Preceded in death by her husband, Tom Jack Bentley.
BRAUD, ALVIN J.
A retired PBX installer for South Central Bell and a former employee of AVIS car rental service, he died Friday morning, Nov. 23, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 77 and a native of Baker. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving aboard the USS Suwannee. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Jackson ; great-grandchildren, Kayla Jones, Dakota, Taryn and Leigan Braud and Jasamine Jones; sisters, Artye Lee Scott and Isabel Delatte, both of Gonzales; and numerous nieces and nephews. CLEVENGER, KYLE D.
A dedicated husband, loving father and a dear friend to many, he left us at 6 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 72, born on Dec. 30, 1928, in Sweetwater, Tenn. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, he never lost his love for his beloved Tennessee Volunteers. A longtime resident of Baton Rouge, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a Mason and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, active in community affairs and the dog show world. He was a research chemist for 42 years and a pioneer in the field of chemistry with several patents to his name. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. until religious services at 1 p.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. T.W. Terral. interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dolores Swope Clevenger; four children, Page Wilson and husband Kenneth, Nancy Cohagan, Kyle Clevenger II and wife, Beverly, and Leslie Hernandez and husband Ted; a brother, Lynn Clevenger; and a sister, Suzanne Redmond; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father, Raymond Clevenger; mother, Elizabeth Clevenger; and sons-in-law, Phillip Cohagan, Terry Lemoine and Sidney Portier. A resident of Baton Rouge, he died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 56 and a native of Lamaqure, Texas . CUPIT, LARRY PAUL
An electrician and resident of Baker, he died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday Nov. 21, 2001, in Greenwell Springs. He was 30 and a native of Norwood. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served in the first reconnaissance in the Persian Gulf War. Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m Saturday and from noon until religious services at 2 p.m. Sunday. Cremation will be held at Evergreen Crematory, Denham Springs. He is survived by his wife, Jill Cambre Cupit, Baker; parents, Larry and June Spiers Cupit, Baker; maternal grandmother, Perry Bergeron, Galvez; maternal great-grandmother, Edith Spiers, Baton Rouge; a daughter, Shellie Nicole Cupit, Baton Rouge; a son, Evan Joseph Cupit, Baker; a stepson, Austin Schexnaildre, Port Allen; two stepdaughters, Amanda and Abby Walker, Baker; and a sister and brother-in-law, Dina and Val Buxton, Zachary. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Joseph and Elizabeth Cupit; maternal grandfather, James Arvle Spiers; niece, Samantha Nicole Buxton; and an uncle, Charles Cupit. Died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at her residence in Baton Rouge. She was 86, born July 1, 1915, in Ackerman, Miss. Visiting at First United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Chris Andrews. interment in Roselawn Memorial Park. Survived by her husband of 60 years, William E. Davis Sr.; a daughter, Jane Davis Dunlap, and son-in-law, Wallace Dunlap; a son, William E. "Bill" Davis Jr.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by sisters, Martha Perkins and Elizabeth Smith; and brothers, Willis Maddox and Lynch Maddox. Pallbearers will be Hugh Raetzsch Jr., William E. Davis III, Jonathon Davis, Paul Copeland, Nelson Maddox and Brandon Maddox. Honorary pallbearer is Robert L. Jones. Born Oct. 16, 1955, she died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001. FAULKNER, PAUL B
A native of Pontotoc, Miss., and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 9:47 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001. He was born July 20, 1926. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 11 a.m. until memorial services at 1 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Milford Walters presiding. interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Paul was a decorated veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict, serving five years in the U.S. Army Infantry. He graduated with honors on the president's list with a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Mississippi State University after completing military service. Paul retired after making numerous contributions to the chemical industry, including management and start-up of plants in the United States, Brazil and Italy. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Inez B. Johnson . Paul is survived by a son, Ruble Stephen Faulkner; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Dianne and Philip G. Rivet; and a grandson, Ryan Jack Paul Faulkner. His parents were William Wesley Nathaniel Faulkner and Cora Fountain Edwards of Pontotoc, Miss. He is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Raymond Davis and Nelda Faulkner of West Point, Miss.; a sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Earl Nichols of Gulfport, Miss.; five nieces and five nephews.
GANAWAY, DONNA BRUNO
A homemaker and a resident of Greenwell Springs, she died at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at her residence. She was 69 and a native of Plaquemine. Memorial services at St. Charles Borremeo Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Saturday. Survived by two daughters, Anne Ganaway, Greenwell Springs, and Jeanie Ganaway, Baton Rouge; two sons, Joe Ganaway, Baton Rouge, and Clint Ganaway, Morgan City; nine grandchildren, Blake, T.J., Angela, Kenny, Derrick, Chantel, Clint Jr., Heather and Charles; a sister, Ella Bruno Lively, Zachary; and a nephew, Danny Bruno. Preceded in death by her parents, O'Neil and Mattie Kelly Bruno; three sisters, Ada Rivet, Lilly Smith and Eva Millet; and three brothers, Mitchell, Mac and Charles Bruno. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
