A Denham Springs ice cream man for more than 30 years and a resident of Denham Springs, he died at 10:50 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge. He was 65 and a native of Vicksburg, Miss. Visiting was at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday. Visiting at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until religious services at 12:30 p.m. Sunday. interment in Evergreen Memorial Park. Survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Patricia Carter Camp; two daughters and a son-in-law, Annette McDonald and Selina and Andrew Kennedy; three sons and daughters-in-law, James Jr. and Kate Camp, Darren and Annette Camp and Jeffery and Veronica Camp; a sister, Lois Watts; a brother, W.T. "Willie" Camp; and 20 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Oliver "Jerry" Camp and Winnie Couvillion; a brother, O.J. Camp; and a grandson, Brian James "B.J." McDonald.
CAZORT III, JOHN HAROLD
Born Dec. 9, 1941, in El Dorado, Ark., and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died peacefully at his home at 1:51 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2000. He devoted his life to the acceptance of therapeutic bodywork and opening people's minds to the power of human touch. He is much loved by family and friends and will be sadly missed. He is survived by his two children, John H. Cazort IV, Columbia, Mo., and Amye C. Martin and husband Louis, Covington, and their mother, Elizabeth Fontenot, Baton Rouge; parents, John H. Jr. and Carolyn Cazort, Springfield, Mo.; and a brother, Douglas Cazort, wife Connie and son Max, all of Eugene, Ore. The family wishes to express special thanks to Kenneth Carpenter, Thereza McCoy, Martha Townsend, Gilbert Cook, Marjorie Kass, Deb Sholley, and others, you know who you are. A retired diesel mechanic and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000. He was a native of Lucedale, Miss. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. KASTEN, ULRICH ERNST "RICK"
A self-employed plumber and a resident of Ethel, he died 10:48 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 63 and a native of Stettin, Germany. KILLEEN, SR. JOHN JOSEPH
A retired metropolitan area supervisor of the Louisiana Employment Security Office and a former under-secretary of the Department of Labor, he died of cancer Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at his daughter's home in Baton Rouge. He was 84, born and raised in Algiers and a resident of Metairie for the past 50 years. He graduated from Warren Easton High School and LSU. He served in the 4th Armored Division during World War II in the European Theater of Operations. He was the recipient of two Purple Hearts, the Silver Star and the Bronze Star. He was a past member of American Legion Post No. 77 and Knights of Columbus Santa Maria Council, a member of the 4th Armored Division Association, a life member of Disabled American Veterans and a member of Retired State Employees Association and St. Benilde Parish. Survivors include three children, Dr. John J. Killeen Jr., Marleen Killeen Garitty and Timothy Patrick Killeen, and their spouses, Lana H. Killeen and Timothy F. Garitty; three brothers and a sister, James, Orien and Robert Killeen and Audrey Triche; and four grandchildren, Sean and Kelly Killeen and Nicholas and Kevin Garitty. Preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Anna Mae Bencaz Killeen; parents, Frank and Annie Killeen; brothers, Thomas Killeen and Mickey Glancey; and a cousin, Sadie Killeen. A retired psychiatrist and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 89 and a native of Dallas. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was retired chief medical officer with Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola and superintendent of East Louisiana State Hospital, Jackson . He opened the first outpatient mental health treatment center in East Baton Rouge Parish. Memorial services at the chapel of University United Methodist Church, 3350 Dalrymple Drive, at 2 p.m. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Ken Irby and the Rev. Phil Woodland. Survived by two daughters, Elsie Lavender Byouk and son-in-law, Mark Martin Byouk, and Shannon Lavender Dunham and son-in-law, Richard Elliott Dunham II; a sister, Frances Lavender Smith, Longmont, Colo.; three grandchildren, Ashley Lavender Byouk, Shannon Patricia Byouk and Elliott Knight Dunham; and numerous nieces and nephews.
