Henry Lee Chaumont, Sr.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2004, in the Duhon Funeral Home chapel, with Father Daniel Torres officiating, for Henry Lee Chaumont, Sr., 59, of Sugartown.
Mr. Chaumont dided at 8:18 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2004, in the Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder.
A rosary was recited Thursday, March 11, at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by his wife, Veronica Chaumont, Sugartown; four sons, Michael Chaumont, Elberta, Ala., Charles Chaumont, Rayne, Henry (Hank) Chaumont, Jr., Youngsville, and Robert Chaumont, New Iberia; two daughters, Janet Babin, New Iberia, and Monica Shanley, Dry Creek; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Alee Chaumont and Julia Fontenot; and one sister, Cecelia Hill.
Mr. Chaumont served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Brenda Joyce Sinegal Chachere
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2004, in Good Shepherd Deliverence Revival Church in Branch, with Evangelist Lucille Moore officiating, for Brenda Joyce Sinegal Chachere of Crowley.
Ms. Chachere, 53, died in Church Point at 8 a.m. March 9, 2004. She was a seamstress.
Burial was in the Branch Cemetery in Branch.
She is survived by her husband, James Chachere, Sr., of Church Point; her parents, Andrew Sinegal and Mary Lee Gibson Jacob of Branch; sons, Jamaaul Joseph Senegal and James Chachere, Jr., both of Church Point; four daughters, Rockelle Reneé Mayfield and Jada Caprice Mayfield, both of Branch, Nickie Duplechain, Church Point, and Shameka Chachere, Lafayette; a brother, Thomas Bastiste, Church Point; two sisters, Brunette Mouton, Baton Rouge, and Linda Faye Charlot, Church Point; and eight grandchildren.
Frank Brothers Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Gladys S. Cormier
Funeral services will be held Thursday March 18, 2004, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Gladys Simoneaux Cormier, 75, who died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at her residence in Rayne.
Survivors include her husband, Louis Cormier of Rayne; one daughter, Carol and her husband Norris Webb of Rayne; two sons, Mike and his wife Gwen Guidry, and Mark and Colleen Guidry of Rayne; two step-sons, Ricky Cormier of Rayne and Dave and his wife Linda Cormier of Rayne; three brothers, William “Kootsie” Simon-eaux, Wilbert Simoneaux, and Elwood “Pint” Simon-eaux all of Rayne; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cormier was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Maila Comeaux Simoneaux; and her first husband, Willie Guidry.
Pallbearers will be Willie Guidry, Chad Cormier, Jeremy Bergeron, Shane Miller, Brian Johnson , and Ricky Cormier; Honorary Pallbearers will be Chad Webb, Jeremy Webb, and Asa Johnson . Readers will be Jenny Guidry, and Mark Guidry. Giftbearers will be Brooke Guidry, Michelle Johnson , Jodi Miller, and Chris Bergeron. Altar server will be Katie Saltzman. Lay Minister will be Jenny Guidry.
Visitation will be Thursday from 8 a.m. until services. A Rosary was recited Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.
Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Audrey Ann Colligan Comeaux
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2004, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Audrey Ann Colligan Comeaux, 60, who died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at 12:30 p.m. in Lafayette General Medical Center.
Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery #2 Mausoleum.
Survivors include her husband, Callen Comeaux, of Rayne; two sons, Brain Comeaux and his wife Chrissy, of Rayne, Dean Comeaux, of Duson; four grandchildren, Kourtney, Haley, Chelsea, Kinley Comeaux; two sisters, Teresa Meche, of Rayne, Anna Colligan, of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry Colligan and Amy Deshotel Colligan; one brother, John W. Colligan.
A rosary will be recited a 8 p.m. Thursday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be observed from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. until time of services Friday.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Angela Denise Meche Fielder and Airelle Elizabeth Fielder
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2004, at Mass of Christian Burial in St. Edmond Catholic Church for Angela Denise Meche Fielder, 38, who died Tuesday, March 2, 2003, at 12:30 p.m. and Airelle Fielder, 20 months, who died Friday, March 5, 2004, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
interment was in St. Edmond’s Cemetery in Branch.
Survivors include husband and father, Thomas Warren Fielder, of Branch; one son, Chad Michael Fielder, of Branch; one daughter, Michala Elizabeth Fielder, of Branch; parents, James C. “June” Jr. and Gloria Kibodeaux Meche, of Branch; two brothers, Neal Meche, of Branch, Ned Meche, of Lawtell; and paternal grandmother, Lilly Meche, of Branch.
They were preceded in death by paternal grandfather, James Curtis Meche, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Bertile Lavergne Kibodeaux and Etienne Kibodeaux.
A rosary was be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Arrangements were entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Clarice Quebodeaux Thibodeaux
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m.Monday, March 8, 2004, in St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Crowley, with Father James Nguyen officiating, for Clarice Quebodeaux Thibodeaux, 73, of Egan, who died at 9 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2004 at her residence in Morgan City.
A rosary was recited Sunday at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Burial was in Quebodeaux Cemetery in Estherwood.
She is survived by three sons and their wives, Michael and Charlotte Thibodeaux of Hathaway, Kenneth Thibodeaux and Jimmy and Bobbie Thibodeaux, all of Morgan City; fours daughters and their spouses, Sandra and Mark Perry, Hathaway, Darlene and Larry Gary Thibodeaux, Richoc, Shirleen and Dean Brown, Bayou Vista, and Patsy Swords, Bayou Vista; one stepdaughter, Nell and Lee George Cahanin, Rayne; 156 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Ms. Thibodeaux is also survived by five sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester Joseph Thibodeaux; one son, Pat Thibodeaux; one stepson, Daniel Thibodeaux; and one deceased sister.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of funeral arrangements.

C. J. (Bruce)Broussard
C.J. “Bruce”Broussard, 90, of Rayne died at 4 a.m. Sunday, March 7, 2004 at his home here.
The deceased requested that no funeral service be held.
He is survived by two sons, Elwood Broussard, Rayne, and Melvin Broussard, Dallas, Texas ; and six grandchildren, Stephanie Broussard, Bryan Broussard, Melissa Dugas, Jason Broussard, Michael Broussard, and Kristie Leger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Olphise Levergene and Clince Broussard; three brothers, Pete, Stanislaus and Ophey Broussard; and three sisters, Leona Dugas, Elzenia Linscomb, and Blackie Leleux.
Mr. Broussard was a lifelong resident of Rayne. He was a carpenter and a former Rayne street commissioner.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Eva LeJeune Cavel
Funeral services were held at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile on Thursday, March 4, 2004, at 2 p.m. for Mrs.Eva LeJeune Cavel, 74, with burial in the St. Augustine Mausoleum.
Mrs. Cavel, a resident of Basile, Passed away after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at 7 a.m. at the Jeff Davis Care Center in Jennings.
Mrs. Eva, as she was fondly known, was a member of the St. Augustine’s Altar Society, was a CCD teacher for many years, a member of the Louisiana Swine Festival Association, Woodmen of the World and was a well known cook for the Basile Mardi Gras.
She is survived by her son and his spouse, Tommy and Tracey Cavel of Rayne; daughters and their spouses, Becky and Kenneth Ramour of Hathaway and Fannie Cavel of Basile; step-son Mack Cavel of Leesville; one brother, Lewis LeJeune and wife, Wilda; and one sister, Jane Fontenot, all of Basile; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Cavel; a brother, D.S. LeJeune; sister, Verdie Douget; and two grandsons, Kelsey and Shawn Ramour.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Ramour, Blake and Aaron DeVillier, Anthony Richardson, Bobby Jo Douget and Randy Darbonne.
Honorary pallbearers were Mack Cavel, Tommy Cavel, Brandon Richard and Michael Richard.
Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Basile was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Maddison Paige Jordan
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Maddison Paige Jordan, 5, who died Saturday, March 6, 2004, at Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
Survivors include her mother, Renee Hunter of Maurice; one brother, Grant Broussard of Maurice; grandparents, Steve and Jeanette Hunter of Hallsville Missouri; great-grandmother Rena Benoit of Rayne; and great-grandfather, Gene Hunter of Mire.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandfather Frank Thibodeaux; step-great-grandfather, O.J. Benoit; and her great-grandmother Sue Hunter.
Burial was in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Gossen funeral home of Rayne.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004, at Mass of Christian Burial in St. Edmond Catholic Church for Angela Denise Meche Fielder, 38, who died March 2, 2003, at 12:30 p.m..
interment will be in St. Edmonds cemetery in Branch.
Survivors include her husband Thomas Warren Fielder, of Branch; one son, Chad Michael Fielder, of Branch; two daughters, Airelle Elizabeth Fielder, of Branch, Michala Elizabeth Fielder, of Branch; parents, James C. “June” Jr. and Gloria Kibodeaux Meche, of Branch; two brothers, Neal Meche, of Branch, Ned Meche, of Lawtell; and paternal grandmother, Lilly Meche, of Branch.
