Mr. Larry “Joe” Young, 60, died Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Willis-Knighton Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Born in DeRidder, Louisiana, October 25, 1951, to the late Mr. James Ocie Young and Mrs. Eula Mae Frusha Young.
Mr. Young is survived by his wife, Deanna LaCombe Young of DeRidder, daughter Angie Young Mullens and husband James of DeRidder, stepson, Dillon McEwan of DeRidder, brothers D.J. Young & wife Janice of DeRidder, Ricky Young & wife Brenda of DeRidder, Junior “Jim” Young of Baton Rouge, sister Ella Dee Martin of DeRidder, grand-daughter Jaimee Mullens of DeRidder, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mr. Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
He will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 12, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Shady Grove United Pentecostal Church in DeRidder.
Rev. Jeff Phillips and Rev. Donnis Ashworth will be officiating.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 11 from 5-9 p.m. and again on Monday, March 12, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at Shady Grove United Pentecostal Church in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Burial will follow at Hopewell cemetery.
Carl Wade Crain II
September 4, 1974 - March 10, 2012
Mr. Carl Wade Crain II, 37, died Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Town and Country Nursing Center, in Minden, Louisiana.
Born in Woodridge, Virginia, September 4, 1974, to the late Mr. Carl Wade and Peggy Crain.
Mr. Crain is survived by his mother, Ms. Peggy Crain of Zwolle, LA and sister, Kay and husband James Huff of Call, Tx, 4 nephews, Brendon, Ryan, Tyeler, and Dylan.
He was a loving son, brother, and uncle who will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 12, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 11, from 5-9 p.m. at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home, DeRidder, Louisiana.
Burial will follow at Merryville cemetery, Merryville, Louisiana.
Bro. Jim Miers will officiate.
Curtis Meaut
September 18, 1960 - March 4, 2012
Curtis Edward Meaut, 51, passed from this life on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at his home in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Those left to cherish his memory are brothers, L.C. Bailey of Newnan, Georgia; Pete Bailey of Mooresville, North Carolina; Jack Meaut of Beaumont, Texas and Charles Meaut of California; sisters, Linda Johnson of Rosepine, Louisiana and Sylvia Pelusi of Newnan, Georgia; brother-in-law, Richie Young of DeRidder, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Diane Bailey of Sugartown, Louisiana and a host of nieces and nephews.
Curtis was an inspiration to everyone and was loved by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Florine Meaut; brothers Raymond Sensing and Charles Bailey; sister Alice Young; nephews John Johnson and Charles Bailey Jr. and niece, Regina Bailey.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012 from 5:00pm to 10:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home and also Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 8:00am to 10:00pm at the funeral home.
Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Graybow Pentecostal Church in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 2:00pm at Graybow Pentecostal Church in DeRidder.
Burial will follow at Blue Branch cemetery in Pitkin, Louisiana.
Brother Kenneth Gibson will officiate.
David Michael Carheel
February 8, 1958 - February 25, 2012
On February 8, 1958, David Michael Carheel was born to the union of the late Johnnie Carhee of Many, Louisiana and Laura Mae Guidry of Beaumont, Texas.
He attended George Washington Carver High School in DeRidder, Louisiana and later received his GED.
Mike joined Mount Canaan Baptist Church at an early age.
Mike was received by his Heavenly Father on February 25, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Carhee, one sister, Johnnie Mae Maxie, two brothers, Tommy J. Carhee and Theo Daniel Carheel.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Laura Samuel of Shreveport, Louisiana; four sisters, Gladys Brazzle of DeRidder, Louisiana; Ruby Conway (Bernard) of Goochland, Virginia; Jacklyn Wesson of Dallas, Texas, Theresa Crutchfield of Shreveport, Louisiana; two brothers, Gary Carheel (Erma) of DeRidder, Louisiana and Johnnie Carheel of San Diego, California and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Lone Star Baptist Church in Many, Louisiana, from 10:00am to 1:00pm.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, March 3, 2012 also at Lone Star Baptist Chuch in Many.
Burial will follow at Lone Star cemetery in Many, Louisiana.
Rev. John Crosby will officiate.
Johnathan L. Crawford
September 1, 1985 - February 24, 2012
Johnathan L. Crawford, 26, of DeRidder, Louisiana passed from this life on February 24, 2012.
He was born September 1, 1985.
He is survived by his mother, Armenner (Missy) Crawford of DeRidder; daughter, Madison Sharae Foster of Winnfield, Louisiana; brothers, Demetrius Battle of Talladega, Alabama and Douglas L. Battle Jr. of Houston, Texas and sisters, Torilita Quinn-Barras (Paulo) of New York; and Desarai N. Bowers and Keria N. Bowers of DeRidder.
He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas L. Battle.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 9:00am to 11:00am at Starlight Missionary Baptist Church in DeRidder.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 11:00am at Starlight Baptist Church.
Interment will follow at Starlight cemetery in DeRidder.
Rev. Daniel Stafford will officiate.
