Funeral services for Mr. Steven Joe Downs, age 43, will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 21, 2012, at the Immanuel Baptist Church, Plain Dealing, LA, with Bro. Kenneth Lowery officiating . Interment will follow in Plain Dealing Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Plain Dealing.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 20, 2012 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Downs was born on November 30, 1968 to Jerry and Alpha Lowe Downs in Shreveport, LA and passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 in Bossier City. He attended Immanuel Baptist Church and worked for Doggett Machinery for the past 15 years.
He is survived by his step-daughter, Cecilia Read and husband, Chris; step-grandchildren, Mason and Valerie Read all of Fort Worth, TX; sisters, Terry Clarkston and husband, Richard, Cherrel Arnold and husband, Gary; brother, Tim Downs and wife, Donna all of Plain Dealing; sister-in-law, Cheryl Downs of Bossier City and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Downs was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Chris Downs.
Pallbearers will be Randy Hays, Frankie Miller, Tim Stiles, Charles Harris, Kevin Bounds, Wayne Stiles, Roger Cooks and Lee Stanfield.

Graveside services for Mr. Cartis Dalton Johnson, age 87, will be held Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 2:00 PM in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Shongaloo, LA with Rev. G.R. Collier officiating under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill.
Visitation will begin Thursday at 12:00 PM until 1:30PM.
Mr. Johnson was born June 27, 1924 in Shongaloo to Roy Chester and Virgie Pickett Johnson and passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011 in Springhill, LA. He was a lifelong resident of this area, a member of the First Baptist Church of Cullen, LA and was retired from International Paper Company after 32 years of service. Mr. Johnson was also a WW II US Navy veteran.
He is survived by wife, Peggy Hudson Johnson of Terrell, TX; sisters, Erma Teutsch and husband, Connie of Bossier City, LA, Nettie Schreiner of Fargo, N.D., Sandra Hall of Hackett, AR; brothers, Carlton Johnson of Saline, LA, Eugene Johnson and wife, Shirley of Springhill, LA, Joe Johnson and wife, Bonnie of Springhill, LA and son-in-law, Bobby Dodson.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Thelma Aline Johnson and daughter, Kathy Dodson.

Funeral services for Rev. Don Rayburn, age 84, will be held Monday, July 4, 2011, at 10:00 A.M. in the Holly Ridge Assembly of God Church, Haynesville, LA, with Rev. Rodney Gray officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Haynesville, LA.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 3, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Rev. Rayburn was born on August 9, 1926 to Harold June and Susie Hill Rayburn in Haynesville and passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2011 in Homer. He was a retired minister having served at churches in Homer, Three Creeks, Mott, Plain Dealing, Tallulah and Marion, LA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict and was retired from Stauffer Chemical Company with 26 years of service.
He is survived by his loving spouse of 63 years, Hazel Pickett Rayburn, daughter, Donna R. Tannehill and husband Harry of Springhill, LA; sons, Mike Rayburn and wife Pat of Haynesville, LA, Rodger Rayburn and wife Brenda of Homer, LA; sister, Dorothy R. Lewis of Alabama; host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.

Plain Dealing, LA - Funeral services for Mrs. Maebelle Malone Impson, age 94, will be held Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 2:00 PM in Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Grant and Rev. Darrel Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Chalybeate Springs Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Plain Dealing, LA.
Visitation will begin Friday at 5:00 PM until 8:30 PM at Bailey Mortuary, Plain Dealing, LA.
Mrs. Impson was born March 7, 1915 in Plain Dealing, Louisiana to Samuel Wesley and Pearlie Lenora Johnson Malone and passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2009 in Bossier City, LA following a short illness. She was a lifelong resident of this area, a member of Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She is survived by a daughter, Yvonne Butler and husband, Joe of Keithville, LA; son, Billy Ray Impson of Plain Dealing, LA; sister, Bertie Lou Parrish of Plain Dealing, LA; brother, Geon Malone of Plain Dealing, LA; grandchildren Rebecca Lynn Impson, Ashlyn Alane Impson, Regan Alexandra Impson, Jon Kevin Butler and wife, Crystal, Karen Yvonne Rich and husband, Matt; great grandson, Talon Lathe Butler and step-great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Nix.
Mrs. Impson was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis ODaniel Impson, 1963 and a son, Bobbie Curtis Impson, 1942; two sisters and four brothers.
A special thanks to doctors and staff of the 2nd Floor and ICU, Willis-Knighton Bossier.

Funeral services for Mrs. Belva Wallace Torrence, age 93, will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at the Central Baptist Church, Springhill, LA, with Rev. Tim Everett officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 16, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Torrence was born on February 27, 1919 in Village, AR to Hartford and Mary Cook Wallace and passed away on Friday, July 13, 2012 in Taylor, AR. She was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church and a former member of First Baptist Church, Springhill, where she enjoyed participating in all church related activities and was a retired hairdresser. Mrs. Torrence loved sewing, cooking, painting, fishing, traveling, visiting with her friends, and watching Lumberjack Football. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her, children, Dr. Leamon G. "Gary" Torrence Jr. and wife Alexis of Springhill, Janet Torrence Gremillion and husband Joe of Silverhill, AL, Beth Torrence Auger and husband Don of West Monroe, LA, Nancy Torrence Howard and husband Bobby of Keithville, LA; son-in-law, Larry Stegall of Farmerville, LA; seventeen grandchildren, Kim McCrary, Karen Dunham, Jeff Stegall, Robbie Gremillion, Sherry Ringenoldus, Sheila Kennedy, Chris Davies, Pamela Bermudez, Tiffany Figgins, Jerry Paul Nye , Brandon Nye, Mike Howard, Richard Howard, Jenny Ranz, Taylor Torrence, Sarah Torrence, Lee Torrence; numerous great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Torrence was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Allen Braley and Leamon Garrett Torrence, Sr.; daughters, Jerry Alice Braley, Gloria Torrence Stegall; brother, John Wallace and sisters, Elvira Wallace and Christine Wallace Jacks.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lee Torrence, Chris Davies, Jeff Stegall, Jay Nye, Brandon Nye, Garrett Ranz, Justin Teague and Cody Tripp. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Howard, Mike Howard, Ricky McCrary, Sean Kennedy, Marty Dunham, Robby Gremillion, Shawn Figgins, and Scott Ringenoldus.

Timothy Marvin Tucker

Graveside services for Mr. Tim Tucker, age 53 will be held Sunday, December 2, 2012 at 1:30 PM in Springhill Cemetery with Rev. Bill McLain officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.
Visitation will begin Sunday at 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Tucker was born August 14, 1959 in Shreveport, LA to Marvin Elbert and Sally Gore Tucker and passed away November 29, 2012 in Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. He fought a courageous battle, but now is safe and whole with God. He loved hunting and fishing, especially with his Dad. Mr. Tucker retired from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Department where he served with pride.
He is survived by his son, Brett Evan Tucker of Lake Charles; mother, Sally Tucker of Springhill, LA and sister, Kathy Tucker of Shongaloo, LA.
Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by his father.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the ICU at Lake Charles Memorial for their care and compassion shown to Mr. Tucker during his illness and a special thanks to Rev. Weldon Barres and his staff for their love, visits and prayers.
Memorials may be made to the prayer garden at Springhill United Methodist Church.
