Marvin Bolton, Sr., 54, of DeRidder, Louisiana passed from this life on Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Mr. Bolton was retired from the U.S. Army. He was an infantry soldier and was very devoted to the U.S. Army. Marvin was also a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, JoAnn Bolton; sons, Marvin Bolton Jr. and John Amos Bolton; daughter, Sachincko Bolton all of DeRidder, brothers, Sol Bolton Sr. and wife Valetta of Atlanta, GA and Ravis Bolton of Lake Charles, LA; sisters, Eartha Simon, Emma Malachi and Sachinko Hickman all of DeRidder; 2 grandchildren, Travon Bolton and Angel Bolton. He was preceded in death by his parents, SFC Amos and Annie Bolton, brothers, Ahmos Zu Bolton II, James Edward Bolton and Terry Lee Bolton; sisters, Juanita Major and Kathleen Grant; one grandchild, Shonta Bolton.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 at New Hope CME Church, 810 Ollie St. in DeRidder, LA from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope CME Church on Friday, December 28, 2012. Burial will follow at Beauregard cemetery in DeRidder, LA. Rev. Beulah Evans will officiate.
Doris "Dollie" Mayo Wilcox
Memorial Services for Doris “Dollie” Mayo Wilcox will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Flactor Baptist Church, Hicks, Louisiana with Pastor Huey Haymon and Pastor Lorraine Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday, December 21, 2012 and on Saturday, December 22, 2012 beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be at Flactor cemetery, Hicks, Louisiana under the direction of Myers-Colonial Funeral Home, DeRidder, Louisiana. Doris Mayo Wilcox went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ from her home at the age of 87, on Wednesday, December 19, 2012. She is preceded in death by her two beloved husbands, Karl R. Mayo of 54 years, and Word Turner Wilcox of 8 years; her parents, Willie Lee and Viola Haymon and three brothers, Lloyd, Elbert and Ivy Haymon. She is survived by her two sisters, Olea Ollie Haymon Johnson and Willie Vee Haymon Bolinger and her three sons, Karl Robert and wife Kathy Mierl Mayo, Phillip Daniel and wife Bertha Broussard Mayo and William Douglas and wife Priscilla Bothwell Mayo; five grandchildren: Shannon and wife Tracey Mayo, Jason Robert and wife Janet Mayo, John Mayo, Benjamin and wife Jill Mayo, Bryan Mayo, and six great grandchildren. Dollie was born July 9, 1925 in Fullerton, Louisiana and attended Big Creek and Pitkin High School and Evans High School and completed her undergraduate in Elementary Education and graduate degree, Specialist in Reading. She taught fifth and third grade and Chapter 1 Reading at Hicks High School and was promoted to Vernon Parish School Board Office as Supervisor of Chapter 1 Reading. Later, after retirement and a love to teach children to read, she returned to the classroom for several years. After retirement from the Vernon Parish School Board Office, she and her husband Karl worked many years with Lay Renewal Church Ministers; the Vernon Parish Genealogy Society, Fort Polk Heritage Society, authoring several genealogy books and being a pastor wife to several churches where her husband preached. She married
her second husband Word Turner Wilcox after Karl passed and she continued to do God’s work with Turner in the Hilltop Baptist Church as a deacon wife in Knight Community until his death.
Doris was very proud of her genealogy work. She collected and published four books on her family heritage, “The Haymon Family of Central Louisiana”. These books have been most valuable to Fort Polk leadership and local families in identifying old home sites and collect family lineages.
Affectionately known to her family and friends as “Dollie” she led a joyful life, a blessed life with a loving family and was always thankful for the gift of her faith in Jesus Christ and the peace and comfort found in the strong belief that in life and death we all belong to God. She was truly a child of God.
The family offers grateful thanks to all the caregivers, Flactor Baptist Church, The Church House in Hicks, LA, many family and friends that have been praying for our family and to Hardy Myers, Jerry Day and the staff at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home for a beautiful service.
Offie Fountain
May 16, 1942 - December 14, 2012
Offie Fountain, 70, of Starks, LA passed from this life on Friday, December 14, 2012 at his home. Offie was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Viet Nam. He was a member of Calvary Apostolic Church in Starks and worked in the tug boat shipping industry. He is survived by his brother, Gerald Fountain and wife Thelma of Starks, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Carmel Fountain, sister, Joyce Wallace and brother, Hebert Fountain.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 17, 2012 from 5:00pm until 10:00pm at Calvary Apostolic Church in Starks, LA. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 2:00pm also at Calvary Apostolic Church. Burial will follow at Fountain cemetery in Starks, LA. Rev. Jeremy Shields will officiate.
Douglas Eugene Cooper

Douglas Eugene Cooper, 87, of Merryville, Louisiana, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at his home. Mr. Cooper was a World War II Veteran. He worked as a pipefitter at PPG for 29 years. Douglas was a great Daddy and Papa. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Shirley Cooper; sons, Olon Lafate and wife Melissa, Cord Randall and wife Melody and Chad Douglas and wife Christine; daughters, Shawnee Renee’ Franks and husband Michael and Robbin Janell Hebert and husband Carl all of Merryville, LA; grandchildren, Corey, Joey, Kaitlyn, Reyhana, Douglas, Chelsea, Jacob, Peyton, Collin, Chance, Marisa, Morgan, Justin; Cody, Brady and Alexis; great grandchildren, Kaydence, Corbin, Sophie, Jasper, Chloe, Baylee, Lainee and Lydia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Madye and Lafate Cooper and brother, Ralph Cooper.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2012 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA and also on Friday, December 14, 2012 beginning at 9:00am until time of service. Funeral service will be Friday, December 14, 2012 at 11:00am at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Bivens cemetery in Bivens, LA.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Clayton Author Hollenbeck; grandson, Samuel Joseph Brister; daughter-in-law, May B. Hollenbeck and partner, John Foshee all of DeRidder, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Eno and parents, Arthur and Dorothy Huse.

Kathy Annette Dockery, 52, of DeRidder, Louisiana, passed from this life on Monday, December 10, 2012 at St. Patrick’s Hospital in Lake Charles, LA. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Grady Dockery; sons, Grady Lewis Dockery, Jr. and Gary Don Dockery all of DeRidder, LA; mother, Betty Gill of DeRidder, LA; brothers, James Gill and wife Kellie of Natchitoches, LA, Mickey Gill and wife Donna of Franklin, TN and Joseph Gill and wife Cristina of Oklahoma City, OK; sister, Katy Stracener and husband Leon of Pitkin, LA and grandchild, Jaidyn Dockery. She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Gill and daughter, Maranda Sue Chaney.

Huey P. White, 76, of Longville, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 in Lake Charles, LA. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Debra Brown of DeRidder, LA, Donna Davidson and husband David of DeRidder, LA and Melissa Spikes of Longville, LA; brothers, Jesse White and Raymond White and wife Jan all of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Wanda Goins and husband James of Merryville, La, Glenda Cantrell and husband Bernell of Rosepine, LA; grandchildren, Tessa McIntire and husband Robert, Chris Wilder, Huey Brown, Brittany Nash and husband Chris and Amber Davidson and 17 great grandchildren. He will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Macey White, sisters, Bertha Lea Porterpan, Eirtha Lea Schroeder, Pearl Griffin, Odine Perkins and Joy Gibson; brothers, Earl White and J.T. White.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Dr. James Thomas Hennigan Jr. and wife Deborah Anne and Robert Henry Hennigan and wife Diane all of DeRidder, Louisiana; daughters, Marilyn Hennigan Rudd, Sue Hennigan Leidig and husband David all of DeRidder, Louisiana and Peggy Hennigan Kessler and husband Robert Kevin of Pineville, Louisiana; grandchildren, Dr. James Robert Rudd, Jr. and wife Anne, Dr. Jennifer McCann and husband Eric, Dr. Jason Christopher Rudd and fiancee’ Aimee Arceneaux, David Michael Rudd, Greg Henry Hennigan and wife Amber, Melissa Wright and husband Clint, Kathryn Jean Haas, Emily Best and husband James, Mallorie Joan Leidig, Robert Kevin Kessler II and wife Emily, Kasey Kessler Stewart and husband Brady, Laurie Jean Kessler, Jacob Thomas Kessler, Tara Joy Connally and Melissa Anne Melesky and husband Phillip, and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean Ball Hennigan; great-grandson, Kaelan Embry Rudd; parents, Sam Henry Hennigan Sr. and Minnie Edith Williams Hennigan and 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm and also on Thursday, December 6, 2012 beginning at 9:00am until time of service at First Baptist Church in DeRidder, Louisiana. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 10:00am also at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Beauregard cemetery in DeRidder. Rev. Lindsey Burn and Rev. Lynn Clayton will officiate.

Douglas Edward Clay, 50, of Leesville, Louisiana passed from this life on Tuesday, November 20, 2012. He was born on December 15, 1961 to the proud parents, Gloria Turner and Johnny Lemon. He was a native of Houston, TX and was a resident of Leesville, LA. He attended Jack Yates High School in Houston, TX. He met his wife, Marilyn Clay of DeRidder, LA in 1985 and they were married
on April 16, 1985 until she preceded him in death.
