WORCESTER - Vincent Rendina, 94, of 26 Robin Road, formenry of Astoria, New York, died Tuesday in UMASS Memorial Healthcare, 119 Belmont Street, after an illness.
His wife Sara (Santino) Rendina died in 2005
He was born in Barile Italy, son of the late Michaelarchanelo, and Maria (D'Auria) Rendina.
He worked as a cabinetmaker for many years.
He leaves an Nephew and Niece, Mr. & Mrs. Bart Ferreira, of Worcester.
His funeral services and burial wil be private.
Robert S. Smith
October 22, 1960 - February 2, 2006
AUBURN - Robert S. "Rob" Smith, Sr., 45, of 144 Wallace Avenue, Auburn died peacefully on Thursday, February 2nd at the VNA Hospice House at Coes Pond in Worcester after a long courageous battle with cancer.
He leaves his wife of 24 years, Shirleyann (Stebbins) Smith, his son, Robert S. Smith Jr., 19, his daughter, Alyssa Kay Smith, 15, his parents, John G. and Margaret H. "Sally" (Inglis) Smith of Auburn, his brother, Gordon and his wife, Shellie and their daughter, Kaylie of Denton, Texas. He also leaves his mother - in - law, Shirley Stebbins Sewell of New Brunswick, Canada and many friends and relatives throughout the United States and abroad. Rob graduated from Auburn High School with the Class of 1979.
Rob worked for 11 years as a roofer until taking a position in 1991 at Holy Cross College as a foreman in the Physical Plant Department. He was recognized with the Walter McCann Award and most recently with the Claire Burns Award for his work ethic and devotion to the college community.
He was a life long member of Saint Thomas Episcopal Church of Auburn where he loved his church family deeply and served as a junior warden.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Rob's family on Monday, February 6th from 4 - 7 P.M. in the Britton - Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 7th at 10 A.M. in Saint Thomas Episcopal Church, 35 School Street, Auburn. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn. Rob asks that instead of flowers, that you attend a church service of your choice in his memory. Robin (Martinez) Longstreet
November 12, 1927 - April 14, 2007
Shrewsbury - Robin Jean (Martinez) Longstreet, 79, of Round Table Road, Shrewsbury, formerly of West Roxbury, and Jamaica Plain,died Saturday in Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital after a period of declining health. She is survived by her daughter Darcy L. D'Urso, and her husband Joseph A., of Shrewsbury. She also leaves her two loving grandchildren, Chelsea, and Matthew, also of Shrewsbury. Robin's husband William A. Longstreet, died in March, 2006.
Robin was born in New Orleans, the daughter of the late Fiddis and EmmaJeanne (Gazzo) Martinez Ambuter. She graduated from the Choate School in Boston in 1945, and attended the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts.
Mrs. Longstreet was an active member of the Doric Docents, with whom she served as, President, Vice President, Coordinator of Lectures and Trips and official State House tour guide. She was also a member of the Tuesday Club of Jamaica Plain. She and her mother, Jeanne Ambuter, owned and operated Heritage Cooking, a test kitchen and food demonstration business.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 6 - 8 PM Wednesday, in the Britton - Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street.
Her funeral will be held at 10:00 AM in Saint Mark's Episcopal Church, 27 Main Street, Southborough. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
Olive G. (Davis) Salamo
December 31, 1921 - March 6, 2006
Auburn, Olive G. (Davis) Salamo, 84, of Stoneville Heights, a retired Elderly Out Reach Worker for the South Worcester Neighborhood Center, died peacefully, Monday, March 6, in Hermitage Nursing Home after a long illness.
Her husband of 37 years, Andrew J. Salamo, died in 1982. She leaves two daughters, Janet Salamo of Worcester and Kathy Salamo of Auburn, and several nieces and nephews.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of Andrew B. and Clara E. (Rice) Davis of Oxford. She lived in Worcester and Auburn most of her life.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 11 at St. Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford Street, Auburn. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester.
Susan M. Corazzini
July 18, 1958 - June 30, 2006
SHREWSBURY - Susan M. Corazzini, 47, of Williamsburg Court, Shrewsbury, died unexpectedly Friday, June 30th in her home.
She leaves her mother, Beverly (Prosser) Corazzini of Shrewsbury; six brothers, George E. Corazzini of Webster, David G. Corazzini, and Henry E. Corazzini both of Worcester, John W. Corazzini of Paxton, Michael A. Corazzini of Kalispell, Montana and Stephen P.Corazzini of Tucson, Arizona; three sisters, Mary Anne Corazzini of Staten Island, New York, Joanne M. Corazzini of Shrewsbury and Laurie A. Corazzini of Tucson, Arizona; also survived by 13 nieces and nephews, 2 grand nieces.
Susan was born in Worcester, daughter of the late George Corazzini, Jr. and had lived in Shrewsbury all of her life. She graduated from Shrewsbury High School in 1976 and then later received a Business Administration Degree from Becker Junior College.
Ms. Corazzini had worked as a Practice Manager for 4 years for the Fallon Clinic at both the North Lake Avenue, Worcester facility and the Holden facility. She previously spent 20 years working as a Unit Clerk at the UMass Medical Center - University Campus.
She was a member of Saint Anne's Parish in Shrewsbury.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Susan's funeral Mass that will be celebrated on Saturday, July 8th at 10 A.M. in Saint Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in the Corazzini family lot in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. George N. Tucker
May 9, 1921 - May 16, 2007
AUBURN, MA - George N. Tucker, of Auburn and formerly of Charlton, died Wednesday May 17th in the UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester, after an illness. Mr. Tucker had celebrated his 86th birthday on May 9th with his extended family in attendance.
He leaves his wife of 19 years, Marjorie (Stone) Smith Tucker; his two children, Daniel H. Tucker, III of Millbury, and Karen Potter of Warren; his sister, Robertine Fountain of Wilbraham; his four grandchildren, Cynthia Panzera of Westford, Jeremy Tucker of Littleton, Michael and Elizabeth Potter both of Warren, and his five great grandchildren, Samantha, Alexis, Makenzie, Joseph, and Zachary. He was predeceased by his first wife, Olive (Engstrand) Tucker, who died in 1981. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Daniel H. and Henrietta (Waldron) Tucker, and lived many years in Charlton before moving to Auburn. He graduated from the former Charlton High School. He proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the US Army Air Corps, stationed in the European Theater with the 379th Bomber Group.
Mr. Tucker worked for the Norton Company, Worcester for over 30 years before retiring. He was a life member of the Greenville Baptist Church, Leicester where he served on many committees. He was a longtime member of the choir and was an original member of the "Gospel Tones", a quartet which sang together for more than 20 years. He served as league secretary for the T & C Church Bowling League for 35 years, and was a past assistant secretary of the Worcester County Bowling Association. Mr. Tucker was a member and Past Commander of the Charlton American Legion Post 391, was a member and Past Master of the Charlton Grange # 92, and a member of the Southwest Pomona Lodge # 9. George and his first wife were also charter members of Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Shrewsbury.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, May 20th from 5 - 8 PM in the Britton - Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. A funeral service celebrating George's life will be held on Monday, May 21st at 11 AM in the Greenville Baptist Church, 674 Pleasant St., Leicester. Following cremation, private burial will be in Northside Cemetery, Charlton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greenville Baptist Church Music Fund, 674 Pleasant St., Leicester, MA 01524.
Violet A. (Benoit) Wright
October 31, 1943 - May 10, 2007
WORCESTER - Violet A. (Benoit) Wright, 63, of Webster, former 35 year resident of Auburn, died Thursday in St. Vincent's Hospital, after a spirited fight against cancer.
She is survived by her Husband of 44 years, Mr. George C. Wright, of Webster, and his Son David M. Wright and his wife, Evie , of Woodstock, CT, a daughter Christine A. Zecker and her husband Marc, of Worcester, five loving grandchildren; Nevin, Ian, and Katie George, of Woodstock, and Maggie, and Samuel Zecker, of Worcester.
She also leaves her adopted mother Melinda Weagle, of Shrewsbury.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Edward H. and Violet L. (Berthiaume) Benoit. She was educated in Shrewsbury schools and was a graduate of Shrewsbury High School. She grew up on Lake Quinsigamond; she is a survivor of the Tornado of 1953
Mrs. Wright worked for many years at the Fallon Clinic as a secretary; she had previously worked as a clerk at Sears.
Mrs. Wright was a member of the Auburn Lions and Lioness's Club for over 20 years; where she was a 4 time past president. She was a past chairman of the Auburn 4th of July Committee. She was also a member of St. Joseph's Church in Auburn.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday from 5 - 8 PM Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 6PM at St. Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford St. North.
Burial will be held at a time convenient to the family.
