BEGG (LASKI), JOSPEHINE-- OF HAMILTON- Josephine (Laski) Begg, 97, died Aug. 14, 2008 following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Arthur Begg.
Born in Hamilton on Jan. 25, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Josie (Robitski)Laski. She was raised and educated in Hamilton and graduated from Hamilton High School. She was also a graduate from Burdett College. Mrs. Begg started her career at the Hamilton Post Office but was primarily employed as a clerk in the South Hamilton Post Office. She also spent many years volunteering at the Christ Church thrift store in Hamilton. Mrs. Begg enjoyed summers with her family at the beach in Seabrook, New Hampshire and winters in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Barbara and George Papamechail of Peabody, three grandchildren, Mark Papamechail of Peabody, Melissa Foley of North Carolina and Neil Arthur Papamechail of Peabody and two great grandchildren Kira Foley and Alexis Papamechail. She was predeceased by two brothers, William and Edward Laski.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9AM in the Church of St. Paul, Hamilton on Monday, Aug. 18, 2008. Visiting hours are Sunday from 4:00PM-6:00PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. PORTER, BARBARA -- Barbara M. (Chase) Porter, 80, a longtime Danvers resident, died August 10, 2008 in Hampton, NH following a brief illness. She was the wife of Robert G. Porter.
Born in Danversport on Aug. 18, 1927, she was the first of nine children of the late Raymond and Ruth (Horne) Chase Sr. She attended Danvers schools and was a member of the Class of 1945 at Holten High School.
In 1946, she began her career at New England Telephone as a telephone operator, and in 1986 retired from the accounting department there. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
She and her husband enjoyed camping trips across the country totaling some 37, 00 miles. During their first camping trip in 1960, along with Grandpa Ulysses G. Porter, the family was guests on the Art Linkletter TV show recognizing Grandpa's first camping trip at age 97.
For many years, Barbara and her family enjoyed sailing the costal waters from Jubilee Yacht Club in Beverly and later maintained a second home in Heath, in the Northwest Berkshires. During the 1990s, she and her husband traveled extensively in Europe.
Besides her husband of 61 years, she is survived by a daughter, Barbara Ann Keyes of Danvers, a son, Robert G. Porter, Jr., of So. Easton, her grandchildren: Kenneth Keyes of FL, Amy Porter of Costa Rica, David Porter of Brockton, Farren Keyes of Rowley, and Micaela Robinson of Marblehead, four great-grandchildren: Harrison Gilliss, Emily Keyes, Kenneth Keyes, and Charles Baxter; four sisters: Lois Mahoney, Helen Carter, Joanne Thomas, and Shirley Angelakis.
She was predeceased by four brothers and sisters: Raymond Chase Jr., Bertram Chase, Lorraine Mallia, and Susan Mallia, and her granddaughter Kristen Keyes Gillis and her unborn son, Hayden Gilliss.
Her Graveside Service will be Friday, Aug. 15, 2008 at 11AM in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Sylvan St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4-8PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Porter's memory may be made to the First Baptist Church, 1 Water St., Danvers, MA 01923.
THOMPSON (EATON) BARBARA - OF BEVERLY- Barbara Louise (Eaton) Thompson, 81, died August 10, 2008 at Ledgewood Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Beverly following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Archie Thompson.
Born on Aug. 29, 1926 in Danvers, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Estella (Bullerwell) Eaton. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Holten High School in Danvers. Mrs. Thompson was employed as a social worker for many years. She had been employed at the Danvers State Hospital for ten years and the Northeast Family Institute for ten years. Mrs. Thompson enjoyed traveling and especially enjoyed a trip to Ireland and more frequent trips to Maine.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Walter Jankowski of Beverly and Pamela and George Christo of N. Andover, two brothers, Gordon Eaton of Beverly and David Eaton of Winchester and a sister Marilyn Frans of Texas, three grandchildren, George Christo, Jr. of Washington, D.C., Gregory Christo of N.Andover and Jill Jankowski of Beverly, four great grandchildren, George III, Carly, Benjamin and Sophia Christo and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Patricia Alexander.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30AM on Wed., Aug. 13, 2008 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in N. Beverly Cemetery. Vst. hrs are Tues 4PM-8PM. KOZLOWSKI (KOZEC) STACIA - OF DANVERS, Stacia Marie (Kozec) Kozlowski, 90, died peacefully Tuesday morning, Aug. 5, 2008, at a local nursing facility. She was the wife of the late Walter Kozlowski.
Born in Newburyport on September 7, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Kozec. She was raised and educated in Newburyport, but spent much of her life residing in Salem. Mrs. Kozlowski was employed with Sylvania in Salem and also Parker Brothers, where she retired after eighteen years. She had also been a member of the Golden Age's Club in Salem. Mrs. Kozlowski had resided in Danvers for the past fourteen years.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Robert B. Dunn of Danvers, two granddaughters, Erin and Kerri and a niece Barbara Perusse of Amesbury and many extended family. She was predeceased by siblings, Bernard, Frank and John Kozec and Stella Czerwiec.

WINSKOWICZ, AGNES -- Agnes G. (Tutko) Winskowicz, 92, died Wednesday afternoon, February 25, 2009 following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late John A. Winskowicz, with whom she shared over fifty years of marriage.
Born in Danvers on Aug. 17, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Annie (Splitz) Tutko. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Holten High School, Class of 1934. She resided in Danvers most of her life.
A communicant of St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, she was a past member of Our Lady's Sodality and the former Mr. & Mrs. Club. Mrs. Winskowicz enjoyed gardening in her free time.
She is survived by five children, Anne Dunn of Venice, NY, Janice Stacy of Amesbury, John Winskowicz and his wife Abbie of Topsfield, James Winskowicz of Beverly, and Stephen Winskowicz and his wife Diane of Beverly, 13 grandchildren, 10 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Mary Cotter and Henry and John Tutko.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 2, 2009 at 9AM in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. HIGGINS, MARK F. -- Mark F. Higgins, 38, died unexpectedly on Sunday evening, February 22, 2009.
Born in Newton on Oct. 5, 1970, he was the son of Mary (Regan) Higgins of Danvers and Francis J. Higgins of Clearwater, FL. Mark was raised and educated in Danvers. He resided in Danvers for most of his life and more recently lived in Clearwater, Florida.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters: Mary McMenemy of Hampton, NH and Michelle Carriere of North Andover; two nieces, Savannah McMenemy and Ashley Carriere and a nephew, Jeremy Carriere.
His Funeral Service will be held Friday at 11AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Sylvan St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4-7 in the funeral home.
LOVELL, WARREN P. -- Warren P. Lovell, Jr., 75, of Danvers, formerly of Saugus and Sandown, NH, died Monday morning, February 23, 2009 following a lengthy illness.
Born in Lynn on March 22, 1933, he was the son of the late Warren P. and Emily (Kitson) Lovell, Sr. He was raised and educated in Saugus and was a graduate of Lynn Vocational High School. A veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Lovell served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps.
A master cabinet maker by trade, he was employed for over forty-seven years at the Cliftondale Woodworking Company in Saugus.
Active in Saugus community affairs for many years, Mr. Lovell was a member of the Saugus American Legion Post 210, S/Sgt Arthur F. DeFranzo VFW Post 2346, the Saugus Knight of Columbus, the Marine Corps Intelligence Association, the 2nd Marine Division Association, and the National Eagle Scout Association. An amateur radio enthusiast, his call sign was K1WL.
He is survived by two brothers and their wives, Robert J. and Ann Lovell of Methuen and Peter R. and Maureen Lovell of Danvers; two nieces and their husbands, Mary Beth and Kevin Cappotto of Jacksonville, FL and Patricia and Mark Bell of Danvers; and two nephews and their wives, Richard and Belinda Lovell of Ormond Beach, FL and James and Jennifer Lovell of Danvers. He was the brother of the late Richard J. Lovell.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 10:00a.m. in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. ROST, EDGAR O. -- Edgar O. Rost, 86, died Saturday, February 14, 2009 at a nursing facility in Laconia, NH. He was the loving husband of Lucille (Dupray) Rost.
Born in New York on April 18, 1922, he was the son of the late Oscar and Tosca Rost. He was raised and educated in New York and then graduated from Tufts University and the Boston University School of Law. Mr. Rost was a Danvers resident for many years until moving to Meredith, NH.
After running his own private practice in Danvers for several years, Mr. Rost worked as a patent attorney for Raytheon until the time of his retirement.
Mr. Rost was a longtime member of the Danvers Lions Club, where he was past president, and was also a member of Danvers Rotary for several years. He was also active at the Danvers YMCA and in scouting.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter, Alison Morine and her husband John of MD, a son, Bradford Rost and his wife Karen of Byfield, four grandchildren, John Morine, Jennifer Karampatsos and her husband Jason, Lauri Tran and her husband Eric, and David Morine, and three great-grandchildren, Noah Morine, and Autumn and Faith Karampatsos.

PESOLA, THOMAS N. -- Thomas N. Pesola, D.D.S., 59, died unexpectedly at home in Danvers on Wednesday, February 11, 2009. He was the husband of Joan (Taylor) Pesola, with whom he shared 36 years of marriage. A practicing dentist in Revere, he is remembered as a loyal husband, proud father, doting grandfather, a dear friend, a Boston sports fanatic, and an avid golfer.
Born in Fitchburg, he was the only son of the late Wiljo (Bill) and Jeannette (Nan) (Wiinikka) Pesola and graduated from Ashby High School as the valedictorian of the class of 1967. He went on to graduate with his B.S. in Pharmacy from Northeastern University in 1972, and continued on to graduate from Georgetown University's dental school with his D.D.S. in 1976. Throughout his career, he had dental practices in West Peabody, Peabody, Danvers, and Revere, where his patients frequently complimented him on his sense of humor and soft touch. Tom was a delegate in the North Metropolitan District Dental Society.
He made his home in Danvers for the past 30 years and enjoyed living so close to his children and grandchildren, who nicknamed him "Jimmy the Horse" because of the special piggyback rides he gave them.
In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his children, Kirstin McEachern and her husband Brendan McEachern of Danvers, Kara Pesola and her boyfriend Scott Booth of Brookline, and Victor Wirkkala of Leominster; his grandchildren, Avery Finn McEachern and Owen Thomas McEachern of Danvers and Gunnar Holt of Leominster. He also leaves his mother-in-law, Joan (Gionet) Taylor of Norwich, Connecticut, and an extended loving family.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 2p.m. in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. ADRIEN, RICHARD-- of Danvers-Richard F. Adrien, 80, died Monday, February 2, 2009. He was the husband of the late Agnes (Maguire) Adrien, who passed away in 2004.
Born in Lynn on March 6, 1928, he was the son of the late Napolean and Anne (Tierney) Adrien. He was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1946. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Adrien was employed for many years at General Electric in Lynn before working at Varian in Gloucester where he retired after nearly fifteen years of service.
An avid golfer, he enjoyed boating and dancing and was active at the Danvers Senior Center. He was a loving and devoted grandfather.
He is survived by a son, Richard Adrien of Beverly, a son-in-law, Ronald DuBois of Middleton; three grandchildren, Daniel, Andrea, and Jaclyn DuBois, and a sister, Joan Watt of Lynnfield. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Annemarie Dubois, a sister, Alice Campbell, and a brother, William Adrien.
