SHIRLEY ELIZABETH (ANDERSON) WEAGLE
April 4, 1918 - July 10, 2006

AUBURN, MA - Shirley E. (Anderson) Weagle, 88, of Central St., died Monday, July 10th in the UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester after being stricken ill at home.

Her husband, James A. Weagle died in 1961.

She leaves her son, Dr. Richard J. Weagle and his wife, Susan of Auburn, with whom she lived; her two granddaughters, Michelle Weagle of Auburn and Valerie Weagle of Watertown.

She was born and raised in Worcester, the daughter of the late Alfred and Hilda (Blomquist) Anderson and moved to Auburn more than 50 years ago. She graduated from the former High School of Commerce.

Mrs. Weagle retired from Lotting Engineering in Auburn, where she had been a secretary for many years. She was a long time volunteer with the American Red Cross and was an active member of the Auburn Senior Center. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was known for the lap blanket that she created over the years. She also was a member of the local bowling league for many years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend vesting hours on Wednesday, July 12th from 5-7 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 13th at 9:30 AM in the funeral home, with burial following Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Auburn District Nursing Association, 191 Pakachoag St., Auburn, MA 01501.

MARION (ENGLANDER) WEIMER
September 1, 1917 - April 24, 2007

SHREWSBURY - Marion (Englander) Weimer, 89, of 30 Julio Drive, Shrewsbury died Tuesday, April 24, at UMass Memorial Medical Center-Memorial Campus in Worcester after a brief illness.

She is survived by her son, Kinzie L. Weimer and his wife, Gise of Shrewsbury, her brother, Donald Englander and his wife, Lorraine of New Cumberland, PA and four grandchildren, Christopher, Erin, Mark and Kyle. Her husband, Richard F. Weimer died in 1985 and her youngest son, David D. Weimer, died in 1997.

Mickey, as she preferred to be called, was born in Berwick, PA in 1917, the older of two children of the late Leo and Elizabeth (Hicks) Englander. She graduated from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA in 1940 with a degree in English. Her first husband, Gerald F. Darr, was killed in action during World War II. She married Richard Weimer in 1948, and moved with him to Troy, NY in 1951, where she would spend the next 36 years. During this time, she raised her children, worked as a substitute teacher and continued her education, receiving a Masters in Education from Russell Sage College in 1971. Soon thereafter, she became a second grade teacher in the Lansingburgh School District, teaching for 10 years until her retirement in 1981.

After her husband's death, she moved from Troy in 1987 to be closer to others in her family, eventually settling in Vernon Hills, IL in 1995, and then Shrewsbury in 2004, after her son relocated here. For the past 17 years of her life, Mickey suffered from macular degeneration, an incurable disease of the retina that caused her to become legally blind. She learned to cope with her disability with the assistance of the Association of the Blind and related agencies. Even after becoming blind, she continued to read with the assistance of books and magazines on tape.

The family would also like to thank the staff of the UMass Memorial Medical Center- Memorial Campus on Belmont St, Worcester for their devoted care during Mickey's short stay there.

There will be a private, family only funeral service on Monday, April 30th in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Mickey's family asks that, in lieu of flowers or other tokens of remembrance, a donation be made to either the American Printing House for the Blind, P.O. Box 6389, Louisville, KY 40206, or to the Talking Book Library, 3 Salem Square, Worcester, MA 01608.

WILLIAM W. "BILL" WELLBORN
March 28, 1921 - August 28, 2007

SHREWSBURY - William W. Wellborn, 86, of Shrewsbury, died Monday, August 27th in Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester after an illness.
He was the husband of the late Charlotte E. (Porter) Wellborn.
He leaves a son, Richard P. Wellborn of Bowie, Maryland; two daughters, Shelley L. Parker of Corinth, New York and Lizabeth A. Cleypool-Wellborn of Chelsea, Michigan; also survived by nine grandchildren, Billy, Kristine, Joe, Eric, Kate, Beth, Anna, Sean, and Heather and a great grandchild, Kai. He was predeceased by a daughter, Vicky Chapman of Houston, Texas.
He was born in Shreveport, LA son of the late Edwin G. and Bertha I. (Williams) Wellborn and has lived in Shrewsbury for many years.Mr. Wellborn recieved his B.S. from Louisiana State University and his Masters Degree from Perdue University. He was a proud veteran of World War II.
Mr. Wellborn was a senior technical vice president and metallurgist for Washington Mills in North Grafton, prior to his retirement.
He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury; a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of the Shrine.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service honoring Bill's life on Thursday, August 30th at 11 AM in the Chapel of First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury, 19 Church Road, Shrewsbury.

John R. "Bob" Wentzell
October 11, 1927 - April 15, 2006

Shrewsbury - John R. "Bob" Wentzell, 78, of 12 Deerfield Rd., died Thursday, April 13, 2006 in the Hospice Residence at Coes Pond, Worcester. He leaves his wife of 50 years, Norma L. (Burdett) Wentzell, a son, John Wentzell and his wife Anne; a daughter Paula Carlin and her husband Stephen all of Shrewsbury; two brothers, Arthur Wentzell of Westboro; Gordon Wentzell of Oakham; five grandchildren, Scott and Erika Wentzell; David, Sarah and Mark O'Brien; nieces and nephews. Bob was born in Worcester the son of Arthur and Tekla (Bergstrom) Wentzell. He graduated from North High School and Worcester Junior College. He served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII and Korea, earning the rank of Sargeant. Bob was a self employed Transportation Consultant in Shrewsbury and also an Insurance Broker with Wolpert Insurance in Worcester. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Boylston and its Church Council. Bob was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Westboro Country Club. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 19 at 11 a.m. in the First Congregational Church of Boylston, 10 Church St. Boylston, MA. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Calling hours are Tuesday, April 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. in Britton Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to VNA Care Network, Inc. of Central MA, 120 Thomas St. Worcester, MA 01606 or to First Congregational Church of Boylston Memorial Fund, 10 Church St., Boylston, MA 01505.

Elna K. (Olson) Wester
June 14, 1913 - September 7, 2007

WORCESTER - Elna K. (Olson) Wester, 94, formerly of Auburn, died September 7th in the Holy Trinity Nursing Home, after an illness.

Her husband, Thure O. Wester died in 1986.

She leaves her son, Dr. Richard T. Wester of Salem, Kenneth O. Wester of Bloomfield, CO, and Robert E. Wester of Worcester; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her four sisters, Ruth Sweet, Florence J. M. Olson, Greta Eckberg, and Gunhild Berg. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Oscar and Emma N. (Johnson) Olson and lived many years in Auburn. A longtime homemaker, Mrs. Wester enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

A memorial service celebrating Mrs. Wester's life will be held on Saturday, September 29th at 11 AM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

TIA WESTERLIND
February 27, 1950 - February 27, 2007

Worcester - Tia (Dalambakis) Westerlind, 57, of Marland Road died Tuesday February 27, at home after a long battle with cancer.

Tia is survived by her husband of 33 years Paul, her daughter Kerrin, sons Daniel and his wife Lisa and Brian and his fiance Amy Venskus; her grandson Brady, mother Madeline (Zogas) Dalambakis and brother George. Her father Nicholas and son Michael predeceased her. Tia enjoyed a very close and special relationship with the Westerlinds: John and Betty, Jim and Eiko, Kate, Martha and Dave, David and Christine, Jane and Dave, as well as, her nieces and nephews.

Born in Worcester, Tia graduated from Doherty Memorial High and Worcester State College. She was an Assistant Underwriter and Customer Service Specialist for more than 20 years at Hanover Insurance Company.

Her funeral will be held Friday March 2, 2007 from the funeral home with a service at 11:00 AM in Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5-8 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury, MA

Russell L. Weymouth, Jr.
September 30, 1950 - June 14, 2006

AUBURN, MA - Russell L. Weymouth, Jr., 55, of Linda Avenue, Auburn, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, June 14th in his home.

He leaves a sister, Judith E. Dowd of Shrewsbury; two nephews, Andrew T. Dowd of Northborough and Daniel J. Dowd of Phippsburg, Maine; a niece, Lauren S. Heintz o f Douglas; two grand nephews and 3 grand nieces.

Russell was born in Worcester, son of the late Russell L. Weymouth, Sr., and Alice B. (Morin) Weymouth and had lived in Auburn for the past 25 years. He graduated from Nipmuc High School.

Mr. Weymouth had worked for U.P.S. for a few years, previously he worked as a Maintenance Mechanic for New England Grocer. Russell was a member of Local # 170 Teamsters. He also was an avid cyclist and was a member of Seven Hills Wheelmen for many years.

Russell was a good person who was true to himself.

Services and burial will be private. Memorial contributions in Russell's memory can be made to the American Cancer Society, Mass Division, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or to a charity of one's choice. Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn is assisting the family with arrangements.

Peter J. White
April 22, 1917 - September 29, 2006

WORCESTER - Peter J. White, 89, of Bullard Ave., died Friday, Sept. 29th at the Lutheran Home of Worcester.

He leaves his wife of 64 years, Jeannette E. (Cusson) White; his eight children, Roland P. White and his wife Robin, and Raymond J. White and his companion, Bettty, Jane Brouilliard, both of Auburn, Norman P. White and his wife Bernadette, Robert J. White and his wife Roberta, Peter J. White and his wife Sandra, all of Worcester, James A. White of Kansas City, MO, Paul L. White and his wife Bernice of Avondale, AZ, and Lorraine M., wife of Richard Gorman of Lakeland, TN; his 16 grandchildren, Alan White, Kerri and her husband Russell O'Keefe, Nicole and her husband Charles Murphy, Holly and her husband Doug Schmidt, Christopher White, Cheryl and her husband Scott Howerton, Amy and her husband Jason Pariseau, Brenda, Deanna, James Daniel, Austin, Peter III, Michael, Alisa, Rachel, and Amber ; his nine great grandchildren, Samantha, Trevor, Marley, Madeline, Mercy, Colesie, Matthew, Tyler, and Joseph; three brothers, Robert White of Shrewsbury, Thomas White of California, and William White of Northborough; three sisters, Judy Blanchard of Shrewsbury, Ruth Esteeves of West Boylston and Marianne Kittridge of Quinebaug, CT; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by five of his brothers, Joseph, Edmund, Frank, Roland, and Arthur White, and his sister, Elizabeth DeAngelis.

He was born in Worcester and raised in Shrewsbury, a son of Peter H. and Elizabeth (Miner) White. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving from 1942 to 1945. Following his army service, Peter began a successful 36-year career as a self employed master plasterer. He was a member of the Master Home Builders Association earning a lifetime Honorarv membership after 50 years of craftsmanship. He was well known for his unique swirl ceilings and for creating some of the first veneer plaster wall finishes in Central Massachusetts. Pete liked to say he "got plastered every day of his life". He was also a 3rd degree member of The Knights of Columbus of the 88"' council as well as a member of the Shrewsbury Grange #101.

He was an avid fisherman who made each opening day at Coal Mine Brook. He loved to garden and tend to his yard. He loved all animals and especially enjoyed feeding and observing birds. He had a passion for music both listening to and playing as a self - taught musician. lie enjoyed all types of music and Polka dancing with his wife. He loved to tease his grandchildren and was a "story teller", always with a twinkle in his eye. His devotion and love of his family will always be cherished in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Anna Temple White
December 12, 1918 - March 12, 2007

Anna Temple White, 88, of 201 Heard Street Worcester, MA died March 12, 2007 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Leonard H. White for 65 years, who survives her. She was born December 12, 1918 in Northborough, MA, daughter of the late Perlie and Agnella (Lanois) Temple and sister of Ernest and Hazel Temple. Ann grew up in Uxbridge, MA and graduated from Uxbridge High School in 1937. She graduated from Boston Hospital Nursing School where she earned her Licensed Practical Nurse degree. Ann worked at the Children's Convalescent Home and from 1939 to 1942 she was a private nurse.

Married in 1942, Ann and Leonard first resided in Newark, NJ where their first daughter, Susan, was born in 1943. After Leonard's 3 years of Naval service during World War II, he and Ann returned to Worcester, MA where they lived and raised three more children; Janie, David, and Wendy.

Ann's role as a mother was the centerpiece of her life, a life which was filled with many additional achievements. She was the co-leader of Girl Scout Troop 158 for over 15 years, Past President of the Worcester YWCA, past Chairman of the Board of Visitors of the Washburn House, and a member of the Women's Club of Worcester. She was a member of All Saints Church, the Alter Guild, and Couples' Club, and the former Rotaryanns of Auburn. In addition, she loved to oil paint, and graced many of the rooms in her home with her original art.

Her most enjoyable times were those spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren involving their company, accomplishments, and interests. Ann spent many wonderful vacations traveling and even went on a trip around the World in 1995. She was a woman of warmth, charm, good humor, and was devoted to her family.

Besides her beloved husband, Ann leaves her four children, Susan Premo and her husband Walter of Rutland, MA, Janie Larson and her husband Bruce of New Milford, CT, David White and his wife Shirley of North Grafton, MA, and Wendy Bowen and her husband Nick of Newtown, CT.; her nine grandchildren, and a great-grandchild due to be born in August.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, March 15, 2007 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in Britton-Wallace Funeral Home at 91 Central Street in Auburn, MA. The service will be held on Friday, March 16, 2007 at 10:00am at All Saints Church at 10 Irving Street Worcester, MA. Burial will follow at the Hillside cemetery in Auburn, MA

Anne C. (Seman) Wickwire
April 21, 1935 - November 21, 2005

WORCESTER - Anne C. (Seman) Wickwire, 70, of 290 Webster St., died Monday, November 21st in the UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester, after an illness.

She leaves her loving husband of 50 years, Otis E. Wickwire, several cousins and many good friends.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late John and Anna (Blundskas) Seman and was a life long resident. She graduated from Commerce High School.

Anne worked along side her husband for more that 35 at their store, Hadwen Park Market, before retiring. Following her retirement, she immersed herself in volunteering for many groups, most notably at Abbey's House in Worcester.

She was a 50 year member of the Hadwen Park Congregational Church, where she was active on many committees, the deaconate and was a Sunday school teacher. She and her husband were also responsible for assembling the food for over 100 food baskets given by the church for the needy families in Worcester at Thanksgiving and Christmas time. She was a member and former treasurer of the Cedar Meadow Lake Association, Leicester. She loved to travel and visited many islands in the Caribbean and the Pacific.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn on Friday, November 25th from 5-8 PM. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, November 26th at 10 AM in the Hadwen Park Congregational Church, 6 Clover St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

John P. Williams
March 25, 1939 - March 18, 2006

AUBURN, MA - John P. Williams, 66, of 52 Barbara Avenue, a Truck Driver, died Saturday in UMass Memorial Medical Center, 55 Lake Ave, after a short illness. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mrs. Joan (Riordan) Williams; three sons: Michael J. and his wife, Kaidi (Chiao) Williams, of Paris, France, Stephen P. Williams, of Worcester, Sean P. Williams, of New York City, New York; and his daughter, Susan, and her husband, Christopher Palma, of Guilford, CT.; four loving grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A brother, James V. Williams, and a sister, Julie Vessalla, predeceased him.
He was born in Worcester, the son of the late John S. and Grace (Gorman) Williams. He was raised and educated in Worcester. He is a graduate of Saint Stephen's High School.
Mr. Williams was a truck driver, and worked for several trucking companies in the area, including Roadway Express, Ryder Trucking and most recently Yellow Freight, from which he retired in 2000.
Mr. Williams proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, was an avid sports fan, and especially loved playing with his four grandchildren: Maeve, Joey, Nia and Audrey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday from 5-8 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. His Funeral will be held Tuesday from the funeral home, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph's Church 194 Oxford Street, Auburn. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park.

SARAH (FELLOWS) WILLIAMS
January 18, 1904 - January 9, 2007

WORCESTER - Sarah (Fellows) Williams, 102, a former resident of the Colony Retirement Homes and of Harrison Avenue, Auburn, died Tuesday, January 9th in the Christopher House.

Her husband, Erven A. Williams died in 1975.

She leaves two daughters, Eleanor L. Legg and her husband Willard of Leicester and Marjorie A. Pratt and her husband Robert of Worcester; nine grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Joanne E. Pratt and her siblings, George, Ellen and Dorothy Fellows.

She was born and raised in Worcester, a daughter of the late Calvin P. and Carrie A. (York) Fellows and had lived in Auburn for many years before returning to Worcester 25 years ago. She graduated from the former Commerce High School.

Mrs. Williams was a longtime member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Worcester, was a past president of the United Methodist Women and spent many hours volunteering with different church activities. One of her favorite activities over the past several years was to knit hats for Worcester school children, having created hundreds throughout the years. The hat she was recently knitting will be finished by her granddaughter. She also spent 10 years as a Braille transcriber, donating her services to help vision impaired school children by transcribing text books.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Sarah's family on Saturday, January 13th from 10 11 AM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.
