DESCHAMPS, ROBERT L.
DESCHAMPS, ROBERT L. -- 81, died Saturday evening, February 4, 2006, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Marie T. (Gauthier) Deschamps, with whom he shared over 55 years of marriage.
Born in Salem on March 17, 1924, he was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Holten High School, Class of 1943. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army.
For many years until his retirement, Mr. Deschamps was employed as an electronics technician at Varian in Gloucester. Prior to that, he was employed at the General Electric Riverworks plant in Lynn.
Mr. Deschamps was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved electronics, was an avid fisherman and liked going camping. He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Annunciation Church and a member of the Riverside Squares.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children: Bruce R. Deschamps and his wife Penny of Danvers, Karen M. Cheever of Danvers, Janis A. Chapman and her husband Robert Jr. of Randolph, and Debra J. Getchell and her husband James of Florida; his grandchildren: Ryan and Jason Kirkey, Robert and Brandon Deschamps, and Robert, David, Jessica, and Lindsey Chapman. He also leaves a special friend, Myles, his daughters dog. He was predeceased by a son, Laurence P. Deschamps.
His Funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 11AM in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant Street, Danvers. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Relatives and friends are invited.
BOGHOSIAN, PAULINE
BOGHOSIAN, PAULINE -- of Danvers, Pauline (Kalousdian) 82, died Thursday, February 2, 2006 evening surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Vartkis P. Boghosian, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage.
Born in Cranston, RI, on April 17, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Hagop and Teriz (Echmalian) Kalousdian. She was raised and educated in Rhode Island. While in Rhode Island, Pauline was employed at Federal Products a precision instruments manufacturer and also Coro Jewelers, a jewelry manufacturing company.
Mrs. Boghosian and her husband moved to Massachusetts in 1946, residing in Watertown and Saugus before moving to Okinawa. They moved back to the United States and settled in Danvers, MA, where they resided since 1959. She was employed at Ideal Baby Shoe Factory in Danvers. Mrs. Boghosian was a member of St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church and a member of St. Gregorys Ladies Guild. She also was a member of the Armenian Relief Assoc. Pauline enjoyed the lottery and visiting the Rhode Island and Connecticut casinos. She truly loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and was a wonderful cook.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Donna Boghosian of Beverly; a daughter and son-in-law, Ethel and Richard Trask of Danvers; a sister Theresa Brundage of Peabody; three grandchildren, Gregory Boghosian of CA, Todd Boghosian of Peabody and Elizabeth Peterson of NH; four great grandchildren, Jamie Donna and Jenna Pauline Boghosian and Ava Grace and Zachary Alan Peterson, and expecting her second great grandson in March; two sisters-in- law, Rose Khachadoorian and her husband Michael and Margaret (Kalousdian) Merlesena, many nieces and nephews, and a very special cousin, Clara Russian. She was predeceased by siblings, Sahag, Grace and Ethel Kalousdian.
Her funeral service will be held on Tues., Feb. 7, 2006 at 11:00am at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove cemetery. SIROIS, RUTH A. (WILSON)
SIROIS, RUTH A. (WILSON) - 86, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2006 morning at a local nursing home. She was the wife of the late Woodrow E. Sirois.
Born in Tewksbury on March 28, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Harry A. and Alice M. (Collins) Wilson. Mrs. Sirois was a resident of Danvers for much of her life, raising her family there. Upon retirement she and her husband moved to Florida, and resided there for over 20 years. She enjoyed gardening and when visiting her family she would often improve their gardens. Mrs. Sirois dedicated her life to her family and loved spending time with them.
She is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Judith Sirois and Eric and Paula Sirois, all of FL; 4 daughters and 3 sons-in-law, Ruthanne and Charles Lyons of Danvers, Linda and Richard Santos of Haverhill, June and John Murray of NH and Gail Stanley of Danvers; 19 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 2, 2006 at 9:00AM in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Vst. Hrs. are Wed. Feb. 1, from 6:00PM- 8:00PM at C. R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers.
SALVANELLI, REGINA
SALVANELLI, REGINA - of Danvers, Regina Gina (Govoni) Salvanelli, 59, passed away on Sat., Jan. 21, 2006.
Regina was a native New Englander, born in Beverly on Aug. 1, 1946, the daughter of Marion (Scouller) Raninen of New Hampshire, and the late Douglas Govoni. She was a graduated from Hamilton-Wenham High School, class of 1964. Gina attended Northeastern University and received her license as a Radiology Technician. She had been employed at the Boston Childrens Hospital, Beverly Hospital, Cable Hospital, and others hospitals throughout her long career. Gina was a generous and giving person, who gave often to various charities, including her prized Greyhound Friends.
Besides her mother, Marion, she is survived by her husband, Francis Mike Kernan, III of Texas; two sons, James Salvanelli and his wife Robyn of Gloucester and Jeffrey Salvanelli and his wife Michelle of Gardener; two grandchildren, Matthew and James and a sister Christine Smith of New Hampshire.
A gathering for family and friends will be held this Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006 from 12:30pm- 2:30pm at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Guests are welcome to bring pictures or other memorabilia to share their knowledge of Regina. All such will be returned following the visitation. LAVORE, NORMA
LAVORE, NORMA - of Danvers, Norma Lavore, 89, passed on Jan. 18, 2006 at the Hunt Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility, following a lengthy illness.
Born on Sept. 10, 1916 in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Rocco and Adele Lavore. She was raised and educated in Lynn and graduated from Lynn Classical High School. Ms. Lavore was employed in the Benjamin Schwartz Shoe Factory as a stitcher. After retirement, she resided in Danvers.
Although never married, she was a part of our family, and loved by her nieces and nephews, Marilyn and Frank Costanzo of Danvers, John and Melinda Costanzo of
N. Reading, Lisa and Jess Hinkle of Rhode Island, Noreen Carlson of Nebraska and Janice Perlman of New Hampshire.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, February 12, 2006 at 10:00am in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Arrangements made by C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers.
DEMPSEY, JAMES H.
DEMPSEY, JAMES H. -- Gun, 83, died Monday, Jan. 19 following a lengthy illness. He was the wife of Margaret (Henderson) Dempsey.
Born on Sept. 14, 1922 in Beverly, he was the son of the late James and Mary (Putnam) Dempsey. He was raised and educated in Danvers and graduated from the Holten High School in 1940. Mr. Dempsey was an honorably discharged Veteran of WWII, serving with the United States Army. He was employed at Babco Machine Shop for several years. Mr. Dempsey was also employed as a master machinist, working on jet engine parts for G. E. in Lynn for over 20 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and working around the home.
Besides his wife Margaret, with whom he just shared their 57th wedding anniversary, Mr. Dempsey is survived by two sons, Eric Dempsey of Georgia and Steven Dempsey of Danvers; a sister Ruth Danforth of Beverly and three grandchildren, Michael, Chadd and Travis and one great grandchild, David. He was predeceased by two sons, John and David.
Mr. Dempseys funeral arrangements are private and are made by C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St. Danvers. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to the VNA Care Network, 5 Federal St., Danvers MA 01923.
CORREIA, MANUEL F.
CORREIA, MANUEL F. -- Manuel F. Correia, 76, died Wednesday evening, January 18, 2006 following a lengthy illness surrounded by his loving family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. He was the loving husband of Maria (Correia) Correia, with whom he shared nearly 55 years of marriage.
Born in Somerville on April 2, 1929, he was the son of the late Manuel and Eliza (Gonsalves) Correia. He was raised and educated on Madeira Island off the coast of Portugal and returned to the United States in 1946. He resided in Peabody for several years, in Danvers for more than 20 years, and had made his home in Middleton for the last 15 years.
For many years Mr. Correia was employed in the leather industry. In his retirement, he was employed as a custodian at both the Howe Manning School in Middleton and the Middleton Police Department. He also worked as a crossing guard.
Manny loved golf and hockey and was active in the Portuguese-American Club in Woburn. He was a member of the Middleton Congregational Church where he was loved by many. He was a loving father, grandfather, and friend.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by three daughters and their spouses: Ann and Ed Nunery of So. Freeport, Maine, Debi and Robert Gnoza of Peabody, and Josie and Glenn White of Merrimac; a brother, Ramiro Correia of Peabody; a sister, Elisa Medeiros of Medford; eight grandchildren: Kirsten, Jared, and Megan Nunery, Melissa Ogden, Manny Gnoza, Justin and Dylan Martini, and Brittany Butterworth; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters.
BOCKUS, CHIPPER
BOCKUS, CHIPPER -- Earl M. Chipper Bockus, Jr., 59, died early Thursday morning, January 19, 2006, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Lynn on Sept. 22, 1946, he was the son of the late Earl and Margery (Trask) Bockus Sr. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a longtime Danvers resident. Chipper had also lived for several years in Marathon in the Florida Keys.
He was an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War.
Chipper was employed as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for numerous paving and construction companies throughout the North Shore.
He was a member of the Polish, Russian, Lithuanian Citizens Club of Danvers. He donated his time and resources to numerous charities, and would do anything for anyone. Chipper had a passion for children and sports, and was always one to start the party.
He is survived by his parter of 20 years, Joan (Cassidy) Woods; a niece, Brittany; a nephew, Aaron, several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and many dear friends.
A visitation will be held Saturday from 4-7PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Following the visitation, Chippers friends will conduct a funeral service at 7PM in the funeral home.
WING, ANITA D.
WING, ANITA D. -- Anita D. (Hawkins) Wing, 82, died Monday, January 16, 2006 at Lake Shore Hospital. She was the wife of the late Harry L. Wing.
Born in St. Louis, MO on Oct. 23, 1923, she was the daughter of the late George and Phoebe Hawkins. She was raised and educated in St. Louis. Mrs. Wing was a resident of Danvers for many years, resided in Peabody for several years, and had been living with family in New York for the last five years.
She was employed as a nurses aide at the former Hunt Memorial Hospital in Danvers until the time of her retirement. Mrs. Wing enjoyed playing Bingo and was active in the American Legion.
She is survived by her children: Sanford Porter, Charolette Miller, and Terry Silva; her sisters: Starr Hawkins, Jude Ann Beasley, and Betty Pines; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She was predeceased by two children: Celeste Cormier and Larry Porter; and two brothers, Charles and Harold Hawkins.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday at 10:30AM at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St., Peabody. An hour of visitation will precede the service from 9-10AM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Relatives and friends are invited.
COBUZZI, MICHELE
COBUZZI, MICHELE -- Michele Cobuzzi, 76, died Monday evening at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Nannina (Cotoia) Cobuzzi, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.
Born in Panni, Italy on March 11, 1929, he was the son of the late Francesco and Donata (Melino) Cobuzzi. He was raised and educated in Panni and worked there on his family farm until emigrating to Danvers in 1971.
Mike was employed at the Danversport Yacht Club until his retirement in 1994.
A communicant of St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, he was an avid gardener, made his own wine, and was proud of keeping up his home.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four children: Francesco Frank Cobuzzi of Danvers, Donata Pentella and her husband Domenic of Everett, Antonietta Cognati of Danvers, and Maria Azzaoui and her husband Zaki of Pelham, NH; five brothers: Luigi, Antonio, Pocco, Paolo, and Carmelo Cobuzzi, two sisters: Maria Cacchiotti and Giusappina Lapolla; six grandchildren: Angelo, Annalisa, and Michael Pentella, Mauro Cognati, and Sarah and Ali Azzaoui; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Sarafina Rainone.

KUSZMAR, AILEEN
KUSZMAR, AILEEN -- Aileen (Roberts) Kuszmar, 92, died late Thursday, January 5, 2006, at a local nursing facility following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Michael Kuszmar.
Born in East Boston on Jan. 17, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Milo and Mary (Wood) Roberts. She was raised and educated in Danvers and Salem and was salutatorian of the Salem High School Class of 1931.
Mrs. Kuszmar was employed for many years as a housekeeper for Judge Ankeles in Peabody and in several other private homes.
An animal lover, she especially loved cats and always had a house pet. She enjoyed reading and composing poetry and regularly contributed her poetry to the Letters to the Editor section of the Salem Evening News.
She is survived by a brother, Kenneth Roberts of Washington D.C., her grandchildren: David and Kenneth Coleman of Salem, Philip and James Coleman of NV, Susan Morneau of Salem, and Carole, Angela, Lisa, Lois, and Michael Porter of CA. She was the mother of the late Nancy Hayes and Shirley Porter and the sister of the late James, Chester, Paul, and Herbert Roberts.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday at 10:30AM in Greenlawn Cemetery, Orne St., Salem. Relatives and friends are invited. There are no visiting hours. PRINCE, RICHARD H.
PRINCE, RICHARD H. -- Richard H. Prince, 70, died Friday, January 6, 2006 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Hilda (Freeman) Prince, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.
Born in Peabody on Nov. 10, 1935, he was raised and educated in Beverly and was a member of the Beverly High School Class of 1953. A lifelong Beverly resident, he served honorably in the U.S. Army during the 1950s where he did a tour of duty in Germany.
Mr. Prince worked in the concrete foundation business; he later owned and operated Prince Concrete Forms, Inc.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved the time he spent at his second home in East Lowell, Maine.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by a sister-in-law, Dottie Prince of FL, three brothers-in-law, Vincent Freeman of Beverly, Raymond Freeman and his wife Georgette of West Boylston, and Donald Freeman and his wife Carol of Leominster. He was the brother of the late Ronald and Raymond Prince and brother-in-law of the late Thomas Freeman.

HORYN, ROBERT E.
HORYN, ROBERT E. -- Robert E. Horyn, 58, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 10, 2006, from injuries sustained in a pedestrian accident. He was the husband of the late Suzanne (Dervin) Horyn.
Born in Stoneham on Nov. 19, 1947, he was the son of the late Emil Mike and Marguerite Horyn. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Danvers High School, Class of 1965. During high school, he was active in the Boy Scouts and in the DHS Marching Band.
For many years, Bob was employed as a transmission specialist for several area auto repair shops.
Bob enjoyed cooking and had a great sense of humor. He loved animals and nature and was known for living outdoors.
He is survived by two sons, Jason Horyn of No. Andover and James Horyn of Salem, a sister and brother-in-law, Kristina and Lawerence Doyle of Groveland, 3 grandchildren, 2 neices, a nephew, and a dear friend, Eric Eveleth of Danvers.
His funeral service will be Monday at 9:30AM in the North Shore Chapel at the Hollywood Hits Theater, 7 Hutchinson Dr., Danvers. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
