Linda Lewis Collins
(Died July 11, 1999)
MANDEVILLE - Linda Lewis Collins, died Sunday at the age of 48, at her residence. She was a native of Mullins, SC, former resident of Bogalusa and a resident of Mandeville. She graduated from Bogalusa High School and Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX. She is survived by one son, Jeffrey R. Thompson of Starkville, MS; mother, Ellarose Salmen Sullivan of Mandeville; and two brothers, Frederick N. Lewis of Slidell and Lee S. Carden of New York, NY.
She was preceded in death by her father, Norton M. Lewis.
A private family Inurnment will be held at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery
of Slidell.
St. Tammany Hospice preferred, in lieu of flowers.
Era Smith Beck
(Died July 13, 1999)
FRANKLINTON - Era Smith Beck, died yesterday at Heritage Manor, at the age of 91. She was a retired telephone operator and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one brother, James Smith of Natchez, MS; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Ray Smith; five brothers Percy Smith, Victor Smith, Nathan Smith, Abney Smith and Murphy Smith.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time. Crain Funeral Home is in charge.
Ronald Martin
(Died August 4, 1999)
DEXTER, MS Funeral services for Ronald Martin, age 41, will be held tomorrow 10 a m at Capps Funeral Home with the Rev James Messer and the Rev Wayne Cook officiating.
Visitation will be held today, from 4:30 p m until 10 p m at Capps Funeral Home in Tylertown.
Burial will follow in Brooks-Martin Cemetery
of Washington Parish.
Ronald Martin was the owner of Martin's Tree Service.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Martin.
Survivors include, his mother, Grace Freeman Martin; his wife, Gracelyn Ann Harvey Martin of the Dexter community; one son, Michael Carter of Tylertown; one daughter of Leighanna Carter of Morgantown, MS; stepchildren, La-Lania Buxton and Lawrence Ruiz, Jr , of Pearl River, LA, and Jessie Freeman of Tylertown; two grandsons; three step granddaughters and one step- grandson; brothers, J C Martin of Pine and Ralph Martin of Bogalusa; Special Brother-in-law, Willie Jones, Tylertown; two sisters, Janice Kenmar of Tylertown and Mavis Barber of Franklinton; special cousin, Tommy Freeman of Sandy Hook and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers include, Rusty Jones, Wilson Edward Jones, and Scottie Martin Honorary pallbearer is Michael Corroa.
Mildred Eva Pace Penton
(Died July 7, 1999)
PINE - Mildred Eva Pace Penton, age 78, and a resident of the Pine community, died Wednesday at the Riverside Medical Center. She was a member of the Crain's Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Jerry Penton and Rickey Penton both of Pine; one daughter, Mrs. J.C. (Betty) Martin of Pine; four sisters, Wilena Roddy of Pine, Mildred Spears of Carriere,MS, Ruth Hopkins of Bogalusa, and Audine Strong of Marshall, TX; 11 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delos Penton; three sons, D.J. Penton, Garruice "Cricket" Penton, and Robert Ray "Bobby" Penton.
Visitation will be at the Crain Funeral Home today from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Friday.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the funeral home chapel with the Eld. John Innabnit and the Eld. Willie J. Passman officiating. interment will follow in the Pace Cemetery.
Letha Speights Keller
(Died July 30, 1999)
BOGALUSA - Funeral services for Letha Speights Keller, age 99, will be held Friday at 7 p m at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev Dr Aaron J Thompson officiating.
Dismissal will be Saturday at 8 a m .
Visitation will be Friday from 1 until 5 p m at the funeral home.
interment will be at Duffy Memorial Garden Cemetery
under the direction of Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa.
She is survived by three daughters, Ida Mae Smith and Sadie K Marshall both of Bogalusa, and Leaudria K. Miller of New Orleans; two sons Curtis Martin and Eugene Keller both of Bogalusa; one son-in-law, Samuel L Miller III of New Orleans; 40 grandchildren; 71 great grandchildren; 17 great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Tera Sumrall Luper
(Died August 3, 1999)
POPLARHEAD - Tera Luper a resident of the Poplarhead community died Tuesday at the Riverside Medical Center.
She was a member of the Poplarhead Missionary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home from 5 p m until 10 p m Wednesday and will continue at the Poplarhead Missionary Baptist Church after 8 a m Thursday until time for the funeral service at 10 a m in the church with the Eld Willie J. Passman officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was preceded by her husband, Charlie Luper; one sister, Lela Luper and two brothers Wayne and Jewell Sumrall.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Lucille and Richard Wade of Franklinton; one granddaughter, Jamie Wade of Franklinton; one great grandson; and three brothers, Hillary Sumrall, Willie Sumrall and Jessie Sumrall, Jr all of Franklinton.
Francis D. W. 'Bill' Beatty
(Died August 24, 1999)
NEW ROADS Francis D. W. "Bill" Beatty, a retired cattleman and a resident of Ventress, died Tuesday in Pointe Coupee General Hospital, New Roads.
He was 84 and a native of New Roads.
He is survived by six daughters, Marie "Tot" Lacoste of Morganza, Susan Robinson, Margaret Sadden Madelin "Tuna" Harnage, all of Baton Rouge, Marline "Nue" Dickinson and Bridget Glaviano, both of Ventress; two sons, James Francis Beatty of Franklinton, and Francis D. W. "Jug" Beatty Jr. of Ventress; a sister Henrietta "Sis" Ortis of Ventress; 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Mildred Hebert Beatty; parents, Mr and Mrs. Joseph W. Beatty; and a brother, Henry "Bud" Beatty Pallbearers will be grandsons, Sidney Lacoste II, Michael, Stephen and Jason Sadden, Jim Beatty, Jr. , Jonas, John and Bryan Beatty, Ryan Dickinson and Joey Harnage.
Visitation was held yesterday at Niland's Funeral Home, New Roads, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and continued today from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
The religious services is being held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 11 a.m. today, conducted by the Rev Mike Schatzie. interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Felton Eddie Foster Sr.

BOGALUSA - Funeral arrangements have been completed for Felton Eddie Foster Sr , age 51, a resident of 25655 Recreation Road, Angie, who died last Saturday in Lakeview Regional Medical Center, Covington.
Visitation will be held tomorrow from 2 to 5 p m at Crain and Sons Funeral Home, Bogalusa.
A wake service will be held from 7 to 9 p m tomorrow in the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p m at the church with the Rev Dr Alfonso Nelson, pastor, officiating. interment will follow in the Foster Cemetery

BOGALUSA - Funeral arrangements have been completed for Emily L. Case May, age 81, a resident of Bogalusa, who died Wednesday at Northoaks Medical Center, Hammond.
Visitation will be held today from 5 p m to 9 p m at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home and will continue from 9 a m tomorrow until the funeral service in the Poole-Ritchie Chapel at 2 p.m.
The Rev. Ron Witcher will officiate, with interment in Ponemah Cemetery
in Bogalusa.
A member of Pettitt Memorial Baptist Church, Mrs. May is survived by her husband, Ralph L. May; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Frances May and Brenda Gail May and Donnie Saraceno, all of Bogalusa; one son and a daughter-in-law, Robert M and Bonnie May of Mandeville; four grandchildren, Jason Robert May of Hattiesburg, MS, Adam Lee and Sarah May of Mandeville; Richelle Phillips and Jason Richardson of Isabel, Summer Paige Saraceno of Bogalusa, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son Ralph E. May, and by three brothers, Julious Case, J. C. Case and Marcus Case.

BOGALUSA - Funeral arrangements have been completed for Joseph Edward "J. E." Pounds, age 74, a resident of Bogalusa, who died yesterday at Northshore Regional Medical Center in Slidell.
Visitation will be today from 5-10 p m at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home, where the funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m.
The Revs. Ed Jenkins and Tom Patterson will officiate jointly.
interment will be held at Pounds Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Pearla Maxine Pounds of Bogalusa; one daughter, Connie Marie Lott of Little Rock, Arkansas; one son, William O. Pounds of Bogalusa; one sister Mrs. B. E. "Juanita" Pounds Talley of Covington, 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Emelda Green, and two brothers, William H. Pounds and Walter B. Pounds.

BOGALUSA - Funeral arrangements have been completed for Hosey B. Young, age 73, a resident of 538 Austin Street, Bogalusa, who died Sunday in Lakeview Regional Medical Center, Covington. He was a former resident of New Orleans.
Visitation will be tomorrow after 2 p m at the Crain and Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Saturday at the Brown Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Smithdale, MS from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m.
The Rev. Skipper Cain will officiate, with interment following in the Brown Chapel Cemetery
at McComb.
He is survived by his wife, Bobby Young of Bogalusa; a son, Edgar Young of New Orleans; three brothers, Carl (Rosia) Gene Young, Clifton (Lottie) Young and Johnny Young, all of McComb; four sisters, Ernestine Berry Young of New Orleans, Nina Mae Jackson of McComb, Hilda Julian of Baton Rouge and Ella Ruth Young of Smithdale He was also the brother-in-law of Joel and Carolyn Miller of Bogalusa and Jerry and Lillian Galloway of New Orleans; special nieces, Carol Miller of Bogalusa and Linda Ray of McComb; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Young; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isreal (Mattie) Young.
