Everett "Bud" Knowlton
October 17, 1917 - January 3, 2007
AUBURN, MA - Everett "Bud" Knowlton formerly of Worcester passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 3rd. Bud is Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Evelyn (Holden) and his daughter Diane, both of Auburn.
Bud is also survived by his two sisters, Dorothy Wilson, and Marion MacMillan, both of Auburn, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Earl Kowlton, and his sister Mildred Bjork.
Bud served in the US Army during WWII. He worked for Riley Stoker for over 40 years, he retired in 1983.
Mr. Knowlton was a member of the First Congregational Church of Auburn, and Greendale Men's club. Bud enjoyed playing cards woodcarving and camping at Nickerson State Park; where he enjoyed swimming in the bay and in the ponds at Nickerson. He also loved camping in the cabins at Lobsterbouy Campground, in S. Thompson Maine, and vacationing with his whole family in S. Arm, Maine.
His funeral was held privately. A burial will be held at a time to be announced.

KENNETH E. KORPI
May 24, 1937 - June 28, 2007
SHREWSBURY - Kenneth E. "Papa" Korpi. 70 of Shrewsbury passed away in his daughter's home on Thursday, June 28th in the loving care of his wife of 47 years, Eileen M. (McNamara) Korpi. He was a wonderful father of two daughters, Charlene King and Sharon Hirtle and her husband, David. He also leaves three beloved granddaughters, Katelyn and Ellen Hirtle and Sarah King all of Shrewsbury.
Mr. Korpi was bon in Worcester and raised in Rutland, son of the late Arvo M. and Linnea W. (Taipale) Korpi and had lived in Shrewsbury for 46 years. He graduated from Wachusett Regional High School and Worcester Vocational School, earning a certificate in Carpentry.
Ken had worked for the Town of Shrewsbury as a Heavy Equipment Operator for many years before he retired in 1996. He proudly served in the Naval Seabee Reserves for 34 years retiring in 1989 as a Chief Petty Officer Builder.
He treasured his marriage and family and loved spending time with his granddaughters. He also enjoyed working in his trade throughout his life and was fondly referred to by his granddaughters as "Mr. Fix-it". Ken leaves a legacy of acceptance and perseverance and taught us all that everyday is a gift.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the many exceptional medical professionals assisting Ken throughout his illness. Special thanks for the countless blessings of Suzanne Dwinell, R.N. and the Staff of UMass Memorial Hospice.

A celebration of his life will be celebrated with a funeral Mass at Saint Mary's Church, 648 Main St, Shrewsbury on Monday, July 2nd at 10 A.M. AUDREY J. KOSKY

Audrey J. Kosky, of 18 Jade Hill Rd, a retired school teacher, died Sunday, August 19, at the Auburn Life Care Center, after a long and brave battle with a serious illness. Audrey leaves her loving husband of 31 years, Paul G. Kosky; two daughters, Dr. Misty
Eaton of Puerto Rico, and April (Eaton) Brown (wife of Mark Brown) of Sutton; one grandchild, Ally Brown; a sister, Beverly Pattee (wife of the late Gerald Pattee) of Oxford, a brother Daniel Smith and his wife, Sheila, of Auburn; and her aunt, Marjorie O'Connell of Worcester; nieces and nephews.
Audrey was born in Holden, the daughter of the late Thomas and Enis (Broman) Smith.
She was a graduate of Commerce High School. She received her Master's in Education from Worcester State College, teaching in the Sutton Public Schools system, for 22 years, retiring in 1994
Audrey was an avid traveler and loved to spend her free time cruising and vacationing with her husband, Aruba being her favorite vacation spot. Audrey loved to bowl, and could always be seen bowling in leagues at the Auburn Ten Pin. Audrey enjoyed singing in the choir at Park Congregational Church in Worcester, and was accomplished pianist and organist.
Audrey was a member of the First Congregational Church in Auburn, and the ladies of Unit 279 at the Tuttle Post, and the Delta Kappa Gamma Society.
Calling hours will he held Thursday from 4-7 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St. Auburn. Her funeral will be held Friday at 11 AM in the First Congregational Church of Auburn, 128 Central St. Burial will take place in the New Swedish cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that charitable donations be sent to the Auburn District Nursing Association, 191 Pakachoag St., Auburn, MA, who cared for Audrey so lovingly in her last years. Special thanks to Cathy Baldarelli, from the visiting nurses, and Lois Mullen and Judi Johnson from St. Vincent's whose care meant the world to Audrey and her family.
Unise A. (Demers) Koury
December 3, 1916 - June 15, 2006
TARPON SPRINGS, FL / WORCESTER, MA - Unise A. (Demers) Koury, 89, formerly of Worcester died Monday, June 12th in the Woodside Hospice, Pinellas Park, Florida.
Her husband, E. Gordon Koury died in 1997. She leaves Donna L. Gendron of Shrewsbury; Louise J. Zizileuskas of Castro Valley, California and William H. Simon of Leicester; two brothers, Joseph F. Horton of Michigan and Norman E. Demers of Florida. She was predeceased by a bother, Leo Demers, and two sisters, Noella Tunstall and Lillian Wiggin.
Unise was born in Berlin, New Hampshire and was the daughter of the late Herbert and Marie L. (Demers) Demers. She had lived in Worcester for many years before moving to Florida in 1998.
Mrs. Koury was the co-owner with her husband, of Near East Rugs on Grafton Street in Worcester for many years before she retired.
Unise was avid bridge player and was a member of the Cavendish Bridge Club. She also was a member of the Women's' Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars for many years. She will be sorely missed by her entire family.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family on Friday morning, June 16th from 9:30- 10:00 AM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. A prayer service for Unise will follow at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in the family lot in Worcester County Memorial Park, Richards Avenue, Paxton, MA.
Alice A. (Mazeika) Kristo
March 31, 1913 - November 6, 2005
Auburn - Alice A. (Mazeika) Kristo, of Pinehurst Avenue, died Sunday, November 6th in the Life Care Center of Auburn.
Her husband of 52 years, Joseph A. Kristo died in 2001.
She leaves her daughter, Dr. Janice V. Kristo of Orono, ME; a sister, Paulyne Tankis of Auburn; several nephews and nieces including Dr. Edward Mazeika of California and Judie Flinchbaugh of Pennsylvania; her devoted neighbor, Sally Niemi, and her longtime aide, Pauline Lebel. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Ralph Mazeika.
She was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Ralph and Valeria (Stancelis) Mazeika and has lived in Auburn for over 50 years. She graduated from Commerce High School, David Hale Fanning School, and the Worcester School of Business Service.
Mrs. Kristo worked as a clerk for the former C.T. Sherer Company and later for the Wright-Goldman Beef Co., both in Worcester.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish, and was active in its former Women's League; a member of the St. Casimir's Chapter Knights of Lithuania, and the Bancroft Chapter of the AARP. She loved to cook, travel, and loved visiting Maine, but most of all she enjoyed the time spent with family and friends.

Sofie (Laputz) Kulak
April 2, 1921 - December 21, 2005
AUBURN, MA - Sofie (Laputz) Kulak, 84, of 136 Rochdale Street, Auburn died Wednesday December 21st after an illness.
Her husband of 49 years, William Kulak died in 1996. She leaves a son, William V. Kulak of Glendale, California, two daughters, Catherine F. Bergman of Auburn and Margaret A. McDermott of Spencer, a sister, Helen Kulak of Auburn, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 2 grand nieces, 1 great grand niece and 2 great grand nephews.
She was born in Norwich, Connecticut, daughter of the late Gregory and Feddosia (Shillo) Laputz and had lived in Auburn for the past 56 years.
Sofie had been employed as a bookkeeper for the Webster Spring Co in Oxford for over 20 years before she retired.
Mrs. Kulak was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church where she was active in it's choir and the Naomi Group. She had many hobbies including, sewing, quilting, gardening and spending time with her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend an hour of visitation from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 24th in the Chapel of the Bethel Lutheran Church, 90 Bryn Mawr Avenue, Auburn. Her funeral service will follow in the church at 10 A.M. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn. Sandra L. (Barker) Lacharite
June 21, 1946 - July 31, 2006
WORCESTER - Sandra L. (Barker) Lacharite, 60, of Worcester, died Monday, July 31st in Tufts New England Medical Center, Boston after an illness.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 22 years, Richard E. Lacharite; a son, Mark J. Lacharite of Chicopee, a daughter, Piper L. Lacharite of Holyoke, and 4 wonderful grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Kimberly A. Leland and a sister, Marsha G. Lewis.
Mrs. Lacharite was born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Granville and Amy (King) Barker. She was raised in Auburn and graduated from Auburn High School.
Sandra was a lifetime member of Hadwen Park Congregational Church in Worcester, where she served on numerous boards and committee's throughout the years. One of the favorite things in her life since early childhood was to vacation and spend time in York, Maine.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Sandra's funeral service on Friday, August 4th at 11 A.M. in Hadwen Park Congregational Church, 6 Clover Street, Worcester. There are no calling hours. Daniel H. LaForte
May 18, 1949 - September 15, 2006
MILLBURY - Daniel H. LaForte, 57, of Millbury, died Friday, September 15th in Worcester after a long illness.
He leaves his mother, Lorraine M. (Belmore) LaForte of Millbury; three brothers, Wilfred LaForte, Jr., of Marlboro; Brian LaForte and Randall LaForte both of Millbury; two sisters, Sherry Martensson of Castleton, New York and Joanne Salo of Millbury; also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Wilfred H. LaForte, Sr.
He graduated from Millbury High School in 1967, and later Springfield College in 1971 with a Bachelors of Science Degree.
Funeral services for Daniel will be private.
Wilfred O. Laliberte
July 26, 1917 - April 29, 2007
AUBURN, MA - Wilfred O. Laliberte, 89, of Waterman Rd, died Sunday April 29th in his home.
His wife of 50 years, Yvette C. (Houle) Laliberte died in 1993.
He leaves his daughter, Teresa A. Laliberte of Hinsdale, NH; his three sons, Francis Laliberte of Auburn, Gerald F. Laliberte and his wife Oui of Fayetteville, NC, and Paul M. Laliberte of Worcester; 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, including his special granddaughter Danielle, and great granddaughter Rachael. He was predeceased by his son Richard E. Laliberte in 1973, and by his brother Francis Laliberte.
He was born in Worcester, son of the late Ovela and Blanche (Brunelle) Laliberte and has lived in Auburn since 1956. He graduated from Saint John's High School, Worcester.
He was a proud veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. Mr. Laliberte worked as a traffic controller for Euro-American Air Freight for 17 years before retiring in 1987. He previously worked for the former US Steel Co., Worcester. He was a member of Saint Joseph's Parish in Auburn enjoyed golfing and was an avid Red Sox fan.

Wayde R. LaMier
February 25, 1959 - March 18, 2007
WORCESTER - Wayde R. LaMier, 48, of Dana Avenue, Worcester, formerly of Shrewsbury, passed away Sunday, March 18th in his home after an illness.
He leaves four daughters, Melissa S. LaMier of Millbury, Kristen L. LaMier, Alicia A. LaMier, and Taryn J. LaMier all of Hubbardston; his mother, June J. (Walls) LaMier of Northborough; a brother, Kevin and his wife, Teresa LaMier of Canastota, NY; five sisters, Darlene Cataloni and her husband, Ernest of Foxboro, Cynthia Dupass of Hingham, Robyn Liburdi and her husband, Joseph of Princeton, Wendy LaMier and her husband, Steven Boyle of Shrewsbury; Tabatha Mello and her husband, Jonathan of Providence, R.I.; and his long time companion, An Chen. Wayde was an uncle and grand uncle to many and is also survived by several cousins, and aunts including, Maureen Furtado. He was predeceased by his father, Ralph C. LaMier and a brother-in-law, James Dupass.
Wayde was born in Springfield, MA and had lived in Shrewsbury for 22 years before moving to Worcester 8 years ago. He graduated from Dorchester High School and later in his life had completed several computer science courses.
Mr. LaMier had been employed as an Information Systems Support Technician for over 20 years for the EMC Corporation in Westborough before he became ill.
Wayde was a devoted father, son and brother and loved spending time with his four daughters and his entire family. He also enjoyed playing guitar, photography, bowling and was an avid Patriots and Red Sox Fan.

Richard M. Landry
September 20, 1948 - April 26, 2006
Richard M. Landry, 57, of Grove Street, Worcester, passed on Wednesday, April 26th at UMass Medical Center. He leaves his loving parents Milton R. and Barbara A. (Gregory) Landry of Shrewsbury. He also leaves eight brothers: Charles of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Joseph of Shrewsbury, Paul and his wife Ellen, of Worcester, Peter of Worcester, David and his wife, Nancy of Charlton, Milton Jr., and his wife, Shirley of San Francisco, California, Stephen and his wife, Michele of North Grafton, Christopher and his wife, Denise of Auburn. He leaves five sisters: Lynn Couture and her husband Paul, of Shrewsbury, Susan Burns and her husband, Walter of Worcester, Barbara Shea of Shrewsbury, Mary
Landry and her partner, Sharon McCann of Worcester, Carolyn Leonard and her husband, Martin of Holden. He leaves many nieces and nephews as well.
Richard graduated from St. John's High School in 1966. He attended Wentworth Institute in Boston, MA and then enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1967. Richard received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Coast Guard after serving his country in the Mekong delta area of Vietnam aboard the U.S.C.G.C. Bibb.
He worked for many years in the family construction business, Daleo Contracting, Inc. in
Worcester, MA. Most recently, he was employed at UMass Medical Center.
As the oldest of fourteen children, Richard had the privilege of the front seat in the car more often than not. He was always proud to be one of many. He was a loving son, whose gentle and compassionate nature enriched all those around him. Richard was a hard worker known for the meticulous quality of his work. He didn't like to lend tools, but he lent "hands" too numerous to mention. The shirt came off his back many times, freely and gladly. He thoroughly enjoyed family gatherings, nature, and a good day of deep-sea fishing. He will be greatly missed by so many.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday May 1st, at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Mary's Church 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury.
