Jay M. Malmquist

Worcester - Jay M. Malmquist, of 26 Harvard St., died Tuesday, April 6, in St. Vincent Hospital. His wife, Janet (Ryan) Belec Malmquist, died in 1986. His first wife, Marcia (Russell) Malmquist, died in 1975.
He leaves a son, Scott M. Malmquist of Worcester; two daughters, Pamela Malmquist of Worcester and Karen Coakley of Spencer; a brother, William Malmquist of Shrewsbury; 4 grandchildren; 2 great granddaughters; nephews and nieces. Another brother, Dr. Carl Malmquist of Shrewsbury, predeceased him. He was born in West Hartford, CT, son of Carl and Olive B. (James) Malmquist and lived here most of his life.
Mr. Malmquist manufactured grinding wheels for 40 years in the machine division of Norton Company, retiring in 1991. At one time, he owned and operated Jays Sporting Goods, a rod and gun store in West Boylston, specializing in hunting and fishing equipment and supplies. He was a member of Burncoat Baptist Church and was a Mason with the Most Worshipful Boylston Lodge. He was an accomplished trumpet player, having played in bands around Worcester County.
He was a veteran, having served his country during the Korean Conflict. He served with the Army, Air Force, and the Massachusetts National Guard.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 15, in Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster St. There are no calling hours. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 2680, Canton, OH 44720. DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., is directing arrangements.
Kristina M. Zemaitis

Daytona Beach, FL - Kristina M. (Kausevicius) Zemaitis, 49, formerly of Shrewsbury, died Thursday, Mar. 11, in Florida.
She leaves her lifelong friend and husband of 28 years, Raymond B. Zemaitis; a sister, Irene J. Markevicius, and her husband Edmund J., of Worcester; a niece, Linda M. Aiello of Thomspon, CT; a nephew, Edmund A. Markevicius of Worcester; her mother-in-law, Julia Zemaitis of Oxford; and many dear friends throughout the world. She was born in Shrewsbury, daughter of Alfons A. and Elena (Andriekus) Kausevicius and moved to South Daytona in 1977.
She was a teacher at Bonner Elementary School for 27 years. She touched the lives of generations of children.
Mrs. Zemaitis was a member of the Volusia Teachers Organization, the National Educators Association, and St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Daytona Beach, and attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling extensively, television, and fine dining.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 17, in St. Casimir Church, 41 Providence St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. There are no calling hours.

Robert J. Dupuis

Worcester - Robert J. Dupuis Sr., 65 of 120 Eastern Ave formerly of Kilby St. died Saturday April 13 in the Veterans Administration Hospital, West Roxbury.
Mr. Dupuis leaves his wife Helen M. (Carpenter) Dupuis of Worcester; four sons Michael Carpenter, Robert J. Dupuis Jr., Henry J. Dupuis and Larry J. Dupuis all of Worcester; seven daughters Tina M. Keifer of Worcester, Kay M. Horne of Virginia, Susan M. Magaw of Webster, Joy L. Dupuis of Worcester, Karen M. Carling of Holden, Kim C. Prendiville of Worceser and Kris A. Castagnetti of West Boylston; eight brothers Raymond Dupuis and Rano Dupuis both of Maine, Gerard Dupuis of New Hampshire, Eugene Dupuis of Florida, Alfred LaBelle of Leicester, Paul LaBelle of Leicester, Roger LaBelle of Charlton and Nelson LaBelle of Spencer; three sisters Nancy Carpenter and Mary Jane Murray both of Charlton and Cecelia Shenette of Worcester; 19 Grandchildren; 7 Great Granchildren and several nephews and nieces. Mr. Dupuis is predeceased by by his first wife Lorraine (Carpenter) Dupuis who died in 1986, a brother Arthur Dupuis and a sister Therea Baker.
Mr. Dupuis was born in Biddeford, Maine son of Joseph J. and Pauline (Lefevre) Dupuis and also served in the United States marine Corps. during the Korean Conflict. He also is a veteran of the national guard.
Mr. Dupuis most recently worked as a self employed boiler remover for various gas and oil companies in the area. He previously worked for Firematic Sprinkler Co. as a machinist, Comeplay Products in the physical plant department, AV Ricciardi Sweeping Co., Brandywine Village as a supervisor and Northbridge Furniture Co. as a shipper and receiver.
Mr. Dupuis was a member of St. Peter's Curch. He was also a life member of the Disabled American Veteran's, the V.F.W. Post #530 in Spencer, American Legion Post #138 in Spencer and the Knights of Columbus Spencer Council.

Barbara (Speakman) Cardinal

Worcester - Barbara (Speakman) Cardinal, 71, of 301 Cambridge Street died Monday May 27 in Providence House of Millbury after an illness.
She leaves three sons Kenneth Cardinal of Webster, Kevin Cardinal of Millbury and Brian Cardinal of Worcester; four daughters Linda McNabb of Ayer, Deborah Bombard, Shauna Lowe and Barbara Smith all of Worcester; three sisters Bernice "Bette" Smyth, Gloria Hutchins and Delores "Patsy" Iacovone all of Worcester; 13 grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by brother Kenneth Speakman and two sisters Marguerite "Peggy" Clarke and Gladys Speakman. Ms. Cardinal was born in Worcester daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth (Shea) Speakman and lived here all of her life.
She was a machine operator for many years at the former L. Farber Leather Company and was also a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.

Arthur W. Ordway Sr.

Worcester - Arthur W. Ordway Sr., 91, of 584 Pleasant Street died Monday May 27 at home after being stricken ill.
His wife of 56 years Katherine E. (Glynn) Ordway died in 1994. He leaves one son Arthur W. Ordway Jr. of Worcester and one grandson Scott Ordway of Worcester. He is predeceased by a brother George Ordway and three grandsons Sean and Timothy Ordway and Bob Roach. He was born in Nashua, NH son of John and Mabel (Burns) Ordway.
Mr. Ordway worked as a mechanic for 46 years at Worcester Wire Company a Division of National Standard and retired in 1983.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. He was also a founding member of St. Catherine of Sweden Church and it's Holy Name Society and St. Vincent de Paul Society. Mr. Ordway was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.

DOUGLAS - Michael W. Cook, 42, of 2 Redding Landing died Saturday May 25 at home.
He leaves two sons Michael C. Cook and Brandon W. Cook both of Flint, MI.; two brothers Richard Fante of Warren, MI and Ronald Fante of Garden Grove, CA; two sisters Debra Cournoyer of Cumberland, RI and Mary Fante of Warren, MI and several nieces and nephews. He was born in Detroit, MI son of Leo and Patricia (Konrad) Cook.
Mr. Cook owned and operated Technatest Company which is an underground tank testing service since 1992. He also was a member of the American Motorcross Association.

Henry L. Pepin Sr.

Raymond, NH - Henry L. Pepin Sr., 81, of 3 Mooers Rd. formerly of Worcester died Thursday in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Manchester, NH after an illness.
Mr. Pepin is predeceased by his wife Katherine (D'Arigo) Pepin who died in 1975. He leaves one son Henry L. Pepin Jr. of Raymond, NH with whom he lived; 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his first wife Edith (Shae) Pepin; two borthers Rocheleau and Charles Pepin; a sister Cora Dowling. He was born in Worcester son of Moses and Margaret (Green) Pepin.
He was an army veteran serving during World War II.
Mr. Pepin worked as a wood, wire and metal lather for many years. He also worked for the Carpenter's Union Local 107.
He was a member of the American Legion Grafton Hill Post 323, 40 and 8 Club and the V.F.W. Post in Raymond, NH.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 3 at 2 PM in Hope Cemetery, Worcester with full military honors. There are no calling hours. Worcster - Robert H. Mott Jr., 65, of 4 Chelsea St. died Friday August 9 in his home after a long illness.
He leaves his wife of 35 years Patricia (Lynch) Mott of Worcester; one son John R. Mott of Worcester; two daughters Kathleen A. Rawlston of Spencer and Robin P. Campbell of Worcester; two brothers Ronald Mott of Worcester and William Mott of FL; two sisters Joanie LaBuff of Worcester and Florence Bonardi of Worcester; 5 grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Mr. Mott was born in Worcester son of Robert Sr. and Florence (Bazin) Mott.
Mr. Mott is a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from the UMASS Medical Center in 1997 and previously worked for the former Crompton & Knowles Company.
He was an avid card player and enjoyed Irish Music.

WORCESTER - Kenneth G. LaCourse, 76, formerly of Pleasant Street died Saturday, September 28 in Hospice Residence after an illness.
He leaves two sons Kenneth G. LaCourse Jr. of Douglas and Derek LaCourse of Rochdale; two daughters Laura Liseno of Worcester and Joan-Marie Allen of North Carolina; two brothers Alton F. LaCourse of Island Pond, VT and Roger B. LaCourse of Dudley; 9 grandchildren. 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a daughter Deborah Hall and a brother Robert LaCourse. He was born in Orleans, Vermont son of Frank and Velma (Badger) LaCourse. Mr. LaCourse was a member of the Auburn Lodge of Elks. He enjoyed flea marketing and was an avid sports fan. He was a volunteer for many years at the former Worcester City Hospital.

Worcester - Adeline M. (Cerce) Lambert, 77, of 3 Clive Street died Friday April 25 in Worcester Medical Center - Saint Vincent Hospital.
Mrs. Lambert leaves her husband of 45 years Gerard L. Lambert of Worcester; one son Mark J. Lambert of Holden; one daughter Laurie A. Soponski of Auburn; two sisters Louise Cerce of Worcester and Florence Cerce of Worcester and 4 grandchildren. Mrs. Lambert was born in Dedham, MA daughter of Pasquale and Santa (Giancioppo) Cerce.
She worked as an audit clerk for the former Melville Shoe Company for 13 years retiring in 1958. Mrs. Lambert was also a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church.

WORCESTER – Louis A. Dumouchel, 89, formerly of Spencer and Worcester died Sept. 29 in the Blaire House after an illness.
His wife of 66 years, Doris M. (Emmett) Dumouchel died in October of 2002. He leaves two sons Ronald L. Dumouchel of East Brookfield and Gerald S. Dumouchel of Fairfield, Maine; a daughter Joan L. Pratt of Worcester; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester son of Louis E. and Sylvina (Brodeur) Dumouchel.
Mr. Dumouchel was a machine operator for Elfskin Company in Cherry Valley retiring in 1976. He also owned Louis Antenna Service in Worcester for 18 years.

Worcester – Deacon Harry Fenner, 81, of 26 Shattuck Street died Sunday, October 12 in Autumn Village Nursing Home after an illness.
His wife Claire L. (Young) Fenner died in 1975. He leaves a son Robert H. Fenner of Rutland; five daughters Therese M. Boucher of West Winsor, NJ, Claire L. Fenner of Santa Monica, CA, Jean H. Beale of Bangor, ME, Susan A. Fenner and Anne B. Moquin both of Worcester; a brother Richard E. Fenner of Worcester; three sisters Julia Barbara Chenard, Lillian J. Mason and Charlotte M. Chase all of Worcester; 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by four brothers Raymond F., Robert J., Glen E. and Charles F. Fenner; three sisters Irene G. Gibeault, Claire R. Harrington and Nancy V. Thienel. He was born in Leicester son of Harry J. and Laura J. (Barton) Fenner.
Mr. Fenner was ordained as a deacon on June 24, 1978 at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Worcester by the late Bishop Bernard Flanagan. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II as a sergeant in the South Pacific. He was a supervisor in the cloth-cutting department for the David Clark Company for 41 years, retiring in 1986.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 15 in St. Bernard’s Church with a mass at 10 am. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Mausoleum. Calling hours are Tuesday, October 14 from 2 to 4 pm in the funeral home and 7 to 9 pm in St. Bernard’s Church, 228 Lincoln Street. Auburn – David J. Lovely, 42, of 30 Burnett St. died Thursday April 29 in his home after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 20 years CathyLynne (Dame) Lovely; his parents George H. Jr. and Evelyn L. (Poire) Lovely of Auburn; a step son Sean M. Sullivan of Southbridge; a step daughter Kelly L. Sullivan of Auburn; a brother George H. Lovely III of Auburn; three sisters Laura Nowick of Berlin, MA, Linda Martin of Charlton and Judy Boire of Nashua, NH; his paternal grandmother Elizabeth Manning of Auburn; 2 grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
Mr. Lovely was born in Worcester and graduated from Baypath Vocational School. He was the Vice-President and General Manager of A to Z Integrated Systems in Worcester where he worked for over 25 years.
He was an enthusiastic sports fan and loved both the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
