A resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 5:10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, at The Care Center. She was 81 and a native of Maynard, Ark. She was a Women's Army Auxiliary Corps veteran of World War II. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 10 a.m. until religious services in the chapel at 1 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. A retired licensed practical nurse and a resident and native of Baton Rouge, she died at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. She was 82. ROTOLO, ANTHONY L. "TATE"
Part owner of State Cleaners and a resident of Baton Rouge, he passed from this life at 2:25 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. SCEARCE, ROBERT HARLAN "THE OLE BEACHCOMBER"
A retired broadcaster with WAFB-TV Channel 9, and a retired Morning Advocate columnist who held the record for the longest outdoor column in newspaper history for 54 years, he was inducted into the Outdoors Writers Hall of Fame in 1999. He died at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 87, a resident of Baton Rouge since 1934, and a native of Cincinnati. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., from 5 p.m. Wednesday until memorial services at 7 p.m. He is survived by his wife, Mary Whatley Scearce; and a son and daughter-in-law, John and Judy Scearce, all of Baton Rouge.
