HAYNES, FORREST A. 'POP' -- Forrest A. 'Pop' Haynes, 93, died Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 18, 2007 at a local nursing facility. He was the husband of the late Lucille (Lagasse) Haynes, with whom he shared sixty-two years of marriage.
Born in Haverhill on Sept. 12, 1914, he was the son of the late Moses and Lillian (Toshack) Haynes. He graduated from the Essex County Agricultural School in 1935 and worked in his entire life.
He was hired in 1946 as head of the dairy at the Essex County Agricultural School and retired from there in 1970. Following this he ran Pops Garden, growing fruits and vegetables, especially strawberries, behind his home on Maple Street until 1995.
Pop is survived by four children: CAPT Claire H. Purdy, NC, USN, (ret.) and her husband LCDR Randolph S. Purdy, USN (ret.) of Annapolis, MD, Margaret E. Daniels of Middleton, Kenneth F. Haynes and his wife Ellen of Georgetown, and Robert J. Haynes and his wife Sheila of Byfield, 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a brother, Richard Haynes and his wife Joan of Plastow, NH, and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Evelyn Cronin and Thelma Helen.
His Funeral Service will be held Monday at 10:30AM at C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Sunday from 4-8 at the funeral home.
TWISS, JOHN D. -- John D. Twiss, 64, died Wednesday, September 12, 2007 following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Lucille (Janelle) Twiss, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage.
Born in Wilmington, NC on December 9, 1942, he was the son of the late Donald and Leonora (Zarella) Twiss. He was a graduate of Leominster High School and had been a Danvers resident for 41 years.
John was employed as an engineer in the biomedical and semiconductor industries until his retirement ten years ago.
He was an active member in the Sports Car Club of America and the Academy of Model Aviation.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Carolyn Twiss of Topsfield, two grandchildren, and a loving extended family.
He was the father of the late Christine Twiss.

CHAMBERLIAN, GRACE E. of Manchester-by-the-Sea Grace E. Chamberlain, 88, died at her residence on August 31, 2007.
She was born in Nassau, New York, on Dec. 8, 1918, to Adelbert and Gertrude (Hall) Hoffman. She grew up on her parents farm in upstate New York, and was active from her youth in the volunteer Bible education work of Jehovahs Witnesses, which took her to several parts of the United States.
Grace married
Charles E. Chamberlain in 1946, and they eventually settled in Manchester-by-the-Sea in 1963.
Grace was known for her kind and cheerful disposition, as well as for her great sense of humor. She enjoyed hearing and telling jokes and funny stories, and also liked gardening, sewing, cooking, rug braiding and jigsaw puzzles. Most of all she enjoyed sharing the Bibles message of comfort and hope with others.
She is survived by a sister, Doris M. Luck of Delmar, NY; two brothers: Everett A. Hoffman of Wynantskill, NY; Donald J. Hoffman and his wife Phyllis of Stillwater, NY, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband of nearly 50 years and a sister, Evelyn Hoffman.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 2PM in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 76 Concord St., Gloucester, MA. There are no visiting hours.
STELLA, MARY -- Mary M. Stella, 91, died August 9, 2007 at her home in the presence of her beloved family after a lengthy illness.
Born in Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Angelina (LaTorre) Caliento. She had resided in Danvers with her late husband, Michael J. Stella, since 1939.
Her main pleasures were as a mother, a homemaker, and entertaining her many friends and relatives.
She was formerly employed by Hotwatt of Danvers.
She is survived by two sons, Louis J. of Salem and his long-time friend Catherine Stanton of Peabody, and David and his wife Nancy Stella of Natick, two sisters: Lucy Paolino and her husband Michael of Methuen and Carmela Villani of CA, and two grandchildren, Arielle and Michael Stella.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Eleanor Marie Stella, and two brothers, William F. and Albert A. Caliento.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11AM in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. BESSOM, ELIZABETH -- Elizabeth S. (Clement) Bessom, 89, died Monday, August 6, 2007 surrounded by her family following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Frank S. Bessom Jr.
Born in Lynn on Jan. 8, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Julien and Agnes (OSullivan) Clement. She was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1936. She then went on to further her education at the former Burdett College in Lynn.
A Lynn resident until moving to Danvers in 1972, Mrs. Bessom was a communicant of St. Mary of the Annunciation Church in Danvers and a volunteer at My Brothers Table in Lynn for many years. She was an accomplished homemaker who particularly enjoyed sewing and knitting.
Mrs. Bessom was a great advocate of the mentally retarded, participating in the Concerned Citizens of the Mentally Retarded.
For several years, she was employed as an accountant at General Electric.
She is survived by her children: Robert Bessom and his wife Lucia of Ohio, Donald Bessom of Peabody, John Bessom of Danvers, Sr. Linda Bessom, S.N.D. of Cambridge, Joanne Bessom of Danvers, and Mary Bessom of Danvers; a brother, Leo Clement of Georgia; four grandchildren: Amber Jay, Vickie, Daniel, and Donald Bessom, Jr., four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late John Clement, Geraldine Cameron, and Madeline Donovan.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 9AM in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Hobart St., Danvers. GIRARD, MILDRED -- Mildred M. (Rackliff) Girard, 84, died early Wednesday morning, May 28, 2008 at the Kindred Hospital in Peabody. She was the wife of the late Conde Jerry Girard.
Born in Danvers on June 15, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Laura (Ouimette) Rackliff. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Holten High School, Class of 1941.
For several years, Mildred was employed at Sylvania.
A longtime Danvers resident, she was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Annunciation Church. As a homemaker she was an accomplished gardener and enjoyed knitting and crosswords.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Ann Girard of Danvers; nine grandchildren: Todd and David Girard, Billy, Ricky, and Terry Charland, Debbie, David, Dylan and Linda Girard, and Sherry Lubas; two sisters and their husbands: Beverly and Robert Ogiba of Danvers and Barbara and Robert Gauthier of Peabody; several great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

RICHARD, ARTHUR G. OF DANVERS, Arthur George Richard, 79, died Sunday, May 25, 2008. He was the husband of Shirley (Poor) Richard with whom he shared 51 years of marriage.
Born in Salem on Dec. 23, 1928, he was the son of the late Edmund and Wilhelmina (Klink) Richard. He was raised and educated in Salem and Hamilton and graduated from Hamilton High in 1946. Mr. Richard was a resident of Danvers for over 50 years. He was employed as a welder in Essex with the Industrial Cab Company for many years. He enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Riverside Squares.
Besides his wife, Shirley, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Tom Nolan of Windham, NH, two grandchildren, Alyssa and Andrew, four brothers, Edmund Richard of Maine, Robert and Philip Richard of Beverly, Paul Richard of Ipswich and a sister Elizabeth Byrne of Beverly and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May, 29 at 9AM in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Central cemetery in Beverly. CORBETT, JOSEPH, F. OF DANVERS- Joseph Francis Corbett III, 46, died May 12, 2008 at a local hospital. He was the husband of Tracy Allain-Corbett with whom he shared 12 years together.
Born in Danvers on Nov. 14, 1961, he was the son of the late Joseph Jr. and Irene (Driscoll) Corbett. He was raised and educated in Danvers and a graduate of Danvers High School. Joseph was also a graduate of the University of New Hampshire. Joseph was employed with Converge in Peabody as an International Sales Representative. He was also and avid sports fan.
Besides his wife Tracy, he is survived by a daughter Emma Grace and a son Brandon Michael, five sisters; Connie Hunt of Danvers, Therese Lima of Peabody, Elizabeth Corbett of Peabody, Eileen Russo of Beverly and Susan Auger of Maine, one niece and five nephews, mother and father-in-law, Patricia and Roderick Armand of Danvers.

MCKINNON, ARLETTE -- Arlette Katherine (Buchholz) McKinnon died at Masconomet HealthCare Center in Topsfield, MA on May 12, 2008.
Arlette was born in Dubuque, Iowa, January 7, 1919. She was the youngest child of the late Frank Frederick and Emma Jane (Smith) Buchholz.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Genevieve M. Schilling, Dorothy M. and Velma F. Babs Buchholz; and a brother Erwin F. Buchholz.
Arlette was raised in Dubuque, IA. In January, 1943 she enlisted in the Womens Army Auxiliary Corps, then later that year the reformed Womens Army Corps. In 1944, her WAC unit, 6718 HQ Platoon, was sent to Morocco, Tunisia and then to Italy, where Arlette worked in the offices of the Mediterranean Allied Air Force command. Arlette felt that serving her country and the friends she met made this the best time of her life. After the war Arlette returned to Dubuque but within a year she left again, this time to serve as a civilian in the Office of Military Government U.S. in Berlin, Germany. While in Berlin she met and married
James C. McKinnon. After returning stateside, Arlette and James lived in various areas of the country until settling in Danvers, Massachusetts. After James died in 1990, Arlette continued to live in their home in Danvers.
She is survived by two daughters, Ninon and Michelle McKinnon, both of Danvers; two sons, Michael McKinnon and his wife Robbin of Plantsville, CT and J. Brian McKinnon, of Tampa, FL; two grandsons, Sean McKinnon and his wife Lucy of Peabody, MA and Lt jg Brendan McKinnon USCG; four granddaughters, Tara (McKinnon) Bush and her husband James of Gloucester, MA, Caitlin, Meghan and Molly McKinnon of Plantsville, CT; and one great-grandson Ian Bush.
There will be no services. Arlettes remains will be interred in Vine Lake cemetery in Medfield, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Arlettes name to Masconomet HealthCare Center, Resident Council Fund, 123 High Street, Topsfield, MA 01983.
JAMES, RONALD -- Ronald V. James, Jr., 53, died Friday morning, May 9, 2008 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. He was the loving husband of Barbara (Moriarty) James, with whom he shared 22 years of marriage.
Born in Everett on December 18, 1954, he was the son of the late Ronald and Elizabeth (Durham) James. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Danvers High School, Class of 1974.
For thirty-one years, Ron was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at Hogan Regional Center.
A lifelong Danvers resident, Ron was a parishioner of St. Richard Church. He enjoyed time he spent riding his Harley-Davidson, and was an adoring and loving father.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Emily James, a freshman at Danvers High School, and Erin James, a student at Smith School, a sister, Valerie Hajj and her husband Thomas of Methuen, a sister-in-law, Kathryn Ellis of Portland, ME; a niece, Shannon Ellis of Portland, and four nephews, Thomas, Jeffrey, and Samuel Hajj of Methuen and Colin Ellis of Portland, and many dear friends.
