Altimani funeral

WORCESTER - The funeral for Frank A. "Tebo" Altimani, 90, of 124 Heywood St., who died Saturday, June 8, at home after an illness, will be held Wednesday, June 12, from Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel - St. Ann Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, in the funeral home.

His wife of 45 years, Rose M. (Groccia) Altimani, died in 1990. He leaves a brother, Albert A. Ettamarna of Worcester; a sister, Rose Gerdauskas of Worcester; nieces and nephews. A brother, Michael Altimani, predeceased him. He was an Army veteran of World War II and received two Purple Hearts for wounds suffered in the Normandy D - Day Invasion.

Mr. Altimani was a mason/bricklayer more than 50 years for the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers before retiring. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Disabled American Veterans and St. Stephen's Church Men's Club.

Dorothea L. Babineau

FITCHBURG - Dorothea L. (Spitzer) Babineau, 84, of 44 Eaton St., died Sunday, June 9, in the Highlands Longterm Care Center.

Her husband of 48 years, Alfred J. Babineau, died in 1983. She leaves three sons, Alfred J. Babineau Jr. of Boise, Idaho, and Ronald J. and David F. Babineau, both of Fitchburg; three daughters, Constance Cournoyer and Kathleen Deschamps, both of Fitchburg, and Dianne T. Babineau of Northboro; a sister, Frieda Couture of Leominster; 11 grandchildren; 13 great - grandchildren. A brother, Carl Spitzer, and three sisters, Emily Loescher, Molly Childs, and Elsie Berndt, predeceased her. She was born in Fitchburg, daughter of Henry and Mary (Rice) Spitzer.

Mrs. Babineau was a certified nursing assistant for many years at Burbank Hospital, and later worked at the Retirement Home at 30 Cedar St.

She enjoyed gardening, crafts, knitting, and crocheting. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.

The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 13, in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Vernon Street. Burial will be at a later date. Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, in Bosk Funeral Home, 85 Blossom St. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Anthony F. Baldino, 21; victim of auto accident

WORCESTER - Anthony F. Baldino, 21, of 166 Heard St., died Saturday, June 8, in UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus from injuries suffered in an automobile accident on Webster Street.

He leaves his parents, Francis and Marianne (Parslow) Baldino of Worcester; a brother, David E. Baldino of Worcester; a sister, Melissa A. Baldino of Worcester; his paternal grandmother, Grace (Carbone) Baldino of Worcester; and his maternal grandparents, David and Anne (Putis) Parslow of the Cherry Valley section of Leicester. He was born in Worcester. He graduated from St. Peter - Marian High School in 1998 and received a bachelor's degree in sociology from Worcester State College in May.

Mr. Baldino was a manager/

ackage handler for Federal Express Corp., Auburn, the past four years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church, a former altar server and member of the children's choir. While at St. Peter - Marian High, he was active in hockey, baseball and track. He played hockey in the Midstate League and baseball for Ty Cobb and Southside Babe Ruth leagues. He was a music and baseball fan.

The funeral will be held Thursday, June 13, from Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701; or to Children's Hospital, Children's Trust, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115.

Paul M. Beaudet, 57

WORCESTER - Paul M. Beaudet, 57, of 24 Michigan Road, an Army veteran, died Friday, June 7, at home.

He was born in Worcester, son of Paul and Margaret (Henighan) Beaudet. He graduated from St. Peter's High School in 1963, and he served in the Army.

Mr. Beaudet was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 13, from Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 23 Fales St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Clinton. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, in the funeral home.

William Belcher III, 64

MARLBORO - William F. Belcher III, 64, of Marlboro, a Marine Corps veteran, died Thursday, June 6, in Metrowest Healthcare Center in Framingham after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 43 years, Eivor "Ava" E. (Skylberg) Belcher; a son, William F. Belcher IV of Raymond, N.H.; four daughters, Karen J. Turcotte of Marlboro, Yvonne M. Awada of Dearborn, Mich., Lisa A. Adams of Watertown and Michele B. Belcher of Boston; a brother, Michael B. Belcher of Lynn; a sister, Margaret T. Dalessio of Woburn; nine grandchildren; and two great - grandchildren. He was born in Boston, son of William F. and Margaret (Kearney) Belcher Jr., and had lived in Marlboro for many years. He graduated in 1955 from Somerville High School, and attended Northeastern University and Framingham State College. He received an honorary degree from Framingham State College in May. He served in the Marine Corps for three years, reaching the rank of sergeant.

Mr. Belcher was a senior financial analyst for more than 42 years at Raytheon Corp., retiring this year. He was a member and past president of the Raytheon Management Club, a member of the board of directors, a coach, and treasurer of the Marlboro Youth Baseball Association, a former coach of the Marlboro Youth Hockey Association, a member of the Toastmasters Club of Raytheon Corp., and a former member of the Somerville Sons of Italy. He was also a board member of the Marlboro Evening of Giving for seven years, and an active fund - raiser and participant of the Raytheon Corp. United Way.

The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, from John P. Rowe Funeral Home Inc., 57 Main St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 10, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association, 2720 River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60018; or to the Jimmy Fund, c/o Janice Brown, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place, West - 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445.

Marie Ange Belisle, 87

WEBSTER - Marie Ange (Morse) Belisle, 87, of 85 Park Ave., died Tuesday, June 11, in Hubbard Regional Hospital. Scanlon Funeral Service, East Main Street, is directing funeral arrangements, which are incomplete.

WORCESTER - Annette M. (Ricci) Bisceglia, 78, of 40 Nelson Place, a retired store manager, died Tuesday, June 4, at home after an illness.

Her husband, John T. Bisceglia, died in 1977. She leaves a daughter, DebraAnn Amend, with whom she lived; a brother, Frank Ricci of Worcester; a sister, Anna Papagni of Worcester; a granddaughter; nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Sabatino and Theresa (Ridolfi) Ricci, and graduated from Commerce High School and Worcester Junior College.

Mrs. Bisceglia was store manager eight years for the former Touraines Women's Shop before retiring. She previously owned and operated the Clothes Tree Store in West Boylston.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, and volunteered many years for its Outreach program. She was a member of the Eastside Post 201 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

The funeral will be held Saturday, June 8, from the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St. (www.mercadantefuneral.com), with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel - St. Ann Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. A calling period will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, in the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Worcester Firefighters Relief Association, Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605.

Claire M. Brunell, 68

STURBRIDGE - Claire M. (Jarry) Brunell, 68, of 118 Vista Lane, formerly of Southbridge, died Wednesday, June 12, in Webster Manor after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 50 years, Norman O. Brunell; four sons, Laurent L. Brunell of Southbridge, Donald N. Brunell of Palm Harbor, Fla., David R. Brunell of Sturbridge and Brian B. Brunell of Warren; two sisters, Jean Burlingame of Charlton and Marie Poulin of Sturbridge; and 10 grandchildren. She was born in Bedford, daughter of Laurent and Irene (Delisle) Jarry, and had lived in Southbridge before moving here in 1986. She graduated from the former Mary E. Wells High School in Southbridge.

Mrs. Brunell was a member of Notre Dame Church.

The funeral will be held Friday, June 14, from Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Notre Dame Church, 446 Main St., Southbridge. Burial will be in New Notre Dame cemetery in Southbridge. A calling hour will be 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 14, in the funeral home.

Dr. John J. Burke

LONGMEADOW - Dr. John J. Burke of 24 Tabor Crossing, died Wednesday, June 5, at home.

His wife of 49 years, Mary C. Burke, predeceased him. He leaves two sons; five daughters, including Dr. Mary C. Burke and Nancy E. Mayo, both of Southboro, and Julie Freniere of Paxton; two sisters; grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Dr. Burke was a surgeon at hospitals in Providence and Holyoke, and was on staff at the Holyoke Soldiers Home.

The funeral will be held at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, June 8, from James P. Hobert & Sons Funeral Home, Holyoke, with Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, Holy Cross Way, Holyoke. Burial will be in St. Jerome Cemetery. Calling hours are from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 7, in the funeral home. Russell W. Burke, 74

UPTON - Russell W. Burke, 74, of 81A Grove St., a World War II veteran, died Monday, June 10, in Milford - Whitinsville Hospital after being stricken ill at home.

He leaves his wife of 49 years, Barbara E. (Hilliard) Burke; two sons, Francis J. Burke of Millville and James M. Burke of Lagrange, Maine; a brother, Donald E. Burke of Norwalk, Conn.; a sister, Patricia H. Harney of Falmouth; two grandchildren. A brother, Richard F. Burke, died last year. He was born in Worcester, son of Walter L. and Helena V. (Russell) Burke, and lived in Auburn before moving here nearly 50 years ago. He graduated from Auburn High School, and was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Mr. Burke was the owner and president of the Kitchen Center of Framingham for more than 20 years, retiring in 1988. He had previously worked as advertising manager for the former Sawyer Lumber Co. in Worcester. A professional tournament bass fisherman, he was a co - founder of Bay State Bassmasters, which he served as president and secretary; a co - founder, secretary, and treasurer of the Massachusetts B.A.S.S. Federation; and a member of Classic Bassmasters of Maine. He owned and operated Stoney Grove Kennels for many years and was a delegate to the Beagle Advisory Committee of the American Kennel Club. A charter member, president, and secretary of the Central Massachusetts Beagle Club, he was also a co - founder and charter member of the Eastern Association of Beagle Clubs and the Northeast Federation of Beagle Clubs. He was a pitcher for the Upton Men's Softball League, and a member of Holy Angels Parish.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 14, from Williams - Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church, Milford Street. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 13, in the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Upton Ambulance Fund, Box 29, Upton, MA 01568; or to the Upton Police Association Fishing Derby, 30 School St., Upton, MA 01568.

Eric E. Bylund, 71

AUBURN - Eric E. Bylund, 71, of 5 Bylund Drive, a retired letter carrier, died Tuesday, June 4, at home after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 50 years, Joyce F. (Publicover) Bylund; a son, Steven E. Bylund of Auburn; a daughter, Debra J. Fegreus of Auburn; a brother, Robert Bylund of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; a sister, Margaret Schiltz of Auburn; four grandsons; nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Bertel and Conrad Bylund, predeceased him. He was born in Auburn, son of J. Magnus and Agda (Scott) Bylund, and graduated from Auburn High School in 1949. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and served several years with the Massachusetts Army National Guard.

Mr. Bylund was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Worcester for 30 years, retiring in 1987. He was also a carpenter and a real estate agent. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Chester P. Tuttle American Legion Post 279 and the Skogsblomman Society in Auburn. He was a charter member of the Auburn Elks. He enjoyed boating, music and sports.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 6, in Bethel Lutheran Church, 90 Bryn Mawr Ave. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, in Britton - Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St.

Leland V. Carlson, 88

STURBRIDGE - Leland V. Carlson, 88, of Trail Road, Fiskdale and Pompano Beach, Fla., retired sales representative, died Tuesday, June 4, in Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge, after a short illness.

His wife, Paula (McDaniel) Carlson, died in 1987. He leaves three daughters, Loretta Carlson Lustig of West Palm Beach, Fla., Leslie Motto of St. Helena, Calif., and Dennise Hamphill of Oakland, Calif.; a brother, Byron Carlson of New Fairfield, Conn., and Boca Grande, Fla.; and five grandchildren. He was born in Olsburg, Kan., son of C. Louis and Blenda (Dahlstrom) Carlson, and lived many years in Manchester, Conn., and Fiskdale. He graduated from Topeka (Kan.) High School and received an engineering degree from Kansas State University, where he excelled in football, baseball and basketball.

Mr. Carlson was the New England representative for Acushnet Processing Co., New Bedford, for 35 years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, the Elks Lodge and the Masons. He enjoyed cruises, fishing, golf and dancing.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 10, in Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy St., Southbridge. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
