She was 88 and a native of Chunky, Miss. Visitation at First United Methodist Church, Hammond, from 9 a.m. Wednesday until religious services at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Ricky Willis. interment in Roseland Park Cemetery, Hattiesburg, Miss. Survived by two daughters, Mrs. John A. (Genevieve M.) Andre, Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Maurice N. (Nita K.) Cockerham, Gulf Breeze, Fla.; four grandchildren, Michael C. Andre, Lisa A. Everett, Courtney Cockerham and Tara Rittenhouse; and three great-grandchildren, Lauren Everett, Christopher Cockerham and Daylia Rittenhouse. Preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee and Genevieve Mohler Martin; six sisters, Louise Ferguson, Sarah McInnis, Gladys Cummings, Bonnie Gillen, Katheryn Ingram and Beatrice Swinney; and two brothers, retired U.S. Army Maj. Reginald Martin, and infant Robert Lee Martin Jr. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hammond, and United Methodist Women, and a former member of Round Table Club and Daughters of the American Revolution. NORMAND, WILMER PAUL
A retired ship captain with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and a former boat captain on the Algiers Ferry for 10 years, he died at 2:40 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at Bayou Chateau Nursing Center, Simmesport. He was 85 and a resident of Simmesport. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Visiting was at Escude Funeral Home, Simmesport, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting at the funeral home after 7 a.m. Tuesday. Survived by a brother, Willard Normand, Simmesport; and a sister, Irene Ryland, Simmesport. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and a life member of the VFW and the DAV.

A retired regional superintendent with Cargill Inc., he died at his home in Baton Rouge on Monday, Nov. 26, 2001. He was 75 and a native of Superior, Wis. He was a graduate of East High School and attended the University of Wisconsin in Superior. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He belonged to the Usher Society at St. Jude Catholic Church and was a past assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 7 at St. Aloysius School. A retired waitress at Frank’s Place No. 2 in New Boston, Ohio, and a resident of Maurepas, she died at 8:50 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, in Maurepas. She was 62 and a native of Harris, Ky.
