing bingo.
Surviving are a son, Gary Johnson of Centerville; a sister, Edna Walker of Norton; a brother, Edward Allard of Florida; and two grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held in the spring in Attleboro.

Patricia E. La Forge, 75
Osterville Patricia E. La Forge, an artist and free-lance writer who worked on the Cape as a nursing assistant in the mental health field, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at her home. She was 75.
She was the wife of the late William S. La Forge.
A native of New York, Mrs. La Forge was educated there and moved to Cape Cod in 1972.
For many years she worked as a free-lance writer and artist.
A 1991 graduate of the Cape Cod Community College nurse's aide program, Mrs. La Forge also worked as a certified nurse's aide in the mental health field.
Mrs. La Forge is survived by three sons, Robert W. La Forge, of Hancock, Maine, Stephen S. La Forge, of Washington , Maine, and W. Scott La Forge, of Marstons Mills; two daughters, Darlene P. La Forge, of Wellfleet and Kim La Forge Erikson, of Osterville; 12 grandchildren; and 3 greatgrandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on her birthday, June 23, for family and friends.

Suzanne Maddock, 27
Ludlow Suzanne Maddock, 27, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, in Ludlow after a long illness.
She was a graduate of Barnstable High School and attended Bentley College.
She is survived by her mother, Margaret Maddock of Hyannis; two aunts, Barbara Davidson-Pincus of Sharon and Mary L. Davidson-Sylvan of Harwich; and two cousins.
Memorial services were private.
Patricia J. Miller, 62
Hyannis Patricia J. Miller, 62, a resident of Hyannis, died Friday, Jan. 15, 2000, at Cape Cod Hospital after a long illness with rheumatoid arthritis.
Born in Medford, Ms. Miller moved to Florida in 1948, where she lived until moving to the Cape in 1964.
Ms. Miller's hobbies were craft making and doll collecting. She was also an avid reader.
Surviving are two sons, Joseph Hevener of Centerville and Richard Miller of Hyannis; two daughters, Cynthia Tivey of Hyannis and Tina Sharp of Brewster; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

John R. Mullin, 87
Cotuit John R. Mullin, 87, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
He was the husband of the late CoraThacher (Drew) Mullin.
Born in St. John, New Brunswick, he moved at an early age to Boston, where he was raised and educated. He worked at the Quincy Naval Shipyards.
In the 1950s, Mr. Mullin moved from Boston to Hyannis. He worked for several years at the Colonial Candle Factory. He was a special officer with the Barnstable Police Department and a field supervisor with the Barnstable Municipal Airport for many years. He retired from Barnstable County as an electronic engineer in the 1970s.
An honorary life member of both the Bishop Tyler Assembly and the Knights of Columbus Fr. McSwiney Council-Hyannis, he was a fourth degree knight.
He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid model ship builder.
He is survived by two daughters, Eleanor K. DeRosa of Cotuit and Anne M. Sances of Hyannts; a son, John D. Mullin of Clearwater, Fla.; two sisters, Josephine Martin and Eleanor Hanrahen, both of Quincy; 15 grandchildren; and 15 greatgrandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated in Christ the King Chapel, Mashpee Commons, Mashpee. Burial was in Mosswood Cemetery, Cotuit.
Glenna G. Rothwell, 71
Attleboro Glenna G. Rothwell, 71, a former office manager, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at the home of her daughter in Attleboro Falls.
Born in Pawtucket, R.I., she lived there until moving to South Attleboro 45 years ago.
She was the office manager for G&B Contractors in North Attleboro for five years until her illness. She was previously employed as a credit manager at the Attleboro Municipal Credit Union before becoming an account executive for Electronic Data Systems of Texas .
She was a member of the Hockomock YMCA, North Attleboro, and the TOPS club, Attleboro.
She is survived by three daughters, Glenna M. Massey of Hyannis, Claudia L. Winters of Attleboro Falls and Pamela K. Cabral of North Attleboro; a brother, Robert E. Gammons of Belize; four grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held in Paw-tucket, R.I. Burial was in Moshassuck Cemetery
in Central Falls, R.I.
Eileen M. Soucie, 61
Dennis Eileen M. (Ahern) Soucie, 61, former postmaster in West Harwich, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, at her home after a long illness.
She was the wife of Ralph T. Soucie, who died in 1991.
Born and raised in Cambridge, Mrs. Soucie graduated from St. Mary's High School. She married in 1959 and moved to Westwood.
Mrs. Soucie moved to West Dennis in 1968 and went to work for the United States Post Office in 1970. She became postmaster in West Harwich in 1977 and held that position until retiring in 1998.
In her early years, she enjoyed boating, the beach, snow skiing and taking long drives around Cape Cod beaches.
In later years, she enjoyed golf, arts and crafts and the theater. She was president of the League of Our Own Golf Club.
Surviving are two sons, Francis P. Soucie of Cummaquid and Christopher P. Soucie of Herndon, Va.; two sisters, Sheila Reid of Scituate and Patricia Aubruner of Kalamazoo, Mich.; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Pius X Church, South Yarmouth. Burial was in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

Joseph M. Taglione, 75
Marstons Mills Joseph M. Taglione, 75, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Cape Cod Hospital after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Alice T. (Miller) Taglione who died in 1979.
Mr. Taglione was born and raised in Dedham and was a graduate of Dedham High School.
He joined the Army after graduation and served in Europe during World War II. He also served in Korea and remained in the Army reserves until 1962.
He began worked for the former Westinghouse Electric Co. in Hyde Park in the 1940s, retiring after more than 34 years with the company.
Mr. Taglione and his wife were married and settled in Sandwich prior to their move to Brockton in 1965. They moved to Marstons Mills in the early 1970s.
Mr. Taglione is survived by a daughter, Joanne M. Brastow of Attleboro; three sisters, Rose Blackmore, Mary DiMartino and Phyllis Serani, all of Dedham; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Barry F. Berube, 62
Marstons Mills Barry F. Berube, 62, a Cape resident for many years, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at his home.
Born in Fall River, Mr. Berube was raised and educated in Swansea. He was a Cape resident for 40 years, living in Marstons Mills the past 10 years.
A member of Alcoholics Anonymous, he was always there to help someone out.
Surviving are his parents, Joseph and Margaret Berube of Swansea; a sister, Jane Fanning of Swansea; two brothers, Dennis Berube of Brunswick, Canada, and his twin, Gary Berube of Marstons Mills; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at St. Francis Xavier Church, South Street, Hyannis.
