A retired food service worker, she died at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001 at Villa Feliciana Medical Center, Jackson . She was 64 and a resident and native of Baton Rouge. Religious services at Winnfield Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Saturday, conducted by Brother Burnell Hayes Sr. interment in Hope Cemetery. Survived by her father, Dave Morris Sr.; a daughter, Gloria Morris Irving; two sons, Mark Morris and Terry Morris; a sister, Ellouise Morris Foster; three brothers, Dave Morris Jr., Johnny Morris Sr. and Russell Morris Sr.; and two grandchildren. Preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lee Morris; a son, Anthony Morris; and a brother, Milton Morris.
NELSON, JR. CAYE ARMAND

A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, he died at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center after a short-term battle with lung cancer. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Visiting at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday, celebrated by the Rev. Trey Nelson. interment in St. George Catholic Church Cemetery, Siegen Lane. He was 66 and a native of East Baton Rouge Parish. He attended St. Mary's Seminary in Kentucky and he was a 1953 graduate of Catholic High School and attended LSU. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Dorothy Yvonne Heine; two sons, the Rev. Caye A. Nelson III of Napoleonville and Plattenville, and Timothy Nelson and wife Sheila; five daughters, Tara Herrera and husband Esteban, Tonya DeSoto and husband Mark, Tracy Audiffred and husband Glenn, Tyleen Didier and husband John, and Talissa Nelson, all of Baton Rouge; a future son-in-law, Jason Becnel of Katy, Texas ; and 10 grandchildren, Ashley, Amanda Caye and Timothy Nelson, Stephen, Matthew and Anna Herrera, Michael and Emily DeSoto, and Mary Katherine and Sarah Audiffred, all of Baton Rouge. Preceded in death by his parents, Caye Armond Nelson Sr. and Mary Anna Brinkhaus; a sister, Catherine Nelson Daly; and a granddaughter, Katherine Elizabeth Audiffred. Pallbearers will be D.R. Atkinson, John and Nelson Daly, Mickey Norton, Tommy Wallace and Buddy Webre.

A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she died at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. She was 75, a resident of Greenwell Springs and a native of Berwyn, Ill. Newman; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert W. and June Shuldes, Barrington, Ill., and Dale V. and Wanda Shuldes, Albert Lea, Minn.; five nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, past office holder in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Altar Circle, attended the Ladies Bible class and was a member of Nimble Fingers Sewing Group and the Uniroyal Formanettes. A retired finance administrator and a resident of Donaldsonville, he died at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, in Donaldsonville. He was 66 and a native of St. James. SEWELL, THE REV. JOHN HENRY
A faithful servant of the Lord, he died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, in Houma. He was 87, born Aug. 20, 1914, in Coke County, Texas . Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. Visiting at First United Methodist Church of Baker, from 9 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. John Howard Sewell, the Rev. Tom Dolph and the Rev. Dall Eden. Entombment in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Katheryn and Warren Rink of Houma; a son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. John and Sally Sewell of Opelika, Ala.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Louise Edwards Sewell, who he married on Dec. 5, 1936; parents, Alton Z. and Katie LeMond Sewell; and a sister, Jewel Cook. He was a graduate of McMurray College in Abeline, Texas , and received a master's of theology from Perkins School of Theology. He began his ministry in 1941, and served in five churches in Jeanerette, First United Methodist Church in Ferriday, Buelah United Methodist Church in Jena, Centenary United Methodist Church in Franklinton, First United Methodist Church in Baker, Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church in Morgan City, First United Methodist Church and Mount Mariah United Methodist Church in Arcadia, McGuire United Methodist Church in West Monroe and North Highlands United Methodist Church and Morningside United Methodist Church in Shreveport. SILLINGER, HAROLD E.
A retired auto glass installer with Landry Glass Co., with 35 years of service, and a resident of Baker, he died at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at Earl K. Long Medical Center. He was 76 and a native of Baton Rouge. He was a U.S. Navy machinist mate third class veteran of World War II, serving in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign. He was awarded the Philippine Liberation Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal. STEVENS, EVELYN LANEHART "THE ROCK"
Born Aug. 25, 1915, she departed to a better place on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at her residence in Baton Rouge. She retired in 1978 from the state Legislative Auditor's Office. She was 86 and a native of Woodville, Miss. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. Visiting at Broadmoor United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Saturday, conducted by Dr. Robert L. Burgess. Graveside services at Eastern Star Cemetery, Wilson, at 1 p.m. Saturday. Survived by a daughter, Diana Stevens Dabadie; three granddaughters, Denise Dabadie, Monique Doyle and Lauryn Smith; and five great-grandchildren, Angelle, Michelle, Crystal, Steven and James. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur Butler Stevens; parents, Wayne and Sallie Lanehart; a brother, Clarence; sisters, Nora, Ann, Carrie, Jessie, Sallie and Edith. She was a faithful member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church, a member of AARP and Domestic Arts Club, as well as an avid bridge player. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, who will be deeply missed by everyone whose life she touched.

A resident of Metairie, she died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at East Jefferson Hospital. She was 85 and a native of Abita Springs. TURNER, EDNA DIXON
Passed away Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001, in Orem, Utah. She was born July 9, 1924, in Baton Rouge, the daughter of Mary Ficklin and John Dixon. She married Leo A. Turner on Nov. 15, 1943. She loved life and thrived on serving others. Her selflessness touched the lives of many people. All those who knew her will miss her dearly. Her greatest joys in life were her family, friends and service in church. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, for which she served two missions, one in Nashville, Tenn., and another in Dallas. Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and from 8:30 a.m. until services at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial in Redwood Cemetery. She is survived by four children, Jerry Turner and wife Starlett, Lawton, Okla., Don Turner, Shreveport, Connie Whitney and husband Newell, Alpine, Utah, and Terri Lee and husband John, Orem; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Elmo Dixon, Baton Rouge, Charles Dixon, St. George, Utah, and Dorris Hughes, Orem. Preceded in death by her husband, Leo.

A licensed practical nurse and retired from the U.S. Army, he died Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, at his residence in Baton Rouge. He was 60 and a native of Zachary.
