Thelma May Shafer Lewis
February 28, 1946 - November 2, 2014

Funeral services for Thelma May Shafer Lewis, will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 7, 2014 at First Pentecostal Church, DeRidder, with Reverends Kevin Reeves, Zale Lewis, George Glass, Jr. and Franklin Moses officiating. Interment will be held at Rosepine cemetery.

Mrs. Lewis, age 68, of DeRidder, entered eternal rest on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at her residence in DeRidder. She was a native of Rosepine, Louisiana. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and dear friend. Thelma was co-owner (retired) of Lewis Motors in DeRidder and a retired beautician. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and most of all she enjoyed doing things for others. Her life is better understood not from words but from the love that she put into her family and friends. She lived to love and is already greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents George R. Shafer and Vida Bass Shafer; four brothers, George Robert Shafer, Harold Edmund Shafer, W. Leo Shafer and Jiles Orlando Shafer, one sister, Sandra Kay Shafer Moses.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmie L. Lewis of DeRidder; two sons, Alan Farquhar (Stephanie) of DeRidder and Dr. Steven Farquhar (Sandra) of DeRidder; one step-son, Philip Lewis (Liz) of Rosepine; two step-daughters, Beth Lewis Jefferies (Jeff) of DeRidder and Barbara Lewis Kite of Lafayette; one brother, Larry Elmo Shafer (Cindy) of Rosepine; three sisters, Vivian Shafer Scarborough (Bill) of DeRidder, Georgia Shafer Burnett (Jeff) of Baton Rouge, and Joetta Shafer Richardson of DeRidder; two sister-in-laws, Gloria Clemons Shafer of Rosepine, and Juanita Carway Shafer of Silsbee, TX; seven Grandchildren, eight Great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may visit at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and at the First Pentecostal Church, DeRidder, on Friday, November 7, 2014 from 1:00 pm until time of service.

Clyde Cloud
January 12, 1942 - November 2, 2014
Clyde Cloud, 72, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at his home. Mr. Cloud was a school counselor, coach and referee. He was assignment secretary for West Central Officials Association and was chairman for the Beauregard Parish Fair Parade for many years. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley Morgan Cloud; son, David Floyd Cloud ; daughters, Donna Cloud Brady and husband Jeff, and Kerrie Cloud Richard and husband Craig all of DeRidder, LA; brothers, Charlie Cloud and wife Mittie of Elizabeth, LA, Gervis Cloud and wife Ann of Pineville, LA, and Johnny Mac Cloud and wife Mary of Elizabeth, LA; sisters, Laverne Roe of Elizabeth, and Dorothy Sweat of Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Haley and Lindsey Brady of Baton Rouge, LA, and Payton, Ryan, Micah and Jeron Richard,USMC, all of DeRidder, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Elizabeth Cloud.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 3:00pm until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA. Burial will follow at Occupy 1 cemetery in Pitkin, LA. Rev. Lindsey Burns will officiate.

Winnie Eaves
February 27, 1925 - October 30, 2014
Winnie Rae Foshee Eaves, 89, of DeRidder, LA, passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, October 30, 2014. Mrs. Eaves was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a homemaker, Sunday School Teacher, and nursery worker. She was a member of Cooper Baptist Church in Pickering for over 30 years.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 69 years, Teddy A. Eaves; daughters, Sherry Fontenot and husband George of DeRidder, LA, Brenda Joy of DeRidder, LA, and Tedine Soule and husband Sam of Mansfield, LA; son, Paul Eaves and wife Martha of Pickering, LA; sisters, Faye Cockrell, Doris Hickman, and Jo Lynn Lucas; brother, Keith Foshee; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Josie Foshee; sisters, Bennie Zimmerman, Helen Fontenot, and June Hill; brothers, Kenneth, Norman, Durwood, and Owen Foshee.

The family would like to thank caregivers, Evelyn Dowden and Amber La Saicherre.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 31, 2014 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 10:00am at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rosepine cemetery in Rosepine, LA. Rev. E.J. Bradshaw and Rev. Edgar Evans will officiate.

Odom Ray
September 7,1931- October 29, 2014
Odom Ray, of DeRidder, LA, went to be with our Lord, Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the Harbor Hospice Inpatient Facility in Lake Charles surrounded by his family. Born on September 7, 1931 to Autumn and Margie (Willis) Ray of Pitkin, he was 83 years, 1 month and 22 days. He married Betty Sue Weldon on September 29, 1951 in Oakdale. They enjoyed 63 years and 1 month of wonder wedded bliss and raised 5 wonderful children. Odom was a hardworking man, helping his family out at an early age. He went on to work different jobs that eventually led him to owning and operating Odom’s Nursery for many years. He loved gardening, fishing, hunting, car racing, his family, and most of all, his God. He has been a minister and Monday night prayer leader for 25 years, which include the last 17 at Beth-El Apostolic Church in DeRidder. He is a charter member of the church as well as serving as a board member.

He leaves behind his wife, Betty (Weldon) Ray; sons, Autumn “A.J.” Jeff Ray and wife Jenny of Oberlin, LA, and James Ervin Ray and wife Rita of Buna, TX; daughters, Betty “Sissy” Pauline Wilcox and husband Gene of DeQuincy, LA, Judy Ann Walker and husband Bruce of Deridder, LA, land Margie Sue Hampton and husband David of McCalla, AL; brothers, Alton “Bobie” Ray, Autumn Ray, Jr., and Michael Paul Ray; sisters, Ella “J.J.” Douglas, Loma Lee Nolen and Oma “Cootsie” Lee Davis; 19 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margie Willis Ray; father, Autumn Ray; brother, John Ray; sisters, Daisy Lee Johnson and Ann Perkins; grandsons, Autumn Jeffery Ray and Gage Sutterfield.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 31, 2014 from 5:00pm until 10:00pm at Beth-El Apostolic Church in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 11:00am at Beth-El Apostolic Church. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill cemetery in DeRidder, LA. Rev. Johnathan Walker and Rev. Trent Holmon will officiate. All donations may be made to Beth-El Apostolic Church in DeRidder.

Glen Oscar Jackson
November 2, 1947 - October 29, 2014
Glen Oscar Jackson, Sr., 66, of Rosepine, LA, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Glen Jackson, Jr., Tracey Bailey and Randall Matthis; daughters, Courtney Matthis, Katlin Matthis, and Violet Hickman and husband Pete, all of DeRidder, LA; brother, Kevin Gibson and wife Lynn of Bossier City, LA; sister, Scharlotte Chiasson and husband Norman of Marrero, LA; former wife, Vickie Matthis of DeRidder, LA; nieces, nephews, extended family and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Jackson and Joy Gibson; brothers, J.W. Jackson, Sr., and Freddie Gibson; and sister, Patricia Snapp.

Visitation and Funeral services will be held Friday, October 31, 2014 at Providence Baptist Church in Rosepine, LA. Visitation will begin at 10:00am until time of service at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Providence cemetery. Bro. Arlen Smith will officiate.

Lisa Wilson
January 22, 1964 - October 27, 2014
Lisa Wilson, 50, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Monday, October, 27, 2014 at her home. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Travis Wilson and wife Julie of DeRidder, LA; daughter, Tracy Lockhart and husband Micheal of DeRidder, LA; brothers, Robert A. Giles, Sr. and wife Toni of DeRidder, LA, and Anthony Wayne Giles, Sr. and wife Janet of Merryville, LA; sister, Carla Slaydon and husband Wayne of DeQuincy, LA, and Elizabeth Trabue and husband Keith of Mittie, LA; grandchildren, Alex Andrepont, Emily Wilson, Hailey Clark and Isaac Clark. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin Wilson, and parents, Robert and Patsy Giles.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 3:00pm until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 2:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Dry Creek cemetery in Dry Creek, LA. Rev. Jimmy Coody will officiate.

Derwood Causey
October 13, 1941 - October 27, 2014
Derwood Causey, 73, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Monday, October 27, 2014. Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Clifford Causey and wife Sabrina of Joaquin, TX, Clayton Causey and wife Dorothy of DeRidder, LA, and Mike Causey and wife Loretta of DeRidder, LA; brother, Ronnie Causey and wife Nancy of W. Monroe, LA; and 4 grandchildren.

At Mr. Causey’s request, there will be visitation only. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Bernice Cobbs; daughters, Susan Martin and husband John, and Ginny Henderson and husband Randy all of DeRidder, LA; stepson, Jimmy Spencer and Cara of Austin, TX; stepdaughter, Nora Tilley and husband Donny of Rosepine, LA; brother, John Wayne Cobbs and wife Debbie of Houston, TX; sisters, Sharon Carrothers and husband Pat of Albuquerque, NM, and Frances Huggins and husband Jim of Rosepine, LA; grandchildren, Devon Martin, Dillon Martin, Hannah Henderson, Zachary Henderson, Shayla Martin, Aedyn Henderson; stepgrandchildren, Gavin Fuselier, Lane Fuselier, and Casey Tilley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Emma Cobbs.

Funeral services are Thursday, October, 30, 2014 at 10:00am at Westview Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Cooper cemetery in DeRidder, LA. Bro. Wayne Kite and Bro. Jason Hoychick will officiate.

Hiram Mark DeGlandon, 50, of Starks, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, October 23, 2014.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Morris & Ebella DeGlandon of Starks, LA; sister, Sandra Marie Fluhr and husband Roger of Muncie, IN. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
