Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Owens Price, age 90, will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 10:00 AM in Central Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Talley officiating and Rev. Tim Everett assisting. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA

Visitation will begin Monday, April 30, 2012 at 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Bailey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Price was born January 5, 1922 in Hall Summit, LA to Marcus Allen and Maudie Hood Owens and passed away April 29, 2012 in Springhill, LA. She was a resident of Springhill; a faithful member of Central Baptist Church having served duties in the children’s department for many years and she was also a retired school teacher of 43 years, having taught sixth grade English in Springhill. Mrs. Price loved her family, enjoyed sewing, traveling and was a member of the Good Sam’s Camping Club.

She is survived by her three grandchildren; Shannon Dale Strother, Kimberly Strother Owen and husband, Joseph Owen, II, Charis Margret Gates & husband, Jason Gates; son-in-law, Roy D. Strother and wife, Connie; great grandchildren, Mitch Strother and wife, Danielle, Lexi Strother, Cherae Burns, Chae Burns, Taylor Gates, Jarrott Gates, Dylan Shidiskis; step-great grandchildren, Gage Owen, Madison Owen; great great grandchild, Jaxon Gersch and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maurice Franklin Price, December 11, 2000; her daughter, Karen Jane Strother, June 7, 2004 and her two brothers and two sisters.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Gates, Joseph Owen, Chae Burns, Mitch Strother, Reagan Putman and Shelby Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dylan Shidiskis, Jarrott Gates, Tommy Owens and Peyton Moody.

Mark Alan Waddle
(June 19, 1957 - April 24, 2012)

A celebration of life for Mr. Mark Alan Waddle, age 54, will be held Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 321 Moore Street, Springhill, LA from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will follow in Stateline Cemetery at a later date.

Mr. Waddle was born June 19, 1957 in Magnolia, AR to Ezra Bernard and Thelma Mae Umphries Waddle and passed away April 24, 2012 in Shreveport, LA. He was a lifelong resident of this area and was employed as a laborer for a seismograph and survey company.

He is survived by his wife, Kristen Pickard Waddle of Springhill, LA; children, Cassie Waddle of Springhill, LA, Logan Waddle of Greenwood, MS, Mary Grace Waddle of Greenwood, MS, Violet Waddle of Greenwood, MS; brothers, Joe Ward and wife, Debbie of North Little Rock, AR, Travis Waddle and wife, Audrey of Virginia and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Waddle was preceded in death by parents and sister, Delores Recoulley.

Tamara Davis Gavin
(March 24, 1978 - March 22, 2012)

Tamara R. (Davis) Gavin, 33 of Leesville, La passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at her home in Leesville. She was born on March 24, 1978 in El Dorado, Ar to Sidney E. Davis and Laura Lee Pate. Tamara was a fun loving person who loved life and having a good time. She also enjoyed singing karaoke and loved to shop. She was a loving mother and was a member of the Blanchard Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Sidney E. Davis; her Grandparents, and a step-brother, Lane Allen Pennington. Survivors include her mother, Laura L. Pate of Marksville, La; one daughter, Alexis DeBellvue also of Marksville, La; two sons, Tyler Davis and Makana Gavin both of Leesville, La; two step children, Casey Gavin of Washington, D.C and Christopher Gavin of Baton Rouge, La; three brothers, Zachary Pennington of Junction City, Shaun Davis of Homer, La. and Kevin Davis of Ruston, La; one half brother, Scott Davis of Spearsville, La. and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Bailey Funeral Home in Junction City with Bro. Richard Methvin officiating. Burial will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery under the direction of Bailey funeral Home of Junction City. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm at Bailey Funeral Home in Junction City.

Carl Lee Craig
(November 30, 1926 - March 22, 2012)

Funeral services for Carl Lee Craig, 85, will be held Sunday, March 25, 2012, 2:00 PM at the Haynesville United Methodist Church, Haynesville, LA with Bro. John Korlaske officiating. Burial will follow the service at Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Haynesville, LA.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 24, 2012 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Craig passed away after a short illness at the Homer Memorial Hospital on Thursday, March 22, 2012. He was born in Haynesville, LA to Will Tracy and Sudie Holland Craig on November 30, 1926. Mr. Craig was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was also a faithful member of the Methodist Church. Carl could spend hours visiting and remembering old times. Mr. Craig was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Joe Craig.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Martha Bond Craig of Haynesville, La; two sons, Steve Craig & wife, Jill of Haynesville, LA and Tim Craig & wife, Georgie of Jackson, MS; one daughter Bronwyn Sneed & husband, Donnie of Magnolia, AR; five grandchildren, Crystal Evans & husband, Harold, Jamie McDonald & husband, Chip, Whitney Emrich & husband, John, Shelby Sneed and Sydney Sneed; five great grandchildren, Michelle and Austin McDonald, Christian and Andrew Evans, and Porter Emrich; one brother, Calvin Craig & wife Bonnie and one sister-in-law, Delores Craig.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Craig, Tracy Craig, Chris Craig, Mike Craig, Lester Roan, Lance Roan, Caleb House, and Colby House.

Mr. Griffin was born on January 26, 1922 to Andrew J. and Idella Zeigler Griffin in Selma, LA and passed away on March 19, 2012 at his home in Springhill. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Springhill, WWII U.S. Navy Air Corps Veteran serving in the European and Pacific Theatre and was retired from International Paper Company after 37 years of service. He is survived by his three daughters, Linda Miller and husband, John of Little River, SC, Marie Burford of Springhill, Mary Hendricks and husband, Tony of Flora, MS; seven grandchildren, Jeff Miller of Amarillo, TX, Paul Miller of Little River, SC, Stacy Capp and husband, Steve of Tyler, TX, Teresa Mize and husband, Justin of Flora, MS, Crystal Hendricks of Jackson, MS, Kelley Duke and husband, Josh of Taylor, AR, Amber Hendricks of Flora, MS; sixteen great-grandchildren, Morgan Perryman and husband, Adam, Jay Scott Miller, Dylan Miller, Emily Miller, Makayla Miller, Jaden Miller, Anna Capp, Sara Capp, Payton Brady, Bailey Mize, Katie Duke, Ryan Duke, Maddi Duke, Nathan Durden, Bridger Mize, Damien Miller; great great-granddaughter, Hannah Perryman and sister, Jo Ann Corley of Georgetown, LA. Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Lola Mae Harris, 88, will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Everett officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA. Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Bailey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Harris was born August 28, 1923 in Jamestown, LA to William Rufus and Alice Elizabeth Crow Barnes and passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012 in Shreveport, LA. A devoted wife and mother, Mrs. Harris enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and sharing memories of her travels throughout the United States and abroad to Paris, France. As a faithful member of Central Baptist Church she spent much time serving her church on various committees, along with numerous social and civic organizations in the Springhill community. Lovingly known as “Momae” to many, she spent countless hours cheering on her Springhill Lumberjacks and Louisiana Tech Bulldogs and will be fondly remembered by her children and grandchildren for her famous smile, insightful guidance, as well as her Thanksgiving chicken and dressing dinner and Date cakes. Mrs. Harris also loved fishing and was a member of the Springhill Mardi Gras Krewe of Artemis.

Cherishing her memory are her sons, Michael B. “Mike” Harris and wife, Peggy of Shreveport, LA, Edward Lee Harris Jr. and wife, Vicky of Noble, LA, William Alan Harris and wife, Annita of Littleton, CO, daughter-in-law, Bertha “Bert” Aucoin Harris of Springhill, LA; grandchildren, Angela H. Brakeville, and husband, Clayton, James Lee Harris and wife, Shannon; Edward Lee Harris III, Sarah H. Mann and husband, Blake, Lindsey Harris and Staci Harris; great-grandchildren, Shelby Ann, Caroline, Blaklee, and Sutton Grace; and brother, Dr. Roy Hale Barnes and wife, Katie of Picayune, MS.

Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dr. Edward Lee Harris, Sr., son, James Shelby Harris and sister, Ruby B. Pullig.

Pallbearers will be Clayton Brakeville, Lee Harris, Trey Harris, Blake Mann, James Colvin and Johnny Edens. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Skinner, Ray Parker and Charlie Brakeville.

Gladys Marie Wise Schoellerman
(October 10, 1915 - March 15, 2012)

Graveside services for Mrs. Gladys Marie Wise Schoellerman, age 97, will be held Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 10:00 AM in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery with Rev. Greg Hurst officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will be Saturday morning at 8:00 AM until 9:00 AM at Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Mrs. Schoellerman was born October 10, 1915 in Shongaloo, LA to Ivan Drew and Emma McCollum Wise and passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 in Taylor, AR. She was a lifelong native of Shongaloo, was a member of Old Shongaloo United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.

She is survived by two great nieces, Cher Lynn Johnson and husband, Randall of Shongaloo, Donna Kaye Holtzclaw and husband, John of Shongaloo and a host of other cousins and loving friends.

Mrs. Schoellerman was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Schoellerman; two sisters, Hazel Wise Jones, Oleta Wise Armour Williams; a brother, Billy Wise and two nephews, Randy Carrol Armour and Donnie Armour.

Serving as pallbearers will be John Holtzclaw, Randall Johnson, Hayden Holtzclaw and Jes Holtzclaw.
