WILLIAM T. HARNEY
March 25, 1915 - April 14, 2006
Millbury - William T. Harney, 91, of Auburn, a former Engineer, died Good Friday, in Millbury Healthcare Center after an illness.
His Wife Marion (Dandro) Harney died in 2002
He is survived by a daughter Kathleen Harney, of Harrison, ME; two sisters, Teresa Harney, of Paxton, and Eleanora Russell, of Worcester.
He was preceded in death by his 2 brothers; Gregory and Gerard Harney, and by his sisters; Margaret Moors, and Mary Harney.
He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Thomas F. and Mildred M. (Fransisca) Harney. He was educated in Worcester Schools and is a graduate of Saint John's High School, and Saint Mary's College, PA
Mr. Harney was an Engineer Executive for Saint Vincent's Hospital for over 20 years; he was instrumental in its original design and construction. He had previously worked as a power plant engineer for Worcester State Hospital.
Dubrelle M. Harrington
November 2, 1914 - December 2, 2005
NORTH OXFORD - Dubrelle M. "Dick" Harrington, 91 of Ennis Road and formerly of Auburn, died Friday, December 2nd in the Life Care Center of Auburn.
He leaves his wife of 65 years, Charlotte T. (Ayrton) Harrington; his daughter, Sandra M. Jewell of North Oxford; his three sons, Richard G. Harrington of Tucson, AZ, Lyle D. "Joe" Harrington of West Boylston, and James M. Harrington of Omaha, NE; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was born in Staffordville, CT, son of the late Edwin M. and Carolyn (Wilson) Harrington and lived in Auburn for more than 70 years before moving to North Oxford in 1992.
Mr. Harrington retired in 1981 from the Auburn Post Office, where he was a letter carrier for 21 years. Before that, he worked for the Worcester Street Railway Co. for 18 years.
He was member of the First Congregational Church of Auburn and the Joel H. Prouty Lodge of Masons.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 7th at 11 AM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. Following cremation, burial in Hillside cemetery will be private. There are no calling hours.
Arthur M. Harris
April 16, 1923 - May 23, 2006
ORANGE - - Arthur C. Watt, II, 51, of Orange, died Sunday in his home after an illness.
He is survived by his parents; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur C. and Viola (Gregarczyk) Watt, his children; Amy Watt, of Leicester, Arthur C. Watt, III, of Warren, his three grandchildren; Tyler, Calib, and Dylan, and he became excited about his newest grandchild, Kenzie who will arrive in November. Other members of his family include his sister; Donna M. Finizza and her husband Michael A. Finizza Jr. of Oxford, his brother, James A. Watt, and his wife Anne F. Watt, of Kansas City, MO.
He was born in Auburn and attended Auburn schools.
Mr. Watt was a Carpenter and avid woodworker; he worked for several area companies for many years.
He loved animals and the outdoors, especially fishing. He also loved to spend time with his grandchildren.

Warren W. Hayden
May 17, 1936 - October 16, 2006
SHREWSBURY - Warren W. Hayden, 70, of 2 Tanglewood Drive, died Monday, October 16 at home after a long battle with cancer and Alzheimer's disease.
He leaves his wife of 51 years, Beverly A (Lundquist) Hayden and his 6 children; Deborah M. Hatheway and her husband Darwin of Woodbury, MN, William S. Hayden and his wife Donna of Boylston, Karen A. Kirwan of Worcester, Warren D. Hayden and his wife Beth of Shrewsbury, Judith E. Forest and her husband Bradley of Rutland, and Matthew A Hayden and his wife Brenda of Worcester. He leaves 18 grandchildren; Alexander, Elizabeth, Katherine and Robert Hatheway, Robert and Nicholas Hayden, David, Christopher and James Kirwan, Warren, Aaron and Jacob Hayden, Kristen McAuliffe, Matthew and Julia Forest, and Connor, Thomas, and Emily Hayden. He also leaves many cousins.
He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Warren D. Hayden and Anna L. (Kennedy) Hayden.
Warren graduated from St. John's High School and Worcester State College.
He was a software engineer retiring from GTE, Needham, Ma. he also worked at Boston College, The College of the Holy Cross, M.I.T., and the Berlin Public School System.
Warren loved nature and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed long walks, hiking the mountains of New England, photography and was a member of the Southborough Rod and Gun Club.
He was a member of Saint Mary of the Hills Catholic Church, in Boylston.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 5-8 PM Friday, October 20, 2006 in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street.
His funeral will be held Saturday October 21, 2006 from the funeral home with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Mary of the Hills Church, 630 Cross Street, Boylston. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.

Blanche M. Hedin
May 21, 1907 - December 14, 2005
Auburn - Blanche M. (Bouley) Hedin, 98 of 4 Pine Valley Drive, formerly of 16 Albert Street, Auburn, died peacefully with her family by her side December 14th 2005. She lived in Auburn for 93 years moving from Worcester when she was 5 years old. She was born on May 21, 1907 the daughter of Albert J. and Sadie (Lemire) Bouley. Her father had a small farm at their Albert Street address. He also was the owner of the former Barker Chambers, a hotel on Front Street in Worcester. Her father died in 1945 and her mother in 1960. Her husband, Harold C. Hedin, died in 1959. Her brother, Clarence Bouley, died in 1982 and her younger brother, Ernest Bouley died in 1985. She was also predeceased by her nephew, Bruce Bouley in 2001.
Blanche is survived by her son, Richard E. Hedin of Auburn, her niece Gloria Castriotta and her husband Raymond of Barre, Also nine very close and dear grand nieces and grand nephews: Matthew Castriotta of Hubbardston; Mark Castriotta of Bane; Marianne Sinopoli of Brewster; Maureen Buonpane of Mansfield; Marilyn Castriotta of Cambrige, Michael and Martin Castriotta of New Hampshire, and Bradford and Karen Bouley, of Colorado. Other members of her family include: a sister-in-law, Rosemary Bouley, and her daughter-in-law, Alice Bouley, of Colorado, as well as 13 great- grand nieces and nephews.
Blanche M. Hedin attended the Auburn Public Schools graduating from their Grammar School System in 1924. She worked as loving mother, and homemaker, devoting her life to taking care of her family. She worked at the former Warren Leather Goods Co., in Worcester and was a waitress for 21 years at Howard Johnson in Auburn and later in Charlton, retiring in 1972. Blanche enjoyed her family and friends and loved to garden, do arts and crafts and to travel.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Auburn for 93 years and a member of the former Women's League and taught Christian Doctrine in her early years at the Church of St Joseph's.

Calling hours at Britton-Wallace Funeral Home are from 4 to 7 on December 16th and from 9:30-10:30 AM Saturday, December 17th. Her funeral will be held Saturday from the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Joseph's Church, 194 Oxford Street, Auburn. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
Richard T. Henderson
November 2, 1935 - January 9, 2006
Shrewsbury - Richard T. Henderson, 70, of 112 Howe Avenue, died Monday, January 9 in UMASS Memorial Healthcare, University Campus, Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carolyn M. (Alex) Henderson; three children, Richard E. and Robert S. Henderson and Donna M. Arcouette all of Shrewsbury; a brother William Henderson of Boylston; 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. "We love you forever"
Richard was born in Worcester the son of William T. and Ellen C. (Kinder) Henderson and lived all of his life in Shrewsbury. He graduated from North High School in Worcester, Worcester Industrial Technical Institute and Wentworth Institute in Boston. He served 14 years in the Army and earned the rank of Major. Richard worked for the Worcester Housing authority and retired from Norton Company. He then operated his own contracting company, Checkmate Builders. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Matthew John Whittall Lodge of Masons in Shrewsbury, Order of Eastern Star and Trinity Lutheran Church in Worcester.
At the family's request funeral services for Richard are private. There are no calling hours.

Richard E. "Jibber" Hibbard
January 27, 1943 - November 15, 2006
WORCESTER - Richard E. "Jibber" Hibbard, 63, of Worcester, died suddenly at home on Wednesday, November 15th.
He leaves his best friend and wife of 28 years, Jean P. (Dickinson) Hibbard; two sisters, Joan A. Trottier and her husband, Milton of Grafton and Carol A. Lamusta and her husband, Richard of Lynnfield, MA; also survived by several nieces and one nephew. He was predeceased by a brother, Edwin N. Hibbard, Jr.
He was born in Worcester, son of the late Edwin N. Hibbard, Sr. and J. Rita (Turcotte) Hibbard and was a life long resident here. Richard graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. He later served his country with the Massachusetts Army National Guard for several years.
Mr. Hibbard had worked a Construction Supervisor for R.W. Granger Construction in Shrewsbury before he retired. He previously had been employed for 20 years at J.E. Murray Construction in Auburn.
He was a member of Local # 170 UBOC in Worcester. Richard had several other passions in his life such as taking care of his home and yard with great pride and he loved to watch drag racing when ever he could.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Richard's family on Sunday, November 19th from 2-4 P.M. in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. His funeral service will be on Monday, November 20th at 11:30 A.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Elsie Elizabeth (McLean) Hines
April 9, 1909 - January 14, 2006
CHATHAM - Elsie E. (McLean) Hines, 96, a resident of Liberty Commons and formerly of Auburn, died Friday, January 13th.
Her husband, Leo Hines and her daughter, Evelyn Marcustre predeceased her.
She is survived by her brother, Roy McLean of East Harwich, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was born in New York, daughter of the late Sidney M. and Margaret E. (Needham) McLean and lived in Auburn for many years.
Mrs. Hines worked as a Stanley Home Products saleswoman for many years. She then spent years as a housemother for the former Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was a longtime member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church and was an avid reader.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, January 19th at 11 AM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn. The family will receive family and friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10-11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 35 School St, Auburn, MA 01501.

Edward Samuel Holland
September 15, 1930 - June 16, 2007
SHREWSBURY - Edward Samuel Holland, 76, of Shrewsbury, died on 16 June, at St. Vincent's Hospital, Worcester, MA. He was born in Cambridge MA 15 September 1930, the middle of three sons of John Blake and Imelda Margaret (McHugh) Holland. Raised in Watertown, MA he graduated from St. Patrick's Catholic High School in 1948. Majoring in Civil Engineering, he graduated from Northeastern University in 1953 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Ed then worked for Boston engineering firms Whitman and Howard, Coffin and Richardson, and Metcalf and Eddy honing his civil engineering skills. During this span of ten years, he became a Registered Professional Engineer and a Registered Land Surveyor.
In December 1963, he became the Town Engineer for Shrewsbury, MA where he had the opportunity for over 34 years to help develop this remarkable community. Ed proudly teamed with other dedicated public servants such as his best friend Richard Carney (Town Manager), Al Cerrone (Highway Superintendent) and other equally hardworking town employees and elected officials. Together, they made significant enduring enhancements to the community. Professionally, he was a member of the Massachusetts Municipal Engineers Association, serving a period as President. He was a member of the American Public Works Association since 1964. Additionally, he served on the Westborough/Shrewsbury Sewage Treatment Plant Board from 1980 until late last year. Within the community, he firmly believed in positive involvement, as he participated in the Shrewsbury Rotary Club (a past president), served as an elected Town Meeting member in Precinct 2 for decades, ably helped out as a Boy Scout Troop Assistant Scout Master, coached Little League baseball, and even headed up the Shrewsbury High School Music Association as President. A long-time member of the Shrewsbury Credit Union, he served as President of the Board of Directors in the past and remained a board member. He remained faithful to his Roman Catholic upbringing and was a member of St. Anne's of Shrewsbury parish. He mentored newly minted engineering students, helping them gain accreditation and even taught some engineering courses for then Lowell Tech.
He leaves his loving wife of 54 years, Joan Marie (Carlisle) Holland. Ed is also survived by three children, CAPT Robert D. Holland, USN (Ret) husband of Ann Marie Sanders of Shrewsbury, Mary J. Holland of Naperville, IL, and Roberta J. Mercadante, wife of Rocky Mercadante of Pendleton, SC. He also leaves three granddaughters, LTJG Elizabeth A. Holland, USN, stationed in Charleston SC for Nuclear Power School, ENS Julianne J. Holland, stationed on USS SHILOH CG 67 in Yokosuka JA, and Carolyn M. Holland of Shrewsbury and two step grandsons, Adam E. Mercadante of McHenry, IL and Michael P. Mercadante of Gardner, MA. He leaves two siblings, Robert B. Holland of West Chatham, MA and David J. Holland of Southborough MA also.
Honoring his wishes, there will be no funeral or wake. Instead, there will be a Memorial Mass held 10:00 AM Friday 22 June at St Anne's Parish, 103 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury MA, followed by a reception at the Frohsinn Club on 25 North Quinsigamond Ave in Shrewsbury. Renee Y. (Lutjohann) Hunt
December 7, 1917 - December 19, 2006
SHREWSBURY - Renee Y. (Lutjohann) Hunt, 89, of 30 Fruit Street, Shrewsbury and formerly of Waldwick, New Jersey, died Tuesday, December 19th in the Beaumont Nursing Home in Northborough.
She leaves two sons, Patrick A. Hunt and his spouse, Robert Hunt with whom she lived, Brian L. Hunt of Akron, Ohio; two grandchildren, Michael Hunt and Tracey Guerin, and 5 great grandchildren. Her husband of 59 years, Jay R. Hunt and a son, Robin Hunt predeceased her.
Mrs. Hunt was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, daughter of the late Enrique and Carola (Topolanski) Lutjohann. She was an accomplished and well known artist and in her 50's learned the art of furniture making. A skilled seamstress, she made all of her own clothes.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, December 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury, MA. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 23rd at 2:00 PM in All Saints Episcopal Church, 10 Irving Street, Worcester. Burial will take place at a later date in January in Christ Church Burial Garth, Ridgewood, New Jersey.
Dr. Alfred P. Iacobucci
NOVEMBER 18, 1934 - APRIL 30, 2007
Dr. Alfred P. Iacobucci, 72, of Shrewsbury, died April 30th at home after a long illness. He leaves his wife, Madeline (Baczek) Iacobucci, two sons, David J. Iacobucci and his wife Linda of Wayside, NJ; Michael J. Iacobucci and his wife Mary Ellen of Lexington, MA; and a daughter Maria and her husband Richard Markus of Falls Church, VA, along with five beloved grandchildren, Matthew and Nicholas Iacobucci, Christopher and Julianna Markus, Anna Maria Iacobucci and a sixth grandchild expected in July.
Dr. Iacobucci is the son of the late Giovanni and Rose (DiNicola) Iacobucci of Clinton. He leaves three brothers, Albert Iacobucci and his wife Rita of Clinton, Adam Iacobucci and his wife Rose of Hudson, and John Iacobucci and his wife Maryann of Dunnwoody, GA, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Dr. Iacobucci joined the staff of the Fallon Clinic in Worcester in 1969, as an Internist and Endocrinologist where he held several posts including Chief of Medicine from 1971 to 1979, and Director of the Endocrinology Division from 1985 until his retirement. He served on the Clinic's Board of Directors, and was a founding director of the Westboro Branch of the Fallon Clinic. Dr. Iacobucci was a member of the American Group Practice Association's Board of Directors and he served as the organization's Secretary/Treasurer from 1982 to 1985. He was a physician at Saint Vincent Hospital for over 25 years, where he served as Acting Director of the Endocrinology Division, and coordinator of endocrine training. Dr. Iacobucci had a great love of teaching, and was part of the Core Faculty and the Residency Program at St. Vincent's. He continued his teaching into his retirement. He was also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester.
Dr. Iacobucci graduated from Clinton High School, received a B.S. and a Masters degree in pharmacology from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, and was a PhD candidate in a joint program between the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Harvard Medical School. From 1966 to 1968 he served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Reserve, as Acting Chief of Medicine at the Naval Hospital in Corpus Christi, TX. Dr. Iacobucci received his Doctor of Medicine from Tufts University School of Medicine, and served his Internship and Residency at St. Vincent Hospital. He completed a fellowship in Endocrinology at the Mayo Clinic and Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Iacobucci received Board Certification in Internal Medicine, and in Endocrinology & Metabolism.
Dr. Iacobucci was a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Internal Medicine, American College of Clinical Endocrinology, and American College of Clinical Pharmacologists, as well as the American Diabetes Assoc., the Thyroid Foundation of America, American Academy of Medical Directors, The Endocrine Society, Massachusetts Medical Society, and The Worcester District Medical Society.
Calling hours are from 3pm to 6pm, Sunday, May 6th at Britton Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury, MA. A Funeral Mass in celebration of his life will be held on Monday, May 7th, at 10:00am at St. Mary's Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury, MA. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Basilica Garden of Peace, Webster, MA.
