Graveside services for Mrs. Mildred Hall Hilburn, age 94, will be held Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 10:00 AM in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will begin Monday, June 4, 2012 at 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Mrs. Hilburn was born February 3, 1918 in Simpson, LA to Samuel Thomas and Celia Bennett Williamson and passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012 in Shreveport, LA. She was a resident of Shreveport, LA and a former resident of Springhill. Mrs. Hilburn was a member of Central Baptist Church and was a clerk at the Fashion Shop in Springhill for 30 years.

She is survived by her son, William Ray “Bill” Hall and wife, Linda of Shreveport, LA; daughter-in-law, Connie Hall of Saraland, AL; three grandsons; one granddaughter; two great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hilburn was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Ray Hall, J.C. Hilburn; son, Thomas David Hall; three brothers and three sisters.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to the Staff of Grace Home for their compassion and care of their loved one.

August 20, 1921 - November 20, 2011

Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Nelson Thomas, age 90, will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 2:00 PM in First Baptist Church with Rev. Ronald Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Branch Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will begin Tuesday at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church until time of service.

Mrs. Thomas was born August 20, 1921 in Springhill, LA to James Allen and Mary Ellen Carter Nelson and passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011 in Bossier City, LA. She was a lifelong resident of this area, a member of First Baptist Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Thomas was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Collier and husband, Dwight of Haughton, LA; son, Tollie Joe Thomas and wife, Brenda of Pine Bluff, AR; grandchildren Tammy Collier Snellgrove and husband, Ian, Apriell Peoples and husband, Jamie, Robert Edward Thomas, Elita Kay McRae and husband, Kent; great grandchildren, Bayley Callaway, Peyton Peoples, Ryley Snellgrove, Raygen Snellgrove and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Tollie S. Thomas.

Pallbearers will be Robert Thomas, Ian Snellgrove, Jamie Peoples, Harry Glen Nelson, Phillip Thurman and Cade Nelson. Honorary pallbearers will be great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Blanton Rhymes, age 86, will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, November 18, 2012, at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, LA, with Bro. Craig Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery, Springhill, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Sunday, November 18, 2012 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rhymes was born on May 2, 1926 to Thomas and Pearlie Roberson Blanton in Plain Dealing, LA and passed away on November 16, 2012 in Quitman, LA. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Quitman, LA and loved cooking, sewing, quilting and crocheting. Mrs. Rhymes was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by daughters, Terri Powers and husband, Mike of Quitman, LA, Janet Rhymes of Quitman, LA; son, Larry Rhymes of Monroe, LA; three granddaughters, Sara Thompson and husband, Jeremy of Monroe, LA, April Cassidy and husband, Jessie of Minden, LA, Mary Caitlin Rhymes of Lafayette, LA; two grandsons, Matt Powers and Leah of Pea Ridge, AR, Samuel Rhymes of Baton Rouge, LA; great grandson, Remy Thompson; three great-granddaughters, Gracie and Allie Thompson, Halle Powers, and a host of nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.

Mrs. Rhymes was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 60 years, James R. Rhymes.

Pallbearers will be Larry Rhymes, Matt Powers, Samuel Rhymes, Remy Thompson, Mike Powers, Jeremy Thompson, and Jessie Cassidy.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made St. Jude's or the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, Monroe, LA.

Jonathan Montgomery and Rev. Ronald Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring Branch Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will begin Friday at 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Bailey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Russell was born January 8, 1934 in Taylor, AR to Thomas Berl and Mary Velma Toms Jones and passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011 in Shreveport, LA. She was a lifelong resident of this area, a member of Corinth Baptist Church and a sales clerk for Saras Dress Shop.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane Singleton and husband, Steve of Cotton Valley, LA, Sandy Burns and husband, Dennis of Springhill, LA; sons, Stanley Russell and wife, Sue of Taylor, AR, Tommy Russell and wife, Louise of Minden, LA; grandchildren, Amy Morgan and husband, Joe, Brandi Garrett and husband, Clint, Christopher Burns, Steve Singleton, Jr., Scott Singleton and wife, Kesha, Lori Moore and husband, Shannon, Kristen Russell and Brandon McEachern; great grandchildren, Cherae, Chae, Lexi, George, Madison, Tiger, Macey, Jameson, Josie, Preslie, Austin and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Russell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Allen Elmore Bud Russell; sister, Patsy Williamson and brother, Robbie Jones.

Pallbearers will be Gary McKinney, Bill Nipper, Jessica Landry, Joe Morgan, Chris Burns and Steve Singleton. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Peanut Jones, Sammy Caldwell, Robert Hardy, Thomas Nipper, Robbie Johnson, Milburn Distotell, Bevil Burns, James Henderson and Rodney Binford.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Association.

Garry Knighton officiating. Interment will follow in Plain Dealing Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Plain Dealing, LA.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Bailey Funeral Home, Plain Dealing, LA.

Mrs. Griffith was born on July 6, 1948 to L.M. and Peggy Kemp Harville in Shreveport, LA and passed away on July 4, 2012 in Plain Dealing, LA. She was a resident of Plain Dealing, a member of Plain Dealing Church of Christ and was retired from Builder's Custom Cabinets after 15 years of service. Mrs. Griffith was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter and sister.

She is survived by her parents; sister, Cathy Hamiter of Sarepta, LA; two daughters, Leigh Ann Brown and husband, Clint of Plain Dealing, LA, Lori Watkins & husband, Buddy of Waldo, AR; five grandchildren, Adam DeMoss and wife, Melinda of Plain Dealing, LA, Kyle DeMoss of Plain Dealing, LA, Joshua Walsh of Magnolia, AR, Ragen Thompson of Magnolia, AR, Zachary Brown of Plain Dealing, LA and precious great-grandson, Brodi DeMoss of Plain Dealing, LA

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Joshua Walsh, Adam DeMoss, Kyle DeMoss, Zachary Brown and co-workers, Anthony Willette and Alan Presler.

Funeral services for Ms. Barbara Ann Pittman, age 69, will be held Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 2:00 PM in Plain Dealing Baptist Church with Bro. Chad Hardbarger officiating. Interment will follow in Plain Dealing Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Plain Dealing, LA.

Visitation will begin Saturday at 1:00 PM until time of service at Plain Dealing Baptist Church.

Ms. Pittman was born February 23, 1942 to Preston and Tessie Odom Pittman in Shreveport, LA and passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2011 in Shreveport, LA. She was a lifelong resident of Plain Dealing, a life time member of Plain Dealing Baptist Church, was retired from Farmer Home Administration and had worked the last several years at Horseshoe Casino. Ms. Pittman was also an avid doll collector .

She is survived by her niece, Mala LaCaze of Louisville, KY; aunts, Lois Kirkham, Pauline Strickland; uncle, Louis Pittman and numerous cousins and friends.

Ms. Pittman was preceded in death by her parents; her twin sister, Nan Elaine LaCaze and her baby brother, Malvin Pittman.

Pallbearers will be John Arinstien, James Southerland, Brad Johnson, Thurman Moore, Gary Don Murry and Eddie Chandler.
