March 27, 1918 - February 24, 2007
AUBURN, MA - Esther (Kearnan) Miller, 88, of 200 Oxford Street North, died Saturday, February 24th in Webster Manor Nursing Home.
Her husband of 41 years, Russell G. Miller died in 1989.
She leaves her daughter, Susan Lantz and her husband Ronald of Charlton, and her son, Paul Miller of Greene, ME; her five grandchildren, Heather, Jason and Michael Lantz, Kelly Craft and Megan Turcotte; her three great grandchildren, Emily and Andrew Craft, and Joshua Turcotte; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was born in Milford, a daughter of the late James B. and Lula E. (Milan) Kearnan and has lived in Auburn for many years. She graduated from Milford High School.
Mrs. Miller was a cafeteria worker at the Julia Bancroft School in Auburn for many years prior to her retiring in 1980. She also was a longtime election worker for the Town of Auburn.
She was a member of Saint Joseph's Parish in Auburn, where she had volunteered at its former Thrift Shoppe for many years. She enjoyed bingo and traveling, and was a longtime member of bowling leagues at the former Thunderbird Bowl in Auburn, at the Mohegan Bowl-A-Drome, Webster and the Colonial Lanes, Worcester.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, February 27th from 4-7 PM in Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 28th from the funeral home with a Mass celebrated at 11 AM in Saint Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford St., Auburn. Cremation will follow with private burial in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.

AUBURN - Ann S. (Prostak) Miller, 90, of Church Street, died Friday, September 7th in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester after a brief illness.
She leaves a son Joseph V. Miller III and his wife Barbara of Auburn; a granddaughter, Anissa L. Miller, and her great grandson Derek J. (DJ) Brigham of Auburn, all of whom were the love of her life and happiness. She also leaves a sister Helen J. Lucyniak of Auburn; sisters in-law Josephine Prostak and Teresa Prostak of Worcester; Sophie Pruszynski and Rita Montgomery and her husband Robert of Dallas, Texas; and several nieces & nephews and several great nieces & nephews.
Ann was predeceased by her husband Joseph V. Miller II who died in 1996, three brothers, Stanley, Walter & Edward and a sister Isabel Petracca.
Ann was educated in the Worcester school system and the American Institute of Banking. She worked for many years as a Student Loan Officer, retiring in 1982.
Ann was a member of St. Joseph's Church and its former Catholic Women's league; past member of the Auburn Women's Club; Past member of Savings Bank Women of Massachusetts; Past member of Worcester District Credit Women International and a Notary Public.
Ann was an accomplished pianist having played for many variety shows in the Worcester area, one of which was the Worcester Light Opera Club.

Lynn M. Mills

AUBURN, MA - Lynn Marie (Forgea) Mills, 56 of Pearl Street, Auburn, died Tuesday in her home, surrounded by her family and a close friend, after a struggle with cancer.
She is survived by her husband, Robert T. Mills, and her son Brent A. LeBeau, of Pittsfield, her brother George H. Forgea, and his wife Deborah, a nephew Tyler G. Forgea, and Great Aunt and Godmother, Emily Peltier, all of North Adams.
She was born in North Adams, the daughter of the late George H. and Mildred G. (Tourjee) Forgea; she was educated in North Adams schools.
She worked as an engineer for the former NYNEX, for many years, retiring in 1996
Lynn was a talented freehand artist, she loved to read, and she was a lover of all animals, especially her 3 Greyhounds, Samantha, Emma, and Sarah.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 5-8 PM Friday in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. Her funeral will be held Saturday from the funeral home, with a Mass at 10:30 AM in Saint Joseph's Church, 194 Oxford Street, Auburn. Burial in North Adams will be held at the convenience of the family.

Irene Rose (Brodeur) Mills

AUBURN, MA - Irene R. (Brodeur) Mills - wife of Lloyd A. Mills passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, January 26, 2007. Irene was born in Worcester on December 23, 1925. Irene was a graduate of South High School and Slater Secretarial School. She and her family lived in Auburn since 1950. She was a secretary for several years before retirement in 1990 from Epco Fabricating, Inc., Sutton, MA. Besides her devoted husband of sixty years, she leaves her four children; Pamela A. and her husband Kevin Flanagan of Nokomis, FL, Lloyd A. Mills, Jr. of Auburn, Deborah S. and her husband William Bowles of Higganum, CT and Gary R. Mills of Auburn. She leaves five grandsons, four granddaughters, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Robert V. Brodeur of Worcester.
Irene was member of North American Matyrs Church in Auburn for many years.

EVERETT "RICK" MINKEMA
May 27, 1936 - December 16, 2006
North Grafton - Everett R. "Rick" Minkema, 70 of Faulkner Rd. died Saturday, Dec 16th at home.
He leaves his companion of 40 years, Alva E. Rainsford and several family members in the Worcester area.
He was born and raised in Whitinsville. He worked for several area manufacturing companies as a machinist. Rick enjoyed playing slow pitch softball, was an award winning bowler who played on "Candlepins for Cash", and pitched horseshoes in many tournaments including the World Tournament in Ohio.
A memorial service celebrating Rick's life will be held on Wednesday, December 20th at 8 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. The family will receive guests from 7-8 PM at the funeral home.
Charles J. Modzelewski
February 10, 1927 - August 22, 2006
Auburn - Charles J. Modzelewski, 79, of Auburn died Tuesday, August 22nd after being stricken ill at home.
He leaves his loving wife of 56 years, Theresa J. (Zikaras); his three children, John C. Modzelewski and his wife, Christine of Cordova, TN, Helen A. Wojnarowicz of Auburn, and Theresa A., wife of Paul Sarsfield of Charlton; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
He was born in Worcester, son of the late Valentine and Helen (Karis) Modzelewski and has lived in Auburn for many years. He graduated from Boys Trade School, Worcester.
Mr. Modzelewski joined the US Navy in 1945, and served on Iwo Jima. He later served in the Merchant Marine for several years.
Prior to his retirement 15 years ago, Charlie worked for the Norton Company Plant 7, Worcester for 30 years.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Church and attended Mass daily for many years. He was very proud of his yard and enjoyed spending time there to make sure it was always in pristine shape. He also enjoyed bowling for many years, and loved his trips to Foxwoods.

Ralph K. Mongeon

SHREWSBURY - Ralph K. Mongeon, 72, of Sewall Street, a retired mechanical engineer, died Saturday in his home, after an illness.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years Dorothy (Backholm) Mongeon, his daughter; Cheryl A. Mongeon, his son Kenneth S. Mongeon, and his wife Tanya, and his grandson, Connor Mongeon. He also leaves a brother Paul K. Mongeon, his wife Betty, his mother in law Mrs. Grace Backholm, and several nieces and nephews.
He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Ralph K. and Aino "Inky" (Aalto) Mongeon. He was educated in the Worcester schools. He was a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and Army ROTC. After college, Mr. Mongeon served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He received his Masters Degree from Anna Maria College and also attended the Worcester School for Industrial Management.
He retired after working 43 years as a mechanical engineer for the former Riley Stoker Corp., now known as Babcock Power. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Boylston Grange, The First Congregational Church of Boylston, where he served as a former Deacon and Moderator, and the WPI "Old Timers" Club.
He favorite activities included skiing and golfing. He was an avid photographer and enjoyed travel and vacationing in Florida with family and friends.

ESTELLE A. (BIELACK) KORP MONROE

WORCESTER - Estelle Ann (Bielack) Korp Monroe, 91 of Worcester, a former 60 year resident of Auburn, died Friday in Radius Healthcare in Worcester, after an illness.
Her husband, Paul L. Monroe, predeceased her in 1993 She leaves her children; Carl A. Korp, of Granberry, TX, Susan E. Ozcan, of Worcester, Patricia A. Booth, of Sterling, Ethel C. Cote, of Wolfborough, NH, and a sister Alice Keith, of Thompson, CT. Other members of her family include 23 adoring grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by sons; Paul A. Monroe and Dennis M. Monroe, and brothers; Joseph, Ralph and Carl Bielack, and a sister Genevieve Garneau Fortin.
She was born in Hadley, MA, the daughter of the late John and Catherine (Kurash) Bielack she was educated in Worcester schools.
Mrs. Monroe worked for many years for Stanley Home Products both as a Home Demonstrator and District Manager. After her retirement in the mid 1970's she volunteered at Saint Joseph's Church Thrift Store, and also as a van driver for the Auburn Senior Citizens Center.
She enjoyed cooking, knitting and dancing to polkas.

EDWARD J. MORAN
July 20, 1929 - August 28, 2007
SHREWSBURY - Edward J. Moran, 78, formerly of Harriet Avenue, Shrewsbury, died Tuesday, August 28th in the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester after an illness.
He leaves is wife of 55 years, Marjorie A. (LaBoffa) Moran; his children, Patti M. McCarthy and her husband, Michael of Tequesta, Florida; Michael E. Moran and his wife, Patti of East Brookfield; Paul J. Moran and his wife, Kathy of Holden; Kathie A. Albert and her husband, Don of Mesa, Arizona and Eddie T. Moran and his wife, Greta of Marietta, Georgia; a brother, Donald Moran and his wife, Mary of Worcester; a sister in law, Mary Moran of Worcester; he is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Lauren, Megan, Kyle, Tyler, and Travis; several step grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his 4 brothers, James, William, Robert, Thomas and a sister, Mary Carvelli.
Mr. Moran was born in Worcester, son of the late James F. and Lillian A. (Nichols) Moran and has lived in Shrewsbury for 45 years. He graduated from St. John's High School in 1947 and Boston University in 1951.
Ed had worked after college for many construction companies including, Perini Construction and Gilbane Building Company. He was a professional land surveyor and started his own business, Moran Survey Inc. in Shrewsbury in 1966, retiring in 2000 after 34 years of ownership.
Ed was an avid golfer, he played at many local courses including, Pleasant Valley Country Club, in Sutton, Worcester Country Club and Wachusett Country Club in Holden. He and his wife also spent many winters in Tequesta, Florida where he was a member and club champion four times of Riverbend Country Club. One of Ed's highlights of his golf career was making a" Hole in One" at Wachusett Country Club with two of his sons and a brother by his side.
He was a faithful member of Saint Mary's Parish in Shrewsbury and was a very active member in the Shrewsbury Knights of Columbus, Adelphi Council # 4181 where he was installed as Grand Knight twice.
For many years, Ed and his wife, Marjorie enjoyed traveling extensively with friends and family. He also found time in his busy schedule to manage little league for the town of Shrewsbury for many years.

Paul Leo Morin
August 29, 1922 - February 23, 2007
NORTH OXFORD - Paul L. Morin, 84, formerly of Worcester and Auburn, died Friday, February 23rd in Autumn Village, Worcester, after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 58 years, Norean S. (Chamberlain) Morin; two daughters, Sharon Benoit of Shrewsbury and Joy Holmgren of Sturbridge; a son, Kevin Morin of Worcester; a brother, Phillip Morin of Lakeland, FL; three sisters, Olive Rabidou of Holden, Theresa Johnson of Worcester and Yvonne Germain of Dudley; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his siblings, Ernest, Antoinette, Beatrice, Cecile, Victor, Hector and Noella. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late Arthur and Sophie (Metivier) Morin and attended schools there. He later lived in Auburn and then Worcester for more almost 40 years before moving to North Oxford several years ago.
He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Forces.
Mr. Morin worked as a machinist for many years for the SP Stephens Co., Worcester before retiring. He was a member of North American Martyrs Parish, Auburn.

WORCESTER - Elzear W. "Frenchie" Morneault, 77 of 425 Pleasant Street, a longtime carpenter, died Sunday at Saint Vincent's Hospital, after an illness.
He leaves his 7 children, Donald Morneault, of New Britain, CT, Sharon Lavertue, of Forestville, CT, Gloria Corriveau, of Southington, CT, Jeffrey Morneault of Plainville, CT, Kathleen Kowalsky, of Dothan, AL, Sheila Bouchard, of Terryville, CT, and Christopher Morneault, of Northborough, 18 Grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Among his survivors include his 5 brothers; Lewellyn Morneault, of FT. Kent ME, Roland Morneault, of Hope Mills, NC, Gilbert Morneault, of ID, Roger Morneault, of Virginia, and Maurice Morneault, Buxton, ME.
He was born in Fort Kent, ME the son of the late Wilfrid, and Olive (Lafferriere) Morneault, he was educated in Ft. Kent schools.
Mr. Morneault worked as a self employed carpenter for most of life, retiring in 1994
Among his hobbies Mr. Morneault enjoyed using a personal computer to explore cyber space, and to chat with his family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather at 9:00 AM Saturday, May 20, at the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St. Auburn Ma.to recall his life and times, which will be followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM. Burial will be held at a later time in Fort Kent, ME.
