William B. Finnerty
December 24, 1933 - February 6, 2006
SHREWSBURY - William B. Finnerty, 72, of 35 Ferncroft Road, died Monday, February 6th in the UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester, following a brief valiant struggle with cancer.
He leaves his wife of 40 years, Joan F. (Stasko) Finnerty; his three children, Kristin A., wife of James Martin of Newburyport, Michael M., and his wife Jennifer Finnerty of Shrewsbury and Sonya L., wife of Kenneth Arsenault of Beverly; his brother, Francis Finnerty of Cadillac, MI; his four grandchildren, Emily, Mason, Tyler and Anna; as well as many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brother Alfred Finnerty.
Born in Geneva, New York, Bill graduated from DeSalles High School and Niagara University. He has lived here for 34 years.
A longtime insurance industry executive, Mr. Finnerty spent more than 20 years with the Hanover Insurance Co., Worcester.
He was a member of St. Mary's Parish in Shrewsbury, where he served as a lector for many years. He was also a member of the Sodality of Our Lady at Holy Cross College, Worcester. He loved to golf, enjoyed good food and loved to cook. Along with his wife, Bill loved to travel and vacation. He also coached Little League for many years. Fun loving and gregarious, Bill had a great sense of humor and a special love for family and his many friends. He always enjoyed the time he spent with them all.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, February 9th from 5-8 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 10th at 10 AM in St. Mary's Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
Members of the Soldality of Our Lady will gather at the funeral home at 5:30 PM for a prayer service.

STEPHEN H. FISHER
September 27, 1949 - October 6, 2006
West Boylston - Stephen H. Fisher, 59, of Lancaster St, died Saturday, October 7th in the UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester, after an illness.
He was born in Worcester, a son of the Rita B. (McMahon) Fisher McCullough of Auburn and the late Howard S. Fisher.
Besides his mother, he leaves his wife of 14 years, Sharon (Naughton) Fisher; his two children, Rita Busha of Auburn and Stephen Fisher of Kissimmee, FL; his two step-children, Laurie Stevenson of Medfield, and Jeffrey Stevenson of Boston; his two brothers, William and Clifford Fisher, both of Oxford; his sister, Bernice Gilbert of Storrs, CT; two grandchildren, Jessica and Roger Busha, Jr., and his step-granddaughter, Nicole Kniffen. He was predeceased by his brother, Howard Fisher, Jr., and his sister, Carol A LaRoche.
He was raised in Auburn, and graduated from Auburn High School.. He later served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Fisher worked for many years as a mechanic for the Wonder Bread and Hostess Cake Co., West Boylston, retiring in 2002 due to illness.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, Oct. 10th from 5-8 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. A funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM in the funeral home, followed by burial in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
Charles J. Flagg, Jr.
July 24, 1936 - January 25, 2006
Rochdale - Charles J. Flagg, Jr., 69 of 3 Flagg Drive, died Wednesday, January 25th in his home, after a year long struggle with pancreatic cancer.
He leaves his wife of 49 years, Barbara F. (Robinson) Flagg; three daughters, Catherine Borowski and her husband David of Florida, Mary Hyland and her husband Robert, and Cynthia Garabedian and her husband Richard, both of Leicester; his son, Robert Flagg and his wife Sue of Arizona; 10 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his son, James P. Flagg in 1982, and his sister Elizabeth Harvey.
He was born in Rochdale, son of the late Charles J. and Mary V. (Bergin) Flagg and lived here most of his life. He graduated from St. Peter's High School, Worcester and attended Quinsigamond College. He served in the Army Reserves for 6 years.
Charlie was the founder of EIC Corporation. He previously worked for Local 6 Asbestos Workers.
A wonderful musician, Charlie was a member of the Banjo Hobos, the Ragtime Rowdies, the Worcester County Band, the Alethea Grotto Band and the Jolly Kopperschmidts. He was also an avid pilot and owned his own plane flying out of the Oxford and Southbridge airports. He loved to water and snow skiing and skating. He loved to travel and enjoyed playing golf. He was a member of St. Aloysius Parish, Rochdale, where he served on the parish council and he also served as a commissioner of the Rochdale Water District.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday from 2-5 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. His funeral will be celebrated on Monday with a funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford Street North, Auburn. Burial will follow in St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. RONALD D. FLINT
February 7, 1940 - March 31, 2007
AUBURN, MA - Ronald D. Flint, 67, of 97 Bryn Mawr Ave, died Saturday in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence, after an illness.
His Wife Sandra L. (Herzig) died in 2003
He is survived by his son Ronald Lindridge, and his wife Lori, of Woodridge, NY, and his two brothers; Bradley Flint, and his wife Judith, of Shrewsbury, and Wayne Flint, and his wife Maria, of Oldsmar, FL, a sister; Sandra Haight, and her husband, Robert, of Kimberlin City, MO, three nephews and a niece. He leaves his Fiance, Ellen Gaboury, of Auburn.
Other members of his family include; a step-son, Shawn Lund, of E. Hampton, and a step daughter, Michelle Willard, of Spencer, and four step grandchildren.
He was born in Framingham, the son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth (Marshall) Flint. He was raised and educated in Westborough.
He served in the United States Navy, on the flight decks of aircraft carriers; USS Randolph, USS Independence, and USS F. D. Roosevelt.
Ronald worked for the Mass Turnpike Authority for many years in the maintenance department. Previously he worked for General Automotive and Kraska Auto Parts.
He enjoyed antiquing and going to yard sales and flea markets. He also liked to travel, and recently took up dancing.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 10-11 AM Tuesday in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. His funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the funeral home following visiting hours. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park.

Worcester - Ryan Patrick Foley, Jr., infant son of Ryan P. and Stephanie A. (Selzo) Foley died Wed., October 24 th, the day he was born. Besides his parents, he leaves his sisters, Mariah S. and Mia J., and brothers, Ethan P. and Nathan J.; his maternal grandmother, Susan Gauquier and her husband Gary of Worcester; his maternal grandfather Ronald Selzo and his wife Michele of West Warren; his paternal grandmother Susan Robidoux of Northbridge; his paternal grandfather, James Foley of Worcester; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Burial: Mon. October 30, 2006, 1:00 P.M. at Hope Cemetery
Mary (Kelly) Forand
April 5, 1915 - April 6, 2006
WORCESTER - Mary (Kelly) Forand died peacefully on Thursday, April 6th at the St. Francis Home in Worcester, where she had been a resident for the past four years. Formerly of Shrewsbury, Mary lived on Lake Quinsigamond with her husband Leo Forand for 42 years until his death in 1997.
Mary was born in Webster, MA on April 5, 1915, daughter of the late Bartholomew and Catherine (Gallagher) Kelly. She graduated from St. Louis High School and attended St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing. Devoted to her patients, Mary worked in geriatric nursing for many years. Throughout her life, Mary was an avid reader with a charming wit. She was beloved by her family and friends, and will be forever missed by them.
Mary was also predeceased by her first husband, Francis S. Prout, with whom she had four children. Her two sons, David and Alan Prout died in 2001 and 2004, respectively. A brother, John Kelly of Hyannisport also predeceased her. She is survived by her older brother, Francis Kelly, of Dudley; two daughters, Jane Johnson of Holden and Susan Webb of Brewster; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a great great grandson born recently in Michigan.
Private family visitation and prayer services will be held on Saturday, April 8th. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
Henry J. Ford
July 2, 1921 - November 25, 2006
SHREWSBURY - Henry J. Ford, 85, of Shrewsbury passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, November 24th.
He was the loving husband of the late Rosemary E. (McHugh) Ford; devoted father of Brian E. Ford and his wife, Elaine of Medford and the late Kevin J. Ford; grandfather of Elise, Elizabeth and Patrick all of Shrewsbury; step grandfather of Alexander Mullis of Medford; dear friend to Nancy and Wayne Lucier of West Boylston; Attorney John Mattson; Linda Quackenbush, Leo and Irene DiPadea, and Mary and Pat Chandley.
Mr. Ford was born in New Haven, Connecticut son of the late Daniel and Catherine (Rowley) Ford. He graduated from Hill House High School in New Haven and soon after enlisted in the Army Air Corp. During W.W. II he served in the Pacific as a 1st Sergeant. After his service to his country, Mr. Ford graduated from Quinipiac College.
Henry joined the Department of the U.S. Post Office and later the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. He retired in 1978 as the 2nd senior ranking inspector in the nation. After retiring from the Postal Inspection Services he did private investigations and later worked as a manager for H&R; Block in Westborough for 22 years.
Mr. Ford was a member of Saint Mary's Parish and the Shrewsbury Men's Club at the Senior Center. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council # 1 in Connecticut, the D.A.V. and the V.F.W.

George A. Forzley
November 8, 1922 - February 2, 2007
WORCESTER - George A. Forzley, 84, of Dutton Street, formerly of Virginia, a longtime U. S. Postal Service industrial engineer, died Friday February 2 2007 in the UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 119 Belmont Street, after an illness.
He leaves his wife Barbara I. (Price) Forzley, of Worcester, and a sister Laurice Arbeeny, of Staten Island, NY, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother Dr. Edward Forzley.
He was born in Canada, the son of the late Fred and Rose (Forzley) Forzley; he received his Associates Degree from Worcester Junior College, and later his BSIE Degree from Northeastern University, and his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Rochester.
Mr. Forzley served in the U.S. Army, during WWII, with the 3rd Army Field Artillery Observation Battalion; he fought in the Battle of the Bulge, and Rhine and in Germany.
He worked for many years as an industrial engineer for the U.S. Postal Service in Washington, D.C. for many years, where after his retirement he served on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Postal Workers Credit Union.
He was a member of the Morning Star Lodge of Masons in Worcester, and the Aleppo Shriners in Boston.
He was an avid sports fan and Washington Redskins Fan. He coached and umpired little league baseball for many years. He loved to wok in his garden, and he was a long time volunteer at Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church VA
George embodied the words honor, integrity and family values, he was a tireless advocate of the value of education and self-betterment; he was an inspiration to all who knew him.

JAMES J. "JIM" FOSTER, SR.,
July 13, 1954 - July 16, 2007
SHREWSBURY - James J. "Jim" Foster, Sr., 53, of Shrewsbury, well known local horticulturist, died Monday, July 16th in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Jim is survived by his wife of 34 years, Alice A. (Trudell) Foster; a son, James J. Foster, Jr., of Shrewsbury; a daughter, Christine A. Zawada and her husband, Ted of Shrewsbury; his mother, Lorraine (Mellor) Foster of Worcester; two brothers, Michael Foster of Arizona and Charles Foster of Georgia; two sisters, Diane Rose of California and Darlene Foster of Townsend; one granddaughter, Victoria; also surived by several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was born in Worcester, son of the late Charles Foster and had lived in Shrewsbury for the past 16 years. He graduated from Burncoat High School in Worcester were he was enrolled in the horticultural program.
For the past 27 years Jim has been a self-employed award winning landscape designer. His family's home gardens was featured on the Victory Garden Show on PBS and also featured in Better Homes Magazine in the spring of 2007. Jim was nominated and received many distinguished awards from the New England Flower Shows where he also served as a judge for several years. He was a member of the Horticultural Club of Boston; the Massachusetts Horticultural Society; and Tower Hill Botanical Gardens.
He was a member of Saint Mary's Parish in Shrewsbury and when he had spare time he would enjoy playing golf and woodworking.

Jeanne Frechette
November 5, 1931 - July 2, 2006
Shrewsbury - Jeanne Frechette, a retired Worcester East Middle School teacher who was also a skilled seamstress, making the costumes for St. John's annual performing arts program for almost 20 years, died after a brief but fierce battle with cancer. She was 74.
Ms. Frechette died Sunday, July 2nd at a Hospice Care facility in Reading, MA surrounded by family.
Known for her vitality, positive spirit and genuine love of life Jeanne had many friends and loved ones who were always so happy to spend time with her.
Jeanne's interests were many and she volunteered her time regularly for many years at St. Ann's Free Medical Clinic in Shrewsbury, and taught knitting and crocheting at St. Mary's Prayer Shawls Knitting Ministry, also in Shrewsbury. Jeanne loved crafting, especially anything sewn, knitted, embroidered, and crocheted.
"Jeanne was an incredibly talented individual, who enjoyed sharing her talents with everyone who knew her. Until the very end of her life, she was so full of life and so giving of her talents and time. She was a dear friend for so long it will be hard to fill that void. She will never be forgotten." said Paul Jourcin, a teacher at St. John's High and Jeanne's dear friend for more than 30 years.
In addition to her teaching career, Jeanne had a second career in her retirement years at Central One Credit Union in Shrewsbury, where she had many dear friends who will miss her. Jeanne enjoyed going to Foxwoods and playing the Massachusetts state lottery. She was very generous when she hit her luck at both, taking groups of friends to dinner and treating office-mates to coffee and treats.
Jeanne was also a generous donor to many charitable organizations.
Jeanne was the beloved sister of: Sr. Felix-Marie, Presentation of Mary in Hudson, NH; Paul Frechette of Seminole, FL; NH; Robert Frechette, of Melbourne, FL; Noella Pay of Rochester, NH; Sr. Rose Philippine, Sisters of St. Benedict's Center of Harvard, MA; Marcelle Lebrun, of Sanford, ME; Raymond Frechette, of Willits, CA; Elizabeth Sullivan, of Reading, MA; Gerard Frechette, of St. Louis, MO; Bernadette Duval, of Lowell, MA; John Frechette, of Berlin, NH; and Michael Frechette of Alfred, ME. She was predeceased by her siblings Lawrence Frechette, of Whitefield, NH; Henry Frechette, of Kittery, ME; Irene Frechette, of East Boston, MA. She is also survived by 30 nieces and nephews, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
