John E. Thompson
John E. Thompson, 59, of Pleasant Street, Littleton died in February 6, 2008 at Wayside Hospice in Wayland after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Cambridge on September 20, 1948 son of Madeline (Larner) Thompson of Durham. NH and the late John P. Thompson. He grew up in Lexington and was a graduate of Lexington High School Class of 1967. John owned and operated Thompson Painting where he worked as a painting contractor all his life. He married Marion “Mae” (Fenochette) Thompson in 1970 and they have lived in Littleton since then.
John loved music and played guitar, banjo and piano. He especially liked his band “The Gentleman” in his younger years. John also took up photography as a hobby.
He is survived by his mother Madeline (Larner) Thompson of Durham, NH, his wife of 37 years Marion “Mae” (Fenochette) Thompson of Littleton, a son Brendon and his wife Casey Thompson of Savannah, Georgia, a daughter Cara Thompson of Avon, CT. a brother James Thompson of Billerica, Patricia Venier of Nashua, Frances Alexson of New Hartford, CT. Ann Marie Carter of Durham, NC., and Pauline J. Thompson of Maryland. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren Olive and Hazel Thompson
A Memorial Service will be held at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St. Littleton on Saturday at 10 a.m.. George Elliott Spurr, Jr.
George Elliott Spurr, Jr., beloved son of George E. Spurr Sr and Irene (Belle Isle) Spurr passed peacefully on 16 February 2008 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
George was born in Lawrence, MA and at the age of 6 months moved to Littleton with his parents. He spent his school years in Littleton and graduated from Littleton High School in 1947. He then joined the Navy where he spent 8 years prior to transferring to the US Air Force. He retired in 1974 at the rank of Master Sergeant/First Sergeant with a total of over 27 years service. His tours of duty included Cuba, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, California, Tennessee, New York Goose Bay, Labrador and Keflavik, Iceland. He was also a Flight Mechanic and Air Flight Crew member of TBM torpedo bomber aircraft while serving in the Navy. Serving worldwide while in the Air Force, he specialized in RADAR Detection/Combat Identification and Intercept Operations and also as a recruiter in Buffalo, New York. While in Iceland, he coordinated and led a group of military volunteers to assist in evacuation, rescue and salvage operations during the Westmann Islands volcanic eruption in 1973. He was the recipient of many awards and commendations throughout his military career. After his retirement, he worked for Johnson’s Market, J.M Leahy Co. J& M Carpets and Separation Technologists.
In 1953 he married Theresa O’Leary to whom he was married for 54 years.
George was an avid golfer, fisherman, sportsman, woodworker and world traveler. He enjoyed visiting many countries accompanied by his loving wife and sons, George III and Kevin. He also enjoyed spending time at the shore with his sons, daughter-in-law, Melissa, and grandsons, Liam and Thomas.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa (O’Leary) Spurr, sons George III, Kevin and his wife Melissa, and grandsons Liam and Thomas. He is also survived by many cousins and their families.
Funeral from the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St, Littleton, on Wednesday at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne;s Church 75 King St. Littleton at 10 a.m.. Viisting hours Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m, Burial at Westlawn Cemetery. Littleton.

Audrey Wickman
Audrey Wickman of Macedon, New York, formerly of Ashby Ma. January 31, 2008 Audrey A. (Wheeler) Wickman age 60 died unexpectedly Thursday at the Newark Wayne Hospital . She was born in Ayer, Ma. August 21, 1947 daughter of the late James A. and Mary J. (Walsh) Wheeler. She spent her early life in Westford and was a graduate of Westford Academy.
An accomplished Business Woman Mrs. Wickman had operated several Business’s in the area Winn Assemblies of Amherst, New Hampshire a Laundromat in Cambridge as well as working in several Kennels in the area Harvard Kennels, and the Tyngsborough Kennel and had most recently was the co-owner of Tailwagger Kennel in Macedon New York. Audrey was a volunteer at several Humane Societies and was a lover and advocate for all animals.
She is survived by her long time life partner and business partner Masahide “Andy” Anderson of Macedon, New York a daughter Kelly White and her husband Christopher of Ashby, Ma. a son Sowat Daravong of Lowell, Ma.
Her siblings Richard B. Wheeler of Littleton, Floyd A. and Pat of Ashby, Janet M. Wheeler of Westford, D. Wayne Wheeler and his wife Nancy of Littleton, Allan S. Wheeler and his wife Pat of Jacksonville Fl., David M. Wheeler and his wife Krystal of Fitchburg, Dr. Robert E. Wheeler MD. and his wife Karen of Amherst NH. Ronald F. Wheeler of Grafton, NH. and Stephen S. Wheeler of Westford. 3 grandchildren Michael, Justin and Angela Daravong. As well as many nieces and nephews and friends.
Wickman of Macedon, New York formerly of Ashby Ma. Audrey A. (Wheeler) Wickman suddenly January 31, 2008 . Visiting Hrs. will be held Wed 5-8 P.M. at the Badger Funeral Home 347 King St. (Rte 2A/110) Littleton. Funeral Services will be private. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to you’re local Humane Society in Audrey’s Memory.

Alice (Higgins) Dudley
Alice (Higgins) Dudley, 79 of Palmetto FL and Littleton, MA, died on Feb 7, 2008, at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton FL. She was born in Lawrence, MA on March 18, 1928 daughter of the late Edward and Sybil (Whiteneck) Higgins and she was the wife of the late Richard Dudley Sr, who died in 1992. She grew up in Acton and was a graduate of Acton High School . She married her husband in 1946 and they made their home in Stow for over 25 years. She then moved to Littleton for over 20 years where she wintered in FL and summered in Massachusetts. Alice was a former member of the Littleton Congregational Church. She enjoyed knitting, traveling, bingo and Foxwoods.
Mrs. Dudley is survived by 3 children, Richard Dudley. Jr. of Athol, MA. Ronald Dudley of Worcester, VT., David Dudley of Fitchburg, MA and Jane Greenwood of New Ipswich, NH., a sister Clair Jackson of Littleton, numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St. Littleton, at 11 a.m.. There will be no visiting hours, Burial at Brookside cemetery in Stow.

Marie (Madsen) Ehwa
Marie (Madsen) Ehwa, 87, of Newtown Road Littleton died at Concord Health Care Center in Concord. She was born in Boston on February 19, 1921 daughter of the late John M. and Emma (Pretty) Ehwa and was the stepdaughter of the late Iola (Tobin) Ehwa and was the wife of the late Frederick P. Ehwa. She grew up in Roxbury and was married in 1946. She worked as a secretary at Mosler Safe Co. in Boston where she and her husband met. They lived in Brighton for 5 years and moved to Littleton in 1952. Marie worked for GenRad Co. where she oversaw military contracts. She was a member of the Littleton Congregational Church, and a sewing group at the church where they sewed blankets for babies and clothing for the needy; Her hobbies were sewing, knitting and loved her grandchildren
Mrs. Ehwa is survived by her children Frederick J, Ehwa and Glenn Ehwa both of Littleton and Pamela Marie Ratta of Union, NH. Her Grandchildren Michelle Ratta on Union, NH. Robert Ratta and Jennifer Mayo both of Littleton, John Paul Ehwa and Todd Eric Ehwa both of Ayer, Frederick Charles Ehwa of Leominster. and the late Frederick J. Ratta, Great grandmother of Ryan Thomas Mayo, Morgan Marie Mayo, Tyler John Mayo, Gary Sammarco Jr. Gina Marie Sammarco, Marc James Sammarco, Jacqueline Michelle Sammarco, Shelly Lynn Ratta, Jack Michael Ratta, Adison Marie Ratta, Jackson cade Ehwa, Carley Marie Ehwa, Taylor MacKenzie Ehwa, and Hanna Marie Ehwa. Sister of Evelyn Madsen of South Shore, and the late Harold and Frank Madsen. Funeral Services will be held at Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St, Littleton on Sat at 11 am, for Family and Close Friends. Visiting Hours 9-11 prior to the service. Burial at Westlawn Cemetery. Cecelia McNulty
Cecelia McNulty of Pepperell died at her sons home in Groton after a long illness on September 27, 2008. She was born in Chicago Illinois June 20, 1934 the only child of the late Edward H. and Cecilia (McNamara) Murphy . She spent her early life in Chicago where she attended Our lady of Peace Grammar School and was a graduate of South Shore High School she also attended DePaul University.
In her earlier years she had been employed at the 1st National Bank of Chicago a dental hygienist in Alabama, Red Lobster Restaurants in Alabama, Arizona and Massachusetts and most recently at the Fruitlands Museum in Harvard as a Tour Guide.
She had also lived in Mississippi, Alabama, Wisconsin and Germany, and enjoyed her travels to Ireland, New York City and Washington D.C.
A resident of Pepperell for several years she had been a Parishioner of St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Nashua, N.H.
Besides traveling she enjoyed Reading visiting Museums following football & baseball. Playing Trivial Pursuit and Rummikub and being involved with her grandchildren and their activities.
She is survived by her 2 sons Patrick William McNulty and his wife Wendy (Holdorf) McNulty of Madison, Mississippi and Michael Edward McNulty and his wife Beth (Campano) McNulty of Groton, Ma. 3 grandchildren Andrew Joseph McNulty of Madison, Molly Katherine McNulty and Abigail Katylyn McNulty both of Groton, Ma. Also survived by a cousin James McNamara of Mokena, Il. Sister in Laws Maureen O’Donnell of Rye, NY. And Rae O’Connor of Lansdowne, Va.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday 9 A.M. at St. Joseph the Worker Parish 777 West Hollis St. Nashua, N.H. Visiting hrs. Edgar Eglitis
Edgar Eglitis, 82, of Harwood Ave, Littleton died unexpectedly in Sweden on September 23, 2009. He was born in Latvia on January 11, 1926 son of the late Julius and Anna (Linkaitas) Eglitis and was the husband of the late Christine (Pierce) (Healy) Eglitis who died in 2003.
He grew up in Latvia, and at age 17, he and his entire immediate family were uprooted due to the Second World War. Under German control, Edgar was forced to fight in Poland and soon after escaped to the French controlled section of Germany to live out the war.
Edgar came to the United States through NY and moved to the Boston area. He was married to his first wife Velta (Muizulis) Eglitis in 1950. They raised their family of six children while living in many locations in Eastern Massachusetts. Edgar was a skilled carpenter and worked in construction for most of his life. He established Eglitis Construction Company which operated in the Greater Boston area for many years.
He married Christine in 1974 and they had since made their home in Littleton. He loved his garden, flowers, woodworking and spending time with people he loved.
Mr. Eglitis is survived by his children, Edgar and his wife Karen Eglitis of Framingham, Peter and his wife Roberta Eglitis of New Milford, CT, Anita and her husband John Cormier of Bellingham, Robert and his wife Irma Eglitis of Maynard, Daina and her husband Jerry Sutton of Boston, and Dagmara Eglitis of Boston. He is also survived by his stepchildren Joanne and her husband Bob Myers of Bolton, Gail Scott of Acton, Carol and her husband Daniel Sweeney of Bolton, Dorothy and her husband Richard O’Reilly of Princeton, along with 22 Grandchildren and 25 Great Grandchildren.
Visiting Hours will be held at Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St, Littleton on Friday 10/3/08 from 4-8 pm. A Graveside Service will be held At Gethsemane cemetery in West Roxbury on Saturday 10/4/08 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Bethke Cancer Center, Emerson Hospital, ORNAC, Concord, MA or The Latvian Lutheran Church of Boston, 58 Irving St. Brookline, MA 02445.

Alice (Stowell) Trepanier
Alice (Stowell) Trepanier, 89, of Goldsmith Street, Littleton, died on September 9, 2009, at Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer after a brief illness. She was born in Lowell on March 2, 1919 daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Byne) Stowell and was the wife of the late Arthur Trepanier who died in 2003. She was educated in the Lowell School System and St. Patrick’s School and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Tewksbury State Hospital. She was married to Arthur Trepanier for 60 years.
Alice was a life member and charter member of both the Disabled American Veteran’s and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed working and traveling with her husband on Veterans Affairs.
She was a faithful communicant of St. Anne’s Church in Littleton since moving to Littleton in the 1950’s and also a charter member of St. Anne’s Sodality where she enjoyed serving the Baptismal Robes.
Alice spent the last 6 months at Life Care of Littleton where she participated in all activities received excellent care. Her family is truly grateful to the staff, nurses and activities personnel for making these last few months pleasant for her
She is survived by a daughter, Lois Trepanier of Littleton, a son James and his wife Linda Trepanier of Lowell, 3 sisters Loretta O’Rourke of Nashua, NH, Anne and her husband Edward Golden of Lowell and Irene Newton of Lowell. She is also survived by a Grandson Edward and his wife Susan Frederick of Pittsfield and a great grandson Jackson. She was also the sister of the late Katherine Lally and Rita F. Stowell.

Arthur T. Bowes
Arthur T. Bowes, 84, of Autumn Ridge Drive, Ayer died on September 14, 2009 at Clinton Hospital. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 30, 1923 son of the late Francis and Elsie (Treen) Bowes. Mr. Bowes grew up in Winchester and was a graduate of Wilbraham Academy and later East Coast Aero Technical Institute. He served as a S/Sgt. in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII as an airplane mechanic where he participated in the China, Burma, and India theatres.
Arthur worked for Pan American as an aircraft mechanic and later at MIT-Hanscom Flight Facility in Bedford. He later worked as a marine surveyor for Intermodal Transportation Services for 12 years until his retirement in 1988. He made his home in Reading for over 50 years and moved to Ayer 2 years ago. Mr. Bowes was a former member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, and a member of the Air Force Association.
He is survived by his wife Anne (McPartlan) Bowes of Ayer, a daughter Meredith Bowes and her companion Angelo Iannuzzo of Groton, sister Barbara Durland of Hingham, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Friday at 11 am at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Faulkner Street, Ayer. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Badger Funeral Home, 45 School Street, Groton. Burial at Groton Cemetery, see www.badgerfuneral.com. Janet (Wheeler) Spinney
Janet (Wheeler) Spinney, 94, of Ashuelot, NH. died peacefully in her sleep on September 11, 2008, Daughter of Alfred Augustus Wheeler, MD and Abagail (Cooke) Wheeler, RN. Of Leominster, MA. She was a graduate of Massachusetts General Hospital in 1933 and the University of Maine in Orono. . She remembers accompanying her father, a well known doctor with horse and buggy to make house calls in those early years right on up to her last trip via jumbo jet where she loved wintering with her son and daughter-on law in Hesperus, CO. In May she returned home to Ashuelot, NH with daughter Gail and son-in-law Bob and their beloved Corgi, Jeep. During her long life she enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, South America and Europe with her husband Harry A. Spinney. But she an avid New York Times crossword puzzler, tireless cribbage competitor. And played bridge with competence. Janet and her Harry were avid horsemen, which continued through four generations. . She loved to watch the Patriots and Red Sox as well as college football. Harvard/Brown was the one she loved to attend. She is survived by her daughters Gail Spinney Lingham of Ashuelot, NH, Susan Spinney of Jefferson, ME, and her son Jonathan Wheeler Spinney of Hesperus, CO. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Tamara McAlpine Cassidy of Lunenburg, MA, Jonathan Scott McAlpine of Lancaster, MA, Laura H. Spinney of Parkdale, OR, and Jonathan Daniel Spinney of San Diego, CA. Her great grandchildren include Donald Jonathan and Patrick James Callahan, Jonathan David and Jenna Dallaire McAlpine. She set a fine example as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She lived with gusto and will be missed forever. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Janet Wheeler Spinner’s memory to Home Health Care and Hospice, P.O. Box 564, 312 Marlboro St., Keene, NH 03431. Their outstanding staff kept Janet and her family comfortable to the very end. We sincerely thank each of you. A private family Memorial Service will be held by her family to celebrate her life.

Herbert Charles Wing III
Herbert Charles Wing III, of Littleton died unexpectedly at Lahey Clinic in Burlington on March 18, 2009. He was born in Lynn on May 4 1961 son Herbert and Joanne ((Marshall-Walsh) Wing Jr, of Rowley. He grew up in Rowley and graduated from Byfield High School in 1979. Herb then attended St. Anslem’s College for 2 years and graduated from Salem State College with a BS Degree in Criminal Justice. He was married in 1987 had has made his home in Littleton for many years.
Mr. Wing worked in Sales for Morris Alpert Food Brokers, which became Acosto, for several years and serviced places like Stop & Shop. Most recently he worked in Sales for H.P. Hood Co. for the past 5 years. He also owned his own disc jockey business called Traveling Tunes for the past 12 years.. He was very active in Littleton Youth Baseball League, flag football and loved camping. According to his children he was “the best Dad ever” and loved parties.
Besides his parents, Herb is survived by his wife Rosemarie (Farina) Wing, and 2 sons, Michael G. Wing and Justin C. Wing all of Littleton. He was also the brother of Darlene (Wing) LeBel and her husband Andrew of Exeter, NH, Stephen Wing of Battleground, WA, Andrew Wing of Queen City, Arizona, and Matthew and his wife Suzanne (Marini) Wing of Woburn, MA. and is survived survived by many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces Nephews and Cousins. Funeral Services will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 164 Newtown Road, Acton, Ma on Tuesday at 10 a.m., Visiting Hours will be held Monday 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King Street, Littleton. Burial at Westlawn Cemetery, Littleton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Friends of the Wing Family, C/O Northern Bank & Trust, P.O. Box 597, Littleton, MA 01460.

Marcia (Travis) Learmonth
Marcia (Travis) Learmonth, 70, of Mattawanakee Trail, Littleton died unexpectedly at Emerson Hospital on March 22, 2009. She was born in Waltham on December 16 1938 daughter of the late Richard and Helen (Franklin) Travis. She grew up in Weston and was a graduate of Concord High School, Class of 1957. She was married in 1957 and has made her home in Littleton since then. Marcia worked as an inspector for both DIC and GenRad for 12 years.
She was a Girl Scout Leader for 30 years, a member of the Chelmsford Quilters Guild, Concord Piecemakers, St. Anne's Church in Littleton and a former member of the Concord Congregational Church. Marcia loved Cape Cod, swimming and collected Phoenix Bird Dishes.
Her survivors include her husband Robert B. Learmonth, Jr. of Littleton, 2 daughters Jean Mickle of Concord and Laurie and her husband Harry Whitcomb of Townsend. A sister Barbara House of Brentwood, Maryland and 3 grandchildren: Meghan Mickle, Kevin Whitcomb and Bruce Whitcomb. A niece Cheryl Gardner and a nephew Ken House. She was also the mother of the late Robert B. Learmonth III and the sister of the late Patricia Sperry.

William D. Crory, Jr.
William D. Crory, Jr., 81, of Nashoba Road Littleton died at his residence on March 22, 2009. He was born in Concord on May 27, 1927 son of the late William and Jennie (Mathison) Crory, A life long resident of Littleton, Bill grew up on Cobb Farm.. He attended the Littleton School System, was a graduate of Lawrence Academy, Class of 1946, and also attended Boston University. Bill started in sales with Met Life for several years and later with San-Vel Corp of Littleton for 20 years where he was a former Vice President till 1980. Bill also worked for many years at Leahy Trucking Co. and also drove for Littleton Limo.
He was a member of St. Anne’ Catholic Church where he was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Holy Name Society. He was a Past President of Littleton Rotary Club, a Trustee of Middlesex Savings Bank for over 25 years, an officer of American Concrete Institute, and was active in Scouting with his sons. He enjoyed biking and tennis.
Mr. Crory is survived by his wife of 53 years Mary Patricia (Leary) Crory of Littleton, and his seven sons and spouses, John and Sharyn Crory of Townsend, James and Jean Crory of Mason, NH., Timothy and Sandra Crory of Townsend, Joseph Crory of Westford, Kevin and Suzanne Crory and Peter and Deborah Crory both of Littleton and Richard and Maura Crory of Highland Ranch, CO,
one daughter Carol Crory of Leominster. Two sisters Loretta Prehl of Ayer and Mary Christiansen of Newbury NH, 23 Grandchildren and a cousin Jack ‘Cuz’ Hendrick of Abington. He was also the brother of the late Fred Crory and Arthur Crory.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anne’s Church, 75 King Street, Littleton. On Friday at 10 am. Visiting Hours will be on Thursday at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St. Littleton from 1-4pm and 6-9 pm. Burial at Westlawn cemetery Littleton. For those who wish contributions may be made in his memory to St. Anne’s Church or to the Hematology-Oncology Clinic, C/O John Cummings Building, Emerson Hospital, ORNAC, and Concord, MA 01742.
