Funeral services for James R. Youngblood, 71, will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Haynesville, LA with Dr. Shelby Cowling officiating. Burial will follow in Old Town Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Haynesville, LA.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 23, 2008 from 10:00 until 12:00 am at Bailey Mortuary. Mr. Youngblood passed away in El Dorado, AR on Sunday, December 21, 2008. He was a lifelong resident of Haynesville and a business man. James loved being around people, telling stories of all kinds, especially loved the Lord and was a very loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brownie and Carmen Green Youngblood and his beloved wife, Judy.

Mr. Youngblood is survived by one son, Jimmy Youngblood; three daughters, Pam Hudsmith & husband, Stueart of Memphis, TN; Nancy Smith & husband, Kevin of Houston, TX; Nicki Willett & husband, Bobby of Dry Prong, LA; 11 grandchildren, Floyd & Brandon Youngblood; Ashley, Brooke, Caroline, Denver, Emilee, & Foster Hudsmith; Peyton Weldon; Gunnar, Rance, & Blake Willett; one great grandchild, Brennan Youngblood.

The family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn 38105-1942

James L. Hilburn
February 21, 1931 - December 23, 2012

Springhill, LA - Funeral services for James L. Hilburn, age 81, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wayne Johnston officiating. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Wednesday, beginning at 10:00 A.M. until funeral time.

Mr. Hilburn was born February 21, 1931 in Shongaloo, LA to James Clell and Carnel Lewis Hilburn and died Sunday, December 23, 2012 in Springhill, LA. He was a lifelong resident of this area, was a member of the Baptist faith and was a retired dispatcher having worked with the Webster Parish Sheriff's Office for 20 years and the Springhill Police Department for ten years. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Clell and Carel Lewis Hilburn.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jeri West Hilburn; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Jerry DeLoach, all of Springhill, LA; son and daughter-in-law, James Carrol and Bobbie Hilburn of Winnfield, LA; grandchildren, Josh Wheeler, Robbie Hilburn, Jake DeLoach, Nikki Hilburn and Meagan DeLoach; great-grandchildren, Jolie, Wes, Story and Aniston; brothers, Billy Hilburn and wife, Frances; Robert Hilburn and wife, Lana, all of Springhill, LA; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Wheeler, Jake DeLoach, Dillon Toms, Shane Toms, Randy Toms and Steve McLain.

Betty Jo Gardner

May 9, 1940 - December 27, 2012

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jo Gardner, age 72, will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 29, 2012 in Forest Grove Baptist Church, Taylor, AR, with Bro. Joseph Stacks officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Grove Cemetery, Taylor, AR under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 29, 2012, 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Forest Grove Baptist Church.

Mrs. Gardner was born on May 9, 1940 in Huntsville, AL and passed away on December 27, 2012 in Springhill, LA. She was a member of the Assembly of God faith and a homemaker. Mrs. Gardner was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Being a Granny and "D" was very special to her.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, James Edward Gardner; daughter, Jamie Jones and husband, Lonnie of Springhill, LA; son, William E. Gardner of Waldo, AR; five grandchildren, Katie Kenoyer and husband, Jared of McKinney, TX, Kristi Joyce and husband, Chris of Springhill, LA, Cody Jones of Taylor, AR, Keith Gardner of Waldo, AR, Will Gardner of New Boston, TX; two great-grandsons, Jace Joyce of Springhill, LA, Jaxon Kenoyer of McKinney, TX; two sisters, Lorene Newby and husband, George of Huntsville, AL, Audie Kennemer of Huntsville, AL and a host of nieces and nephews.

Philip Max Allen
March 28, 1939 - September 20, 2012

Graveside services for Mr. Philip Max Allen, age 73, will be held Friday, September 28, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Bradley, AR with Dr. David Holder officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Mr. Allen was born March 28, 1939 in Shreveport, LA to Artis Taft and Bessie Louella Dinkins Allen, Sr. and passed away September 20, 2012 in Orlando, FL following a short illness. He was a resident of Longwood, FL and a former resident of Springhill, a member of the Church of God and a graduate of Springhill High School Class of 1957. Mr. Allen was self-employed, an ATM installer and connected with the Tourism/Convention Industry. He was also a US Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Leslie Goodman Allen of Little Rock, AR; granddaughter, Alyssa Skyler Coleman of Longwood, FL; brother, David Allen and wife, Donna of Sulphur, LA and nephew, Jay Allen and wife, Nicole of Benton, LA.

Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his parents; son, Christopher “Chris” Allen; sister, Regina “Jeannie” Jones and brothers, Art Allen and Jerry Allen.

Clory Haynes Allen

May 16, 1913 - February 2, 2011

Clory Haynes Allen, age 97, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 2, 2011 in Sherman, TX.

Clory was born May 16, 1913 in Shongaloo, La, the daughter of Thomas Green Haynes and Nancy Caswell Haynes. She was the youngest of 7 children and the only girl. She spent her early years in Shongaloo and Springhill, graduating from Springhill High School in 1932. She married Leland Bryan Allen in Magnolia, Arkansas on February 8, 1936. They had one daughter, Linda Lou who married Jerry Hudson on August 19, 1960. Clory will be fondly remembered as the librarian at Webster Parish Library in Springhill, where she worked for 43 years and was a member of Central Baptist Church.

Clory is survived by her 3 grandchildren, Melanie Hudson of Charlotte, NC, Melinda Hudson Parker and her husband Tim of Denison, TX, and Stephen Allen Hudson and wife Mary of Little Rock, AR, and her 5 great-grand children , Caroline Parker of Lubbock, TX, Mary and Will Parker of Denison, TX and Ben and Sam Hudson of Little Rock, AR. She was also loved by many nieces and nephews.

Clory was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, and brothers Romie, Erby, Noah, Thomas Jewell, Archie, and Curtis Haynes.

Funeral Services were held at Bailey Funeral Home on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 3:30 pm with the Reverend Tim Everett officiating. Pallbearers were Michael Haynes, Kenneth Garrett, Greg Richardson, Steve Hudson, Earl Haynes, Wayne King, Anthony Manuel, and Bob Colvin. Honorary pallbearer was Laurence D. Haynes.

Visitation will begin Saturday at 9:00AM at Bailey Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 2:30 PM until time of service.

The family would like to thank Clorys caregivers, Wesley Village, Pecan Point Assisted Living and Advantix Home Health Care for their supreme care in her later years.

In lieu of flowers, Clory would be honored if donations would be made in her name to the Willie Mack Memorial Library, 217 N. Main St., Springhill, LA 71075.

Fort Smith, AR/Haynesville, LA - Mrs. Ethelyn Dumas Guin Mitchiner, age 98, died Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Methodist Health and Rehab in Fort Smith, AR after a brief illness.

She was born September 8, 1914 in Emerson, AR in Columbia County. Ethelyn was the eldest daughter of Oscar and Mary Annis Williams Dumas. She was the widow of D. B. Mitchiner.

Survivors include a son, Don L. Guin and wife Ann of Flint, TX; daughter, Deebe M. Milford and husband Tommy of Alma, AR; one sister, Cloie Minter of Shreveport, LA; three grandchildren, Greg Guin and wife Cindy of Rowlett, TX, Abigail M. Nida and husband Jonathan of Shreveport, LA, and Mary Allison Milford of Birmingham, AL. Great grandchildren include Caleb and Jordan Guin of Rowlett, TX and Grace and Jack Nida of Shreveport, LA.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Old Town Cemetery in Haynesville, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home in Haynesville. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 12:00pm until 1:30pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Dennis D. Dumas, Frank William Jones, Jr., Charles F. Minter, Jr., Tommy Milford, Greg Guin, and Jonathan Nida.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Haynesville, 2021 Main Street, Haynesville, LA 71038.
