Alfred C. Morin, 74
Hyannis - Alfred C. Morin, 74, owner of All Cape Taxi, retired auto parts dealer and service station owner, died Thursday, August 5, 1999 at his home after a long illness.
He was the husband of Dorothy (Sheehan) Morin.
Mr. Morin was born in Hyannis and a graduate of Barnstable High School. He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving aboard the USS Patoka in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters.
For many years, Mr. Morin worked for his father until he and his twin brother, the late Julius P. Morin, Jr., took over the family business.
After his retirement, he was an avid gardener and woodworker.
Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Jacques Morin and Douglas Morin, both of Marstons Mills, and Michael Morin of Hyannis; four daughters, Michele Morin, Marie Souza and Elizabeth Blackburn, all of Hyannis, and Janine Smith of Hyannisport; a sister, Caroline Crosby of Hyannis; his former wife, Noel Bassett of South Yarmouth; 17 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Burial was in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Centerville.

Michael M. Powers, 45
Marstons Mills - Michael Murphy Powers, 45, died Thursday, August 5, 1999 at his home after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Donna Powers of New Hampshire.
Born in Wareham, Mr. Powers was educated in Barnstable, graduating from Barnstable High School in 1972. He was a commercial fisherman in Barnstable, where he lived most of his life.
Mr. Powers loved sports and coached Barnstable Farm League teams in baseball and soccer. He also shared the record for Barnstable High School in track for quite a few years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his parents, Robert W. Powers Jr. and Rita Powers of Marstons Mills; a daughter, Ann Marie Kelley of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sons, Brian and Eric of Marstons Mills; four sisters, Susan Cavanaugh of Fairview, N.C., and Janet Powers, Kathryn Caplice and Patricia Tierno, all of Marstons Mills; two brothers, Robert Powers III and Stephen Powers, both of Marstons Mills; and many nieces and nephews.

Charles M. Thompson III, 56
Forestdale - Charles Michael Thompson III, 56, died Saturday, July 31, 1999 in Millinocket, Maine.
He was the husband of Pauline B. (Prevost) Thompson.
Born in Brockton, Mr. Thompson was educated in Brockton, Natick, Medford and Los Angeles, Calif.
Mr. Thompson was a tavern keeper and the proprietor of the Quarterdeck Lounge in Hyannis since 1975.
He was a member of the DeWitt Masonic Lodge in Sandwich.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his parents, Frances (Smith) Thompson of Hyannis and Errol M. Thompson of Brockton; his children, Charles M. Thompson IV of Los Angeles, Calif., Errol M. Thompson IV of Barnstable, Parker K. Thompson of Sandwich, Donnie T. Parent of Ireland, Denise Parent of Hyannis, Daniel J. Parent of Somerset and David R. Parent of Mashpee; a brother, Errol M. Thompson III of Saudi Arabia; and two grandchildren.
Burial was private.

Oliver H. Washington , 41
Hyannis - Oliver H. "Butchie" Washington , 41, died unexpectedly Thursday, August 12, 1999 at his home.
Mr. Washington was born, raised and educated in Hyannis. After high school, he spent time in both Florida and California. When he returned to Hyannis, he worked locally as a landscaper, most recently at the Courtyard Resort in Hyannis.
An avid James Taylor fan, Mr. Washington also enjoyed biking, the ocean, Frisbee, collecting antiques and the Hyannis Mets.
He is survived by a longtime companion, Barbra Long of Hyannis; a brother, Brian Washington Sr. of Mashpee; three sisters, Deborah Brooks, Donna Hart and Tracy Washington , all of Hyannis; and many nieces and nephews.

R. Arthur Williams, 69
Centerville - R. Arthur Williams, 68, a lifetime resident of Barnstable and builder for 42 years, died Friday, August 13, 1999 at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Betty L. (Griffin) Williams.
Mr. Williams was born in Osterville and was active in the community throughout his life. He was a member of the planning committee for Cape Cod Regional Technical High School in the early 1970s, and served as chairman of the Cape Cod Tech school committee after the Harwich school opened.
He was a member of the advisory committee that wrote the building code "Supervisor Licensing Test" for Massachusetts.
In 1982, Mr. Williams won the Massachusetts Home Builder of the Year Award. He served as president of the Home Builders Association of Cape Cod. He was also past president of the Massachusetts Home Builders Association and was a life member of the board of directors for the National Association of Home Builders. He was also an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association. Williams was a past member of Mariners Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Cotuit. Recently, he helped coordinate his 50th Barnstable High School reunion. He enjoyed golf, and was a member and past president of Cummaquid Golf Club. He served on the club's committee to expand the course from nine to 18 holes.
Besides his wife, Williams is survived by two sons, Keith R. Williams and Kirk D. Williams, both of Centerville; two daughters, Sheryl L. Traeger of Austin, Texas , and Crystal L. Palmisano of Woodbridge, Virginia; a brother, Earle C. Williams of Centerville; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Randall Joseph Donahue, 44
Centerville - Randall Joseph Donahue, 44, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 1999 at the Hospice House in Barnstable after a brief illness.
Born, raised and educated in Cambridge, Mr. Donahue was a resident of Centerville and a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis.
After high school, he worked in construction and spent some time building on Nantucket. Most recently, he worked for the MacKenzie Bros. construction company of Marstons Mills.
Mr. Donahue was a NASCAR fan, who took a number of trips to Daytona, Fla., for the Daytona 500. He was also an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his mother, Ann E. Donahue of Woburn; a son, Cody Donahue of Woburn; a daughter, Ashleigh Donahue of Woburn; two brothers, Thomas and John of Sandown, N.H.; four sisters, Ann Donahue, Barbara Clague and Eleanor Curry, all of Hampstead, N.H., and Mary Huntley of Raymond, N.H.; eight nieces and nephews; and his friend and roommate, Jeff Grumbley of Centerville.
Burial was in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.

R. Robert Harrison, 81
Osterville - R. Robert Harrison, 81, a Boston Red Sox draft choice, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 1999 at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
He was the husband of Dorothy (Murray) Harrison.
Born in Fall River, he was a graduate of Providence College, where he received a baseball scholarship after being drafted by the Boston Red Sox.
Mr. Harrison served in the Navy for five years during World War II, in the Pacific and Aleutian Islands on a P.T. boat. He was discharged with the rank of lieutenant commander.
He owned Erickson Veterinary Garden Supplies in Acton, retiring in the late 1960s. He also worked in the sales and marketing division of Cape Cod Cablevision, retiring from that job in the mid-1980s.
Mr. Harrison was a resident of Needham for 25 years before moving to the Cape in 1972.
He was an avid golfer and member of the Oyster Harbors Golf Club. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, R. Robert Harrison Jr. of Leominster, Stephen M. Harrison of Lexington, and Michael H. Harrison of Boxborough; two sisters, Elizabeth H. Gray of Swansea and Ruth H. Murphy of Barrington, R.I.; and eight grandchildren.
Burial was private.

Prudence 'Prudy' Hobson, 90
Orleans - Prudence K. (Prudy) Hobson, 90, an Orleans resident for 14 years, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 1999 in Chatham.
She was the wife of Clarence P. Hobson for 14 years.
Born and educated in Bangor, Maine, Mrs. Hobson was a graduate of Wheelock College in Boston. She moved to the Cape in 1946 and prior to moving to Orleans, she lived for many years in Centerville and Yarmouthport.
She was the home service demonstrator for the former Cape & Vineyard Electric Co. until her retirement.
Surviving besides her husband are a daughter, Barbara J. Hedderig of Hyannis; a granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two step-grandsons; and four great-step-grandchildren.
Burial was private.

Harold C. Goddard Jr., 88
Marstons Mills- Harold C. Goddard Jr., 88, a retired cost accountant, died Friday, August 13, 1999 at the Center for Optimum Care in Mashpee.
He was the husband of Mary Elizabeth (Dix) Goddard.
Mr. Goddard was born in Holliston and a longtime resident of Andover before moving to Marstons Mills upon retirement in 1977.
A graduate of Bentley College in Waltham, he was a cost accountant for General Tire in Lawrence until his retirement.
He was a member and served for several years as treasurer for the South Congregational Church in Andover.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Clifford T. Goddard of Bradford and John M. Goddard of Kennebunkport, Maine; and two grandchildren.

Sandra Leen, 64
Hyannis - Sandra (Schiffman) Leen, 64, died Monday, Aug. 16, 1999 at her home from complications of diabetes.
She was the wife of Selwyn A. Leen for 32 years.
Mrs. Leen was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and raised and educated in Provincetown.
After moving to Hyannis, she worked with her husband in the family business, Leen's Shoe Store, on Main Street in Hyannis. She then worked for Cape Cod Hospital for several years until her retirement in 1998.
A lifelong Francophile, she enjoyed traveling, especially two trips to Paris, and had an extensive knowledge of French history.
Mrs. Leen was an extremely talented home cook, specializing in French dishes and elegant desserts, with an interest in French wines. She also loved nature and animals, and had several pet Siamese cats over the years.
Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Linda Coneen of Orleans and Leesa Leen Ayers of Hyannis; a brother, Victor Abel of Medford, Ore.; a grandson; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
