ALGERDI F. "AL" BUIVIDAS
May 6, 1918 - December 7, 2005
Bedford, NH - Algerdi F. "Al" Buividas, 87, a resident of The Arbors and formerly of Laurel St., Auburn, died Wednesday, Dec. 7th at home.
He leaves his beloved wife of 61 years, Mary T. (Houlihan) Buividas; a son, Anthony J. Buividas of Philadelphia; three daughters, Annn T. Gensler of Fayetteville, NY, Maureen F. White of Atkinson, NH, and Judith Ann Asci of Hooksett, NH; a sister, Jean Tyck of Worcester; five grandchildren, several nieces and several cousins.
He was born in Worcester, son of the late Anthony and Rose (Balchunis) Buividas. He graduated from Saint Peter's High School, Worcester. He had lived in Auburn for many years, prior to moving to New Hampshire3 years ago.
Prior to his retirement in 1983, Mr. Buividas worked as a sheet metal worker, and later the foreman at the William F. Lynch Company, Worcester, for 25 years. Previously, he worked for The Callahan Company, Worcester.
He was a member of Saint Joseph's Parish in Auburn, and its Saint Vincent de Paul Society; the Auburn Lodge of Elks, the Auburn Council, Knights of Columbus, the John Cardinal Wright Assembly, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Greendale Retired Men's Club, the Auburn Senior Center and its bowling league, and served as a town meeting member for many years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, December 10th from 9-10:30 AM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford St., Auburn. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.

Frances J. (Jeffery) Bullen
August 19, 2006
Wellesley, MA - Frances E. (Jeffery) Bullen, 88, formerly of Wellesley, died August 19th in Hudson, Florida.
Her husband, Lester J. Bullen died in 1991.
She leaves her four sons, George Bullen of Franklin, MA, David Bullen of Southborough, MA, Russell Bullen of Hernando, FL, and Kenneth Bullen of Oxford, and a daughter, Jane A. White of Holliston, MA. She also is survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Westborough, MA. Memorial donations may be made to the Adam Bullen Memorial Foundation, 24 Charlton St., Oxford, MA 01540.
STANLEY J. BURDZEL
April 21, 1936 - May 9, 2007
WORCESTER - Stanley J. "Starsh" Burdzel, 71, of Worcester died Wednesday in his home, surrounded by his loving family, after an illness.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years, Barbara V. (Grazulis) Burdzel, of Worcester, his children, Cheryl, of Worcester, Joseph, of Lehigh Acres, FL, Todd, and his wife Sally, Carl, and Robin, all of Worcester, and Michael and his wife Jane of Leicester, he also leaves 13 adoring grandchildren and 2 adoring great grandchildren. Other members of his family include; a sister Sally A. Breault of Spencer, and several nieces and nephews.
A son Craig and a brother William H. Burdzel predeceased him.
He was born in Sutton, the son of the late Joseph F. and Sophie L. (Cienava) Burdzel; he was educated in Leicester schools.
A proud veteran, Mr. Burdzel served his country as a member of the U.S. Air force.
He worked for many years as a truck driver, he was a member of the local 170 Teamsters Union. He worked for Millbrook Distributors in Leicester for many years, after his retirement he worked part time for BASF in Worcester.
He was a member of the Leicester Knights of Columbus, where he was a 4th Degree Knight.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Visiting hours on Friday from 5-8 PM, in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. His funeral will be held on Saturday from the funeral home, with a Mass at 10:00 Am in Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park.

J. Thomas "Tom" Burns
March 20, 1927 - January 8, 2006
AUBURN, MA - J. Thomas "Tom" Burns, 78, of 13 Perry Street, Auburn, died Sunday, January 8th in Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester after a long illness.
He leaves his wife of 56 years, Lavina A. (Lee) Burns; two sons, Stephen J. Burns of Webster and Douglas P. Burns of Auburn; two sisters, Arlene Ezzo of Whitinsville and Frances Lennox of Rhode Island; 4 grandchildren, Tammy M. Burns, Jennifer C. Burns, Heather M. Burns and Shawn T.L. Burns and 1 great granddaughter, Rylee A. Burns; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Joseph and Robert Burns.
Tom was born in Northbridge, son of the late Henry J. and Mary A. (Gauvin) Burns and had lived in Auburn for over 40 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of W.W. II.
Mr. Burns had been a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service at the Auburn Post Office for 10 years before he retired due to an illness.
He was a member of Saint Joseph's Parish in Auburn. Tom was also an active member and past commander for the Chester P. Tuttle America Legion Post # 279 in Auburn and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was an avid baseball and football fan.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Tom's family on Wednesday, January 11th from 5-8 P.M. in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. His fellow members of the Chester P. Tuttle Post American Legion # 279 will perform their ritual at 7:00 P.M. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 12th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford Street, North, Auburn. Burial will be in the family lot in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn. NORMAN H. BURON
July 22, 1926 - April 28, 2007
Auburn - Norman H. Buron, 81, of Wallace Ave, died Saturday in Saint Vincent Hospital after a brief illness.
He is survived by his wife Marie W. (Mungovan) Buron, of Auburn, and his four daughters; Karen LaPerle, of Blandburg, PA, Norma Germaine of Burnsville, NC, and Linda Babineau and her husband John, of Charlton, and Pamela Brier of Millbury, he also leaves 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, and a sister Annette Mungovan, of Bradenton, FL
He was born in Auburn, the son of the late Rudolph and Adeline (Podvin) Buron; he was a graduate of the Worcester Boys Trade school.
Mr. Buron is a proud veteran; he served his country in WWII as a member of the U.S. Navy SeaBees.
He worked for 42 years for the R.H. White Construction Co. in Auburn, as a construction Foreman.
He was a member of Saint Joseph's Church and the Auburn Knights of Columbus, 4158 where he earned his 4th Degree, and Past Grand Knight.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Wednesday, in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central street Auburn.
His funeral will be held Thursday with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Josephs' Church, 189 Oxford St. North.
Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park
JANET BURRELL
September 24, 1921 - December 8, 2006
SHREWSBURY - Janet Burrell, 85, formerly of Shrewsbury, who has resided in Monson for the past two years passed away Monday December 7th following a very brief illness.
She will be sadly missed by her many friends and the staff of Monson Developmental Center and the Glavin Regional Center in Shrewsbury. Besides her many friends she leaves her special friend Sao Brandt of Shrewsbury and her favorite staff Debbie Palka and Julie Tranghese.
Janet's funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 12th at 10 AM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Following the service she will be buried with her parents in the Old North cemetery in North Weymouth, MA. A memorial service for Janet will be held on Wednesday, December 20th at 2:00 PM at the Monson Developmental Center.
Hazel V. (Orne) Bylund
January 21, 1925 - August 19, 2006
AUBURN, MA - Hazel V. (Orne) Bylund, 81, of 35 Bylund Ave, Auburn, died Saturday, August 19th in her home after an illness.
Her husband of 57 years, Raymond S. Bylund, Sr., died in 2003. She leaves three sons, Raymond S. Bylund, Jr., of Auburn; Ronnie S. Bylund and his wife, Kimberly of Sturbridge, and Terry K. Bylund and his wife, Davina of Charlton; three daughters, Ann M. McTygue and her husband, Michael of East Sandwich, Dawn L. Lemansky and her husband, Richard of Auburn, and Sheryl L. Brunelle and her husband, John of Worcester; also survived by two brothers, George Orne of Grafton and Albert Orne of Spencer; one sister, Ethel Barnes of Brookfield; 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, several nephews and nieces.
Mrs. Bylund was born in Millbury, daughter of the late Carl and Eva (Dahlstrom) Orne and had lived in Auburn for many years. Hazel was a devoted mother and grandmother to her family. She enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and was an avid reader.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Hazel's family on Tuesday, August 22nd from 10-11 A.M. in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. A Funeral Service for Hazel will begin at 11 A.M. following the visitation in the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.
MARY LOUISE (MOONEY) CAHILL
December 9, 1914 - May 11, 2007
Auburn - Mary L. (Mooney) Cahill, 92, of Auburn, passed away in St. Vincent's Hospital on Friday after a brief illness.
Her husband Robert F. Cahill predeceased her in 1999.
She was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Francis and Anne (Mullin) Mooney. She is survived by her children; Robert H. and his wife Judith Cahill, of Wilmington, DE, Mary Lou and her husband James A. DiCarlo, of Littleton, Dr. Thomas F. and his wife Kathleen M. Cahill, of W. Brookfield, Elizabeth A. "Betsy" Cahill, of Auburn, and Kathleen M. and her husband Wayne C. Sulham, of Holden. She is also survived by her sister Kathleen E. Sampson, of E. Dennis, 16 loving grandchildren and 8 Great grandchildren. Her brother Rev. Thomas J. Mooney predeceased her in 2006
Prior to her marriage, Mary worked as a medical secretary in Boston, and she was a secretary for Holy Name High School. She was extremely active in her parish at St. Joseph's in Auburn; teaching CCD, volunteering for the Bishop's Fund, Legion of Mary, and the Altar Guild, and the Thrift Shop.

Jennie I. (Staples) Callahan
January 22, 1932 - January 23, 2008
WEBSTER - Jennie I. (Staples) Callahan, 76, of Thompson Rd., and formerly of Auburn, died at home Wednesday January 23rd, surrounded by her loving family.
She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, William J. "Bill" Callahan in 1994. She leaves her two sons, James W. Callahan and his wife Pamela of Webster, and Michael M. Callahan and his wife Theresa of Auburn; her three beloved sisters, Betty Mason of Rockland, ME, Esther Noel of Auburn, and Diana Schofield and her husband Forrest of Spencer; her four grandchildren, Michael J. Callahan and his wife Shelby Saad-Callahan of Ashland, Neil W. Callahan of Webster, Kristy A. Callahan and William R. Callahan, both of Auburn; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jennie was born in Rockland, ME, daughter of the late Ralph C. and Alice E. (Robbins) Staples, where she was a child star of dance and acrobatics at the young age of 5. Little Jennie and her family dazzled all parts of Maine, under her parents' guidance, until her family moved to Worcester. She later graduated from Worcester schools.
Following her marriage to her beloved William in 1949, Jennie spent the remainder of her life as a devoted wife and mother. She later went to work for the C.C. Lowell Company in Worcester for 25 years, where she met many local artists. She then worked in the cafeteria of the Mary D. Stone School in Auburn for 10 years before retiring. There she delighted in her interactions with the young children. She loved to play pitch, travel, and enjoyed crafts, being accomplished in crocheting and knitting. Jennie never lost her joy for dancing, and loved to go dancing with her husband Bill. The main focus of her life was simply being with her family and friends. She was always happy to be in the company of family and friends for any occasion, and her true legacy is the way she made them feel loved and accepted. She will be greatly missed.

Elizabeth R. (Viola) Capalbo
May 24, 1910 - May 31, 2006
SHREWSBURY - Elizabeth R. (Viola) Capalbo, 96, formerly of Shrewsbury, died Wednesday, May 31st in the Beaumont of Westborough.
She leaves her husband of 66 years, Ralph J. Capalbo, Sr.; her son, Ralph J. Capalbo, Jr. and his wife Loretta of Shrewsbury; her daughter, Janice, wife of David Hoadley of Epsom, NH; her sister, Lucy Piccirilli of Worcester; her five grandchildren, Scott Hoadley, Kristine Kidder, Robert, Chris and Nick Capalbo; her eight great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late John and Corazia (Salrone) Viola and lived in Shrewsbury for more than 50 years before moving to Westborough. She attended Worcester schools.
A devoted homemaker, Mrs. Capalbo also spent many years as a member of the Shrewsbury Women's Club and was a member of St. Mary's Parish in Shrewsbury.

Francis J. "Pucky" Cariglia
August 14, 1929 - July 28, 2006
WORCESTER - Francis J. "Pucky" Cariglia, 76, passed away Friday July 28th in his home.
He leaves his son, Frank P. Cariglia of Bend, OR, his daughter, Heidi, wife of Anthony Maenzo of North Grafton; his sisters, Santa "Sannie" Ciccarelli of Shrewsbury, and Nancy, wife of Robert Spagnuolo of Putnam, CT; his brothers, Joseph Cariglia of Shrewsbury and Peter Cariglia of Worcester; his former wife, Shirley A. (Skoglund) Cariglia of Shrewsbury and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his son, Gary J. Cariglia in 1997.
He was born in Worcester, son of the late Mary (Santamaria) Cariglia and Francesco and Ortenzia (Padavano) Cariglia. He graduated from Commerce High School, where "Pucky" was a standout football player. He was a member of the City All Stars Football team, where he played quarterback for the winning team in 1947. He later attended Northeastern University and graduated from Worcester Junior College with a degree in civil engineering.
A Korean War veteran, Frank proudly served in the US Navy for four years, stationed aboard the USS Voglegesang.
Frank worked as a project manager for Perini Corporation in Framingham for 32 years, retiring in 1996. He was responsible for overseeing many large building projects around Boston and Worcester.
He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Pleasant Valley Country Club, Sutton.
