NORTH BROOKFIELD - Frank G. Spooner, 88, formerly of 46 Ward St., a World War II veteran, died Wednesday, June 12, in Quaboag - on - the - Common Nursing Home, West Brookfield.

His wife, Geraldine (Jean) Spooner, died in 1989. He leaves a daughter, Linda S. Bell of West Brookfield. He was born in Spencer, son of Francis A. and Linda B. (Gardner) Spooner, and moved to North Brookfield in 1927. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Spooner worked at Norton Co. in Worcester, retiring in 1962. He also worked at the former Capital Yeast Co., West Brookfield; the former L.F. Harris Co. in Worcester, Western Auto, Kingsbury Heel, and the former Sibley Farms of Spencer.

He was a past master of North Brookfield Grange 132; a past deputy of the State Grange; a member of New Braintree Grange 170; member and past master of Meridian Sun Lodge; and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Capt. Albert H. Prouty Post 3439.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, in Pillsbury Funeral Home, 44 Gilbert St. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Calling hours, including a 7:30 p.m. Masonic service, will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 14, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Quaboag - on - the - Common Activity Department, PO Box 386, West Brookfield, MA 01585.

Goldie Roy Studley, 71

AUBURN - Goldie A. (White) Roy Studley, 71, of 5 Church St., Sutton, formerly of Auburn, died Tuesday, June 11, in Life Care of Auburn after an illness. Britton - Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St. (www.brittonfuneralhomes.com), is directing funeral arrangements, which are incomplete.

John D. Turner, 57

WORCESTER - John D. Turner, 57, of 8 Judith Road, died Tuesday, June 4, at home.

He leaves his wife of 32 years, Patricia (McLaughlin) Turner; a son, John R. Turner of Grafton; four sisters, Susan Lund of Mystic, Conn., Coralie H. Nideur of Holden, Phyllis Reynhout of North Kingston, R.I., and Jean Wright of Worcester; two brothers, George LaFleur of Gardner and Bernard LaFleur of Tacoma, Wash.; and two grandchildren. A sister, Louise Bjork, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Robert and Lillian (Grann) Turner, and graduated from Boys Trade School. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War.

Mr. Turner worked for Ackerly Communications. He was also a crane operator. He enjoyed carpentry and fishing.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8, in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Worcester Veterans Services, 50 Skyline Drive, Worcester, MA 01605.

Anthony Baldino, 21

WORCESTER - Anthony Baldino, 21, of 166 Heard St., died Saturday, June 8, in UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., is directing funeral arrangements, which are incomplete.

George D. Bibby, 73

FITCHBURG - George D. Bibby, 73, of 90 Highview St., a retired Army sergeant, died Thursday, June 6, in HealthAlliance Leominster Hospital, after a brief illness.

He leaves his wife of 25 years, Christine (Tupper) Bibby; a son, Randall Bibby of Millerstown, Md.; three grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. He was born in Charleston, W.Va., son of George D. and Randa (Anderson) Bibby, and lived several years in Ayer and 21 years in Fitchburg. He graduated from Charleston High School, and received an associate's degree from West Virginia University.

He served 30 years in the Army, retiring as a staff sergeant 1st class in 1978. While in the Army he served in Korea, Germany and Alaska, and two tours of duty in Vietnam. After retiring from the service, Mr. Bibby worked as an employment counselor for the Montachusett Employment and Training Commission in Gardner, and was a financial counselor for five years at Fort Devens.

He was a member of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, and volunteered at the Pat Brody Shelter for Cats in Lunenburg.

The graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours are 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 9, in Miles - Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pat Brody Shelter for Cats, PO Box 142, Lunenburg, MA 01462.

Florence A. Parker Cafarelli, 97

CLINTON - Florence A. (Wood) Parker Cafarelli, 97, formerly of Bigelow Gardens, Lancaster, and Washington Street, Clinton, a retired assembler, died Tuesday, June 4, in Coachlace Healthcare Center after an illness.

Her husband, Victor Cafarelli, predeceased her. She leaves two sons, Richard Parker of Leominster and Howard Parker of Ohio; a stepson, James Cafarelli of Natick; a stepdaughter, Judith Smith of St. Albans, Vt.; a sister, Alice Clish of Lancaster; 27 grandchildren; 47 great - grandchildren; 14 great - great - grandchildren; nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Her first husband, Earl Parker, a daughter, Marion Ellis, and three sons, Earl, James and Orrin Parker, predeceased her. She was born in Fairfield, Maine, daughter of Lester and Alice (Williams) Wood, and lived in Clinton most of her life. She attended schools in Maine.

Mrs. Cafarelli was an assembler for various manufacturers in the Clinton area until retiring. She enjoyed knitting, crochet and baking.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 7, in Robert J. McNally Funeral Home, 304 Church St. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Sterling. A calling hour is 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, June 7, in the funeral home.

Vincenzo L. Cetrino, 63

VENICE, Fla. - Vincenzo L. Cetrino, 63, of 640 Gloriosa Ave., formerly of Lunenburg, Mass., died Saturday, June 8, in Bon Secours Venice Hospital after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 40 years, Sandra M. (Ptak) Cetrino; three sisters, Ruth H. Lashua of Lunenburg, Doris E. Campbell of Fitchburg, Mass., and Eleanor M. Grillo of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; several nephews and nieces; grandnephews and grandnieces. A daughter, Cheryl Ann Fish, died in 1992; a son, Stephen V. Cetrino, died in 1966; a brother, John T. Cetrino died in 1977; a sister, Louise C. Laramie died in 2000; another sister, Mary Ann Cetrino, died in 1936; and a grandson also predeceased him. He was born in Fitchburg, son of Louis and Annie (Niskala) Cetrino, and lived 36 years in Lunenburg. He graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1957, and served three years in the Army as a military policeman in the U.S. and in Germany. He moved to Venice in 1999, but summered in Leominster, Mass.

Mr. Cetrino worked for several are businesses, including the former Caplin's of Fitchburg, the Clinton Press in Clinton, Mass., and the former Decatone of Westminster. He was a stationery engineer for the former Burbank Hospital, retiring in 1984 because of illness.

He was a former member of St. Anthony di Padua Church in Fitchburg, and was a longtime member of St. Boniface Church in Lunenburg.

The funeral will be held Thursday, June 13, from Lavery - Chartrand Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., Fitchburg, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Boniface Church, 817 Mass. Ave., Lunenburg. Burial will be in St. Bernard's cemetery in Fitchburg. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cheryl Ann (Cetrino) Fish Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Fidelity Co - operative Bank, 675 Main St., Fitchburg, MA 01420.

Therese E. Conway

WORCESTER - Therese E. (Gatto) Conway of Worcester, a retired business owner, died Friday, June 7, in Salisbury Nursing Home after an illness.

Her husband, Joseph T. Conway, died in 1999. She leaves two sisters, Rose L. Stolulonis and Lorraine C. Olson, both of Worcester; nephews and nieces. Five brothers, Thomas P., Frederick W., Francis E., Arthur B. and Joseph H. Gatto, and a sister, Mary R. Madonna, predeceased her. She was born in Auburn, daughter of Thomas P. and Alma L. (Darche) Gatto, and lived many years in Worcester.

Mrs. Conway owned Conway Realty for 15 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of Christ the King Church.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, June 11, from O'Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Ave. (www.oconnorbrothers.com), with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St. Entombment will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 10, in the funeral home.

Philip A. Demmon, 89

FITCHBURG - Philip A. Demmon, 89, of James Manor Rest Home, 222 South St., formerly of 147 Boutelle St., a World War II veteran, died Saturday, June 8, in HealthAlliance Leominster Hospital.

He leaves three sisters, Arlene Cross of Leominster, Isabel Demmon of Fitchburg and Priscilla Peterson of Agawam; nieces and nephews. He was born in Fitchburg, son of George C. and Lula (Page) Demmon. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II, serving with the 877th Bombardment Squadron on Saipan.

Mr. Demmon worked for Winthrop Scrap Metal Co., retiring several years ago. He enjoyed carpentry and landscaping.

Graveside services will be private in Forest Hill Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Aubuchon - Moorcroft Funeral Home, 132 Woodland St., is directing arrangements.

Carmella DiLiddo, 84

SHREWSBURY - Carmella "Kay" (Belsito) DiLiddo, 84, of 46 Harriet Ave., a retired seamstress, died Monday, June 3, in Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis, after a brief illness.

Her husband of 58 years, Joseph DiLiddo, died in 1998. She leaves a son, Robert D. DiLiddo of Shrewsbury; three brothers, Peter Belsito of Plymouth, Albert P. and Louis R. Belsito, both of Worcester; a sister, Gloria Kitt of Wilbraham; a granddaughter; a great - grandson; nieces and nephews. A brother, Joseph Belsito, and a sister, Mary Mello, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Salvatore and Caterina (Cappabianca) Belsito, and lived more than 48 years in Shrewsbury.

Mrs. DiLiddo was a seamstress for several manufacturers in the area, including Porro's Curtain Shop before retiring. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and the International Garment Workers Union.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 7, from Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., Worcester, with Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 640 Main St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 6, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Elder Services, 277 East Mountain St., Worcester, MA 01605.
