Bridges
Ever Bridges, 88
Funeral services for Ever Lesper Kirkham Bridges, 88, of Jonesboro were held May 23 at the Sweetwater Baptist Church with the Revs. Stuart Toms and Gene Cumpton officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Mariah Cemetery
in Arcadia. Mrs. Bridges died May 21 at Forest Haven Nursing Center. Born July 28, 1914 in Bienville, she was a housewife. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Roy W. Bridges.
She is survived by five daughters, Janice Brown and husband R.E. of North Hodge, Iriece Simpson and husband Bob of North Hodge, Sue Denton and husband Don of Quitman, Brenda Robison and husband Cleeve of Monroe, Joanie Howard and husband Randy of Quitman; son: William Dan Bridges and wife Opal of Jonesboro; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of the Sweetwater Baptist Church.
Pallbearers were Gary Brown, Chris Howard, Tony Howard, Kevin Hobson, Heath Brown and Jim Atkins.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.
Broomfield
Lorene Broomfield, 84
Mrs. Lorene Johns Jeter Broomfield went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on May 24, 2003. Funeral services for Mrs. Broomfield, 84, of Dodson were held May 27 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Bill Strawbridge, Craig Ferguson and Danny Jackson officiating. Burial followed in the Gayla Traina Cemetery.
She died May 24 at her home. Born March 10, 1919 in New Hope, she was a postal employee. She was preceded in death by her parents Wesley and Ione Johns.
She is survived by her husband, W.A. “Jack” Broomfield of Dodson; daughters, Hazel Jackson and husband Horace of Baton Rouge and Carolyn Holloway and husband Hollis of Shreveport; son, Stanford Ferguson and wife Cynthia of Prattville, Ala.; brother, Leon Johns of Jonesboro; sisters, Ruby Watson of Downey, Calif., Mary Eloise Roesemeier of Jonesboro, Tommie Reed of New Orleans and Gloria Kelly of Jonesboro; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Butch Ligon, Eric Ferguson, Conrad Broomfield, Richard Broomfield, Delton Carpenter, John Cofskey, Trent Tatum and Jody Traina.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.
Compton
Lillie Compton, 89
Funeral services for Lillie Belle Compton, 89, of Jena were held at the Jonesboro Cemetery
on May 27 with the Rev. John Johns officiating.
Ms. Compton died May 25 at LaSalle General Hospital.
Born Oct. 4, 1913, she was a retired cosmetologist.
She is survived by sisters, Bessie Tyler of Jena, Ruby Gilbert of Shreveport, Marilyn Stroud of Shreveport and Alene Robertson of Jackson , Miss.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.
Hanna
Yakima Hanna, 75
Funeral Services for Yakima Luther “Jack” Hanna, 75, of Jonesboro were held June 3 at the Gayla Traina Cemetery
with the Rev. Alton Peel officiating.
Mr. Hanna died June 1 at the V.A. Medical Center.
Born Jan. 5, 1920 in Rochelle, he was self employed and a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Louise Hanna of Jonesboro; son, Bobby Hanna and wife Christine of Hot Springs, Ark.; daughter, Robin Janelle Barnes and husband Donald of DeQueen, Ark.; step-son, Doug Graham and wife Lisa of Dodson; step-daughters, Sandra Hays and husband Ronnie of Shreveport and Susan Huckaby and husband Bobby; brother, L.L. “Runt” Hanna of Mt. Olive; sisters, Evelyn Hopkins of Zwolle and Sylvia Ann Clements of Arkadelphia, Ark.; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.
Tilley
Eva Tilley, 75
Funeral services for Eva Rae Tilley, 75, of Quitman were held May 28 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stuart Toms officiating. Burial followed in the Gayla Traina Cemetery
.Mrs. Tilley died May 26 at Lincoln General Hospital.Born Sept. 17, 1927, she was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Tilley, and one daughter, Mary Helen Tilley.
She is survived by daughter, JoAnn Carpenter and husband Harold of Crestview, Fla.; sons, William Ray Tilley and wife Lois of Jonesboro, Johnny Roy Tilley and wife Margaret of Goldonna and Jimmy Dale Tilley and wife Vickie of Hodge; brothers, Elmer Potts of Campti and Hester Potts of Winnfield; sisters, Docia Smith of Bienville, Eula May Tilley of Jonesboro; Dorothy Lee Neely of Shreveport, Helen Hughes of Coushatta, Inez Silvie of Campti and Anna Bell Desadier of Winnfield; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Paul Gresham, Barry Doner, Mike Brooks, Charles Futrell, Dan Denton and Lavelle Loe.

Shively
LeRoy Shively, 83
Funeral services for LeRoy Sebastian Shively, 83, of Hodge were held June 4 at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Stuart Toms and Charlie Hammons officiating. Burial followed in the Siloam Cemetery
in Gansville.
Mr. Shively died June 1 at Willis Knighten Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Vermelle Shively of Hodge; son, Hayward Shively of Quitman; daughters, Barbara Harvey and husband Harold of Quitman, Lynda Garner and husband Douglas of Hodge and Clara Evans and husband Donnie of Bossier City; brothers, Simon Shively Jr. of Shreveport and Jerry Shively of Homer; sisters, Ethel Jolley of Shreveport and Margie O’Neal of Shreveport; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearer was Jason Shively.
Pallbearers were Edward Garner, Tracy Garner, Greg Garner, Ken Garner, Mikel Evans and Lynn Taylor .

Mrs. Coody died May 24.Born April 10, 1928 in Bryceland, she was a housewife.
She is survived by daughters, Gertie Baker and husband Charles of Saline, Betty Knotts of Shreveport and Denise Bethune and husband Harold of Colombia, Tenn.; brothers, G.A. Davis of Jamestown and Robert Davis of Saline; sisters, Lessie Lee Davis of Sibley, Iva Freeman of Jonesboro and Ernestine Butler of Shreveport; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Schrock
David Schrock, 83
Funeral services for David J. Schrock, 83, of Ruston were held May 21 at the Grace Bible Baptist Church with the Revs. Jerry Smelley and Spud Rodrigues officiating. Burial followed in the Liberty Hill Cemetery.Mr. Schrock died May 19 at his home.
Born Jan 31, 1920 in Arthur, Ill., he was a carpenter and painter.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Schrock of Ruston; daughters, Peggy Smelley and husband Jerry of Mt. Olive and Patricia Albritton and husband Dick of Choudrant; brothers, L.J. Schrock of Sullivan, Ill. and Dan Schrock of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters, Susie Herschberger of Arthur, Cora Yutzy of Meminnville, Oregon and Ella Mast of Myerstown, Penn.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Shane Bell, Jamie Bell, Jared Fallin, Luke Polk, Jonathan Schrock and Billy Caldwell.

Womack
Richard Womack, 75
Funeral services for Richard Leonard Womack, 75, of Quitman were held May 24 at the Jonesboro Assembly of God with the Revs. Paul Bradford and Huey White officiating. Burial followed in the Hart Assembly of God Cemetery
in Sikes.
Mr. Womack died May 22 in Quitman.
Born Jan. 3, 1928 in Sikes, he was retired from the forestry industry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence William and Ollie Verda Head Womack; and one sister, Glenda June McDow.
He is survived by his wife, Billie D. Womack of Quitman; sons, Bobby Ray Womack and wife Tsune of Quitman, Charles Richard Womack of Quitman, the Rev. David William Womack and wife Sharon of Ferriday and Thomas Michael Womack and wife Velvet of Quitman; daughters, Linda Blount and husband Ellis of Qutiman and Beverly Kay Knox and husband Jimmy of Quitman; brothers, C.W. Womack Jr. and wife Billie Jo of Corning, Calif., Henry Lee Womack and wife Barbara of Sikes, John H. Womack and wife Annette of Winnfield and Jake Womack and wife Madonna of Winnfield; sisters, Patty Jo Underwood of Sikes, Iwilla Brumfield of Sikes, Mary Moore of Tyler, Texas , Patricia Young and husband Ricky of West Monroe and Vickie Godsey and husband Maynard of Tyler; mother-in-law, Ruby Mangum of Quitman; 20 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
