Tregre

Pearl G. Tregre of Des Allemands died on July 27. She was 80 years old.

She is survived by her sons, Ray Olivier and his wife Joyce and Kenneth Olivier, daughter Daisy Voros and her husband Jack, brothers Joseph, Johnny and Richard Gaudet, sister Florence G. Bonnette and grandchildren David and Chance Voros and Alex and Jessica Olivier.

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles A. Olivier by her first marriage, husband James E. “Red” Tregre by second marriage, parents Sylvester and Daisy Guidry Gaudet, brother Earl Gaudet and sisters Ruth G. Washam and Theresa Gaudet.

A Memorial Service was held on Aug. 3 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan, followed by burial at St. Charles Cemetery.

Tschantz

Mildred Fabacher Tschantz died July 15 of complications from Alzheimer's disease at her home. She was 83.

Mrs. Tschantz was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past 51 years. She was a parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene W. Tschantz Sr.; a son, Eugene W. Tschantz Jr. of Atlanta; a daughter, Karen T. Clements of Destrehan; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A Mass was said Monday. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery No. 1.

Alexander

Hubert “Alec” Alexander, a retired Production Technician at American Cyanimid “Cytec”, died at his home on Aug. 22. A native of Carrolton, Ala. and a resident of Luling for the past 50 years, he was 76.

He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force as a navigator.

He was preceded in death by parents, Hubert, Sr. and Elizabeth Nettles Alexander; and son, Duane Rabalais Alexander. He is survived by his wife, Delores Rabalais Alexander; son Rickie Alexander; daughters Darlena Buras, Stephanie Delatte and Kris Garcia; sister Elizabeth Pennington; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Visitation was held on Friday and will be held today from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco. Funeral services will be today at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. D. Shane Dismuke officiating. Entombment in the St. Charles Mausoleum in Luling. H.C. Alexander Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Barr

Marsha Morton Barr, a native of Hazard, Ky and resident of Luling, died on Aug. 16. She was 52 years old.

Mrs. Barr was raised in Pearl, Miss. and lived in Luling for 22 years. She was a dedicated volunteer for school and youth sports organizations and served as a member or officer of several PTAs and sports booster clubs. She was named St. Charles Rotary Club Citizen of the Year for 2005 in recognition of her years of service to the community.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis E. Barr, son Stephen A. Barr, daughter Shelby L. Barr, brother Mike Kunst of Palm Springs, Ca., sister Deanne Butler of Florence, Miss., and nieces Michelle Harvey of Lakewood, Ca. and Melinda Sifford of Phoenix, Ariz.

A visitation was held at Mothe Funeral Home in Marrero on Aug. 18, followed by funeral services. Donations in her memory may be made to the St. Charles Parish Recreation Department.

Brown

Virgil Brown, a native of Kentwood and resident of Ama, died on Aug. 1. He was 75 years old.

He was husband of Beatrice Zeringue Brown, son of the late William and Alma Dillon Brown, father and father-in-law of Wanda and Walter Hebert of Ama, Delcie and Ron Adams of Hahnville, Wade Brown and Ricky Brown of Ama, brother and brother-in-law of Kelly Brown of Gonzales, Leo Ricks of Boliver and the late Delcie Hyde, Maxine Ricks and Zula Walls. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were held on Aug. 3 at Bible Center church in Luling, followed by burial at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Taft.

Charles

Lydia Marie Williams Charles, a retired school bus driver, died on Aug. 15 at her home in St. Rose of cardiac arrest. She was 66. Ms. Charles was born in New Orleans and lived in St. Rose for 48 years.

She is survived by her two sons, Wilfred Lincoln Charles Jr. of Breaux Bridge and Chester Charles of Dallas; five daughters, Valerie Williams, Lynette Charles, Donna Woolford of Dallas, Sharon Kelly of Kenner and Sherry Stephen of Jacksonville, Fla.; four stepsons, Herman Charles, Arthur Lee Jones, Lynell Charles and Everette Euguene; a stepdaughter, Bonnie Marbley; a brother, Rufus Williams of Destrehan; two sisters, Mary Louise Davis of Long Beach, Calif., and Doris Marbley; 38 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A funeral was held on Aug. 19 at at Mount Zion Baptist Church, in St. Rose. followed by burial in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Clulee

Lionel Clulee, a commercial fisher, died on Aug. 14 of a heart attack at St. Charles Parish Hospital in Luling. He was 63.

Mr. Clulee was born in Gheens and lived in Boutte for 16 years. He is survived by his wife, Janice Terrebonne Clulee; two sons, Bryce Joseph Clulee and Brad Fenton Clulee; a daughter, Loni Ann Clulee Monot; two brothers, Charles Clulee Jr. and Neal Joseph Clulee; and two sisters, Marlene Clulee Savoie and Jo Ann Clulee Schexnayder.

A service was held on Aug. 15 at the Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home. Burial will be private.

Dasch

Daris David “Big D” Dasch, Jr., a native and resident of Paradis, died on Aug. 2. He was 47 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Detillier Dasch, father Daris D. Dasch Sr., daughter Merielle Ray, sister Audrey Lancaster and three grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lucy Dempster Dasch, and brother, Kenny Dasch.

A memorial service was held on Aug. 4 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Paradis.

Davis

Yvonne Colly Davis, a retired bus driver with the St. Charles Parish public school system, died on Aug. 4 of respiratory failure at Life Care Hospital. She was 58 years old.

Mrs. Davis was born in New Orleans and lived in Boutte. She is survived by her son, Ricky Sandolph; three daughters, Andrea Reynolds, Shelly Young and Sonya Cummings; her mother, Eula Mae Sandolph Thorne; and grandchildren Kelly Mott, Theron and Terrell Batiste, Shamira Williams, Rakia Sandolph, Andrew Reynolds, Aquail Jackson and Misha Ferdinant. She is preceded in death by her father, Hewitt Colly.

A funeral was held on Aug. 8 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Boutte, followed by burial at Mt. Airy Memorial Park.

Dewhirst

Tracy Beck Dewhirst, a native of Luling and resident of Raliegh, N.C., died on August 6 from injuries sustained by a brain aneurysm. She was 31 years old.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Dewhirst and daughters, Kelsey and Cheyenne Dewhirst along with her mother, Denise Beck; father, Robert Beck and sister, Sheri Beck. Tracie, a graduate of Hahnville High School, lived with her husband and two daughters in Sanford, N.C.

She will be deeply missed by all. Services were held Aug. 11 at Lafayette Funeral Home located at 6651 Raeford Road in Fayetteville, N.C.

Dominique

Gary Joseph Dominique, a native and resident of Gheens, died on Aug. 30. He was 60 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Bychurch Dominique, sons John Dominique and wife Mary Klibert Dominique and Carlo Dominique, brother Peter Joseph Dominique, sisters Delta D. Orgeron and Emma D. Foret and grandchildren Jared Michael Dominique and Nicole Ann Dominique. He is preceded in death by his parents, Felix Joseph and Madeline Josephine Orgeron Dominique and sisters Elvira Comardelle and Dorothy Dupre.

Mr. Dominique was a member of the Gheens Volunteer Fire Department, Third Degree Knights of Columbus Council #3054 (Project Leader), was a project leader for the Gheens Rec. Center, worked with the Gheens Community Center and Gheens Library Committee and was on the board of directors for Lafourche Fire District #2. He was retired from Dow Chemical.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sept. 23 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Gheens, followed by burial at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.

Dupleix

Mae Del Langlinais Dupleix, a native of Youngsville and a resident of Destrehan died on Aug. 23 in Destrehan. She was 85.

She was the wife of Pierre Alcide Dupleix of Destrehan’ daughter of the late Hazard and Devienne Reaux Langlinais; mother of of Gloria Roman of Pass Christian, Miss., Marilyn Duffy of Destrehan, Rhonda Sutton of Gramercy, Keith Dupleix of New Orleans and James Dupleix of Destrehan; sister of Rosa Belle Cabral of Falmouth, Mass., Brenda Vincent of Houston, Texas and the late Lucille Foreman and Lee Roy Langlinais. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Daughters and a former Eucharistic Minister in Youngsville.

A mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan. Interment was in the church mausoleum. Visitation was held at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco on Thursday and Friday at St. Charles Borromeo. Pallbearers were Davven Duffy, Earl James Alleman, III, Rodney Fuhrmann, Jr., Ernest Fuhrmann, Matthew Alleman, Pierre Dupleix and Blake Alleman. H.C. Alexander Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Gordon

Earl Gordon, a native and resident of Luling, died on Aug. 9 at Luling Living Center. He was 70 years old.

He was the son of the late Alice LeBeauf and Romalis Gordon, husband of Rose Mary Gordon, brother of Charles, Amelia and Francis Gordon, Mathilda Singleton, Willie Mae Taylor, Eva Adams, Brenda Fuller and the late Lawrence, Alvin, August and Romalis Gordon. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, seven brothers-in-law, seven sisters-in-law, two godchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held at Bell Baptist Church in Luling on Aug. 15. Burial was at Bethlehem Cemetery in Hahnville.

Gulledge

Goldie G. Gulledge, a native and resident of Luling died on August 31. She was 91.

She was the wife of the late Robert J. Gulledge, Sr. and was preceeded in death by parents Robert and Susan Melinda Bear Gardener. She is survived by son Robert J. Gulledge, Jr., daughter Bobbie Nell Chaisson, 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Visitation and a religious service was held on Friday at First Baptist Church in Luling. Interment was in St. Charles Cemetery in Luling. Falgout Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

Huster

Cynthia Jean Huster, a native of Lorain, Ohio and resident of Destrehan, died on Aug. 3 of breast cancer at University Hospital. She was 53.

Mrs. Huster was a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a bachelor's degree in education. She was a former elementary school teacher. Survivors include her husband, James F. Huster; a son, Brian J. Huster; a daughter, Kelly A. Huster; her parents, Robert and Irene Pastron of Fairborn, Ohio; and two sisters, Kathleen Nill of Centerville, Ohio, and Janet Rebechini of Long Grove, Ill.

A Mass was said on Aug. 8 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan, followed by burial in the church mausoleum.

Isolani

Joseph John Edwin Isolani, M.D., a native of New Orleans and resident of St. Charles Parish since 1951, died on Aug. 4. He was 82 years old.

He was the beloved husband of the late Leila Cora “Lee” Lioutza, father of Jovonna Gegenheimer (husband Reuben), Joseph John Edwin Isolani Jr. (wife Mary Jewell) and Anita Kasper (husband David). He was son of the late Paul Isolani and Rose Sita Isolani, nephew of the late Johnny, Tony and Frank Sita, loving uncle of Norma Baker and James Joseph Hughes III. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of loving cousins.

Dr. Isolani graduated from Fortier High School in New Orleans at the age of 16, was an undergraduate of LSU in Baton Rouge and completed his medical studies at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. He was one of the first general practice physicians in St. Charles Parish and was the first Chief of Staff of St. Charles Parish Hospital. Dr. Isolani specialized in pediatric medicine in 1958 and served as the only pediatrician in West St. Charles Parish for many years. He also served as a captain in the U.S. Army.

A Funeral Mass was held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling on Aug. 6, followed by interment at St. Charles Mausoleum in Luling. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the New Port Richey Marine Institute, 5324 Sunset Road, New Port Richey, FL 34652 or to Concern Care Hospice, 1800 Carol Sue Ave., Suite 2., Gretna, LA 70056.

LeBlanc

Ida Tastet LeBlanc, a homemaker, died on Aug. 14 at the home of her daughter in Nine Mile Point, La. She was 92.

Beloved wife of George LeBlanc and the late Lester LeBlanc, Sr. by first marriage. Mother of Betty Savoie and the late Lester “Bobby” LeBlanc, Jr., Lutie “Lou” Verda, Manfred LeBlanc, Carol “Catty” Alvarez, and Marvin LeBlanc. Mother-in-law of the late Warren “Foot” Savoie, Clarice “Sis” LeBlanc, Leon Verda, Leonore LeBlanc, Steve Alvarez and Shirley LeBlanc. Daughter of the late William and Valerie Danos Tastet. Sister of Donald Tastet, Gertrude Rhyan-Terrebonne, and the late Paul, Roy, Earl, Floyd, Donald, and Roland Tastet, Enola Foret, Florence Breaux, and Lucille Tastet. survived by 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 9 great, great grandchildren. A native of Raceland and a resident of Des Allemands for 75 years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services at Des Allemands Mennonite Church, 17447 Old Spanish Trail, Des Allemands, today at 11 am. Interment: Des Allemands Mennonite cemetery. Visitation was held on on Aug. 16 at Mothe Funeral Home in Marrero funeral services were held on Aug. 17 at the Mennonite Church.

Lewis

Hubert Lewis Jr., a native of Vacherine and resident of Boutte, died on Aug. 16. He was 76 years old.

He is son of the late Hubert Lewis Sr. and Annie Stevens Smith, husband of the late Irene Lewis, father of Vanessa (John Van Buren) Lewis, Sharon Williams, Sheila Sandolph, Atheta Pardo, Deborah (Myron Mott Sr.) Lewis and Lisa (Dedrick Sr.) Coleman; and brother of Juanita L. Harris, Geraldine Kelly, Milton Lewis and the late Leroy Lewis Sr.

A funeral service was held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Boutte on Aug. 22, followed by burial at Interment Providence Cemetery in Metairie.
