Lucille Washburn Brooks, 85, of Orford, N.H. and formerly of Nantucket, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the family lot in the Orford Street Cemetery.
Julien J. Lacourse, 70, of Andover, Mass. and a summer resident of Nantucket, died Thursday, March 22, 2007 at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, N.Y. Services were held March 27 in Andover.
Mary Louise Hills Penrose, 93, of Sconset and Bloomfield Hills, Mich., died Tuesday, March 20, 2007.
Patricia O’Gara Steller, 76, of New Canaan, Conn. and a summer resident of Nantucket, died Sunday, March 18, 2007 at the Richard Rosenthal Hospice in Stamford, Conn. after a battle with cancer. A Memorial Mass was held March 31 in Greenwich, Conn.
Clare H. Reinhard, 87, of Oberlin, Ohio and the father of Allen B. Reinhard of Nantucket, died Sunday, March 25, 2007 at New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain, Ohio following a brief illness. A memorial service was held Wednesday, March 28 in Amherst, Ohio. Burial will be in the Crownhill cemetery in Amherst.
Eddie Smith Jr., 59, a long-time resident of Nantucket and Vidalia, Ga., died Friday, March 16, 2007 at his home in Georgia. A funeral service was held Saturday, March 24 at the Vidalia Funeral Home.
Muriel Williams, 90, a long-time resident of Montclair, N.J., Hartford, Conn. and Nantucket, died Saturday, March 10, 2007 after a short illness at Crane's Mill Life Care Retirement Community in West Caldwell, N.J. Ms. Williams’ ashes will be buried in the David Williams family lot at Sleepy Hollow cemetery in Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. later in the spring. There will be a simple Episcopal service at the graveside.
Mary "Molly" Kilday (Lorimer) Coates, 96, of Nantucket, died Saturday, March 10, 2007. A service to celebrate Mrs. Coates’ life will be held this summer.
Theodore William “Bill” Gilbert, 77, of Winter Park, Fla. and Nantucket, died Thursday, March 8, 2007 from diabetes and complications following surgery. He was interred in Prospect Hill cemetery on Nantucket on March 12.

Madeline Bohnsack, 79, of Germantown, N.Y. and a summer resident of Nantucket, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at her home after a long illness. A funeral service was held March 10 in Germantown.
George C. Rucker, 87, of Osterville, Mass., the father of Christine Loftin of Nantucket, died Monday, March 5, 2007 at home. A funeral mass was celebrated March 9 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Osterville, followed by burial with military honors at the Massachusetts National cemetery in Bourne, Mass.
Daniel Robbins Childs, 71, of Noroton, Conn. and Nantucket, died Sunday, March 4, 2007 while on vacation on Grand Cayman Island. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated March 10 at Saint John's Church in Darien, Conn. followed by interment at the Lakeview cemetery on South Main Street in New Canaan, Conn.
John Shugrue, 65, of Nantucket, died Friday, March 2, 2007 on Nantucket. A graveside service was held Sunday, March 11 at the Catholic Cemetery, followed by a reception at Faregrounds Restaurant.
Jessica Martin-Mehringer, 35, of Nantucket, died Friday, March 2, 2007 at Nantucket Cottage Hospital from complications from ovarian cancer. A memorial service in celebration of her life was held March 18, 2007 at the Unitarian Church.
Willard H. Nickerson, 88, of Danvers, Mass. and formerly of Nantucket, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007 after a brief illness. A Funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 26 at St. Mary's Church in Danvers.
Donna MacPherson-Murphy, 56, of Glendale, Ariz. and formerly of Nantucket, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007 after a two year battle with cancer. A funeral service was held Feb. 26.
Irene A. Simpson, 81, of Warwick, R.I., formerly of Taunton, Mass. and a summer resident of Nantucket, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007 at the West Shore Health Center in Warwick after a lengthy illness. A funeral service was held on Feb. 23 in Taunton. Interment was in her family lot in St. Francis cemetery in Taunton on Feb. 22.

N. Thompson Powers, 77, of Phoenix, Ariz. and a long-time summer resident of Nantucket, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2007 at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in Grass Valley, Calif. of Parkinson's disease. A memorial service was held Feb. 3 in Washington, D.C.
Marjorie K. Bewkes, 79, of Vero Beach, Fla. and a long-time summer resident of Nantucket, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007 at home. No public services are planned at this time.
Barbara Ann (Potier) Grey, 76, of Lee, N.H. and Nantucket, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital after a long battle with kidney disease. A memorial service was held in Lee Feb. 3. A memorial service on Nantucket is planned for June.
Robert L. Whelden, 56, of Falmouth, Mass. and a longtime Nantucket visitor, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007 after a lengthy illness. A funeral service was held Jan. 20 at St. Barnabus Episcopal Church in Falmouth. Interment was private.
John Rhodolphus Alger, 75, of Osterville, the father of Nantucket Town Moderator Sarah Alger, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007 after a brief illness. A memorial service was held Jan. 23, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Osterville.
James E. King, 87, of Nantucket, died Jan. 15, 2007 at Nantucket Cottage Hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services will be private.
Maureen M. Costello, 42, of Wilton, Conn. and a summer resident of Nantucket, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007 at home after a 10-year battle with liver disease. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Jan. 15 at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Wilton. Burial followed at Hillside cemetery in WIlton.
Edward J. Keelan, 84, of Dedham, Mass and Bal Harbour, Fla., and the co-owner of the Beachside Hotel in Nantucket, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Needham, Mass. Funeral services were held on Jan. 15, with a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Church in Dedham.
Jack Lee Hendrix, 84, of Key West, Fla. and formerly of Nantucket, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at his home in Key West. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
Olive E. Welton, 79, a life-long resident of Nantucket, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007. Burial was Monday, Jan. 15.
