Dis-missal at 10 a.m. Monday. interment in Southern Memorial Gardens. Survived by his wife, Diane Hunt; a daughter, Latonya Hunt; goddaughter, Theresa Joseph; three sons, Dexter Hunt, Horn Lake, Miss., Clifton Hunt and Ray Simms, both of Baker; six sisters and five brothers-in-law, Beverly and Virgie Hillard, Estella and Willie Moore, Diane and Robert Hall, Carmille and Anthony Bolden, and Phyllistean Hunt, all of Memphis, Tenn., and Willda Hunt, Horn Lake; three brothers, Donald Hunt, Memphis, and Jerome and Jeremy, both of Horn Lake; and a grandchild, Jamineque Sambo. Preceded in death by his mother, father, uncles and aunts. Pallbearers will be D'shon Coleman, De'Angelo Coleman, James Jackson Jr., Esishmel Spears, De'Shea Griffin and Ronald Wells. Honorary pallbearers are Dexter Hunt, Clifton Hunt, Donald Hunt, Jerome Hunt, Jeremy Hunt, Travis Winn, Charles Allen, Virgie Hillard, Willie Moore, Robert Hall and Anthony Bolden.

KNIGHT, SR. HELLION "BIG KNIGHT"
Chief of police of White Castle, he died at 9:45 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 62 and a native of Modeste. Vis-iting was at Hall's Mortuary, Port Allen, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Wake services were at St. John Baptist Church, Dorsey-ville, the Rev. Gregory L. Coates, pastor, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday. Religious services at the church at 11 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Mark Issac Stewart Sr. interment in Point Pleasant Cemetery, River Road, south of Plaquemine. Survived by his wife, Mabel Sparrow Knight; a daughter, Pamela Faye Knight, Plaquemine; three sons, Kim Knight, White Castle, Hellion Knight Jr., Donaldsonville, and Kipp Knight, White Castle; two foster children whom he reared, D'Quay Johnson and D'Nyea Brown, both of White Castle; four sisters, Gladys Maracalin, Plaquemine, Albertha Walker, Modeste, Gloria Thomas, Santa Anna, Calif., and Sarah Mitchell, Boutte; three brothers, Joseph Knight, Modeste, Isareal Knight, New Orleans, and Henry Knight, Modeste; mother-in-law, Hazel Sparrow, Plaquemine; and 10 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his mother and father, Elmonia and Joseph Knight; two brothers, George and Edward Knight; and a grandson, Kipp Vincent Knight.

MARRETTA, HENRY P.
A resident and native of Independence, he died at 4:58 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at his home. He was 83. He was a retired greenhouse attendant with Southeastern Louisiana University, Hammond, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council No. 5627, American Legion Post No. 109, American Vets, St. Joseph Society, VFW and D.A.V. Visitation was at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Visitation at the funeral home from 8 a.m. to 10:10 a.m. Saturday. Religious services at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, Independence, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Paul McDuffie. Entombment in Colonial Mausoleum, Independence. Survived by his wife, Therese Templet Albaral Marretta, Independence; four daughters and sons-in-law, Marietta and Jack Coslan, Independence, Rose and Allen Sowell, Amite, Andrea and Joe Costa and Jeanette and Gary Overby, all of Independence; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Gladys Williams and Jeanette Richard; two stepsons, Larry and Kenneth Albaral; a brother, Mario Marretta, Baton Rouge; and a sister, Emily Sinagra, Independence. Preceded in death by his first wife, Annie Sinagra Marretta; parents, George and Maria Adrignela Marretta; a brother, Vito Marretta; and a sister, Annette Marretta Sinagra.

MCNAIR, DAN W.
An industrial arts school teacher in East Baton Rouge Parish for 28 years, including 19 years at Central Middle School and recently taught at Northeast High School, he died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. He was 51, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Fresno, Calif. Visiting was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Thomas Duhé and Deacon Phillip BeJeaux. Graveside services at Clear Creek Methodist Church Cemetery, Clinton, at 1 p.m. Saturday. Survived by his wife, Katherine DeLee McNair; mother, Ruth Faye Derrick McNair; two sons, Augustus W. "Gus" McNair and Daniel D. McNair; a sister, Debra McNair Morgan; and a brother, Richard Wayne McNair. Preceded in death by his father, Dan Wesley McNair. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, LSU football team from 1969 to 1974 and the L-Club at LSU. Memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Louisiana , 8200 Hampson St., New Orleans, LA 70118.

MOUTON, WILLIAM HOMER
Funeral services will be held at an 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lafayette for William Homer Mouton, 93, who died at Lafayette General Medical Center Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Robie Robicheaux, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church, will be the celebrant and the Rev. Joseph Brennan, retired, will concelebrate. interment in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Mouton, a native of Lafayette, was the son of the late Jerome Mouton and the former Elizabeth Bailey. Mr. Mouton, "Pop," his sister and brother were orphaned by the death of their father in 1919 and the subsequent death of their mother in 1922. Members of the Debaillon family, whom he showed a lifetime of gratitude, raised them. He graduated from Tulane Law School in 1931 and began his law practice in 1932 with Dan Debaillon. He had recently received a 70-year membership certificate from the Louisiana State Bar Association. In 1972, he and his two sons and later his daughter, formed the Wm. H. Mouton Law Office, where he practiced law until his retirement due to health reasons in 1998. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, obtaining the rank of lieutenant commander. He was stationed at the Naval Air Training Station in New Orleans for most of the war. He was a member of the board of directors of LBA Savings Bank for more than 50 years. He was founding member of Oakbourne Country Club, founding member of the board of Lafayette General Medical Center during its location to the Oil Center, and founding member of Lafayette Petroleum Club. He was a member of Kappa Sigma social fraternity while at Tulane. He was a former member of the Krewe of Gabriel and Les Brigands of Lafitte. He was a former trustee of the Governing Board of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Mr. Mouton is survived by his wife, the former Marguerite Blair of Lafayette; two sons and two daughters, William Hugh "Billy" Mouton and wife Ramona Venable Mouton and Arthur D. "Art" Mouton and wife Catherine Haydel Mouton, all of Lafayette, Marguerite Mouton Taylor and husband Robert E. Taylor of Jackson , Miss., and Blair Mouton Lockwood and husband Thomas M. Lockwood III of Baton Rouge; seven grandchildren, Benjamin P. Mouton, Mona Mouton Romero, Capt. Daniel E. Mouton, Guy W. Mouton, Jeanne M. Mouton, Dillon J. Lockwood and Daniel Lockwood; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jerome E. Mouton; a brother, Jerome Ernest Mouton, who died in France during World War II; and a sister, Jeanne Mouton Jeanmard. Pallbearers will be Benjamin P. Mouton, Lee Romero, Guy W. Mouton, Capt. Daniel E. Mouton, Thomas M. Lockwood and Robert E. Taylor . Honorary pallbearers are Lawrence "Lolly" Gankendorf, John J. Burdin Jr., Benjamin Pooler, James M. Jennings, William M. "Bill" Lowry and the board of directors of LBA Savings Bank. The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m. Visiting at the funeral home from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday.

MUNSON, ALICE K. LEPARD
A retired nurse with Baton Rouge General Medical Center and the CDU of Baton Rouge, she died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at her residence in Baton Rouge. She was 69 and a native of Fort Leavenworth, Kan. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and in the chapel from 10 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Monday. interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Alice L. Marks and Robert F. Marks; a son and daughter-in-law, William W. Lepard and Emily M. Lepard; a sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor K. Carlton and Frederick A. Carlton; a sister-in-law, Margaret I. Koenig; and two grandchildren, Kathryn E. Lepard and Charles W. Marks. Preceded in death by her husbands, V.W. Lepard and Fulton R. Munson. She was active in the AKC Kennel Club, PWP and most recently Capital Area CASA and Cat Haven. SIMEON, MAUDIE ADELINE "AUNTIE"
A homemaker and resident of Walker, she died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at her home. She was 93. Visiting at Seale Funeral Home, Livingston, from 11 a.m. until religious services at 1 p.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Jeremy Stewart. interment in Old Red Oak Cemetery, Livingston. Survived by her nieces, Joyce Stewart, Livingston, Mavis Hoyt, Walker, Erma Gates, Livingston, and Beverly Dale Wall, Livingston; and nephews, Valmond Simeon, Gloster, Miss., and Herman Simeon Jr., Livingston. Preceded in death by her first husband, George Duhe; second husband, Cleo Zeigler; parents, Edward and Mary Jane Simeon; an infant sister, Agnes Louisa Simeon; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Herman Sr. and Addie Simeon and James Calvin "Sonny" and Leona Simeon. Pallbearers will be Burhman Gates, Jewel Hoyt, Herman Simeon Jr., Wayne Stafford, Benjamin Stewart and Kenneth Stewart. She was a member of Livingston Pentecostal Church, Livingston.

SMITH, AMY SENECA
A homemaker and resident of Plaquemine, she died at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at River West Medical Center. She was 84 and a native of St. Martin Parish. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine, from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, Plaquemine, at 1 p.m. Monday, celebrated by the Rev. Dean Martin. interment in the Protestant section of St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Plaquemine. Survived by a daughter, Rita Mae Smith Kelley, Bayou Sorrel; a granddaughter, whom she reared as a daughter, Annette Kreamer, Gonzales; a great-granddaughter, whom she reared as a daughter, Nicole Dupree, Bayou Sorrel; a son, Ralph Joseph Smith, Plaquemine; a sister, Shirley Seneca Carline, Bayou Sorrel; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel A. Smith Jr.; three infant children; a sister, Gladys Morales; a brother, Danville Seneca; a sister, Leona Seneca; and two great-grandchildren.

TRABEAUX, SR. WILBERT JOSEPH
A resident of Sorrento, he died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002. He was 77. Arrangements are pending at Welsh Funeral Home, Gonzales.

WEYDERT, RUBY ALLEN
A retired licensed practical nurse with Lane Memorial Nursing Home, Zachary, and resident of Zachary, she died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at Dixon Medical Center, Baton Rouge. She was 86 and a native of East Feliciana Parish. Visiting at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Zachary, from 10 a.m. until religious services at 11 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Kenny Laird. interment in Grace Episcopal Church Cemetery, St. Francisville. Survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Albert W. and Sandra Weydert, Gonzales, and Charles A. and Karie Weydert, Sulphur; a sister, Pat Briant, Lafayette; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ruby devoted her entire life to her family's physical and spiritual growth and well being. Preceded in death by her husband, Albert W. Weydert Sr.; a daughter, Lorrain Woodward; and a grandson, Charles B. "Ben" Weydert. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Zachary. Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, in charge of arrangements.

WHITE, DOROTHY BROUSSARD "DOT"
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers, Lafayette, for Dorothy "Dot" Broussard White , 77, who died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at her residence in Lafayette. The Rev. Perry Sanders, pastor of First Baptist Church of Lafayette, will conduct the services. Musical selections will be performed by Nell Lockey, organist, and Ramona Carmichael, vocalist, and will include "Victory in Jesus," "Now I Belong to Jesus," and "When They Ring Those Golden Bells for Me & You." interment will take place in Lafayette Protestant Cemetery. Mrs. White , the daughter of the late Cyrus J. Broussard and the former Thelma Hughart, was a native of Nederland, Texas . She moved from Lake Arthur to Alexandria in the early 1930s. She came to Lafayette in 1942 to attend Southwestern Louisiana Institute, now University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She married her college sweetheart in 1943 and had been a resident of Lafayette since. Mrs. White was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, who will be sadly missed by everyone. She was a member of First Baptist Church since 1942, and was active in the Sunday School Training Union and the Women's Mission Unit. She was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge in Lafayette. Survivors include her husband, George F. White Sr. of Lafayette; a daughter, Susan White Brown and husband Roy of Lafayette; a son, George F. White Jr. of Lafayette; a sister, Armilda "Mitzi" Fields of Lafayette; and four grandchildren, Laura D. Andrew, Bryan J. Andrew, Leah Brown and Jeffrey Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Jo-Ellen Trahan; and two brothers, Robert J. Broussard and Harold W. Broussard. Pallbearers will be Charles E. White II, Clark White and Bryan J. Andrew. Visiting hours will be Saturday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. until service time.

ALFORD, EUGENE ROBERT "GENIE"
A retired welder at Avondale Inc. and a resident of Webster, Texas , he died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2002, in Webster. He was 74, a native of Kentwood and a former resident of Donaldsonville. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday. Visiting in the funeral home chapel from 8 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Entombment in Ascension Mausoleum. Survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Pamela Alford, Kemah, Texas ; and two grandchildren, Adam and Alexis Alford. Preceded in death by his wife, Daisy Cassard Alford; parents, Alanson and Missouri Fluker Alford; two brothers, Percy and Clifton Alford; and three sisters, Odell Hoagie, Idell Langois and Vernamae Devane. He was a former member of Montalbano-Sentilles VFW Post 3766.

CHAMPAGNE, KERMIT J.
A retired welder and a member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Union Local 198, he died Friday, March 29, 2002, at Integrated Health Services. He was 83, a resident of Prairieville and a native of Bourg. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Visiting at Welsh Funeral Home, Gonzales, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Graveside services in St. Ann's Catholic Church Cemetery, Bourg, at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Survived by his wife, Johnny M. Champagne of Prairieville; and a brother, Richard Champagne of St. Charles, Mo. Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister. He was a member of the VFW and a longtime member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bourg.
