He was the husband of Mary (Stoddard) Pyne; the father of Linda Bonia, Karen, Donna, Susan, Robert, James Pyne, Sandra Tutela and the late Donald Pyne and the brother of James Pyne, Patrick Pyne, Anne Sullivan, Frank Pyne and the late Robert Pyne. He also leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
SISTER ROSEMARY BURKE C.S.J.
A funeral Mass was said Sunday, June 15, 2003 in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, Framingham for Sister Rosemary Burke, C.S.J.. She was the daughter of the late Patrick J. and Margaret E. (Madagan) Burke and the sister of William J., Thomas A., Joseph V., John E., Gerald A. Burke, Catherine R. Keane, Patricia R. Menjin, Margaret E. Ropple, Barbara A. Hickey and Claire L. Spinney. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
JANICE STUTZMAN
A funeral Mass was said Monday, June 16, 2003 in St. Brigid's Church for Janice M. (Heiskell) Stutzman. She was the mother of Christopher, Matthew Stutzman and Katie King; the daughter of the late Vaughn and Anna Betty (Walker) Heiskell and the sister of Chris, Greg, Buddy, Walter Heiskell, Terry Yelton, Patty Johnson, and the late Mark and Danny Heiskell. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
JEAN SULLIVAN
A funeral Mass will be said Friday, June 20, 2003 in The Church of the Incarnation, Melrose, for Jean M. (Heffernan) Sullivan She passed away at home on Monday, June 16th, after a long illness. Jean was born and raised in South Boston, graduated from the Nazareth School in South Boston and Catherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston. She worked as a legal secretary for a number of law firms in Melrose and the Boston area. Jean worked as a realtor for Lyons Realty in Melrose for several years. She has been a resident of Melrose since 1965, was an avid golfer at Mt. Hood in Melrose, was a longtime member and former CCD teacher at Incarnation Church in Melrose. Jean enjoyed reading, jazz and traveling throughout the United States and overseas.
She was the wife of Joseph A. Sullivan; the mother of Tony Sullivan and his wife Mary Ann of Wakefield, Robert E. Sullivan and his wife Christina of Utah, Jane M. Nickodemus and her husband John of Newburyport, Neal P. Sullivan PhD of Colorado and David R. Sullivan and his wife Andrea of Winthrop and the grandmother of Johnny, Kate, Megan, Samantha Jean and Ellen.
PAUL TOLAND
A funeral Mass was said Tuesday, June 17, 2003 in St. Mary's Church, Melrose for Paul F. Toland, formerly of South Boston.
Raised in South Boston, where he was known as Butch, Paul had a stellar football career as a running back at Boston College High School and then at the College of the Holy Cross. In 1952, while at B.C. High, Paul scored four touchdowns in the Exchange Bowl game against Somerville High School. In 1953, during his senior year at B.C. High, Paul was the top-scoring player in Boston high school football, and was named an All-Scholastic by all three Boston newspapers. That same year, Paul was named the M.V.P. in the Bean Bowl Game, and was designated the Outstanding Player of the Year for Boston high school football by radio station WVOM. Paul continued his football exploits at Holy Cross, and in 1956 he caught a last-second touchdown pass at Fenway Park, to lift the Crusaders over Boston College, thereby becoming the last college football player to score a touchdown at Fenway. In 1957, when Holy Cross played Marquette, Paul became the first college player to score a touchdown at the newly-opened Milwaukee Stadium.
Following Holy Cross, Paul served for two years in the U.S. Navy, based at Pearl Harbor. Returning from the Navy, he tried out for the Boston Patriots professional football team. Paul then had a lengthy and very successful career in Insurance Sales, working with Metropolitan and then Crown Life. After retiring from Insurance, Paul enjoyed community activities, including service as a Volunteer Tutor with the Melrose Public Schools. For several years, he also volunteered as the Treasurer for the Lancers Club at Malden Catholic High School. Paul was a member of the South Boston Irish American Society; the Castle Island Association; the Boston College High School Hall of Fame and the South Boston Hall of Fame.
He was the husband of the late Sheila M. (Turner) Toland; the father of Paul F. Toland Jr. and his wife Mary Beth of NC, Stephen M. Toland of Melrose, Barry C. Toland of Malden, Lynn Marie Kelly and her husband Michael of Waltham and Brenda C. Toland of Melrose; the brother of Virginia O'Neil of Houghs Neck Quincy, William Toland of NJ, Edward Toland of South Boston, Warren Toland of S. Weymouth and the late Donald T. Duncan Toland USMC and the grandfather of Michael, Brian, Daniel, Kelly, Andrew and Padraic. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
ANNA TURNER
A funeral Mass was said Wednesday, June 18, 2003 in St. Brigid's Church for Anna F. (Driscoll) Turner. She was the mother of Deanna Terranova, Gayle Forcione, Deborah Gaughan, Daniel, Kevin, Julie and the late Robert Turner, Jr.; the daughter of the late Daniel and Julia Driscoll and the sister of the late John Driscoll. She also leaves 7 granddaughters.

He was the husband of Janice (LaTerza); the son of the late Daniel Sr. and Elizabeth (Rouse); the brother of Carol E. Lynch, Helen M. Pollard, Richard E. Welch, Elaine T. Cowing, Barbara E. Lyons and the late Donald G. Welch and the nephew of Helen E. Welch. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He also leaves 3 nieces.

She also leaves 22 grandchildren, 38 great grandchilden and many nieces and nephews.
