Funeral services for Mrs. Gloria Cox Jacobs , age 74, will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, March 26, 2012, at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Ronald Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jacobs was born on December 23, 1937 to Wilmar Carter "Pat" and Mildred Dean Cox in Sarepta, LA and passed away on March 23, 2012 in Springhill. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and was a retired elementary school teacher after teaching for 25 years. She specialized in special education. She loved the study of genealogy, needlepoint, and cross stitch. In college she majored in piano. She was a loving wife, daughter, and mother.
Gloria is survived by her husband of 44 years, Lloyd E. Jacobs; son, Samuel Jacobs and wife DeeAnna of Springhill, LA; mother, Mildred Cox of Springhill; sister, Wilma Cox Rhyme of Levelland, TX; and brother, Melvin Cox of Tupelo, MS.
Mrs. Jacobs was preceded in death by father.

Funeral services for Mrs. Levonne Wise Nichols, age 87, will be held Saturday, August 13, 2011, at 10:00 AM in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, with Rev. Ronald Dunn and Rev. Brian Comeaux officiating. Interment will follow in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Shongaloo, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.
Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Mrs. Nichols was born November 17, 1923 in Shongaloo, LA to Roby and Beatrice Arlindie Watkins Wise and passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011 in Springhill, LA. She was a lifelong resident of this area, a member of Cotton Valley Assembly of God Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Nichols was also a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Dianne N. Kennedy of Springhill, LA, Judy N. Lamb and husband, Edward of Bossier City, LA, Roy Nichols and wife, Alicia of Springhill, LA; grandchildren, Kim Comeaux and husband, Brian, Dr. Paula Parkerson, Kristy LeJeune and husband, Boyd, Twyna Graves and husband, Gary, Corkey Parkerson, Jason Nichols and wife, Whitney, Lacey Harkins and husband, Zach; great grandchildren, Tyler, Dafydd, Aaron, Emma, Anna, Austin, Noah; sister, Betty Parker and husband, J.W.; brother, Bob Wise and wife, Syble, all of Springhill, LA and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Nichols was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 67 years, Rev. Sir Rupert Nichols; sister, Carolyn Wise; brother, J.L. Wise and granddaughter, Makayla Woods.
Serving as pallbearers will be Corkey Parkerson, Tyler, Comeaux, Jason Nichols, Zach Harkins, Wayne Thompson, and James Cheatham.
The family would like to thank Lee Jones and the staff at Agape Hospice and the staff of Fountainview Nursing Home. We would also like to express our deepest appreciation to those who faithfully sat by her side and assisted with her care, Eva Perry, Margie Juckett, Sharon Caston, Ginger Souter, Laura Carter, Kristen Jimenez, and Samantha Lopez.

Graveside services for Mr. Fred H.Varnado, age 79, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Old Shongaloo Cemetery, 14750 Hwy 159, Shongaloo, LA.
Mr. Varnado was born on September 27, 1932 to Samuel Otto and Irma Warren Varnado in Hillsdale, LA and passed away on July 15, 2012 at his home in Shongaloo, LA. He was a member of the Mt. Paran Baptist Church, a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict, and was a retired ranch foreman. He loved rodeo, team roping, bull riding, horses and cattle.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Rosemary Lindsey Varnado; children, Cheryl Lin of Baton Rouge, LA, Linda Mancuso and husband Ron of Eufaula, AL, Betty Zeugin of Austin, TX, Howard Varnado and wife Afton of Stephensville, TX, Samuel "Billy" Varnado of Shongaloo, LA, Tim Varnado and wife Brandy of Pritchett, CO, Kathleen Hamilton of St. Francisville, LA, Jerry Ragen and wife Tabitha of Branch, AR; numerous grandchildren and great granchildren; brothers, Glenn Varnado and wife Sandy of Lake Oswego, OR, Gary Varnado and wife Mary of Amite, LA; sisters, Ina Wheat of Denham Springs, LA, Rose Mary Yantis and husband, Loudon of Zachary, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Varnado was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Norman Varnado.

Funeral services for Mr. Eddie Ray Pickler, age 73, will be held Sunday, September 11, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, LA with Rev. Jerry Evans officiating.
Visitation will begin Saturday at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.
Mr. Pickler was born October 27, 1937 in Taylor, AR to William Edward and Dorothy Elva Wilkerson Pickler and passed away Thursday, September 8, 2011 in Bradley, AR. He was a resident of Taylor, AR, a member of Taylor United Methodist Church, a member of Hughey Masonic Lodge #70 and El Karubah Shriners. Mr. Pickler was also a member of the Asbury United Methodist Motor Club and retired in 2000 from BE&K; Engineering after many successful years as a Project Manager. He was a loving husband and father with many friends.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Knight Pickler; three daughters, Karen Pickler Barnes and husband, Thomas, Renae Wilson-Robnett and husband, Kenneth, Lesa Pickler Warren and husband, Ted; grandchildren, Alex Barnes, Colin Barnes, Chris Wilson and wife, Staci, Jay Wilson and wife, Leslie, Jennifer Warren, Broox Warren, Travis Warren & wife, Lauren, Rebekah Miller and husband, Clay; great grandchild, Korbin Wilson; sister, Mary Ann Elmore and husband, Donald; brother, George Pickler and wife, Lynda, mother-in-law, Gladys Fields Knight and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Earl Duck, Sr., age 75, will be held Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 10:00 AM in Old Sarepta Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Pickard officiating. Interment will follow in Old Sarepta Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.
Visitation will begin Friday at 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Bailey Funeral Home.
Mr. Duck was born March 9, 1936 in Jonesboro, LA to Joil Harlan and Gustavian Stovall Carter Duck and passed away Thursday, March 01, 2012 at his home in Sarepta, LA. He was a lifelong resident of this area and a retired carpenter.
He is survived by daughter, Becky Tyree and husband, Karl of Sarepta, LA; sons, Jimmy Earl Duck, Jr. and wife, Joni of Minden, LA, Dayton Lane Duck of Homer, LA; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brothers, Junior Duck of Sarepta, LA, Charlie Duck of Sarepta, LA, Donny Duck of Haynesville, LA, Nathan Duck of Sarepta, LA and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Duck was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Vickie Pevy; brothers, Bobby, R.H. and David Duck and sisters, Betty Harris and Barbara Ann Bullard.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Duck, Ricky Dillion, Wade Pickard, Tim Pickard, Jeffery Beshea and Wade Coile.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Hix Disotell , age 91, will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, March 30, 2012, in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, with Bro. Lyndell Chaffin officiating. Interment will follow in the Taylor Memorial Cemetery, Taylor, AR under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Disotell was born on January 30, 1921 to Raymond A. and Flora McCann Hix in Sarepta, LA and passed away on March 26, 2012 in Magnolia, AR. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church, Magnolia, AR and a homemaker. She loved gardening and taking care of her pets. She was also, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Horace Disotell, sons, Edward Charles Cannon and wife, Charlotte of Arlington, TX, Robert H. Disotell of Taylor, AR, Lee A. Disotell and wife, Lenora of Marshall, TX; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Disotell was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Vernon Hix.
Pallbearers will be Mike Denmon, Bill Nipper, Jason Reynolds, Stoney Britt, Scott King, Jeff Disotell and Steve Hardy.
