Joseph "Bill" Ricard
December 22, 1936 - December 7, 2006
BOYNTON BEACH, FL - Joseph "Bill" Ricard, 69, of Boynton Beach, Florida, formerly of Oxford and Auburn, passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side on the 7th of December in Delray Community Hospital in Del Ray, Florida. He was taken by God earlier than expected.
Joseph "Bill" was able to see each of his children that he was so proud of last month before his conditioned worsened. He was at peace in his heart as was always referred to as a "fighter" by the doctors.
He leaves his devoted wife of 37 years, Cheryl A. Ricard, his soul mate, caretaker, and best friend who never left his side throughout his illness.
Bill also leaves 6 children, Joseph W. Ricard and his wife, Michelle of Jacksonville, Florida, Annette M. Fredette and her husband, Leonard of Worcester, Daniel L. Ricard of Worcester, James P. Ricard and his wife Tracey, of Jacksonville, FL, Kenneth A. Ricard of Webster and Victoria M. Ricard-Crosbie of Auburn. "Pepere" as he was called, leaves 16 beautiful grandchildren and 2 great grandsons, and several nieces and nephews with whom he always kidded with. Bill will be joining his son, Rex E. Ricard who left us on December 17, 1994. He also was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Ricard and Reverend Norman Ricard.
He was born on December 22, 1936 in Winstead, CT, son of the late Mary Ellen Drugan and was the adoptive son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ricard. Bill attended St. John's Catholic School and graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School in 1954. He then enlisted into the United States Air Force.
Mr. Ricard was a medic in the United States Air Force from 1954 until 1974, he was stationed in many different places including Alaska, Vermont, Korea, Washington and Florida. He also worked from 1974 through 1985 without missing a day in the NICU at Memorial Hospital in Worcester. Bill later was employed as a courier for Crowley Courier's from 1985 until he retired in1995.
Bill and his wife, Cheryl moved to Florida in 1998. He will be sadly missed by his friends and fellow card players in Florida. The family would also like to thank all of those who have been supporting them throughout these last few difficult years.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Bill's family on Monday, December 11th from 4-8 P.M. in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 12th at 11 AM in the Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove Street, Worcester. Burial with Military Honors will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Francis P. Ricciardi

WORCESTER / SOUTH DENNIS - Francis P. "Frank" Ricciardi, Sr. 79, of Worcester and South Dennis died suddenly Tuesday, November 15th in St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by his devoted wife and family.
He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Antoinette "Toni" (Rondinone) Ricciardi. Together the two shared six children; Francis P., Jr. "Butch" and his wife, Patricia of Shrewsbury; Linda A. Gazal and her husband, Arthur S. of Worcester; Paul S. and his wife Debbe of Auburn; James M. and his wife, Sharon of Boylston; Annunzia Grilla and her husband, Marco of Worcester and Michael J. and his wife, Deborah of Centerville.
He also leaves his brothers, Pasquale and John Ricciardi both of Worcester, Joseph Ricciardi of Shrewsbury; two sisters, Philomena Borgatti of East Dennis and Theresa Galli of Shrewsbury. He was predeceased by his sisters, Lucy Babowitch, Mary Geralomo, Anne Perucci and Margaret Ricciardi.
He and his wife Tony enjoyed 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild. The two of them were living in South Dennis at the time of his death.
Frank was born in Worcester, son of the late Francesco and Margaret (Bovenzi) Ricciardi.
Frank had served his country in the South Pacific with the U.S. Navy during W.W. II. He was a first class seaman and part of the fire brigade aboard the U.S.S. Ticonderoga and the U.S.S. Shangri-La. He returned from the Navy and attended Commerce High School in Worcester, where he met his wife. He played semi-pro baseball for Bill Hoyle's Community League, The Piccadilly, and for Wyman Gordon's. He also played semi-pro football for the Maple leafs and Bayer-Mingolla. Frank was a retired Superintendent of United Tool.
Frank was a man of strong faith who attended church weekly. He enjoyed golf, playing cards with his friends, and shell fishing on Cape Cod. Frank will be sadly missed by all those who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Frank's family on Friday, November 18th from 4-8 P.M. in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 19th at 10:30 A.M. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel- St. Ann Church, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester. Burial will be in the family lot in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. The family requests that flowers be omitted please.
LEONA I. (MCFARLANE) RICE
November 27, 1921 - May 9, 2007
SHREWSBURY - Leona I. (McFarlane) Rice, 85, of Shrewsbury died Wednesday, May 9th in the UMass Memorial Medical Center- University Campus after an illness.
She is survived by a daughter, Connie Kilgour and her husband, Donald, of Intervale, New Hampshire; two sisters, Gladys Taylor and Alice Boynton both of Millinocket, Maine; a grandson, Zachary Eggers and his wife, Gretchen of Pembroke, MA; two great grandsons, Tyler and Jack; and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband, William; a daughter, Elizabeth, and 6 siblings.
Leona was born in Millinocket, Maine and had lived in Shrewsbury for 54 years. She graduated from Farmington Normal School in Farmington, Maine and later continued her education at Worcester State College graduating in 1963 with her B.S in Education.
Mrs. Rice and was a dedicated Teacher for the Shrewsbury School System for 25 years before she retired. Leona was a member of the Shrewsbury Women's Club; The Shrewsbury Historical Society and had served as the historian and chaplain of Alpha Delta Kappa, an honorary society of women educators.
Relative and friends are invited to visit with Leona's family on Monday, May 14th from 4:30-7:30 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 15th at 11 A.M. in Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Claire A. (Adams) Farrell Risotti

AUBURN, MA - Claire A. (Adams) Farrell Risotti, 53, of Auburn, a lifelong Auburn resident, died Friday in her home after an illness.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph M. "Michael" Risotti, her children, Sean P. Farrell, of Auburn, Keith E. Farrell, and his wife, Sherry, all of Auburn, Erin M. Shermin, and her husband Jonathan, of Leicester, 2 grandchildren, Collin J. Farrell, and Kaitlyn C. Shermin, and her mother Pauline (Dube) Macdougall. She also leaves her brothers, Dennis J. Adams and his wife, Lois of Worcester, John G. Adams of Gardner, Richard G. Adams and his wife Christine of Grafton. His sister Gloria J. Faucher and her husband Gordon, of Webster. Other family members include her Step children; Michael T. Risotti, of Greensboro, NC, Danielle L. Westcott, of E. Brookfield, Sarah E. Risotti, of Spencer, and step grandchildren Taylor and Jacob Westcott, of East Brookfield. She also leaves her step-father Donald Macdougall, of Grafton.
She was born in Auburn, daughter of the late. Roger B. Adams. She was educated in Auburn schools and is a 1970 graduate of Auburn High School.
Mrs. Risotti worked for Papa Gino's in Auburn for many years retiring in April; she also was employed by the Auburn Wellness Club.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 6-9 Tuesday in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. Her funeral will be held Wednesday from the funeral home with a Mass at 9:30 AM in Saint Joseph's Church; 194 Oxford St, North, Auburn, burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
Edna May Rivenburg
June 23, 1913 - August 13, 2006
Framingham - Edna M. (Monaghan) 93, of Framingham, formerly Arlington, died Sunday in Saint Patrick's Manor, Framingham, after a brief illness. She is survived by her two sons; David N. Rivenburg, and his wife Virginia of Mattapoisett, and Charles A. Rivenburg, and his wife Kathleen of Shrewsbury. 4 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
Her husband W. Alfred Rivenburg died in 1975 Other predeceased members of her family include; a brother Charles Monaghan, and a sister Arlene Gozdz.
She was born in the Talcottville section of Vernon, CT the daughter of the late William C. and Grace D. (Smith) Monaghan.
She lived many years in Arlington, before moving to Framingham in 2005

Edmire D. "Simmy" Robbins

Auburn - Edmire D. "Simmy" (Chausse) Robbins, 89, of Santom St., died Friday, Nov. 18th at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her loving family.
Her husband, Daniel A. Robbins, Jr. died in 1995.
She leaves her three children, Norma J. Morgan of Auburn, Beverly A. Bostwick of Thompson, CT and Daniel A. Robbins, III of Oxford; nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her twin daughters, Joan R, Robbins and Jeanne R. Hittman in 1988, and her brothers, Alexis P. Chausse, Jr., Maxime J. and Hector R. Chausse, and her sisters, Eva O. Kuczinski and Florance M. Mahoney.
She was born in Wikinsonville, a daughter of the late Alexis P. Hermina A. (Donais) Chausse and has lived in Auburn for many years.
Mrs. Robbins worked as a waitress for many years for the former Coffee Cup Restaurant and the Flying Yankee Diner, both in Auburn.
She was a member of Saint Joseph's Parish in Auburn and was very active at the Auburn Senior Center and with the Elder Nutrition Program.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, November 21st from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Her funeral will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 22nd from the funeral home with a Mass at 12 Noon in Saint Joseph Church, 189 Oxford Street North, Auburn. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

Maureen T. (Curnin) Roberts
November 23, 1938 - January 17, 2006
AUBURN, MA - Maureen T. (Curnin) Roberts, of 200 Oxford Street North, died Tuesday morning in the Life Care Center of Auburn.
She leaves her husband, John W. Roberts; her five children, Dawn Carrelli of Shrewsbury, Kim Castro, Robin Williams and John W. Roberts, Jr. all of Worcester and Paul Roberts of Rutland, as well as several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late John F. and Gertrude M. (Turnquist) Curnin and has lived in Auburn for several years.
A longtime homemaker, Mrs. Roberts also had worked as a nurse's aide and also for the former Woodbury Printers.
Funeral services will be private.

Mary B. (Scanlon) Robinson
OCTOBER 2, 1918 - JULY 15, 2007
AUBURN, MA - Mary B. (Scanlon) Robinson, 88, formerly of Hampton St., a 40 year registered nurse and career nurse anesthetist, died Sunday, July 15th in the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, Worcester.
Mrs. Robinson was a 1940 graduate of the St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing and further pursued studies in Infectious Diseases at Charles Chapin Hospital, Providence, RI. She completed the St. Vincent Hospital School of Anesthesia in 1942 and began a long career as an RN and nurse anesthetist.
She was born in Clinton, daughter of the late John and Ann (O'Toole) Scanlon. She was married
to the late Horace W. Robinson, who died in 1997, in 1950 and moved to the Pakachoag Hill area in Auburn. She was an active member of the North American Martyrs Church.
Mary is survived by her 4 children; Ann Robinson of Brookline, MA, Stephen Robinson of Shrewsbury, MA, Mark Robinson of Auburn, MA and John Robinson of Williamsburg, VA. She also leaves ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, July 17th from 6 -8 P.M in Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. Her funeral will be Wednesday, July 18th from the funeral home with a funeral Mass celebrated at 10 AM in North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Dr., Auburn. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery, Worcester.
Gemelia ((Gattie) Roche
August 12, 1909 - March 11, 2006
Gemelia Roche, 96, died peacefully March 11th at Notre Dame Long Term Care, Worcester.
She leaves her son, Patrick Roche, and his wife Judith of Solebury, PA and her daughter Kathleen Forletta, wife of Bernard of Shrewsbury. She also leaves six loving grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Her family is deeply grateful to the staff of Notre Dame and the UMass Memorial Hospice team for all their love and compassionate care.
A funeral Mass will be held in Gemelia's home parish of Our Mother of Good Counsel in Blasdell, NY in the spring.
