EDITH L. (LINDSTROM) WILSON
January 3, 1920 - April 3, 2006

Worcester - Edith L. (Lindstrom) Wilson, 86, formerly of Pylesville and Swanton, Maryland, died Monday, March 27 in the Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Her husband Thomas S. Wilson predeceased her. She is survived by a niece, Therinda "Terry" R. Taillefer and her husband John of Auburn, a nephew, David E. Lindstrom and his wife Annette of Auburn, 6 great nephews, 1 great niece, and 1 great-great niece. Two brothers, Elwyn and Richard Lindstrom predeceased her.
Edith was born in Worcester the daughter of Theron and Esther ( Johnson) Lindstrom. She earned several degrees including a Bachelors of Nursing, a Masters of Social Work and a Doctorate of Public Health. During her career in Public Health, Edith worked with refugees in Maryland and traveled to Vietnam to work with the government. She was also an ordained Episcopal Deacon and a former member of the Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Street, MD.
At the family's request the funeral service and burial are private. There are no calling hours. Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lester J. Wilson
April 5, 1927 - December 14, 2006

CHARLTON, MA - Lester J. Wilson, 79, of Charlton and Sarasota, FL. and formerly of Auburn, died Thursday, Dec. 14th at home surrouded by his loving family.

He leaves his beloved wife of 57 years, Joyce C. (Hargreaves) Wilson; his son, David F. Wilson and his wife Ellen of Charlton; his four daughters, Linda E. Vasas and her husband Roger of Charlton, Phyllis D. Orrell and her husband Gary of Millbury, Lori J. Stearns and her husband Edward of Charlton, and Shelley L. Brooks and her husband Jonathan of Charlton; his 11 grandchildren, Sean Vasas and his wife Vicki, Elyssa Wood and her husband Christopher, Michael Orrell and his wife Nicole, Gregory Orrell, Kirsten Orrell, Edward Stearns, Nicole Stearns, Kate Wilson, Kimberly Wilson, Elizabeth Brooks, and Jonathan Brooks, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Albert E. Wilson and Gordon C. Wilson. He lived in Auburn for 22 years and in Charlton since 1971. He also wintered in Sarasota, FL for many years.

He was born in Norwich, CT, son of the late Charles E. and Ellen C. (Lilja) Wilson and was raised in Hanover, CT. He graduated from Norwich Free Academy, Class of 1945. He then served as a proud member of the US Navy during World War II. He returned to school, and received a certificate from UConn in Horticulture.

Mr. Wilson started a career in the flower industry with the former Randall's Flowers and Hixon's Flowers, both in Worcester. He went on to found Wilson's Flower Shop in 1952 and remained there until its sale in 1963. He then began a career in real estate, establishing several retail properties in Auburn as well as home building in Auburn and Charlton. He later went on to be the Manager for 15 years of ServiceMaster Hospital Corporation, affiliated with Memorial Hospital for 12 years.

He was a member of the Federated Church of Charlton and a former member of the First Congregational Church of Auburn. He was a 43 year member of the Rotary Club of Auburn and was a member of the Joel H. Prouty Lodge of Masons, Auburn for more than 50 years. He was a former member and VP of the Auburn Chamber of Commerce, was a member of the Board of trustees of the Whispering Sands Condominium Assoc, Sarasota, FL, and a member and former president of the South Charlton Reservoir Association, where he served on the Board of Directors and the Restoration Committee.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn on Sunday, Dec. 17th from 4-7 PM. Members of the Joel H. Prouty Lodge will assemble at 6PM at the funeral home for a ritual. A funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 18th at 11 AM in the First Congregational Church of Auburn, 128 Central St., Auburn. Burial in Westridge Cemetery, Charlton will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104 or to the UMass Memorial Foundation, Dr. Raza/Research, 55 Lake Ave. North, Worcester, MA 01655.

Dorothy M. (Knowlton) Wilson
August 11, 1915 - April 8, 2007

AUBURN, MA - Dorothy M. (Knowlton), 91, of Whitney Circle, died Sunday, April 8th in University Commons, Worcester.

Her husband, Harold S. Wilson died in 1984.

She leaves her son, Richard P. Wilson of Auburn; her sister, Marion F. MacMillan of Auburn, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Earl and Everett Knowlton, and by her sister, Mildred Bjork.

She was born in Framingham, daughter of the late Earl and Florence D. (Berg) Knowlton. She graduated from Commerce High School, Worcester, and has lived here since 1952.

Mrs. Wilson worked many years ago for the former New England Telephone and Telegraph Company in the Auburn office. She was longtime member of the First Congregational Church in Auburn, where she was active in the Women's Fellowship Group. An accomplished self-taught artist, Mrs. Wilson enjoyed painting in oils and pastels, and has created many beautiful stained glass and wood carved bird pieces. She liked to garden and still was enjoying sewing.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visiting hour with Dot's family on Wednesday, April 11th from 10-11 AM in Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. A funeral service will then be held at 11 AM in the funeral home, followed by burial in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.

Leona M. (Menoche) Stevens Wray Lane
August 28, 1918 - March 10, 2007

AUBURN, MA - Leona M. (Menoche) Stevens Wray Lane of Dover, New Hampshire and Summerdale, Alabama, passed away Saturday, March 10th at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Beth and David Clark of Auburn, Ma. She formerly lived in Grafton and later Wells, Maine before moving to Dover 7 years ago. She wintered in Alabama for the past several years.

Born August 28, 1918 in Charlton, MA, she was the only child of Emma (Cormier) and Alphonse Menoche. She graduated from Charlton High School and the Wilfred Beauty Academy.

A professional hairdresser for many years, Mrs. Lane had her own beauty shop for many years in Leicester and later was the staff hairdresser at Washburn House, Worcester. She was a former member of the Grafton Women's Club and later was active in and served as president of the Maine State Women's Club Association. She was also a Lioness. Along with her late husband, Mrs. Wray Lane volunteered at York Hospital, putting in countless hours.

She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth, wife of David Clark of Auburn, MA and Susan, wife of David Sommers of Medford, NJ, and her son, Wesley Stevens and his wife Judy of Charlton. Lee was blessed with nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Carlyle O. Wray on 1993 and last week suffered the loss of her husband of seven years, Frederick W. Lane of Dover, NH.

The family wished to thank all the caregivers from UMass Memorial Hospice. Without your love and support, Lee would not have been able to be home. Special thanks go to Patricia Veil, RN, her faithful nurse, to Rev. Ted MacNeil (Mom appreciated your weekly spiritual visits) Tomoka, who made Grammy sing, and Chris her social worker.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours aon Tuesday, March 13th from 6-8 PM in Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn, MA. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 14th with a service at 10:30 AM in First Congregational Church of Auburn, 128 Central St., Auburn. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA.

Ellen (Butler) Wright
December 16, 1939 - January 1, 2007

SHREWSBURY - Ellen (Butler) Wright, 67, of 38 North Street, Shrewsbury, died Monday, January 1st in Saint Vincent Hospital after an illness.

Ellen leaves her best friend and husband of 47 years, Paul C. Wright; her loving children, Tara Wright of Worcester; Jonathan and his wife, Meg Wright of Shrewsbury; Heather and her husband, Andrew Santry of Princeton; Cynthia and her husband, David Beaudoin of Falmouth and Jennifer and her husband, James LaMontagne of Shrewsbury; Ellen was also blessed with 5 grandchildren, Briana and Dillon McClure, Colin Wright, Bridget and Joseph Beaudoin and she was eagerly awaiting her sixth grandchild; She was also survived by her siblings, Wendell Butler of Holden; Wayne Butler of Phoenix, AZ; her twin sister, Elinor Saarinen of Shrewsbury and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Jean Cronin.

Mrs. Wright was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Wendell and Mae (Fagerstrom) Butler. She graduated from Commerce High School and had lived in Shrewsbury for the past 47 years. Ellen's greatest joy was spending time and doing special things for her husband, children, grandchildren, her extended family and friends.

Relatives and friends of Ellen's are invited to visit with her family on Thursday, January 4th from 5-8 PM in Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 5th at 10 A.M. in Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.

Violet A. (Benoit) Wright
October 31, 1943 - May 10, 2007

WORCESTER - Violet A. (Benoit) Wright, 63, of Webster, former 35 year resident of Auburn, died Thursday in St. Vincent's Hospital, after a spirited fight against cancer.
She is survived by her Husband of 44 years, Mr. George C. Wright, of Webster, and his Son David M. Wright and his wife, Evie, of Woodstock, CT, a daughter Christine A. Zecker and her husband Marc, of Worcester, five loving grandchildren; Nevin, Ian, and Katie George, of Woodstock, and Maggie, and Samuel Zecker, of Worcester. She also leaves her adopted mother Melinda Weagle, of Shrewsbury.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Edward H. and Violet L. (Berthiaume) Benoit. She was educated in Shrewsbury schools and was a graduate of Shrewsbury High School. She grew up on Lake Quinsigamond; she is a survivor of the Tornado of 1953
Mrs. Wright worked for many years at the Fallon Clinic as a secretary; she had previously worked as a clerk at Sears.
Mrs. Wright was a member of the Auburn Lion's and Lioness's Club for over 20 years; where she was a 4 time past president. She was a past chairman of the Auburn 4th of July Committee. She was also a member of St. Joseph's Church in Auburn.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday from 5-8 PM Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 6PM at St. Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford St. North. Burial will be held at a time convenient to the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Abby's House, 23 Crown St., Worcester, MA 01609 or to District 33-A Sight & Hearing Conservation and Treatment Fund, Inc., PDG Lee Zagorski, Treasurer, 204 Auburn St., Cherry Valley, MA 01611.

KUI MUI (KUM) WU
April 10, 1919 - November 20, 2006

SHREWSBURY - Kui Mui (Kum) Wu, 87, of 36 North Quinsigamond Avenue, Shrewsbury died Monday, November 20th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center- University Campus after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 69 years, Tak Chung Wu; a daughter, Rosemary Wu Russo and her husband, Chris of Northborough; two grandchildren, Kelly and Tyler Russo both of Northborough and relatives in both the United States and China.

Mrs. Wu was born in Dinghai, Zhejiang, China daughter of the late Aho and Axiang Kum. She had come to the United States in 1961 and lived in New York City for 18 years before moving to Shrewsbury in 1978. Kui Mui was a member of the Chinese Gospel Church for many years.

The Wu family wishes to extend their gratitude to the entire staff of UMASS Memorial Medical Center-University Campus for all the wonderful care that Mrs. Wu received there.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Wu family on Friday, November 24th from 4-6 P.M. in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 25th at 9:30 A.M. in the Chinese Gospel Church of Worcester, 21 Belmont Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.

AI KUEI WU LIN
June 18, 1924 - September 18, 2007

Shrewsbury - Ai Kuei Wu Lin, 83 of Shrewsbury, formerly of Taiwan, died Tuesday, September 18th in her daughter's home in Shrewsbury.

Her husband, Dr.Chin-Ching Lin died in 2003. Mrs. Lin was born in Tainan, Taiwan and had lived in Taiwan and Japan for 80 years before coming to the United States in 2004 to be near her family.

She is survived by a daughter, Shenshen Wu of Shrewsbury, four sons, Frank (Wu-Hsien) Lin of Cranston, Rhode Island, Chris (Chih-Lung) Lin of Rochester, Minnesota, Eric (I-Chang) Lin of Westboro and ChuanFu Lin of Northboro.

Mrs. Lin was the wife of the former Ambassador from Taiwan to Japan. Dr. Lin had also held the position of Chairman of the Association of East Asian Relations in Taiwan. Mrs. Lin herself was a past president of the International Women's Club in Japan in 1984.

All funeral services for Mrs. Lin will be private. Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury is assisting the Lin family with arrangements.

Mildred (Daniels) Yeaton
January 21, 1911 - December 10, 2006

SHREWSBURY - Mildred (Daniels) Yeaton 95 of Shrewsbury passed away on December 10, 2006 in her home. She was a resident of Shrewsbury for 70 years.

Her husband John C. Yeaton passed away July 2001. She leaves her son David J. Yeaton and his wife Kathleen A. of Sutton, a grandson John D. Yeaton of New York City, and a granddaughter Katie M. Yeaton of Shrewsbury.

A brother Lester Daniels predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester daughter of George and Louise (Richards) Daniels and graduated from Commerce High School.

She was a professional violinist who played with the Trinity Lutheran Symphonette and also volunteered as a violinist at the Worcester Nutrition Center for many years.

Mrs. Yeaton was a member of the Covenant Methodist Church, Worcester.

At Mrs. Yeaton's request all services will be private.

TERRI LYNN YEVAK
October 13, 1959 - May 6, 2007

SHREWSBURY - Terri L. (Redifer) Yevak, 47, of Shrewsbury, died Sunday, May 6th in UMass Memorial Medical Center- Memorial Campus Hospital in Worcester.

She is survived by her husband of 9 years, Michael Yevak, Jr.; two sisters, Pam and her husband, Butch Andrews of California and Diana and her husband, Ira Elinson of Minnesota; her step-mother, Polly Ann Redifer of California; her mother-in-law, Helen A. Yevak of Morristown, N. J., a brother-in-law, Stephen and his wife, Ellen Yevak of Coldwell, N.J.; a niece, Leslie Yevak of Caldwell, N.J., a niece Olivia and nephew Zachary Elinson of Minnesota; and her dear dog, Simon.

Mrs. Yevak was born in Lakewood, Ohio, daughter of the late Charles and Ellen (Synder) Redifer and had lived in Shrewsbury for the past 13 years. She graduated from East Longmeadow High School in 1978.

Terri had worked as an Administrative Clerk for Parker Manufacturing in Worcester for 6 years. She had several hobbies including indoor gardening, latch hooking rugs, pictures and pillows and she had a great love of cats and dogs.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Terri's family on Wednesday, May 9th from 5-8 P.M. in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. A funeral service celebrating Terri's life will be held on Thursday, May 10th at 10 AM in the funeral home. Burial will take place in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Memorial donations in Terri's memory can be made to The American Society For the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 96929, Washington, DC 20077-7127 or to the Worcester County Food Bank, Mid Town Mall, P.O. Box 71, Worcester, MA 01614-0071.

John Francis Zecco, Sr.
April 19, 1921 - March 6, 2006

SHREWSBURY - John F. Zecco, Sr., 84, of 10 Selina Street, Shrewsbury died Monday, March 6th in his home after an illness.

He leaves his wife, Bertha L. (Largesse) Zecco; three sons, John F. Zecco, Jr., of Worcester; Steven P. Zecco of Spencer and Larry V. Zecco of Worcester; a daughter, Gina F. LeBlanc of Shrewsbury; also survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

John was born in Worcester, son of the late Vito and Ermiena (Cittina) Zecco and had live din Shrewsbury all of his life. He was a decorated was veteran of W.W. II serving with the U.S. Army.

Mr. Zecco had worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Town of Shrewsbury for 20 years before he retired in 1970. He also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Thursday, March 9th at 1 P.M. in Mountain View Cemetery, Boylston Street, Shrewsbury. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations can be made to the Central Mass Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
Britton Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury, is assisting the Zecco Family with arrangements.
